Beautiful peaceful surrounding in an ideal location to view the beaches close by. Frenchman Cove being my favourite. Goblin Hill is private and serene for a couple or family reunion. Food from their restaurant is delicious,especially the pumpkin soup. It was easy to get around via the local taxis. All the staff were very kind and helpful. The stairs to the beach is very tricky to use so use the main road.

The property lies on top of a point overlooking the sea. The views are amazing. It is a few km away from top level attractions: Frenchman's Cove, Blue Lagoon, Boston Beach, Winifred Beach, etc. Staff were super friendly and helpful.

Enchanting! This is a beautiful unique property with stunning views and magnificent gardens - a real labour of Love. Staff are delightful, welcoming & helpful, the food fresh & delicious - we were extremely well looked after! Like other hotels & restaurants outside of Montego Bay & Kingston, advance booking is required for meal service but this was no bother to us. The villas are comfortable, well designed & built, authentic to their era which only adds to the charming, mystical atmosphere. A true slice of Heaven for nature lovers like us! Our mistake was to only book a few nights .... we will return every year if we can.

The staff was exceptional , the food was excellent. What we were not pleased with was when you arrive late there should be a welcome basket in the kitchen even refreshments when you arrive , it is a long journey from the airport you cannot even have a cup of tea. I went to the front one night for a little sugar nothing was accessible . Away from that we loved it.

Beautiful Views, Broken Amenities!

I’ve visited Goblin Hill years ago and have such fond memories of the experience, so I was excited to return. The property still has its signature charm and breathtaking views, which are truly one of a kind. However, I was a bit disappointed this time around, especially considering the price we paid.

Unfortunately, several key amenities were not in working order. The pool was closed, and the tennis courts seemed to be in disrepair. It would have been helpful to know this in advance, as it did affect the overall experience. Given that Goblin Hill is not a beachfront property, these amenities are important to guests and should be maintained—or the pricing adjusted accordingly while they’re unavailable.

The grounds and buildings retain their vintage character, which I really appreciate, but some basic upkeep is definitely needed. The balcony awnings could use cleaning, and a fresh coat of paint here and there would go a long way in keeping the place feeling inviting and well-cared for.

That said, the staff made all the difference.
•Pamela, our cook, was outstanding—so kind, polite, and her cooking was amazing.
•Devon, the security guard, went above and beyond, even helping us get fresh snapper for dinner.
•AJ at the front desk was also very professional and welcoming.

Overall, the warm hospitality and spectacular views are the highlights of Goblin Hill. Hiwever, a heads-up or price adjustment would go a long way in managing expectations.

Goblin Hill is a time capsule in the best way possible. We’ve stayed here 4 or 5 times over the past 20yrs. It’s not a “vibe” but rather the real thing. It is and has always been a lush, low key, preserved tranquil oasis that can’t be matched.

It is with mixed feelings that we write this review. It was a property we were so looking forward to spending our 14 nights of pure relaxation. We booked a superior two bedroomed ocean view villa, which actually appears to be their only 2 bedroomed villa of this kind on the property with this panoramic view!
Sadly the reality of this accommodation was sky light seeping through the roofs of the bedrooms upstairs, which in heavy rainfall drips of water came through. There was no Internet reaching this ( there best villa) until the 5th day of our stay. Pretty much every other day there was a water problem, no water to shower or flush the toilet, on some occasions when there was water it was cold. The pool area needed a good jet wash and the hammocks and sun beds needed to be cleaned. We could not use the pool area for these very reasons. A couple of electric outages, though these were short lived. The San San beach that is advertised open at weekends only, is a bit of a walk down the back of the property , out onto the street across a major road and a further walk, eventually on arrival you will find it is not worth the journey. Goblin Hill’s garden areas were well kept, and if you pay for an ocean view villa, it will keep you sane as you battle through everything else this property lacks. Despite the lovely staff trying to remedy these issues mentioned, sadly Goblin Hill does not a appear to be a property that is loved by its owners, this is plain to see. We don’t recommend!

The staff is amazing helpful and kind m. the rooms are old there is rat and roaches everywhere and ants all over the rooms. they charge so much no breakfast included like other simulate properties around. I will never go back there - all they have going for them is the view the owners or people in charge need to do better- i’m asking expedia for some type of refund or something the pms e was horrible they need to take that off the list of places to send thier guests to.

For the money this was a terrible hotel. The rooms were very old and in disrepair, water didn’t work for a day (to flush toilets), furniture was dirty and I didn’t want to sit on it, the food was not great. Only good point was the personal chef that cooked for us and was delicious. The road to the property is destroyed and made the taxi (although Petey was awesome) ride difficult. I would never stay again or recommend the property.

Beautiful location up in the hills. Very nice and calm atmosphere with great views...beautiful planting. Humming birds ! Really helpful and friendly staff. a bit far from beaches: the only local beach (walking distance) is only open at the weekend, great beaches short driving distances: frenchman cove and Boston Beach. Blue Lagoon closed at the moment. The main local road at the moment is difficult and makes all journeys very slow and tricky... hopefully this will be resolved soon.

Listen!! I want to be fair…the staff at this location was extremely nice and this review is no fault of there’s. For the price this was not up to standard unless you don't mind paying over $300 per night to have no running water, or to have to go to the swimming pool to fill up a bucket to flush the toilets….NOT acceptable- You can see that in its heyday, this place was lovely but a MASSIVE reno is necessary and maybe a bit of love for this lovely location. The property and the views are lovely and each villa has potential….We lasted 1 night and had a delicious cup of soup and curry chicken and a salad for $70 US for two guests….That was the bad news….the good news is this establishment was extremely apologetic and I appreciated that sentiment. Hoping they get their act together and manage this hidden gem better!!

Positive - close to the Blue Lagoon and has the potential to be lovely.
Negative - this property needs a complete renovation - light sockets are coming out of the wall, lime built-up around the sinks in the bathrooms and kitchens. The outside needs painting and pool area needs some TLC.
Also, the roads to the villas are very bad.

Goblin Hill is a beautiful and relaxing retreat. The team is kind and responsive. The food (when ordered ahead) is authentic and delicious. The views are stunning. The main road is under construction so getting around can be tricky, for example the walk to the beach. I would still highly recommend the property. Just go with a well stocked refridgerator and a transportation plan.

I took a solo trip ti Jamaica and spent a week of my time at Goblin Hill which was nothing short of phenomenal. The front desk staff couldn’t do enough to make my stay comfortable and the touch added by the personal chef meant that the food was perfect!
I would not hesitate to recommend Goblin Hill and will be back on my next trip to Jamaica

Landscaping was very nice. Staff I encountered was terrible. There wasn’t even a welcome and we had to find the villa on our own. The receptionist first remarked was “I don’t know why expedia allow you to book for one night, we don’t do that!”Worst customer service ever at Goblin Hill. I’m happy I only book for one night because I would’ve left after the first night anyway. The property is only surviving off good will. There a is no restaurant onsite as advertised you’ll definitely starve after 5pm and the pool was extremely dirty.

The landscape was extremely beautiful! The view of the ocean from our bedroom was breathtaking. The bathrooms in our villa needs renovating they are somewhat dated with chipped tiles on the shower floor. there is no cable TV in the villa ,if you want to watch cable you have to walk down to the lounge at reception.
Thanks to Odane the porter/bell hop,lanscaper,tour guide,mr fix it for his assistance throughout our stay.We had a great stay and would definately go back.

the property is very nice old school style and we alwasy love it , we wish there was a t least breakfast or some kind of refreshments other than cooking or being cooked for in the villa.
Especially after a very long drive , bring supplies for your kitchen,.
the place is super beautiful and the view spectacular , we usually go to winifred beach which is local and this time we went to Frenchmans cove which is closer and has great service good and inexpensive to rent lounge chairs, the waiter brought us everthing the drinks were great and the burger was excellent with the fries ! we wanted the jerk chicken but there wasnt any ready.
the water and beach are pristine and it wasnt crowded on a weekday.

Really regret making this booking. For the price we paid, we were expecting full amenities and great service, but our stay was terrible. The hotel and grounds are beautiful, but that's really the only positive. We had to hunt someone down every time we needed something- even in the restaurant/ bar, there was never anyone on staff. They nickle and dimed us for absolutely everything- even the cheapest hotels I stay at will at least give you a small bottle of water in your room, but here we got nothing. There were a lot of frustrating, insulting moments with the staff, but the worst was when I tried to use their laundry service. I asked for my clothes back the next day, but when I got back to my room I realized they hadn't been touched. When I went back to the front desk to complain, I got zero apology or explanation, and of course they still charged me full price plus gratuity for doing it the second time. This hotel really shouldn't advertise itself as a hotel or resort- it's more like short-term apartment rentals.

I appreciated that the representation on their website was accurate, including photos. And I loved the villa layout - spacious rooms, huge openable windows, which means great natural ventilation and views. Oh, the views! From inside the villas and on the lawn overlooking the sea. Our favourite part of our stay was simply sitting on those adirondack chairs and feeling tranquil! We hope to be back again.

The setting at Goblin Hill is gorgeous. Lush green property with a stunning view. However the villas are in need of some extermination and new linens. Our towels has blood stains and floors were covered with ants. To be fair, we only stayed one night so we never gave the property a chance to fix anything to move us but I was disappointed for the price. Would likely not stay there again.

This was the worst hotel I have EVER stayed in. Would never stay here again. The room only has AC in the bedroom so was not able to enjoy the living room, the bathroom did not have AC so could not apply my make-up in there for the wedding I came into town to attend. Poor lighting throughout. The patio's floor felt as if it was ready to cave in. The dishes in the kitchen were old and rusty nothing I would ever eat from. OLD OUTDATED NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN!

Goblin Hill Villas is such a beautiful property. First, it's vast. There's so much space to just walk around and the views are gorgeous. I've been to Port Antonio multiple times and never considered staying here. I'm so happy we did. It was probably the nicest property we've stayed at in this area and we're definitely going to return. The staff were all super friendly and everything just seemed organized.

Such a beautiful spot, perched on a hill overlooking beautiful coves and the sea beyond. An easy walk to the famous Blue Lagoon. Quiet and lovely and welcoming. We so enjoyed the rum punch on the lawn with local musicians. And our amazing deck was a perfect place to get a massage the hotel staff set up for us. We had a lovely lady and grntleman who take care of our food needs and transportation. Private luxury has never come at such a reasonable price!! Would stay here again for sure!!

There were a couple staying in the villas 5 units down from were we were staying but they insisted on sitting in the chairs in front of our unit and the manager of Goblin hill refused to do anything about it. Teresa our cook and housekeeper was excellent. the bed was difficult to sleep on because of the ware and tear on the mattress causing indentations.the fan in the bedroom clicks all night. They did try to come and fix it.

The overall was decent. Our judgement might be influenced by the hotel we stayed in Ocho Rios which was just perfect. But trying to be objective, the villa had a lovely view and lots of space for just 2 people. Kitchen though was a bit small but did the job.
The shame is that the villas didn’t have the same colonial style than the main house with the reception and restaurant. They were more classic.
The location is good, just across from Blue Lagoon and nearby Frenchman Cove. Also just a 10 min drive from the beautiful Boston beach.

So yes I would still recommend it if you are looking for convenience at a decent price.

We loved everything about Goblin Hill! The view from our villa was beautiful, and two beaches were a short walk away. If we wanted to go farther, it was easy to get a driver (usually Ricky) to take us. The highlight of our holiday, however, was our housekeeper/cook Cynthia. It was so nice to wake up in the morning or come back from the beach and not have to think about where or what we were going to eat. Our breakfast and dinner were always ready, based on our preferences. Fried plantain and bananas, ackee and saltfish, jerk chicken, curried chicken, rice and peas, pineapple cake, coconut pie ... everything was absolutely amazing!

Goblin Hill is an excellent getaway. It is nestled between lush jungles and the entire property overlooks beautiful bays. The decor and common spaces are cozy and adorable. It is extremely well located with an easy walk to Frenchman’s Cove and the Blue Lagoon, some of the main attractions in the area. A top choice for staying in the Port Antonio region.

I would love a beach property included. A shuttle affiliated with this property would be a wonderful compromise. You had to get yourself to a paid beach. The beaches in the area are beautiful and seem safe. One beach is walkable but no amenities are at that beach, ie restrooms. The restart property is beautiful, safe and so very hospitable.

Perfect get away very friendly staff

Goblin hills villas at San San are very spacious and fully equipped. There is a complementary cook and the staff is extremely friendly and will do their best to accommodate all your needs. The view is beautiful and it is walking distance from the Blue Lagoon and Monkey island. The location is surrounded by luxurious nature and it is a very quiet and relaxin atmosphere. Perfect place for an amazing get away, thanks to the wonderful staff :)

Ended up not staying here for the 4 nights book. Just wasn’t a good initial experience. Villa not stocked with any food as requested. Pool not as shown in pics. Wasn’t a fan of walking into the villa and it’s wide open, I’d rather be given the option to have it open or not, limiting the potential for mosquitoes and critters getting into the room. The view from the villa is however breath taking...

We loved the place we stayed. Very disturbed with the roads getting there and the road leading up the hill and to the Goblin Hills. If there is any reason why we would not go back it would be for the roads in Jamaica getting to Goblin Hills. The staff and our \" maid servant\" was awesome. The Goblin Hill Villas is absolutely amazing for the kind of vaca I needed - rest, serenity, good food, sun!!!! The grounds are spectacular. The view from my villa breathtaking. The housekeeper did a super job on keeping the villa clean and did her best to prepare the meals I requested. She brought fresh hibiscus flowers each day - delightful - and they became the object of many of my pix. All the staff were friendly. It was a splendid visit which I plan to repeat!!!!
