A basic no frills hotel in a quite location which is within walking distance of Dundee City Centre.

My room and bathroom were very clean with a comfortable bed and plenty of towels. It would be better if the cleaner removed the black marks around the external light switch on the wall outside the bathroom door.

The carpet in the hallway leading to my room could have benefited from being thoroughly swept clean.

The restaurant offers a menu which is better than most similar hotels. My evening meal on the night of my arrival (Boeuf Bourguignon) was tasty but could have been much hotter. I would avoid the Dundee Marmalade Bread and Butter Pudding on the Dessert menu.

A very obliging Breakfast Waiter arranged to make some porridge for me on the morning of my departure.

There are very pleasant receptionists working in the hotel.

Coffee machine did not work.....Was asked for a deposit at reception when I arrived although room was paid.....At breakfast there was no plates , so asked for one and was given a very small size one.....The receptionist came and asked for the breakfast bill to be paid when I was still eating , she said she had a lot of admin duties..... ( ??? ), so will not come back

The rooms require some T L C your room was cold but when asked the staff to look at the heating they supplid heater that was fine. Brekfast was poor and only one member of staff serving. I have tried meny hotels in dundee and this one come bottom would not book an other stay.

DUNDEE INDIGO - 4 Rooms booked for Christmas works night out. The hotel room and initial check in were both excellent, the breakfast, at an additional cost for the 4 rooms booked wasn’t! Total lack of food at the buffet, supposed to be a stand by service, we were handed a menu on arrival at the restaurant to choose our freshly cooked to order breakfast but we never got approached by the 2 staff on service so had to wait along with the other guests for the odd half cooked offerings that eventually came out of the kitchen to the buffet. After speaking with a manager who had no answers to why this was happening agreed and offered a refund for the cost of breakfast. This booking was through Expedia so we were told that he would have to consult with Expedia to issue a refund and now 1 week down the line I am still waiting for an email from Indigo.

The 2 faults that needed attention were after a night of heavy rain. Window was letting water in. The sink in the bathroom was dripping from the pipe underneath. Both were fixed quickly & professionally. Staff were excellent. Will be back.

Check in was ok until they wanted to charge £50 to my credit card incase of any damages. Usually they take a copy of your card, not charge it.
Breakfast was mediocre as the hot buffett food was either under or overcooked.
Room was nice and spacious however they may want to turn the vacuum cleaner on before pushing it around, also the bedding was stained.

The style of the hotel and rooms is modern and pleasant. The rooms were roomy and clean when we checked in. However, no one serviced our room for the three nights we were there other than to bring fresh towels when I asked. Our room was stuffy and the air conditioning system did not work. When I reported this, the hotel sent in a “service team” to “adjust the settings,” but this only seemed to work for 24 hours and we could not make changes. While the food in the attached restaurant is good quality, the place is short staffed and so service is slow (though friendly and apologetic—they are doing their best.). The ground floor bar area is pleasant and well staffed in the evening. There is potential here but the hotel needs leadership to bring up the level of service and the standards of the rooms.

Tv remote broken 2 towels for 3 guests had to ask twice for an extra pillow and the cleaners left a bag of rubbish in our room
Was not told at booking they would be taking £50 of us whilst staying there which I still have not received backi. Parking dreadful told staff I had a blue badge but didn’t care that I couldn’t walk very far.

We had a warm welcome at reception and were pleasantly surprised at the high quality of our room. It was on the top floor, at our request, so ceilings were sloped. The only thing that concerned me was the lack of ability to get out in an emergency. Location is a bit out of the way, but worth it for the high quality of the hotel and not really a problem, even when walking.

A wonderful overnight trip

Can't recommend the hotel highly enough. The room was wonderful with some lovely imaginative decorative touches - particularly the Dundee Cake recipe! Staff were all really friendly, and when they found that we were there to celebrate our wedding anniversary we received a couple of complimentary drinks too. It's those little touches that really make the difference.

We will without doubt be back next time we visit Dundee.

The Welcome Letter stated that breakfast was till 10.30, seven days a week. Came down at 9.30 to be told breakfast was finished. Apparently the 10.30 finish was only at weekends. Otherwise the hotel was very good.

We stayed here last year and had an excellent stay and were excited to return. Sadly this year was not as good as last year. We received early check in last year which was great but unavailable this year but that couldn’t be helped. No welcome cookie this year either. Very slow at check in, only one lady at the desk to begin with. Room nice and clean, hotel very hot and calmly this year. Cooler outside than in. Breakfast was the main let down. Restaurant looked dirty and untidy with half empty serving area, lots of dirty dishes on tables from previous guest not removed. The tea was disgusting as hot water from same machine as coffee and tainting hot water. All bakery baskets half empty and poor selection of cereal, pain rice Krispies would have been fine for children. Unfortunately just a disappointing stay and not same friendly vibe as last year.

Rooms were brilliant. This hotel was an old Jute mill and the room reflected that with some original features mixed with modern facilities. Rooms were spacious and had everything you need. Coffe machine and pods .. fridge with complimentary water was a nice touch. Breakfast was good .. buffet style and had decent selection. Only negatve with breakfast was that there was no haggis. Rest of hotel was reslly well pesented although had to queue for 20 mins at reception to check in but that more because there was a festival on and place was busy. Car parking was there but small and all spaces filled .. had to park in close by council car park so not a major issue.

Good menu. The quietest air condition I have ever known in the bedroom - and it was needed in this heatwave. Bar was great along with huge comfy sofas.

The room was very large and the bed was very comfortable. The location was 10 mins or so to the city centre by foot. Since there didn’t seem to be many places to eat nearby, I had both breakfast and dinner at the restaurant. On one of the days, at about 7 am, the breakfast was very crowded and the food kept running out. This was very frustrating. The following day was less crowded and I was offered a menu where I could also choose an ala carte dish. I did though they brought a wrong dish. So the service at the restaurant was not great as they could be more attentive. Nevertheless a pleasant stay in Dundee.

My main reason for using this hotel was that it had a fridge, i needed one to keep medication in and had emailed the hotel before we went.I was disappointed to find out it was a mini bar and couldnt get to the temperature I needed it to. After speaking to the receptionist i was able to get it put in
the staff fridge. The staff were all friendly even though i had to ask every evening to get my medication.
What lets this hotel down is the food, the breakfast buffet was never hot and the plates were cold. The special orders were good because they were cooked when ordered. The restaurant menu was not to our taste and when we had a meal in the bar it arrived warm. The hotel is really nice and we did enjoy our break but the food side let it down.

The hotel is very nice and the facilities very nice, an intransigence of being willing to shift my second night to Newcastle due personal circumstances was a bit baffling despite me willing to pay more.
The modern traveller has stuff happen from time to time and the reaction to those hiccups a can make or break good service. The staff could've done more but didn't and appeared to just want to move on as quickly as possible
