Far different from what the photos show

The room no 105 was small and at the front of the hotel, was narrow, tv didnt work, and painted dark brown. There were no photos if this room online. One side of the double bed was against the wall making it difficult to get in and out. The shower consisted of a hole in the floor beside the sink with the shower curtain protecting the door. Not really a shower cabin at all. Its the strangest hotel room ive ever stayed in. The bed was comfortable and as it was only for one night it was tollerable. Im not sure if all rooms are like this as it didnt reflect the photos on their website. Maybe we got that room because it was a 'Reward night', but was far from a reward. Very limited parking and in the few minutes we had to take our luggage to the room, reception called twice to telll us 'the owner of the parking space' beside the front door had arrived. The public carpark where we parked was c500m away. The next morning,, when i went to check out all that was said was, 'i just need the key', nothing else. i walked to get the car and drive back, which took about 25 minutes. During thst time my partner sat in the lobby with our luggage. The reception staff spoke to all other guests except her. If hospitality is your business you really should make an effort with customers and if Hotels.com customers are being treated this way, id reconsider the arrangement.

Good value for money for a city centre hotel but the allocated room was bad and we were let down by a member of staff who gave us incorrect information which incurred an unnecessary cost..
Room 105 (to be avoided) was dark and gloomy, the bed was very uncomfortable, the layout poor, the tv did not function well and worst of all the bathroom had a wet-room style of shower which was poorly designed and flooded the floor. In contrast our friends room (110) had been redecorated and suffered no such problems.

Very good location. Reception staff a little stiff & serious - no smiles. Dining room needs more staff. One guy seems to do everything and when it’s busy he’s run off his feet but he always had a smile. Ladies who did the bedrooms were very pleasant. Bought a hair dryer as one in bathroom was old with very little power. Plug on mine wouldn’t stay in socket in bedroom as socket obviously broken. Had to hold it in place with my foot.

Unfortunately, during my stay in Padova I had my handbag stolen. Thankfully, my phone was in my pocket with my hotel room key. However, I had hired a bike (for free) from the hotel and the key for the bike lock was in my stolen bag. The bike was locked up in a nearby piazza. When I arrived back at the hotel I explained my situation and asked if they had a spare key for the bike lock. The two members of staff helping us found spare keys to every numbered bike except mine! They then stated that since they had no spare key I couldn't return the bike they would have to charge me (bearing in mind it is not my fault that they gave me the only bike that they didn't have a spare key for). They said that they would charge €100 to the card details I had left as a deposit.
I had just had my bag stolen and spent time at the police station reporting it, the rude manner in which the staff spoke to me about the bike showed no empathy or sympathy for the stressful situation for me.
As I had a train to catch and the staff were unable to decide how to deal with the situation I took matters into my own hands and went to the piazza, borrowed some lock cutters from a market stall and return the bike with a broken lock. Satisfied with this solution that the staff had not thought of themselves, they said they would charge me €20 for the lock.They attempted to charge my card but it had already been blocked. They asked for €20 in cash and made my friend pay it before I could leave.

A fine, basic hotel that is quite clean and reasonably comfortable. The bathroom is quite good, and the beds are comfortable. However, my air conditioning unit was broken and they couldn't fix it until the next day. Not a fun night.

Cappella degli Scrovegni is must see.

Stop over in Padua while travelling in Italy. Hotel about 30 minute walk or 5 minute tram ride from railway station. Situated next to Prato della Valle, largest Piazza in Italy and home to many restaurants. Hotel about 15 minute walk from Cappella degli Scrovegni, which is main tourist attraction in Padua. Hotel was good value.

We booked into Hotel M14 as we needed somewhere to stay whilst visiting family in Padova. We booked a standard double room and were disappointed as we only received an economy room with no refund. The room was very small and if two people had two large cases there would be little room to move around.

The room itself was very sparse with only basic facilities. The bathroom was clean but old-fashioned but for some reason had an large opening in the wall into the bedroom. Unfortunately there seemed to be no way to turn off the bathroom light, which meant that the light shone through the opening even when the main room lights were turned off. This meant the key card needed to be removed from the main door lock/light control to turn it off and have a dark room for sleeping.

The bed matress was comfortable, although there was only one thin pillow per person and the sheets are quite thin. No extra pillows were available.

The hotel itself had a strong smell of air fresheners, although it seemed to be clean. There are no amenities to speak of.

Amazing Location near all the lovely things to see

This place was a lovely place. It is centrally located and the staff.... Wow they went above and beyond. it was cool they all spoke english. the room was a little small but I wasnt complaining because I think they added an extra bed to accomodate for us since we got the last room. everything was within walking distance. something cool they do is they offer free bike rentals with a deposit of 100 euros but you get them back when you return the bike. this city is amazing and I recomend staying here.

Terrible Hotel Experience in Ten Years Travelling

I booked the hotel based on pictures, which turned out to be misleading. Check in was fast, but the rooms were terribly shocking; all four rooms we booked were with a very poor air conditioner. There was a rusty smell in all 4 upon entry. We had to shower with cold water several times thrughout the night to keep our body temp acceptable. Barely Slept. Breakfast just made things worse. Most probably the worst hotel experience I had in ten years (more than twenty trips on average per year). Would surely remember the name for the future.

I will do it again!

I'm a neat freak, so very comfortable bed..very! Clean rooms. Shower and bathroom combined which was a little weird but architectural ok. The only hesitant thing was the parking and area. Alot of instructions during checkin was a turn off. I was too tired to listen to all of them. Bit both durable. Staff was extremely nice

Very nice hotel. Rooms are small but clean and the hotel is in a great location. The biggest issue is the internet. They give personalized tickets with login information that changes daily. And the internet was hard to find. I essentially spent the entire time at the hotel disconnected due to the challenges of getting online.

Good stuff:
* near the city center in a nice quiet neighbourhood.
* modern hotel
*you can pay €5 for breakfast.
* Has thick blackout external curtains.

Bad stuff:
* AC didn't work at all.
* Bathroom was very squished to the point that the shower was literally on top of the toilet. If you took a shower you'd make a mess.
* The breakfast was o.k. but could improve.
* Hotel staff was extremely unfriendly and unhelpful!!
* Very thin walls, so you could hear people talking outside your room. This is a very touristic hotel..in our two night stay we saw 3 large groups leave the hotel. At night this made sleeping quite hard.
* Wifi has connectivity issues in the rooms or doesn't work.
* Rooms were too small. The bed barely fit into the room. There was a space of 30 cm or less between the bed and the walls.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel for more than one quick night.

Clean and modern hotel

This hotel is very modern, by European standards in this price range. The room was clean and well-equipped. The staff was friendly and spoke English. The only downside is that this hotel is a fair walk from downtown and quite far from the train station. It also seems to be more popular with big groups than individuals.

It was all I expected - the room was small but clean, I only been there one night so what mattered was a good night sleep.
Some problems arised when I discovered they forgot to leave me a blanket and so I asked for one. They gave me one...an hour later, I was just so tired, I was asleep already. Other than that, there was no problem with the hotel, I recommend it for short stays!

It's an alright hotel, but it had some issues. The biggest being the hallway having an overpowering smell of a men's locker room being masked by an entire bottle of cologne. The breakfast was mediocre with a fairly limited selection. All that being said, the room was clean, had air conditioning, and served its purpose. I would try to find a nicer hotel in the area in the future, but for a single night stay it sufficed.

Disappointing after reading other reviews.

Maybe I haven't developed a \"European mindset\" yet. We have been in Italy for over two months now and have taken a few trips away from our house. This was part of one and the hotel turned out to be disappointing. Before I begin, the room was clean but the patio was full of pigeon poop most of which was there for quite some time. The room.... was narrow and the materials used in it's decoration were the cheapest you could find. By NARROW I mean not even 12\" on either side of the bed before you were on a wall. Sure, you could move the bed to one wall but then one of the occupants would be trapped. There were some nice touches but that is the next topic. The bathroom has very minimal space to put your toiletries so we moved the desk chair in and used it. The bidet is part of the shower.
And the staff was cool at first but warmed up to us later.
Extra charges.. ended up being adding 30 dollars to the bill and that did not include anything from the mini bar!

I stayed in this hotel with my family from 19/03/15 23/03/15. this is definitely a 3 star hotel and nothing more. We arrived early and the hotel staff allowed us to check in early due to us having a small child with us which was great. We stayed on the 4th floor and when we walked into our room we couldn't believe how small it was. Apart from the smallness of the room it was very clean and nice clean bed sheets. This hotel is in a great location within walking distance to shops and restaurants. Breakfast was fantastic for the money only 5 euros per person.

The hotel was very good, the room was clean and big enough for 2 people (we stayed in 409). The only downside of the hotel is the wi-fi, the connection was very poor and I had to log in few times a day whenever I wanted to use it. But apart from that, everything was excellent The hotel is very close to Padua town center and about 30 minutes from Venice by train. Would definitely recommend it to everyone. And I should mention that the breakfast buffet for 5 Euros per person was excellent!

The hotel staff was very helpful, the room had everything you might need, including a balcony! The location was near the major tram line and only was a 15 minute stroll to the town center. The break fast was simple, but I don't recommend it if you are a tea-drinker. The water came from a dispenser and wasn't hot enough to do the job.

We had a bad experience here. Rooms around us were populated by noisy youths who were not supervised. We asked for a different room but were only given one on the final night after complaining twice. The manager was never available.
The rooms are small and dark and need redecorating.

Our 3 night stay at the M14 was trouble free, it suited our needs well, central enough to pop back and forth if needed whilst taking in all the historic sights of Padua.

This hotel was perfect for our stay. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the rooms are spacious and very stylish. It was just off the heart of the beautiful town of Padua. There are bus and tram services from the train station to near the hotel, but we never saw a tram once. The only fault was the poor wifi. Otherwise everything was great. The complimentary bikes were such a good idea for such a bicycle loving town. For €5 extra the breakfast is very filling.

A little ways from train station but very convenient if you take the tram. Hotel was very nice. Small room and bathroom, but clean, with nice amenities, and great service. They even let us leave our bags while we did some site seeing in the morning. Great breakfast buffet for not very much. Nice neighborhood. Recommended.

I always stay here.

Whenever I visit Padua, I stay at this hotel. The room is quiet, the service is usually quite friendly and helpful, you can rent bikes, free Wi-Fi, good breakfast, many rooms have a balcony that overlook a park and the price is quite reasonable. Most of the sites are close by such as the Precinema Museum, the Orto Botanico, St. Anthony's cathedral, Prato delle valle and more. The hotel is easily accessible from the tram and there are many shops and restaurants nearby.

No frills but excellent location

M14 is in an excellent location. Although I knew that the hotel was basic I did not expect it to be so limited in terms of comfort of room (nowhere to sit only the bed); wifi - very slow connection cutting in and out and required me to stand by the door to get a signal; breakfast - very basic even for €5. As I was on business it was probably not the best option for me. If you aren't needing the internet, much breakfast and don't need too much space in your room it will probably suffice for a short stay.

I've stayed at nicer hotels for less expensive rates. I had a single room and it was an extraordinarily tight squeeze, but I think that's common in Europe. I'd just stayed at a few roomier locations prior to my visit, so it seemed small. The breakfast was not included in the rate, but the location was convenient for walking around the city center. I wasn't in Padova long, but the hotel does rent bikes for free (with a security deposit) that I thought was a cool system. One downfall was there was no coffee or tea set-up in the room, and I didn't realize there was an airconditioner until my second night, so it was a sweltering first night. So, overall, it's okay but not the best.

This hotel was located a fair distance away from the train station, however there is a tram which you can take to a stop within a 5 min walk to the hotel which is useful! The hotel was clean and modern with helpful staff at reception. Only issue would be that the room that we stayed in was quite small although this could be due to the price we paid. Location was ok with most of the city within a leisurely walk.

The hotel has been through some recent modernisation and is very clean throughout. The rooms we had were very small though. Bathroom was so small the whole area was a wet room with a shower curtain on the door. There was air conditioning that worked well, but the wifi was poor and had to stand in the hallway to use it. Affordable and cool

Padua was the unexpected gem of my Italy trip. I LOVED THE M14: located steps from the Prato; they provide bikes free of charge to enjoy this friendly city; breakfast was good; and the atmosphere pretty hip, laid back but pleasant. I

Comfortable modern hotel at a reasonable price

Basic hotel but great location for exploring Padova. I only stayed one night as I was there for business but the room was comfortable and clean. Downsides were lack of tea & coffee facilities in the room, only one tiny bottle of shampoo/shower gel provided (no conditioner), only 1 flat pillow which I had to fold in half, and no wifi in room although the hotel advertises free wifi!
Upsides - lovely staff, breakfast only €5 and good choice (breads, meet, cheese, fruit, pastries, yogurt and cereal), location if you're there to explore, cleanliness of room and ensuite. Price! You get what you pay for and it was perfect for me, not sure I'd want to stay for a week if I was on holiday though?

Nice for short stay

Hotel was nice and service was fine . The only problem was the noise within the hotel . You can hear any noise made outside your room . I would stay there again as it is a good location to visit Venice from .

Perfect location, good value for money

We stayed in room 100. Wifi was ok, but went out a bit. Balcony faced building and parking lot, and was sufficient for smokers. The size of the room was very nice! Happy we had a fridge and nice hot water. Breakfast at €5 was just what we needed.

Nice hotel for a short stay.

We only stayed one night and it was fine. The room is a bit small , nothing fancy, modern style and we were OK with it.
Easy to find. We arrive by train and took the bus from the train station, but is better to take the streetcar because the tram runs more often. Hotel has parking and is not expensive if you arrive by car.

Fine hotel close to historic centre

This hotel was neither exceptional nor terrible. The staff was nice enough, and the room was reasonably furnished and comfortable for the price. The bathroom did not have a closed-off shower, but that is not a deal-breaker for me. One downside is that with city tax, parking fees, and breakfast fees, this was not as good a deal as some other spots we looked at in Padua.

Good hotel!

We had a good stay at this hotel. What it may lack in room size, it made up for with customer service, which was excellent. It's a bit of a walk from the central train station but let's face it, if you hung out in Venice all day eating gelato and pizza, an extra mile walk isn't going to hurt. I would stay again.

Good location, Helpful Staff

We have recently stayed in hotel M14 for three nights and we were very happy about the stay. The room was very clean and the only issue was there is no Wi-Fi available in the room. I have to go to reception to get Wi-Fi access every-time. The location was the plus point of our stay as this hotel is very close to St Anthony's and st Augustine's basilica and there is also a tram station nearby. Padua bus station and train station can be easily accessed by taking tram from Prato Della Velle station. We booked this hotel because we wanted to visit Venice and Padua. We found it cheaper to book hotel in Padua and take train to explore Venice. All the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful especially the Indian fellow - Benny. Every time we pass the reception he was there helping someone out showing maps and describing things and he also manages the breakfast room. He helped us by answering any questions we had and was very helpful throughout our stay. He gave information about the attractions in Padua and even printed the train schedule from Padua station to Venice. At the end of our stay I told him that we booked the Hotel M 14 because of the good reviews and | wouldn't surprise why everyone is mentioning about him in their reviews. He is outstanding and the biggest asset of the hotel. The breakfast was delicious, cost €5 per person. I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Padua City.

Very close to the city centre

Excellent location easily accessible a very popular tourist and group tourist hotel. Staff dealt with residents quickly and efficiently. Breakfast excellent value for money and a large variety of food, celery, toast, fruit, yoghurt, savoury meat and chesses and sweet pastry choices Lots of drink choices, tea coffee, fruit juices.

Great modern hotel in great location

Very clean and nice modern hotel in great Padova location. Close to everything and the train station to all is a quick can ride away. All hotel staff were pleasant, accommodating and provided great hospitality. Highly recommend.

The hotel was comfortable and clean and the staff was friendly. The free wifi was non-existant. They have one hot spot, and if the hotel is half-full it becomes overloaded and impossible to use. It also didn't reach to my room, so I had to spend time sitting in the lobby. Not cool. Additionally, there was at least one group of rowdy high schoolers staying at the same time. They were shouting and singing outside my window from 8am to 9am on a Saturday morning and the hotel staff did nothing to stop them. Also not cool.
