I checked out the hotel a day early and they refused to refund my money they told me I booked through Expedia so I have to reach out to Expedia and Expedia is now telling me the hotel doesn’t want to refund my money for the night I did not overall the hotel is in a good location close to all the other beaches and rivers but the rooms need updating and bug control they have roaches that’s why i checked out early

Room service was super slow, breakfast delivered to room in takeout box instead of crockery and silverware. Couldn’t get coffee until 8:15am as coffee not ready. Room service wasn’t available for breakfast as short staff (apparently only 2 staff working). Lunch in restaurant took over hour and a half to 2 hours when only person in restaurant dining. No normal chair in room to work from laptop and none available in hotel. Front desk very rarely answered phone, to keep calling. Hotel could do with providing kettle in room so guests can make coffee themselves. Hotel should be DOWNGRADED TO 3 or 4 star. Very disappointed, would not recommend!!

Everything’s exceeded our expectations. The rooms were very spacious and the bathrooms were upgraded. The bed and linen comfortable and soft and the staff were amazing.

That Jamaican breakfast was awesome and the servings ample.

Everybody should try those chili wings on the lunch menu - simply dynamite.

Yes the room was very clean the staff was amazing and it show that the owner is on top of is biz it was a hurricane and they where prepared we had light hot water they told us the ac will not work so they gave us fan which did a great job it my go to spot whenever am in Portland love the pool the property clean lots of beautiful fords beautiful sea views amazing staff thank you to all the staff we appreciate you awesome service and I have to also big up the chef’s because the food was really good

My stay at Jamaica Palace Hotel was absolutely wonderful from start to finish! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm smiles and exceptional service. The check-in process was quick and easy, and the staff made sure I felt welcomed and informed about everything the hotel had to offer.

The room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable — the bed felt like sleeping on a cloud! I especially appreciated the little touches, like complimentary bottled water, plush towels, and the amazing view from my window.

The amenities were top-notch: the pool area was clean and relaxing, the on-site restaurant served delicious food with great variety, and the breakfast buffet was generous and fresh each morning. I also loved the convenient location — close to shops, restaurants, and local attractions.

But what really made my stay unforgettable was the staff. Everyone I encountered was friendly, attentive, and truly went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed.

I would highly recommend Jamaica Palace to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway. I can’t wait to return!

Beautiful property, the gardens surrounding the property are immaculate. This is a classic old hotel with art work in abundance everywhere, classic period furnishings are priceless. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was sumptuous. We had dinner there twice and the food was delicious. You should visit to see the art of the great Ken Abondano Spencer in a part of Jamaica brimming with natural beauty.

After booking online and arriving at the hotel we were told we had to pay a holding fee of USD 200. In this day and age we thought this to be very inconvenient and archaic. Of course when we tried paying this holding fee, the machine would not work for some of us and for others it ended up charging the card twice. Checking in took forever and a few of my friends had to change room because of sparkes flying from the light in the room.

Breakfast was ok and the staff we encountered in the morning seemed more knowledgeable about the operations. The beds were comfortable.

The Jamaica Palace Hotel is beautiful and the staff we welcoming and friendly. The rooms were adequately sized. The landscape and pool are gorgeous. It was a challenge to do early check in but the staff were able to accommodate us. The cons are there’s not any dining options nearby. It requires a drive 20 mins out to find food. The hotel doesn’t provide snacks or a little cafe for quick meals.

I booked two identical rooms and my friends room was noticeably smaller and not the same design on the wall so that was a bit meh but the stay was still great. Beautiful property, very nice pool. Complimentary breakfast that came with my stay was excellent. The room key was missing and the front desk person was nonchalant but again I only stayed one night so I didnt press the issue. When in Portland I would definitely stay there again.

This was my first time in Portland Parish, ao I wanted to stay close enough to town, so I could access the markets, restaurants, and other ammenities whenever needed. I read a lot of positive reviews about Jamaica Palace, so I decided to stay there. It was a lot more than I imagined. The old, colonial styled buildings were very well kept and elegantly adorned with paintings and sketches. The restaurant was very big, and it was set up in a sophisticated manner. The grounds and surrounding vegetation were well manicured. The staff was quite friendly, which was no surprise. The food was excellent, and the entire area was very peaceful.

We stayed at The Jamaica Palace Hotel during our road trip to Portland. The service from Ronnie & Simone was professional, friendly and welcoming. The room was as described in the hotel profile and couldn’t ask for any more. We had a look around the property and it has amazing views of the Caribbean Sea. The gardens and swimming pool are well maintained and beautiful too. I would like to say a special THANKS to Elizabeth for promise of mangoes on our stay. This hotel is a gem! It looks beautiful, has plenty of space and is great for a quiet stay. It is just missing a few touches that would make it great (etc. extra amenities such as a gym, tv in dinning room, cable in the rooms, access to open bar near the pool, concierge for things to do around the area, etc)

What I like most about this property is the staff, they are amazing. The friendly greeting at the gate by security to the warm welcome at the front desk (especially Tisha) and the gleaming smiles from the breakfast staff to start your day. Ms Elizabeth is always with a pleasant smile whenever you ran into during a walk. The property is very clean and housekeeping team always seems eager to keep such cleanliness intact at all times. However, the property is very dated, the rooms and bathroom would be so much brighter and lighter with an upgrade. Overall this place is one I would recommend if you need a quiet place to stay outside of town but not too far away. WiFi service was very good I got plenty of work done including zoom meetings.

Awesome Getaway location

We chose Jamaica Palace hotel for peace & quiet and it was awesome. We received great services from front desk and restaurant and the grounds was peaceful. Lots of mangoes too. The Jamaica shaped pool was warm and inviting and we spent memorable time in the pool and it rained also. That was a blessings. We will definitely return. All the staff were to be commended- the restaurant staff \"Y' and front desk and even the pool attendant was kind, professional. Hats off to Jamaica Palace hotel - 5 star in my book

Beautiful and clean property. Close to all the beaches. Sorry i could only afford to spend few days. I will go there again. Morgan, Sanya, and Rowan were very were very and polite. As a mayter of fact the whole staff was very professional. I would recommend Jamaica Palace Hotel anytime. Did not like how long the ride was from Kingston but i will definitely go back next year.

My husband and I paid extra for the superior room to be greeted by first being placed in the wrong room category and thereafter were told the hot water was not available at the time and would be fixed within a few hours. To our dismay the hot water was never fixed and we were told contradicting answers by front desk. Regrettably after paying $185 USD for this stay we had to shower in ice cold water. Not to mention the rooms were far from what is photographed on Expedia. Definitely a highly edited photo of what you really get. The room also had a very high musty scent. I complained to the manager about our poor stay and not to mention no hot water to only be told ‘well you were told on arrival there will be no hot water and it would be fixed’ it was never fixed! She also proceeded to inform us that no compensation can be issued due to us booking from a third party Expedia. This was nonsense and it is unfortunate that places like this continue to scam people.

This property has so much potential. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. Gorgeous views and lush gardens. Pool is nice and large.

The service is really lacking. It takes forever if you order off the a la carte menu (1 hr for a snapper fillet with french fries!) The bedroom and bathroom are really dated. You can tell nothing has been done in a long while to improve the place and it's a real shame. We won't be coming back.
