Location next to the train station/Flixbus was ideal for me. I only stayed for one night, so it didn't bother me terribly to hear the trains a few times during the night. If I were staying longer I might feel differently. The property is likely an older hotel that got modern upgrades a few years ago; it is probably due for a refresh soon, but my room was fine for a quick stay.

Convenient location to train station as well as a short walk to Padovan sites. Staff was welcoming and helpful for check in as well as providing directions and a map. The room was a decent size and comfortable. The shower could undergo a deeper cleaning, but it was not moldy. Overall, a decent experience for the price

I arrived in Padova very early and the Al Cason staff got my room prepared with just a short wait for early check-in. I liked being congratulated whenever I tried practicing my Italian with them. It's an easy walk from the train station but more out of the way than I'd thought when booking.

Either them or Expedia lied to us. They said that booking through Expedia we had no right to breakfast or parking. Also the room had furniture from the 70s, the bathroom tiles were all broken and the entire room was riddled with ants. Never ever booking with Expedia or this hotel again

Comfortable stay, the room was clean but looked very dated. Aircon was not that effective. The standing shower was tiny but clean. The walk from the train station to the hotel can be a bit sketchy, especially at night. No city transit (bus or train) in front of the hotel. When we requested the check-out to be extended by an hour, they asked for an extra 25 Euros. We declined.

A good old school European hotel, extremely nice staff, a decently large room with good space that was clean. Breakfast was really good, the staff were extremely helpful and kind even with a language barrier. About a 10 minute walk from the Ravenna Station, on a main road and the city is accessible in a short walk, was my favorite hotel on my whole trip throughout Italy. I recommend!

Only two things wrong. Outside shade had holes in it and it was not effective. Plus neighbors were a bit chatty. High ceiling. Big bed. Good hot water. Good tv. Checked me in early. Take first or second lane on right of station to a round about. Continue right, past a parking lot. A bit of refugees between that.

The corner at the end of the street is dark and street by the bridge you walk along to the station is dodgy at night with concerning hanging out crowd in both areas.

I chose this Hotel after comparing the review of it and some other more expensive hotels on Expedia and another review site, I find this hotel gets bad reviews mostly because of its location. I didn’t mind some walking so I chose it.

Upon arrival I found the room assigned had problem with AC, the front desk apologized and sent us to another room, which looked old but was cleaned thoroughly. The new room was supposed to be noisier than the street facing old one since it’s nearer to the railroad, but I didn’t feel any noise. The bed is stiffer than higher end hotels, but still comfortable.

The hotel has room numbers printed on the floor and needs to have a small stick inserted in a hole near the door to have most electricity. I thought this was backward until I went to a major hotel brand in a different, a 4-star modern upscale venue that also had room number printed on the floor. However the bad thing about the stick is that a customer can take it off the keychain and forget to pull it out. That maybe was what happened to my first room with broken AC since it has prob. been working in bad conditions for a long time without the hotel knowing.

The breakfast cost 5 euros per person so I didn’t expect much and. But it turned out to be very good, on par with the ones costing 12 euros each in my Italy trip.

The location as I expected was bad, it’s about 18 minutes walk to the center of town. Surround places look quite less well maintained and seem not safe at night.

We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel staff is very kind and helpful. I think it is a great value. My daughter and I felt safe staying here. It was very clean and the breakfast was good. The shower stall was very small, which worked for us because we are too, but a tall person might struggle a bit. It is a little old fashioned but I found it charming.

Good value for money, a bit aged facilities

The location is great, a 15-20 min stroll to the center which is a big plus. The staff were nice and accommodating.
But the room and bathroom were aged/worn but clean, no air conditioning (a big problem on hot days) and the wierd thing is that there was no ceiling lamp, only not-very-bright wall lamps. Not a big problem, just strange.
The 5€ breakfast is a bit overpriced for what they serve.
Overall, good value for money if you're not looking for brand-new facilities.

We loved Hotel Cason, Plus a Huge Money Saving Tip

We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Cason. The staff were so pleasant amd helpful. Although we didn't book with breakfast included we still utilized it at $5 per person.

The hotel is very near to the train station amd the city cemter. We would walk to the train station daily, about 10 minutes and go to different destinations in the region. It was so convenient.

Also the morning we left we paid $15 for 2 adults and a child to go to the Venice airport using Flixbus which has its bus station across the street from Hotel Cason. Download the Flixbus app to book. It was perfect and cheap compared to other options.

We highly recomment this hotel if you want to explore the Vemeto region.

The staff here is friendly, personable and helpful. It’s a short walk to train station and so the area around it is what you’d expect for a hotel near a train station— a bit rough around the edges but very convenient for doing a day trip to Venice. Because of the staff it was a very pleasant experience overall. Our room was very clean, and the food and wine in the restaurant was good.

Overall it was a good stay here. At first our rooms air conditioning did not work but when we got back at night they were very apologetic and they made it up by upgrading our room to a much nicer one. Overall I really liked it and for the price the first basic room and the fancier room were worth it. And it is a 5 minute walk from the trainstation which was a plus. Overall I had a great stay and the staff there was very nice

Thr hotel was in a good location for the train station and also for buses into Padova. However, the are around the station was a bit run down. But we did not feel nervous as there were large groups of black men about the area. The hotel was a bit tied in appearance but the staff were lovely and breakfasts good but no bacon.

Our room was clean and airy. TV was all Italian. Shower clean and towels replaced each day.

This was a fabulous hotel and location made all the better by the friendly and helpful receptionist \"Lucia\" who went out of her way to make sure we got all the information we needed to get the most out of our 2 night stay. The hotel is superbly located beside train station with trains every half hour to Venice for €3.50 for a 20 minute journey. Highly recommend in nice town with lots of restaurants and things to see..!

The staff are very friendly and helpful.

Hotel website promises food availablilty 24 hours, but nothing available after 2130, and no coffee/tea in the room for late arrivals.

Rooms are clean, but shower was one of the worst we have experienced with a tiny shower cabinet, low water pressure and variable temperature from cool to luke warm. Sink and bidet drains were very slow running, suggesting a lack of proper maintenance.

A lovely hotel in perfect place!

Conveniently located near Padova's train station, this is a nice hotel for the budget conscious traveler. The front desk clerk is very friendly, attentive & efficient. Breakfast is very good. Dining Room has a nice ambiance. The hotel itself is good. We had not very nice view from our apartment overlooking the wall but for 2 nights was OK :) I would definitely come back when in Padova next time. It was very quiet in the rooms (sound proof windows) :D Don't think twice Padova its amazing!!!

Just the best staff.

This a really lovely place to stay. The staff are superb from the reception to all parts of the hotel. The receptionist gave us a very useful map when we arrived and highlighted where everything was, the women in the bar who would not let us pay for our drink and made sure we were comfortable outside and the really nice man in the restaurant from breakfast till after dinner. We spoke to a lovely Irish couple who had been going back for 10 years (they didn’t even need to order dinner, they already knew what they liked). If I am ever back this way I would stay again and would recommend it to anyone I knew who was going to stay in this city.

A nice hotel in a poor neighborhood.

This is a very traditional city hotel: not very personal, relatively small rooms, reasonable breakfast included. Wifi worked fine. Free safe in room; felt like it was needed. The neighborhood was slightly scary: one morning we walked out from the hotel, and saw vandals had smashed tail-lights of parked cars near the hotel. Very convenient to train station, not so convenient to the center of Padua.

Easy walking distance from the Padua Train Station...although be very sure about how to get there before setting out from the Station. You can easily get yourself lost.

The hotel's exterior is modest...the interior is well maintained and cared for. The reception staff are friendly and helpful.

Easy walking distance to the central City and the Pontifical Basilica of Saint Anthony of Padua and other great sites.

Healthy complimentary breakfast with lots of choice. This hotel has a beautiful little garden for enjoying that second cup of coffee while planning your day.

Overall, the accommodation is clean, safe and feels like home.

Hotel Room was dark - even with all the lights on - and had only one very small window at the back which looked over old, dirty buildings. The shower cubicle (no bath) was very small and to wash lower legs and feet I had to open shower doors - I'm 1.66ms tall. Hotel could do with a refurbishment. However, staff were very attentive and helpful.

Really nice hotel. Slightly out of town but not too far to be a problem. Very handy for the station. Laundry service is a godsend. Fill a bag, hand it in at reception and it is brought back a couple of hours later. Padua itself is wonderful with easy access to other cities including Venice which we did comfortably in a day trip. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this hotel.

Couldn't be more pleased -- delightful staff, nice public areas, excellent WiFi, clean, spacious, comfy room, and the breakfast was one of the best I've ever experienced - not your usual rolls, juice, coffee, and tired fruit but a real breakfast spread of meats, cheeses, pastries, breads, excellent coffee/lattes/cappucinos, etc. and an excellent bowl of freshly cut fruit. Just wonderful. Also a very fine location close to the train and bus stations. 10 minute walk up into the heart of the old city where the hotels are 3 times the price. I'd stay here again any time at all.

This little hotel in Padova is a bargain find. Family run, very clean, comfortable, spacious, and convenient to the train station. I'll admit, it's not the Ritz, but it's 50 Euros a night! You will not find a better hotel for the money. Breakfast is pretty good. The attached restaurant was just OK for dinner, but if you are exhausted from walking all day, it's a convenience to have. The Scrovegni Chapel is nearby and the town center is a short work. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Big Bonus is their Laundry Service

We selected this hotel because of its proximity to the train station. Our intent was to use Padua as a base for day trips to Venice. The staff is courteous, helpful and friendly. The big bonus is their laundry service. You fill a plastic bag with dirty clothes and leave it at the front desk. They do the washing, drying and folding. Two or three hours later, the new clean clothes are returned to your room.

Very courteous staff. They were generous and switched my room - to a bigger one, no extra charge - when I complained of noise. Simple but good breakfast.
The hotel itself is clean, simple, rather comfortable.

However, the neighborhood does not seem very safe after dark - at least for women traveling alone. During the day it was fine. In terms of distance it is very convenient - a few minutes to train station, and a short 10 minute walk to the center.

Amazing value in the heart of Venice

Awesome value in the heart of old Venice. The lady who hosted us was lovely and our room was large and comfy. But who stays in the room when you're in Venice?!

The breakfast was very nice too.

But the highlight for me (aside from our lovely host) was that a canal goes right beside the entrance to the rooms, through the a little private sitting area. So much fun!

Friendly hotel in a good location

Within easy walking distance of the train station, this hotel is still within walking distance to many of the sights in Padova, including the Scrovegni Chapel. Double-glazed windows cut out the noise of the trains, but sound-proofing between our room and those next door was not good. We also had problems with our WiFi connection. Hotel staff were excellent - friendly, helpful and professional. Would stay there again, but would ask for a different room.

Good location for the train station as the primary reason for staying in Paduva was easy access to the train to Venice every day. Quite a walk to see the city which I didn't find a lot to sightsee there. Air conditioning didn't cool the room very good even after a staff person came to the room and showed me how to make adjustments. Breakfast was fabulous.

A good value for your Padove visit.

We found the hotel to be quite comfortable. Staff were very helpful and consistently pleasant. It was a good value for our travel dollar. We were especially pleased with the meal we had in-house. It was well prepared and presented, tasty, and again, a good value. The location is a walkable distance from the train station or a 7 euro cab ride if you are tired or mobility impaired as we were.

Beautiful! Great staff!

This place is a gem! It is about 200 yards from the train station, which was of paramount importance to us. It may not look like the best neighborhood, but the tram to \"downtown\" and the main sights for us (Cappella degla Scrovegni and Basilica of Sant'Antonio) was right across from the train station. And a nice evening stroll took us past a surprising 9-11 memorial and treasures of Italian architecture to a delightful ristorante with wonderfully friendly wait staff. The front desk staff at Al Cason were so welcoming and helpful, particularly Georgia. And the young woman doing most of the work in the dining room is delightful and amazing. The breakfast is a beautiful and plentiful feast, with something for everyone, ranging from ham and cheese to the incomparable Italian baguette or croissant. There is a delightful terrace off the dining room ... charming for morning, afternoon or evening relaxation. Our room was delightful ... not much of a view, but large and with all the essentials anyone could need ... and a huge, beautiful bathroom. Will definitely go back here.

Not Far from Old Padua

The hotel is within walking distance of the train station, which is a plus. The neighborhood one must walk through to get is dingy, and empty at night, which is a minus. The hotel staff are great, and its restaurant is very good. We had three great breakfasts and two very good dinners. Several interesting churches are nearby, and the centro stórico is only a few blocks away. One can walk there or take a bus. Maybe the hotel is better situated for drivers, but as train travelers we found it to be quiet, and convenient. In summer, don't miss the watermelon stand across the street!

Perfect hotel in Padua

I would recommend this hotel. It is a family run hotel with a special spirit. The family staff was so good to us and willing to make our stay perfect and the restaurant staff was awesome.
