Nice property but understaffed on holiday weekend which led to very long waits at the lounge. Also, the smoldering logs in the courtyard seemed like a cool idea but the smoke lingered and made the rooms smell and messed up our sinuses. Needs a deep clean. But overall a good experience

Stayed Fri. 8/7/20- Sun 8/9/20 for a couples wknd. Hotel lobby and grounds are nice. Room was clean,came with refridgerator and coffeemaker. Sink next to small bathroom. Balcony overlooking lake would've been great, if it didn't have spiderwebs everywhere. Service at Highlands restaurant was very poor, waited 30 min and still no orders were taken. Bar restaurant food arrived at table cold. They took it back but it should'nt have happened

I booked a Lakeview room with Hotel.com with you. It definitely said lakeview. When I got there they gave me a parking lot view room. This was not a special request. It was what I paid for. They were neither nice nor apologetic about it. I have received more warmth and willingness to please a guest from Best Western. They did not move me.

It was a nice visit and the staff was kind, but the building needs upgrading and it needs to be modernized for the price you pay. There are still wall units for heat and air (no central air or heat), which makes for very dry, loud heat. The sink is in the main bedroom and the bathroom is so small you can barely shut the door without standing on the toilet. You can hear everyone enter and walk around in the rooms above and beside you. It's not worth the money you spend.

Lots of Potential But Needs Room Updating

Lovely setting despite rainy weather. Second time here since it is the closest hotel to relatives in the area. Once again the room smelled heavily like mildew. Metal stair trim was rusting. Doors to the room and within the room stuck very badly so hard to get in and out of the room - same with the bathroom. Looked like possible mold on the ceiling. The mildew odor is just very off putting. While the common areas in the lobby and restaurant are kept up nicely, the rooms are not. At a minimum the rooms need dehumidifiers to improve the situation.

Great time for our now annual girls weekend in Galena. Excellent service at the bar, front desk and clubhouse at the East golf course. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Only problems which were easily overlooked because of the great staff, was no bev cart person on course and it was 95 degrees, air conditioning not working in the bar on Friday night and it was packed and lastly, not enough dining room staff. We were seated and given menus and no one came back to serve us, so after 20 minutes, we went to the bar and ordered delicious food there for our second evening in a row. Waitresses were superb and fun! Guitar player was amazing. Just a really fun weekend at a beautiful property!

The property needs a facelift. The bathtub in room 312 is beyond disgusting. There were dead flies all over the balcony and the property looked as if it hadn't been painted in 10 years. Very disappointed with the property. The staff on the other hand were exceptional, especially Andrea in the restaurant and Trinity at the boat dock.

This is a lovely resort with lots of things to do. It is in good condition (not excellent) and the pricing is good. The room was clean and comfortable. My only criticism is that we should have been informed UPON OUR ARRIVAL that everything would require reservations, including breakfast, dinner, boat rentals, etc. We did not have any idea and as a result we lost out on the opportunity to rent a boat on Lake Galena.

My favorite thing about this resort is that you are a few minutes drive to Galena, but you are staying in a green, lovely area and not in town. We prefer the outdoors and lots of growing things so this was perfect for us.

The staff were SUPER friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant at the main lodge was good, and breakfast buffet was reasonable and with a great selection of items, including omelettes and eggs cooked to order.

The only real negative about our room is that the AC had to be put on hi cool and at 10 in order to cool the room down. I can't imagine it would have worked out well had it been really hot outside.

I did also notice that the tub had been resurfaced and the resurfacing is coming off - it only lasts so long and it is time to do it again. Room 214 for any resort staff reading this review. Otherwise the room is lovely and nice. There was a refrigerator, and there were two armchairs as well as a chair and table out on the balcony, which looked out into the woodlands.

We will definitely return in future.

We did NOT know we were getting an owners condo, decorated by themselves. Booking through Expedia, this was NOT specified. Our first place, we called it grandma's house. It was everything that you'd expect to see in your great grandma's house, dumped off into the living space. There was even a sewing machine in our room! We booked it as a romantic getaway...my husband said he didn't know if he could be romantic in his grandma's house, lol. We ended up getting a person's different living space...it was better...at least it moved up to the 90s. However, with us not knowing what we were getting into, our whole trip was really off...keep that in mind when you stay here...you should know the rooms you are getting...

The absolute only thing that was a little troublesome was the lock on our sliding glass door did not lock. We reported it to the front desk and they said someone would come up to take a look at it. We never got an update and it never got fixed. The actual latch on the sliding glass door appeared to latch but if you pulled hard on the handle the door still slid open :(

Beautiful views of Lake Galena!

The property was beautiful and the hotel amenities were great. We were just OK with the room itself, other than the balcony overlooking Lake Galena. That was breathtaking. With Eagle Ridge, I guess I expected something more polished for the room. We did not have any heat, they came and took out the wall unit, wheeled it away and put in a new one. I’m glad it was an easy fix, just kind of surprised at the whole thing. Overall, we went there to get away and decompress and that’s what we did.

Overall, it was a really nice place with very pretty views. The room was pretty modern and it was very clean. My only gripe was we had a first floor lake view room and I smelled musty in the room and was very humid even with the AC on. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The main downtown area is about 20 min away from the resort, I didn’t mind the drive, however I wish there was more around the resort or wish that the places inside the resort stayed open later. I would def. stay here again. Waking up to the lake view everyday was ideal.

Newly remodeled rooms but NO MICROWAVES! A cheap accessory that goes a long way!
Pool was filthy -- close to questionable for entry. Steam was "still not working" even after a week of repairs. Sauna was small.
Stonedrift Spa was fully booked on Sat for weddings and unwilling to take our requests for Sunday.
Over all a bit disappointing. Another visit I would check out other hotels in the area. This is our 2nd time at Eagle Ridge and we thought they were maintaining the property better than we found it. Sad ....

We went to Eagle Ridge for my wife's Birthday. The place is beautiful set on rolling hills surrounded by golf course's. Just 10 minutes out of downtown Galena . Everyone working there was fantastic and we were treated very well. Our room was a beautiful King size room with a real wood burning fireplace. I would also highly recommend the Sunday brunch.

Booked a romantic weekend away with my husband. First time staying at Eagle Ridge. Heard nothing but great things. Expectations were high. Checked in to our King Suite. Rooms were recently renovated. On the surface it looked good, room was not my expectation of a King Suite. I stayed in much nicer King Suites in other cheaper hotels. Room view was great. Bathroom vanity and dresser drawers were all dirty. Dresser draws had pet hair in each of them. There was no cream, sugar or stirrers in basket for coffee maker. Didn't realize you had to walk outside if you wanted to go to pool. Ordered room service first night. Waited two hours and received a frozen burger microwaved in the container. After on hold several times and additional phone calls received food 15 minutes later burgers raw in middle. Booked dinner reservations second evening in advance. Order taken right away. Table beside us arrived 30 minutes after us. They received salad, bread and meal before we were even served our starter. Had to ask for salad and bread. For the cost of dinner, I expected better. Will not return.

Very nice property on the outside. Old outdated resort despite some indication of updating. Two queen beds nice size room, shower better than expected. ONE small sink outside of bathroom none inside the bathroom. Impossible for two people to get ready at same time. Sports Bar ? was ok, but couldn’t get a table or seat until late due to all of the children there eating. Service was good, no complaints there. If your attending an event there spend the 15 minutes driving to another hotel and get a nicer room for a lot less. If you stay there bring your own pillows, their mini pillows didn’t work well for me.

We got an upgrade for our room which was very nice. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. The water in the pool was cool and I would have expected to have a hot tub in the pool area. We were there for 2 nights and our room wasn't vacuumed. The meals we ate in the resort was good except for the hamburger my wife had-she wasn't happy with that meal. The grounds were well kept-the area is very nice and close to town.

The prroperty was listed as a two room bungalow, but required filling two separate spaces titled "room" resulting n the renting of TWO BUNGALOWS at an exorbitant price. Birthday weekend with friends

The hotel was lovely and appointed well. However, the ice machine was out of order, there were no microwave in the rooms several areas around the stairwells were in much need of rust removal and painting. Lastly, for a room holding four guests, towels were in short supply.

Bathroom was like the 20 th hole. Terrible bath. When I moved the chair it appeared the room had not been cleaned for months. For these rates I require much more. My family will not return.
