Not as good as our normal stay, no welcome drink which apparently you only get when booking directly. They’ve removed the coffee machines from the rooms which is a shame. Bed felt more uncomfortable than previous stay too. Clean and convenient, nice bathroom but a shame the experience of staying here has declined.

This is a lovely hotel with a gym and pool in a great location. However, it was let down by the unwelcoming, unfriendly and unhelpful staff. While I appreciate that we speak different languages, we have received warm welcomes at eight lovely hotels on our trip across France and Spain. Being given maps, advice about where to eat, local sites, hotel amenities, restaurants times etc. On arrival here I explained that we were 20 minutes early and asked if I could park. The gentleman said they have a garage, took my car registration number, then stared at me blankly. I had to ask where the garage was and how I gained access, neither of which I could have known. When we returned later to check in the lady on reception was efficient but robotic, she handed us our key, stared at us and asked rudely \"do you want something else like parking?\" We replied that we had already parked but felt thoroughly dismissed. We went out again and on returning that evening asked the same lady about using the pool, and where we got towels from. She answered from reception as if we were stupid. As we walked towards the lift we were chased by the male receptionist who had been present at check in and asked about the pool. He loudly asked infront of another guest what our room number was, as if we were entering the hotel with criminal intent. Such a shame as it would have been perfect place to stay with friendly staff. Maybe the staff mentioned were having a bad day, but we have not experienced this before

Glitzy modern hotel. Excellent position for old town and it's amazing cathedral. Difficult road access by motorbike and parking good but expensive.
Our room wasn't ready at 2.00. Staff apologetic but ...!
No restaurant running that day but bar food available and OK.
The advertised view from it's high position is compromised by the trees growing in front.

We stayed here for a couple of nights. The hotel is lovely located on a hill overlooking the city with a short walk to the Center.
Our room was clean modern with everything we needed.
Breakfast had lots of choice and plenty of it.
Parking was available for a fee.
The staff were extremely welcoming and informative.
Overall a nice place to stay for our trip to Burgos

Great location for visiting old town, garage parking (at a fee) but well worth it. A light bright and airy large hotel. Breakfast of a good standard with many choices. Staff very pleasant and friendly. Didn’t use restaurant in evening. Room very good size with patio and chairs at rear. Coffee machine provided but no creamer or free bottled water. Would recommend

Planned to stay for 3 days and then move on, but found it so good we stayed extra days. The road works carrying on outside, meant there was no other traffic, so was actually really quiet. Great location, and nice extra touches with fresh water and dates available, as well as fizz or coffee available on the large terrace

With the roadworks it was very hard to find the route in to the hotel. Despite walking to the hotel and asking for guidance we wasted over 30mins trying to get to the hotel. The hotel was hosting a party the evening we stayed which meant the restaurant was not open - it would have been helpful to have been informed of this before we arrived. The limited food available was from the bar which ws not very helpful for my 2.5 year old son. Because of the party the noise level was very high and went on beyond 3am, which meant a very poor nights sleep. Not impressed with the consideration given to guests over the need to host a party.

We enjoyed our one night stay here. Hotel is as advertised. Room is elegantly furnished and very roomy. We enjoyed the vast selection of food at the breakfast buffet. The covered onsite parking of 19.90 Euros is high but the parking space is roomy, unlike the other hotels' parking we experienced which were very tight. Hotel's location is a short walk to the Burgos Cathedral and to it's many shops and restaurants.

Spacious room. All very well presented. However, the reception was on top of a hill. You could drive a car up the single track but then one car blocked all the others. Car parking expensive and awkward. The cost for our dog was astronomical. Unlike other Spanish hotels, no dog bed, bowls etc provided.

Would have been nice to have been moved to a room with better AC. Outdoor bar at hotel was VERY loud each night until after 2am. Not worth the price paid for these inconveniences.

We arrived at the hotel late and exhausted and the welcome from the receptionist was very poor. The room key wouldn’t work and after several new keys we had to get the receptionist to open the door. The hotel is lovely, breakfast was delicious but disappointed with reception staff on check in.

From a 4-start hotel room for €200 per night I was expecting a lot more even in corona times. Everything that lured us in this place, like pool, gym etc was closed including the bar, there was absolutely nothing you could get in the hotel. We had two kids with us, so they moved 2 foldable beds in our standard double room so there was no space left whatsoever. They did not set the blankets on those beds so when kids woke in the middle of the night we had to search for them, and in the end had to use bath towels instead. Probably the worst hotel experience over the years.

Nice hotel, clean, smart with nice staff but... having arrived Saturday evening I was told there was no food service, no bar service, no room service, nada, nothing, ziltch. I fully understand the virus has changed all our lives However I felt duped. Had I been notified of this prior to arrival I would have gone elsewhere. Was a real disappointment at the start of an epic road trip. The staff were lovely though, poor things.

Lovely Hotel well located, the staff were helpful and the rooms and facilities perfect. We were due to stay at the Hotel Meson del Cid, but got a message back Saying they Charge €10 extra for the dog. However this Hotel appeared not to Charge. Until we got there to find out they charge €25. Not only that but snother charge for Parking in their own Carpark of around another €25. I was shocked as nowhere in the descriptive parts of the Hotel info on Hotels.com does it mention these charges. In fact we you go to book the header reads you will pay no more than this price. So I went into the T&C in the small print there were the extra charges. Surely charges for service are not T&C's not happy as a one night break that should have cost 75 euro actually Cost us 118.euro

We are on the Camino de Santiago and had several hard days on the road and wanted to treat ourselves by staying at your hotel. The room was very nice and the pool was relaxing and we had a good nights sleep.
The next morning we wanted to have breakfast before heading back out on the trail. We went to the hotel restaurant and asked the hostess the price for breakfast. We thought the price was too high so we did not stay. This apparently angered the hostess as she snapped a rude comment at us as we turned to leave.
We left and went across the lobby to the bar area where we had some fruit from our backpacks. There was free coffee service offered to all customers, so we made a cup while we sat and ate our fruit. The hostess from the restaurant came flying across the lobby yelling at us that the coffee service was closed. She began pulling the coffee, creamers and other supplies and throwing them in a locked cabinet. She was mumbling to herself and was very angry and rude. While the hotel and the ammenities were nice, we will never stay here again with this level of customer service. You lost a customer over a cup of coffee. Congratulations.

Ideal stopover en route to the Algarve. We had a room with a terrace and small garden, great for our dog. Lovely hotel but tricky to find. Bedrooms and bathrooms very nice. Staff very polite, dinner and breakfast great. Will be back in five weeks en route to Calais. Burgos is well worth a look around

We booked a room with 3 large double beds and got a room with 2 double beds and an extra smaller bed, which needed an extra blanket. Towels in the bathroom were only provided for 2 persons, although we are a family of three. Having to ask for all this extra stuff after a long ride, was not pleasant because staff wasn’t always that friendly.

Upgraded for a small fee to a very large terrace room. Indoor pool has an outside terrace.
Our only issue concerned breakfast. There were no tea or coffee facilities in the room and no breakfast available at all as the cafe/bar did not open until 11am.

Abba Burgos is a beautiful property, located high, overlooking the city. Our room on the 4th floor, had a spectacular view, where we watched an incredible fireworks display that must have lasted 20 minutes! The room was well appointed and very clean and we had a large supply of nicely rolled, heavy towels.
On the down side, the remote garage across the driveway, two stories below the reception desk and lobby had no elevator requiring my wife and me at the age of 70 to haul our heavy baggage up a long, steep driveway to the lobby!!! To our dismay, the restaurant is closed every Sunday, the evening of our arrival, leaving us with the disappointing choice of eating sandwich fare in the cafeteria or walking several blocks down a steep hill and back; a very sad situation after a long day of travel!
Though Wi-Fi is provided, only Ethernet receptacles are in the room, with no modern USB receptacle is available to recharge phones; a rather dated lacking.
Each of the two Abba hotels we stayed in, the other being in Salamanca, afforded only two side by side single beds, rather than a single large bed for this married couple.
It's a beautiful place, staffed by caring personnel, but the certain failings mentioned are more important than the shining fixtures in the lobby. For the reasons stated, I cannot give the hotel more than a mediocre rating overall.
