Geejam is a small piece of paradise for sure. Nestled along mountainside in a rain forest-like environment, it is impossible to be stressed here. Staff were amazing (kudos to Tishawney, Brian, Norton and Jada who ensured we were well taken care of) and the view of the ocean was impeccable. Geejam has lots of stairs so be prepared to get your heart rate up. It’s all worth it though. The rooms are spacious, the bathrooms are spacious and modern with good water pressure and temperature, and the food is delicious. Your room will either have a balcony or a jacuzzi depending on room type. I would definitely recommend staying here and would stay here again if in Portland.

The room was an experience in itself, the art and the decor were stunning. Very accommodating team, resturant had great food.

Only downfall was it's hard to leave the hotel, the excursions are way over priced and you can't walk out to arrange your own transport.

It’s a given that Geejam is a beautifully appointed hotel but the real gem is the staff. Spent the last few days at Geejam while they navigated no power and limited internet but they worked to ensure our comfort. Special acknowledgement to Nadine and Brian who went above and beyond!

I took a good friend to Port Antonio to see the place. The hotel was nice but thr stairs a disincentive for me and anyone else with weak legs. Cominicatoon needs improving. We asked for the wifi password and they said the sent it on whatsapp but we had no internet commention. Very laid back approach

From arrival to departure the staff were amazing. We were also lucky enough to meet Steve one of the owners of the resort and he was great, took time to welcome all the guests at dinner individually. The food and drinks were great. All the staff were very friendly and attentive without being too much. The accommodation and view's were amazing. It was my first visit to Geejam but it certainly will not be my last, I love it!!!

Excellent but far from perfect. Every day there was something not available and usually for several days. At dinner for example you would wait 30minutes for your food (that’s ok) but then the item is unavailable. You should know this within a few minutes of ordering or before. Not enough masks/snorkels. No champagne glasses. The new waterside bar/restaurant will be a good addition.

My husband and I celebrated his 50th Birthday in Jamaica and stayed at the beautiful Geejam Hotel. Our cabin was Rocksteady which had the most gorgeous water view from the room. What a way to wake up each morning!

Geejam was such a tranquil environment. Everyone was very kind and helpful, the facilities everywhere were very clean, and the grounds were well-kept.

We spoke to Steve, the co-owner multiple times and also were invited on a studio tour which was amazing! Steve was so down to earth and welcoming throughout our stay.

We explored Frenchman’s Cove, Winnifred Beach, downtown Port Antonio, and our favorite excursion was the River Raft with Captain Mark and lunch at Belinda’s. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Our drivers were experienced and made us feel safe the entire trip.

We loved Jamaica and especially this non-resort area. Geejam is a special place and we were honored to share in the history of it. We look forward to returning in the future.

2 night anniversary treat

Geejam was fantastic the only disappointment was we only booked 2 nights!! Will definitely return for longer next time,on our must return soon list. From the moment we arrived the staff couldn't of been more helpful and friendly. The room was just as pictures show ,we loved the artwork on the walls brought the jamaican vibe alive the view was breathtaking.OMG the food was delicious best oxtail and jerk chicken we have had. The swimming pool was great so warm and yet again the view WOW . Thank you Geejam( Steve and co)for a wonderful stay can't wait to return

Absolutely worth every penny. Service is so amazing - they really know what they're doing. Room was very well laid out with a stunning view of the ocean. The whole resort is tucked away in the mountainside like it's always been there. Love the way the buildings have been built around the existing nature so it all feels natural. We cannot wait to return.

Wonderful Stay!

This was our first visit to Geejam but it won’t be the last. Upon arrival, after 8pm, we were greeted very kindly by Saleema (please forgive me if that’s not how it’s spelled) who checked us in quickly and guided us to our room. What a beautifully appointed room! Spacious. Clean. Comfortable. Stacked with snacks and drinks. Could not have asked for more or better. In the morning, I was able to enjoy the view from our balcony and what a beautiful view it was! Can’t say enough about the bed! Perhaps the most comfortable bed and pillows in any hotel!! If we didn’t have to attend events daily we could have very easily stayed in the bed the entire time.
Every staff member we encountered was very pleasant, kind, willing to answer questions, and accommodate requests. The meals at Bushbar restaurant were delicious and the atmosphere enjoyable.
Looking forward to our return (after the Portland roads have been fixed!)

From the moment you escape into the serene jungles and sandy beach of Port Antoni specifically at Gee Jam, you can't help but slip away into a peaceful retreat. The service and staff make you feel like you're visiting old friends for a quiet weekend to disconnect. I cannot say enough about this little gem that is gee jam. amazing food and drink, people who want to help you enjoy your every moment, good vibes, good local eats, a beautiful beach with kayaks and snorkeling. It never ends. We enjoyed a beachside massage oh man! Don't think about staying anywhere else in Jamaica.

Geejam is just lovely, the rainforest experience is great. There is a small private artifical beach, it is nice, but it is quite a walk from the rooms; I would not come to Geejam if I was looking for a beach hotel, though the one time we went down Arthur was very nice helpful. We stayed in Mento and this was great; the view to the water is slightly obstructed by the trees but you get more of the rainforest experience, and the jazuzzi on the deck is a lot of fun. The infinity pool near Bushbar is lovely, most of the time we were the only people in the pool, and the view of the sea is magnificient. The food at Bushbar is just terrific, Chef Garth is a genius. . The entire staff is great; very friendly and helpful, Ava and Sidoney at Bush Bar were really nice.
A special shout out to Newton who worked hard to sort things out after we had a few mishaps with the Covid tests. They brought us a coffee maker and ground coffee upon request. The only slightly negative comment I have is about how a number of things (Eg: TV, some of the jacuzzie jets, the safe, the stream in the shower) were not working when we arrived; some of these got fixed, others didn't. But this is just a minor quibble, this is a lovely place, strongly recommended.

Serene stay with Sightseeing!

Serene stay. Captivating views and calm waters. Friendly staff. Tasty food. Blended drinks need some improvement, but try the Ting a ling! Also waiting for the bar by the beach :) Clean, comfortable rooms and balcony. Well kept grounds. Great Paddle boarding tour by Arthur of the Channel, Turtle Island and where the last James Bond movie was filmed!

It's a secluded piece of heaven. You feel like you've entered the lost garden of Eden. This hotel is situated in the mountain where you feel like your living in the rainforest and are on an island to yourself. The views are to die for and you feel like a celebrity (even though I've heard there are tons of famous artist that stay here for their studios and exclusivity). I'm an ordinary person that felt extraordinary in this amazing hotel. Floyd is an amazing host and will treat you good. Thanks again Geejam!

My mother and I had the pleasure of staying at the exquisite Geejam resort. We were greeted by Floyd the “manager extraordinaire”, who upgraded our room to the lovely Sanwood suite. An accommodating people-person, Floyd was familial in his interaction with both the staff and guests. The Geejam staff was gracious, affable and willing to go the extra mile to ensure our stay was a very comfortable and enjoyable one. The chefs prepared scrumptious bespoken meals which catered to my mother’s vegan lifestyle and my huge appetite for fresh authentic Caribbean food. Added to this potpourri, there is nature’s beautiful landscape with lush vegetation surrounded by a picturesque aquamarine sea; and the lovely town of Portland which is welcoming, safe and peaceful. Although we didn’t get to meet the owner, Mr. Beaver, the harmonious teamwork of his staff, business acumen of his manager Floyd, and maintenance of the resort grounds are a collective and true testament to the love, time and attention he has paid to hospitality management and people. We look forward to our next stay where we plan to up the ante in the Panorama villa. Until next time.

Beautiful cottages nestled in rainforest with views of the Caribbean Sea. No better setting for rest and relaxation. The cottage also came with a snack bar and a refrigerator well stocked with a variety of soft drinks. Enjoyed my stay.

Horrible service overall

I really wanted to love this place as I've heard good things. Normally, I'm a Goldeneye person but decided to make the drive to see Geejam. Worst decision.

Literally every single thing has been a horrible experience - from check-in to the room. Here's a list of problems we've had literally in less than 16 hours of being here:

1) No one was available at check-in. We were let in the gate and no one was to be found.. I called the hotel and finally someone came out but he was on his phone the entire time.
2) Room was not ready on time. It was 4:30 until room was ready and when we finally were let in the room, house cleaning was still there!
3) Hot tub was broken and did not heat up. We called 3 times and they said it was just taking time, but the next day it's still not hot. We literally chose this room because of the hot tub. Completely ruined experience.
4) We ordered coffee and ice after we finally go to our room. After one hour, no coffee was delivered. I called again to remind them, finally it was delivered. BUT they forgot the ice! Had to go back.
5) Ordered breakfast today and it took SO long. 1 hour and 20 minutes. When they got here, half of the stuff we ordered wasn't brought. I wanted pancakes AND eggs, and they only brought eggs. They then told me that pancakes aren't included - only one option is included in breakfast. Absolutely ridiculous. Horrible service.
6) Internet was COMPLETELY OUT and did not work.
7) There is no diet coke available on property .

Can't miss if privacy and relaxation are your goal

Overall, a wonderful stay. Definitely a boutique hotel -type stay, not a pack-your-schedule resort. We stayed in the 3BR villa which was lovely and very spacious. The restaurant is small, friendly and the menu well executed. My only wish would be that there was a bit more choice - perhaps a quicker rotation of entrees? We ate there frequently and exhausted the options. Thank being said, the food was very good. There is no concierge desk. Instead, you are given a cell phone to use to arrange excursions, spa treatments, etc. This works very nicely for the outings - just call when you are wrapping up your day at the beach or elsewhere. Effortless transportation to Blue Lagoon, Boston Beach (jerk pork & chicken), Reach Falls and Frenchman's Cove - all winners. The ocean was very choppy when we visited - so much so, that our scuba trip was cancelled by the diving group. I think staying in the Port Antonio area afforded us more fun than if we had been at a large resort with a wide open beach. We snorkeled off Monkey Island and body surfed very large waves at Frenchman's Cove without the worry of rip currents. The falls, with a guide, was a blast.

Hidden gem. Well worth the trip to get there.

Perhaps the coolest hotel on the island. The grounds are amazing...feels like a private rain forest with a gorgeous, hidden beach. Staff extremely friendly and helpful, good food at Bush Bar, and they will go out of their way to cater to your needs (food, tours, etc.). We had rain every day (May) so we'll definitely go back during the drier season.
