The room was fun and cozy. Had the aquarium room. Mood lights in the room with a clam bed and actual fish aquarium. Great setup and amenities fridge and microwave. The jetted tub and spa shower was awesome fun. With a sauna. Recommend trying it out. The breakfast was really good. The on prem pool and hot tub was excellent to use.

Breakfast pretty good! View out back of woods nice and the indoor/outdoor pool was a plus. I was bummed the little weight room was not really useable with the treadmill key missing and no tv remote to be found. Our room was clean and fairly updated so we were pleased all around.

Checking in was easy; the lobby smelled so clean putting a great first impression. The room was very clean as well, all things in all the right places. The bed was firm in the best way helping to reduce feeling other moving throughout the night. The shower pressure was amazing, it's hard to find such a thing in a hotel so much appreciated. It was nice to have Happy Joe's so close after a day of hiking, grabbing a pizza right there made life easy. This was my 2nd stay in seven month and it was another great stay. Thank you!

check in easy and fast, so was the check out. room was huge, clean and fun. huge shower, bathroom and sauna. hot tube was big enough for 2 people. some of the jets did not work right but it was very relaxing. the cave theme was spot on. we felt as though the only thing to make it better was pictures and a 24-hour
channel of the Flintstones.

The check-in manager was helpful, kind, and considerate and addressed a small issue in the room immediately--much appreciated. The room and bathroom was in good shape and the balcony with chairs facing the woods was a great feature to the property. The pool could have been a little warmer, but not bad considering it was connected to the outdoor pool while being freezing outside- would be a very cool feature in warmer weather! The indoor hot tub was just what we needed. Breakfast was not good. Waffles and eggs were ok but other breads/pastries were stale, fruit was bruised and in bad shape, and didn't even touch the ham- did not look appetizing at all. Overall, very doable for what we needed-thank you.

Room wasn’t ready or clean at 3pm. Cold water didn’t work on the hot tub to cool it down. Ice machine at the hotel didn’t work. The employee at the check in did great to help. No knock on him. He did the best he could with what he was given.

I was extremely disappointed with my stay at this location and would not recommend it.
The room and facilities were outdated and poorly maintained. There were no updated outlets or usable plugs—the outlets were so loose that it was difficult to plug anything in or keep chargers connected.
During our stay, I was bitten by bed bugs. I have included photos showing the bites that appeared afterward. This is completely unacceptable and raises serious cleanliness and health concerns.
The sauna was not functional—it was cold, and there was no visible temperature control or indication that it was working at all. Additionally, there was visible mold on the divider between the indoor and outdoor pool areas, which is especially concerning in a humid environment where cleanliness should be a top priority.
To make matters worse, the staff experience was unpleasant. The woman working during breakfast was rude and refused to allow us, as paying guests, to change the TV channel. This interaction felt unnecessary and unprofessional.
The only positive part of this stay was the woman who checked us in — she was kind, helpful, and professional. Unfortunately, that was the only bright spot.
Between the bed bug bites, mold, non-functioning amenities, outdated electrical outlets, and poor customer service, this stay was not worth the cost. I strongly suggest management address these issues immediately for the safety and comfort of future guests.

Only had coffee and water. We use Best Western all the time!! This Hotel needs a fresh make over rooms smell musty. We came to Galena for the first time, being the town that it is for Christmas and how many people visit your corporate office need to get this place festive and redone if you need help give me a call!! Not the warm feeling I expected with the other Best Western we have stayed!

The mattresses were absolutely terrible! Both of the queen beds in our room were awful! Very limited breakfast menu. The chair at the desk was tattered and broken. The dispensers in the shower had both the conditioner and body wash were completely empty. The rooms were spacious with a nice small outside balcony

The staff was great but we had the jetted tub room which was nice but our neighbors had one too but when they kept turning on the water then it sounded like water pipes bursting and they kept running it from 9 pm until 3 in the morning and we got no sleep and I definitely will not recommend those rooms! I wish the hotel could have helped to make things more quiet but they wanted us to move but we were there first so just wasn’t an option and it was our Anniversary so just a bit upset but not sure what you can do to make it right? We checked in and the room smelled horrible. Tried to turn on the air conditioner to get some air moving and it did not help the room smelled like a damp unfinished dirt floor basement. We also walked the pool area and it appeared as if it hadn’t been cleaned in quite some time. We notified the front desk we would not be staying checked out and went down the road and found a very clean well kept hotel and had an amazing stay at the different hotel. I would not recommend staying here it is clear they have quit caring about the upkeep of their property. While charging the same rates as the other hotel which was clean smelled great and looked like management cared.

This motel was a total surprise! We wanted a cheap motel and knew that we could live with whatever we found. This motel could really improve its business with a bit of remodeling and cleaning of the outside. It looks shabby from the road. However, it was great on the inside. The breakfast area and hallway were very clean. Our room was huge and so clean! The beds were comfortable. The bathroom seemed new, and we lacked for nothing -- an iron, an ironing board, a new toilet, sink, and shower, and a hair dryer in the bathroom. It was all great. Breakfast was fine but could have used more warming. Juice, coffee, and waffles were great. We were pleasantly surprised and would go here any day!! Thanks to all.

The hotel was in a convenient location for us to tour Galena area. Room was clean and comfortable but had limited outlets to charge phone and other devices. Was also kind of dark. We parked on lower level lot to access our room and trash can outside entrance was overflowing. First time I went out to parking lot, mouse ran right in front of the door. More attention could be given to outside maintenance at this entry. Breakfast was okay and convenient, well stocked.

Loved staying the cave room so much. What a cool experience! We stayed for one night, and enjoyed the hottub with tv. Didn't realize there was a sauna when booking! Didn't have a chance to use it though. The breakfast was not great – just cereal and make your own waffles, and not great eggs/sausage. No fruit or anything else healthy. Also there were no forks so had to scavenge for them in the drawers.

You get what you pay for. It was cheap so I can't complain to much, as it was only $112 a night. However, the beds are very hard and after the second night, our backs will killing us. The room also had a musty mildow smell, thank goodness for the balcony door which keep that open helped tremendously! The whirlpool is is huge and awesome! Great shower as well!

Perfect for fun couples!

Clean and tidy. Very cozy and romantic. Just a bit stuffy with a strong moldy smell at the beginning from lack of airing it out hours prior but eventually your nostrils get used to it or the fan finally circulates the air around.
Besides that minor detail, I LOVED IT!!

Hotel was run down, room was clean but pool was full of leaves building run down. Vending machines empty. The breakfast was decent. Asked for a room facing the parking lot, that didn’t happen, asked if there was a shuttle to town was told yes but when we got there , there was no shuttle. Only on weekends. Had to ask for the room to be cleaned. Not worth 100.00 a night!
