The hotel is just ok since it needs some maintenance and paint work all over. Check in staff was not welcoming at all. No interaction but to request for our passports only and give us our room key. Literally, that and picking your keys from a box in an envelope with our names on it, would've been the same. Amenities felt poor considering that it's a 4 star hotel. I have stayed at lower category hotels and had more room amenities than this one. Thus, I guess this is a good enough option if you only need a place to sleep.

Are you sure this is a 4 star? Didn't see any obvious amenities to justify the rating. No business lounge, not even a quiet room to work in. Outlets v. sparse in public areas and even in the rooms (none by the bed).

Rooms were huge but showing their age. Fridge didn't work (leaked in fact). Some of the public areas seem quite unkempt/scruffy e.g lounge furniture. Didn't eat or drink there so can't comment on that.

Having said all that, great location close to the cathedral in the old district, near everything.

Ademas al reservar a través de esta plataforma me cobraron mas de 30€ por habitacion, que me hubiese ahorrado si hubiera hecho la reserva directamente en el hotel. No volveremos

It's fine ... not great... Needs updating

Loved the location. Easy to see everything Burgos has to offer on foot from this historic hotel.

Room was large and quiet.
Furniture was old, some stains on the couch. As you can see from the pictures carpets were torn, lamps were broken and an electrical socket just fell apart.... So overall we paid too much for this hotel.

Also, no coffee in the room.
Coffee in the lobby needs to bought from a machine...

Wow, what a wonderful surprise. Gorgeous hotel in the heart of the old city. Very convenient for the Cathedral all the lanes with bars restaurants and shops. And the hotel is designed and decorated in keeping with the history all around it. Lovely welcome and fantastic room. Underground parking too

Lovely OldTown Hotel

A little tricky to drive to being in a pedestrian area but well worth the effort.
We had an enormous bedroom with Seperate lounge and a Juliet balcony in each of them.
Spotlessly clean. Friendly staff andnice breakfast.
Parking is under the hotel and quite tight if you have a large car.
All in all, we lived it and would recommend it!

We were surprised at how nice the rooms were—large and nicely appointed. Beds were comfy. I'd definitely stay again.

We had a little difficulty getting to the hotel because we didn't realize it was in a restricted zone and that we had to use an intercom at the barrier to gain entrance.

Instructions on how to find and service

Nice hotel and location let down by the service. We booked because of food reviews but we were unable to get a drink at the bar although pressed the button as instructed to get service waited for ages but no one came and the tasting menu was not appealing . Breakfast was a disaster and the waiter clearing tables was in a dream and so miserable nearly all tables had signs of previous guests and the buffet was either all empty or non existent . On requesting the hot be refilled as empty it took 20 minutes for it to appear . No plates no glasses and had to keep asking for items needed . Disappointed as it had excellent reviews for its breakfast. We did eat in the hotels associated restaurant in the square Puerta Real which the hotel receptionist recommended and gave us a leaflet that gave us 5% off out restaurant bill it was excellent and made up for disappointment at the hotel. Burgos was worth a visit and it should be noted that sat Nav takes you the right way to hotel but be aware there is a bollard system into the town which is confusing if you are not aware but you have to follow instructions advise you are staying at the hotel and it will allow entry good luck finding the hotel!!!! The receptionist was very helpful.

I got a cut on my head and was bleeding, and the staff immediately gave me an ice bag, which stopped the bleeding. After that whenever I went by the front desk, the receptionist always asked how I was doing. This was very appreciated.
The breakfast buffet was OK, but not excellent. It should be avoided when there is a large tour group eating.

Don't go there if you use a car. It was extremely difficult to get into the city with closed streets, and only with the help of a taxi driver, also during social events in the streets, could we make it. The staff is friendly, especially Mrs. Laura. The bathroom is absurd, the WC is too small (physiology of males is different from females and children), they made them circular to impress. But it is too bad. The shower has no protection bars. The worst bathroom for the price. Breakfast ok, but not good serrano ham, strange in a hotel of that class. Go to a different Rice Palacio in the city.

The most important thing about this hotel is the location, just steps away from the Burgos Cathedral and surrounded by restaurants, bars, cafes, … despite that, we couldn’t hear any noise from our room ( on the 2nd floor).

The room and bathroom were spacious and we also had a separate sitting room.

Very friendly staff and easy parking onsite.

Good quality/price ratio !

Fantastic location bars, restaurants, cathedral and shops. Hotel, breakfast fantastic and staff excellent going that extra mile. The bed was firm which I prefer. All 5 stars and I am picky! Will definitely go back again.
Down side, not affecting rating, is getting to the hotel from the main road via pedestrian streets - Contact hotel for information and a map highlight this access. Car park under hotel is safe but a little tight when full. We managed with a small suv and a number of manoeuvres.

Hotel.com do not provide enough essential information. I’d book direct with the hotel.

Very comfortable hotel right in the middle of the city, just a couple of minutes from the cathedral and with plenty of restaurants around. Despite the noise in the street, our room was perfectly silent through the night! Breakfast was delicious. We used the hotel parking, and actually getting there with the car was the only challenge, since all the streets around it are pedestrian only. Apparently you have to get permission from the authorities in advance, which we didn't know. Will be happy to return if we're not driving, though!

I feel like this was false advertising. The staff were lovely, but the rooms were dirty - the hotel overall is tired, faded and old. Too expensive for that! The buffet is abysmal. Like seriously - everything was at least 2 days old and there was a whole lot of nothing. Not worth what we were charged at all. But the staff were friendly and nice.

I don't recall them asking if we needed any help or information about Burgos, suggestions on where to eat or places to check out. We are pretty self-sufficient, but it's still nice to be asked in case we do have questions, especially for a place that is rated four stars. We got a good deal, but probably would not stay there again unless it we got a similar deal on the price.
