The Hotel has an excellent location in the fringe of Padua old town. My room was very spacious and also had access to the roof top terrace.
the hotel needs just a bit of minor maintenance to be very good. Staff was always available and provided excellent service. another great feature is the car park in the backyard.

The hotel was ideal for whatvwe needed for our trip. Andrea who checked us in was lovely , explaining all we needed to know about the hotel and it's facilities. The location was perfect for us getting in and out of town too

I did not receive the VIP offers. We’re all the location is really good to go walking in sight. We didn’t like the shower because the way that the screen is placed create a lot of spill into the shower. Breakfast was excellent.

Room needs upgrading, but it was clean and bed comfortable. Very easy to get around by walking but also very convenient parking behind hotel. Staff was very polite and helpful, breakfast was delicious.

It hard to understand the rating that had been assigned to this hotel. Whilst the staff were charming, the room was filthy and in bad repair. I’m not sure I have ever slept in such an uncomfortable bed. The breakfast was basic and whilst the coffee was good, the quality of the rest was lacking. The massages was however very good.

Nice staff and very clean. The door handles are sharp and I ended scratching my wrist twice. Asked for a spare pillow and was told “no sorry, no spare pillow as we’re fully booked” which made me laugh. Lovely staff at reception, very friendly.

Friendly and helpful staff. The hotel room itself needs a renovation: bathroom looked old, toilet was leaking, washing tube joints need work, air con so and so ...
Reception area and breakfast room looked nice, probably newly renovated.
Parking is was very good, on-site, free. Hotel location is great just next to the old town.

Great modern hotel in an ancient town. Secure free parking. All staff was great from the frob desk to the late night bartender and the morning breakfast attendants. The only issue were the pillows. Flat and uncomfortable.

We chose the hotel as a four star and it lived up to its billing .
The private parking is very useful as parking is restricted around the hotel.
They served a very good breakfast in a pleasant environment.
The real stars of the show were the staff ,particularly Alba the head receptionist.
Nothing was to much trouble .
The hotel has a beautifull spa that needs promoting .
One observation the bathrooms are clean but the old fashioned and gloomy tiling are rather off putting.

Great hotel for a visit to a beautiful city

Ina quieter area of town (which we loved), overlooking the river but still close enough to the winding backstreets that contain the best bars and restaurants. Room was a good size and bed was great. Shower was excellent but the dark dark blue decor of the bathroom was a little weird!! Staff couldn’t have been nicer - friendly, helpful and prepared to withstand my insistence that we spoke Italian so I could practice. Would definitely go back

So -so stay

Overall our stay at Methis
hotel was good. They were a few problems, such as the carpeting was in very bad shape, the refrigerator did not work, and we could not get the TV to work. The people who work there were very friendly and helpful ... The location was OK, but we did have to walk at least a mile to get to the bus.

Nice hotel a bit out of town About 10 min walK.

Very quiet environment.. very spacious rooms, very hard beds (excellent if that's what one likes) but the staff is just fantastic! Staff at the reception fabulous, have rarely come across such efficient and friendly receptionists, they made all the difference during our stay.. Marco and his lady collègue.

This was a dreadful experience. The air-conditioning was broken and it was 35° outside. There was no gym, pool, or terrace as described in the website. The bathroom was painted dark blue and was extremely ugly. The bedroom was tiny.

Two nights, good location out of centre but free parking and nice and easy 15 minute walk in to centre.
Large opening window, comfortable firm bed, strange large bespoke bath but plug doesn't really keep water in. Very good shower over.

We took two rooms for a night. The air con was not working especially at night, and this is because the receptionist said the air con was too noisy. There is no iron and iron board.

Okay, but had issues.

Okay hotel. Free parking. Room was clean. Inside wall. Okay walk to old part of city.
Air conditioning was strange. Apparently under the control of the front desk, not the room thermostat. The first night it worked for awhile, but then stopped, and the room got hot. The next two nights, it worked fine. Strangely, our last morning, after it was working fine, there was a crane in the parking lot installing a new air conditioning unit.
The theme of our floor is acqua (blue). Nice there is a theme. But, both the walls AND the floor of the bathroom are painted a DARK blue. There are three ceiling lights for the bathroom. One was burnt out. One was low light. Only one was a normal brightness light. So it was like night in the bathroom. I don't know how the maid would be able to clean it. Our fault for not complaining to the front desk about it. But shouldn't someone have noticed this?

The hotel was conveniently located on a quiet street just a short walk to the city center. The room was clean, comfortable with a large bathroom and patio. The design of the room worked out very well with a king sized bed for us and a single for our daughter with a partial dividing wall so we had some privacy. The gated parking lot in the back made it very convenient as well. The staff were helpful and friendly.

The hotel is all right but do not expect anything memorable. It is located off the tourists' track and it takes 20 minutes walk to get to historical centre. If you like a quiet night, it is the right place for you. Room and bathroom were clean but the bathroom decor is rather strange. They probably aimed at rustic design but in effect you shower in a concrete bath tube. Not pleasant.
Breakfast is very basic and they do not offer much choice, for example from bakery there is only a white toast bread. If you fancy something warm you need to pay extra. If I remember well, scramble eggs cost 6 euros.

Overall very nice place to stay. good parking, the staff was very helpful to give me a map and show me the main attractions of Padova which is quite a nice place. like many other places I've been in Italy, the bed and pillows were quite hard. The tv also need to be updated but that's very minor. I liked that place.

Hotel fine but needs updating

I had a good stay at this hotel. The location is fine...about 15 minutes walk to interesting parts of town. Not an interesting part of town on its own--just a residential neighborhood. My room faced away from the street and had the advantage of being quiet. Probably the weakest point was the shower, which had tiles coming loose on the floor--great water pressure though. The front desk staff was very professional and helpful. Generally--the hotel is overpriced for the quality of the rooms.

Unassuming. Friendly. Just off beaten track.

Stayed here twice now. Good value. Simple and unassuming. Staff very helpful. Breakfast does the job. Will do food in evening but you're better off going out. Bar good for a pre or post drink, not daft prices. Rooms got all that's needed. Linens changed daily. Main parts of Padova and trams to train station 10 mins away. Will be returning.

The staff at the hotel were very helpful and provided excellent information for sightseeing and about local restaurants.

This modern hotel was in a pleasant position by the river but some distance from the principal sights of the city.

The breakfast area was small for the number of people staying and somewhat chaotic.

First Class Hotel in an excellent location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Methis Hotel; we had stayed at this hotel once before, in July 2011, and our total satisfaction on this occasion was the reason for our return. The staff are all pleasant and friendly and speak very good English, which is an advantage as we do not speak or understand spoken Italian very well. Our rooms were very clean and the breakfasts excellent. The hotel is also situated in a nice, quiet part of Padua. There is plenty to see in Padua, including the Scrovegni Chapel, Baptistery, the famous Basilica of Sant'Antonio and Palazzo Ragione, and the city is also good for shopping. It is only a short train ride away from Venice although, if you are planning to travel by train, it may be wise to buy your tickets in advance, as we arrived at the station to find long queues as the automatic ticket machines were not working properly and, due to this, there was a wait of over an hour to buy tickets at the counter. Due to my patience, I did, after about 45 minutes, manage to successfully purchase 3 tickets from a machine, but I witnessed only one other person obtain a ticket that lunchtime. We had never experienced problems like this before when travelling by train in Italy.

I came in late after a full day of driving to spend the night. The receptionist working that evening (and super early the next morning) was drop dead gorgeous to such a degree that the thought crossed my mind whether i should just never leave Padova again - at least not without her...

Easy walk to city centro

We are adventurous and like to get a feel for a city by walking, if possible, after a day of travel. We do not recommend doing this from the train station. Once was enough. There are some scary folks one encounters. This is not a criticism of the hotel, as it is in a quiet neighborhood which is within easy walking distance of what historic Padua has to offer. We did find that the beds were hard and that we had to request that the front desk override the limits on cooling in order to make the room comfortable. (We were there during an unusually hot time.) The staff was helpful, the breakfast acceptable and in pleasant surroundings.

Nice and quiet hotel

The staff here was fantastic. My mom had swollen ankles and the staff took great care in providing ice, appropriate choice of medical clinic, any additional support we requested. Good food at small eatery too. A bit of a walk to main piazze but I liked that too. It doesn't have many electrical outlets. Very clean so that was nice.

Nice place in a quiet location

We liked Methis Hotel. It is about a 10 minute walk from Prato delle valle. We liked that it was far enough away that we didn't have to worry about street noise or a lot of people. It is also conveniently located to the byway around Padua, which means it was an easy cab ride to/from the train station. My wife had breakfast in the hotel restaurant and said it was very good. The hotel also helped coordinate taxis for us when we needed them.

Padua is close to Venice

Good breakfast. Interesting room designs with
plenty of space.

Used this place as a jumping off place for Venice.
Short taxi ride to train. 40 minute train ride to
the Venice train station which is right on Grand Canal.
Total cost to get there for two is 35 Euros including
cab roundtrip.

Ate quite well for 3 nights in Padua, including one
outstanding high end place, Bella Parti. Two lovely
town squares with much outdoor dining at reasonable
cost with quite good food.

Focused on Venice, so no time to visit cathedral or
Gardens which close early on Sunday.

It's good for European standards

The hotel was clean, comfortable, breakfast was nice. The rooms available did not include all-white \"air\" rooms, despite being included in advertised on the website of hotels.com. It seems that only \"earth\" class rooms were available. They hit us with a high rate for a crib (almost three times the standard cost of crib rental) but lowered the price a bit after we complained (Ai Navgioli). The recommendation they gave us for a restaurant was phenomenal. Considering the hotels standards in Europe (small single beds joined together, lack of space, outdated sheets and furniture) it is a nice hotel and quite comfortable. We'd stay there again but mainly due to lack of modern hotels near the historic district. It might be more geared as a business hotel, so they likely weren't targetting us as a young family.

Don't stay here!

First room offered stank of tobacco smoke. Grudgingly moved to alternative room - no apology. Second room was on ground floor just above bar. Room was unbearably hot all night - 26 degrees by room gauge. Asked for air conditioning and was told only heating in winter for whole hotel but would turn off heating in room. No change. Finally opened window at 0400 hrs only to let in Mosquitos even in November as hotel site on riverbank.
On check out explained how uncomfortable room was to receptionist tone to be told she couldn't understand this as too heating was off. Still waiting for an apology. Most surly breakfast staff in world - asking for eggs ( for extra charge) was serious problem.
At best a 3 star hotel - old and tired - don't stay here.

The hardest bed that I have ever slept in.

I have slept in some hard beds in my life but this was by far the hardest. I am not sure how this hotel got an overall rating of 4 stars. I stayed on the red floor (fire) which was kind of bizare and not exactly what you are looking for in a hotel room. Give me Earth, Wind or Water please.

Nice place.

The hotel was just what we needed for our short stay in Padova. The decorating was really the only slight negative. We were on the earth level I think or maybe it was fire, not sure. The hallway looked like it was blazing and the bathroom was dark with the deep brown/orange faux painting. the staff was nice, the breakfast was good and the location was perfect. I would return again and explore the charming city more thoroughly.

This hotel is really well located for the old town of Bergamo. Parking is easy and plentiful which is rare so close to the old town. The rooms were large but dated and a bit dark. Wi-fi was free but only available only in the main reception of the hotel. In summary this hotel was fine for a short convenient stay but lacked any real character.

The hotel is a good half hour walk from the station (and we're fast walkers!) Modern in feel, clean, bright and a very friendly reception on arrival. Comfortable rooms, air conditioned with all facilities.
Good, simple, fresh breakfast. Shame that there is no outside space (don't be fooled by the pictures of a roof terrace - these are for the suites only).
Otherwise - all good and I would stay again.

The Methis Hotel Padova: Padova's best Hotel

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel. All the staff were polite, friendly and extremely helpful (and, thankfully, they spoke and understood English well!) The breakfasts were excellent; we particularly enjoyed the Italian pastries and fresh fruit. The hotel is modern in its style, and nicely decorated, but it is its cleanliness that deserves a special mention; our rooms were immaculate, and the bathrooms thoroughly cleaned every day. As I have observed every time I have visited Italy, the Italians certainly know how to clean properly, and we would benefit from following their example, in the UK. I would highly recommend the Methis Hotel, Padova.

Overrated and overpriced

I usually never do reviews, but when a Hotel dress up in pictures as something special but in reality is a run down 2 star hotel splashed with IKEA and overpriced internet and parking fee - you gotta share your experience...

Good food served from the very nice restaurant manager though.

Methis Hotel in Padova, coolest place to stay

This was a fantastic hotel. It was very well maintained, very clean rooms and very modern. It was in a good location, kind of far away from the main centre, but still had a nice quiet surrounding area. The staff was extremely kind and helpful, all spoke fantastic english and were always willing to answer any questions. It was very clean and felt safe. Very much recommended. Good value!

Nice modern hotel, good value

We were looking for a family room for 2 adults and 2 teenagers, and ended up booking 2 rooms here for about the same price as a suite in other places we checked out online. Is just inside the city wall (I think), and about 20 mins walk from the main sights through a nice neighborhood. Very modern, nicely appointed for the price, with very modern style and decor. Checkin was quick and convenient. Nothing to critcize, just not a lot of \"character\". Like a lot of things in Padua it was a little hard to find at first in the car with all the oneway roads and restricted areas, and involved a bit of going around and around. Parking was 10 euros a night.

Great stay in Padova

If one gets the chance to stay here, take advantage of it. It's one of those few hotels in the City that can accommodate free parking on site. Not too hard to get to but it is on the other side of the City if one wants to go to the train station for a one day excursion to Venice. Padova is worth walking around also.

Modern and clean

Very nice, modern hotel. Very clean room. 10 minute walk to the centre. Breakfast a bit basic but OK: at least they make you nice coffee. I once stayed somewhere where you press a button on a machine! Do check that your door locks when you leave your room. That problem was never really resolved!

Staff were amazing!

The hotel is perfectly placed in Padova to be away from the centre but close enough to walk everywhere you want to. From Padova you can visit Venice and Verona very easily.. however I would suggest not missing the last train as we ended up paying 130 quid taxi back from Verona! The staff in the hotel were amazing! They made our stay a joy. They were beyond helpful and we would return to this hotel for the staff alone. A great holiday and a great hotel
