It is a very clean hotel, safe place to stay even safe to walk on the street at night time, staff are very helpful, accessible to dining places, Khaosan Road nice place to dine esp at night time, is very close, only few minutes walk, close to The Grand Palace Temple and few others. I would recommend this place to friends and will definitely use this hotel if ever I will come back to Thailand.

Tara Place was very clean with no pests in sight and the rooms get bottled water every day. The hotel building is well maintained too. That’s what I liked about it. The mattresses were awful, though; it was very hard to sleep in them. So much so, that we had to shorten our stay in Bangkok. The property is located walking distance from Khao San Road, which is nice and picturesque. It’s a two-star hotel, so that’s exactly what you’ll get. Heads-up, bring cash with you (Thai Baht) because the deposit for the room is in cash. They don’t take your credit card.

A quiet place for central Bangkok. A 10 minute walk to the fabulous Khaosan road market. Central location. We walked to the national museum and were a close taxi ride to Wat Pho and Wat Arun. Staff was polite and courteous. Not many amenities but tons of shops and restaurants in the immediate area. The free tuk tuk service is limited but a nice bonus. Convenient location. The room was basic but fine, especially for the price, about $35 usd per night. Lots of Eurpean visitors in the area.

Tara Place was a wonderful hotel to stay in for a few days in Bangkok. The entire hotel was clean, well-kept, and the staff was professional and courteous. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed, from a/c to locking safe. There was a small window with a nice view (could see the top of Emerald Buddha Temple), and you could watch the sunrise from lovely shared balcony/terrace on the fourth floor. There are plenty of food options nearby the hotel, both restaurants and street food. Speaking of options nearby, Tara Place was easy to find and very centrally located for access to points of interest. We could walk to Khao San Road in minutes, and could have even walked to several temples with a bit of a longer trek. The hotel provides several free shuttle services daily, but we didn’t end up using them as we liked the walk. I have nothing but good things to say about this place!

The only thing is the blower on our AC didn’t work well and the room never cooled down enough. I also feel this was just our unit, #402. None of the other guests seemed to have an issue.

Perfect hotel in Bangkok

No complaints about this hotel! Room was basic (we got standard double) but clean and enough space. The hotel location is great, we chose to stay here as we only had three days in bangkok and wanted to be near the main sites, Wat Pho and Grand Palace. The hotel has complimentary tuk tuk service to these sites. The front desk was very professional, friendly an on point. The hotel is not near the public transport MRT or BTS but taking a metered taxi or grab was realtively inexpensive. There was no breakfast but there was a coffee/tea station with free cakes and snacks. Walk a min or two down the street and you could grab some grilled meat on a stick for breakfast. Great stay at Tara Place!

This is a hotel just to sleep, no extra amenities, it is what you pay for it, very close to Kao San Road and Thanon Rd, walkable distance, as it is difficult for people to speak English in Thailand if you take a tuk tuk or taxi they won't know where the hotel is, just keep an hotel business card with the address with you all the time.

Hotel and location were ok (a bit far to walk to major sites). They advertise tuk-tuk service, but it's actually only to the Grand Palace and at fixed times. So a bit misleading and not very useful. I overlooked the conditions but for the price we were charged we expected breakfast to be included which was not the case.

The best part about Tara Place was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The hotel is well situated, near to everything, and well maintained. It is a bit worn but to be expected. We had a short stay at Tara Place in June ‘18. The hotel has basic facilities but is modern, clean, bathrooms are really nice, Air con is good (much needed!), service is excellent and the location is very good. Easily walkable to Khaosan Road. Photos make it look less modern than it is. There’s no restaurant but they have a discount breakfast with the cafe opposite which is cheap and cheerful. Best part was them letting us check in at 7am after a long and sleepless overnight train - absolute lifesaver! Couldn’t have been more grateful. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Well located hotel for every type of visit

The hotel is very well located with free transfer by tuk-tuk to Kao San Road and Grand Palace. Walking distance from Kao San Rd and to the boat terminal, taking you with ease to the southern part of the city. Staff very kind but short on English. That might became a challenge when you try to get better and deeper information on how to get around the city, but they sure make an effort.
By the way, the massage place in front of the hotel is probably the best I had in Thailand.
Note: the hotel doesn't offer breakfast, so you can have a good one in the coffee shop in the corner in front of the hotel or from a 7/11 a cross the street.

Fairly good location -- walking distance to Khao San Road, Grand Palace, restaurants. The room facing away from the street was quiet. Never did use the tuk-tuk service as we kept forgetting to book it. Can't comment too much on the breakfast; you get a coupon from the front desk for use at the restaurant in front, but it really only gets you a couple of bucks off. All we wanted was a good cup of coffee and they delivered. Staff was friendly.

Tara Place was clean, well kept l, a good value, and a short walk to the night life of Kao San Rd, about 1km. I arrived around 7am, and check in was not until 2pm. They allowed me to store my bags, and I spent the day walking to Reclining Buddha, and the other government buildings before check in. In total I walked around 21km that day. Definitely a safe and walkable area.

After reading so many reviews of poor service and unacceptable conditions I was scared. I didn't think I would find a semi decent hotel. I took a chance and I was truly happy with my choice of the TARA PLACE.

Staff helpful. Can always ask questions. Like pastries snack served daily. Free tuk tuk service to Grand Palace and Khao San Road. Best way to assess hotel is take airport link to last stop, Phaya Thai, 45 Baht/person. Down lower level, you will find authorities when you exit the elevator, where authorities can arrange a taxi service based on meter. At the airport information booth, I had them write Tara Place address in Thai so I can show the taxi drivers.
Staff at Tara Place would hail a taxi for me, suggest restaurants nearby, and how to get around. The bus system is complicated and time consuming.

Fantastic stay! Great location and helpful staff. Free water, snacks, city map, and shuttle to grand palace helped make our trip fab!
Room is adequate for needs aside from a slightly hard bed, only one pillow, and a leaking shower. It didn’t upset our stay though.

I hate to leave anything negative about this clean, quaint hotel bc the staff is absolutely wonderful and accommodating. Top notch service and great little touches like free coffee and snacks, but I don’t know if I slept at all the one night I was a guest. As a light sleeper, I could hear the doors slamming as guests come in and out all night long...well until at least 3am. Prob ideal for those up late idk bc I was up very early @ 6am for a tour or wear earplugs and you will enjoy the place!

Helpful staff to help unpack from vehicle, and to help organise taxis to get around town. Booked family room, but as our flight arrived early prior to checkin times, we were able to leave luggage in storage room. However they were able to get one room ready earlier, which was a massive bonus for us with 3 small jetlag kids. A huge thank you to the staff who organised that for us. Good breaky at cafe in front, and can recommend the \"Greengarden cooking school\" a few minutes walk away for good cheap delicous meals, and great cooking lessons.

We stayed at Tara Place for a couple of nights and really liked it. Staff were friendly. Location was not super but not inconvenient either. So we decided to stay here again after we came back from Phuket. We drove to Tara Place with our rental car. No parking for guests at Tara. We had to park at a hotel a couple of blocks away. When I asked the check-in lady if it was ok for us to park on the street, her answer was sarcastic: \"yes, and then police will charge you 1,000 baht\", she sneered. I didn't know why she could not simply tell me street parking was not allowed... Then she continued in that sarcastic tone to inform me that it was my fault not to read fine prints on booking website myself. Well I was not even asking for a parking spot from her. I was only asking for advice on a convenient parking option. Throughout the checking process, I had to take her impatient expression on the face. She was so obviously annoyed by our showing up with a car at her hotel. She did not show a slight sign of smile to us at all. Another thing I did not understand was their rule of loading from your vehicle. They do not allow personal vehicle closer to their entrance even when there was lots of space. We had to load and unload 8 luggage from afar when it should be perfectly fine to park in front of the hotel for a few minutes max.

A great hotel at reasonable price.

The hotel is great. It has a lot of details that make people feel at home. Love it. Only thing is the shower - water not warm.

Clean affordable hotel

I wanted to try this area and explore its vicinity, it is clean affordable hotel, good hotel staff. It is little far from anything like tourist places or shopping places. Probably I will not book it for my next visit because of its location only.

Great Location

This is my second time staying at the hotel. The rooms are clean,comfortable, and safe. The staff are freindly and helpful. The hotel provides free coffee, tea, and snacks. Anything you would like to do while in Bangkok can be arranged at the hotel. Will be staying there again next year.
