We enjoyed our stay at the B Asakusa. The hotel was very convenient to the train stations, great restaurants and kombini’s. The pillows were soo comfortable, however, the bed was very firm which may be your preference. Overall, I would stay here again.

The hotel is in a great location for that part of Tokyo. Easy walk to the temple and the kitchen market and the vibrant nightlife.
The staff, however, was not friendly at all, in fact, they were pretty rude and this was not our experience anywhere else in Japan. They charged us extra for getting out of the room just 20 minutes after checkout time even though I had told them at the front desk we were late getting back because streets were blocked for a big festival and we would hurry up to our room and bring everything down quickly. The lobby was very small, smelled horrible, and was packed with tons of luggage for travelers who needed to leave their bags before they caught a ride to the airport. While that is a great service to offer, it made for a very crowded stressful lobby. We would come back to this area, but we would not stay in this hotel again.

Location is great - abt 7-10mins walk to Tawarachi Metro station on the Ginza Line. And the surrounding Asakusa area is lively, with many restaurants and close to the Sensoji Temple and Don Quijote. Room size for the twin room is comfortable and slightly bigger than the average room size in Japan. I love that their bathroom had a shower stall with a glass door that keeps the wet and dry areas separate. A lot of Japan hotels have those shower+bathtub combinations that are slippery, inconvenient to get in and out of, and often with dirty shower curtains, I hate those so I'm really glad I found this hotel with a good clean standing shower stall. They provide free snacks and drinks in the lobby from 8-10pm. The only drawbacks of this hotel for me are that the beds are really quite hard, and the daily housekeeping is minimal (towel change, amenities replenish, rubbish disposal) unless otherwise requested.

The hotel in on the perimeter of all of that, on an avenue with car traffic, but somehow it still felt very quiet and relaxed.

Location was within walking distance to the Senoji temple and Kappabashi street which was great. It's about a 10-15 minute walk to the main Asakusa station though. There's another Asakusa station near the hotel but it's for another company and appears to have trains that connect to other cities so we didn't use it. We were able to get to the Asakusa station from Narita, approximately an hour and 20 minutes, without transferring which was nice.

There are also many restaurants and a mall within walking distance.

The beds were a bit firm but everything was clean and they offer some extras like slippers, combs, razors, etc. The breakfast has a lot of options and there was generally a snack provided by the hotel from 8-10pm. There is complementary coffee and tea at the front desk as well. Would stay there again!

Breakfast was great. It was so nice to not need to think about breakfast our first few days in the country. We also mingled with other travelers during breakfast. The location was easy to get to and from. The mattresses are firmer than we preferred, but were in good shape and hard mattresses seem to be the norm in Tokyo. The room size was as we expected and worked well for our group of 3 in our price range.

The only negative item that came up unexpectedly was that the luggage forwarding couldn’t forward to a Yamato Transport location, only other hotels and airports. The move to our next location would have been much smoother if we’d known to plan time to take that portion of luggage to a nearby convenience store.

Room is small but clean and has everything. The beds are big. It is very convenient even from Narita Airport. Just one train and 15 mins walking thru mostly covered business/flat surface. It wasn’t too busy the day I was there however so you might need to take that into account.

Walking into the lobby was a wonderful experience as you are greeted by a beautiful jasmine fragrance as you walk through the wooden doors. The lobby has coffee and amenities, and little treats which made the stay so pleasant. The actual room was perfect for my stay as I didn't have a lot of luggage, and the location was great. I would stay here again!

I enjoyed my stay at the b Asakusa. The breakfast buffet was very good. The room was clean and comfortable. The donuts in the lobby at night were fantastic. Get there early because they go fast! The hotel is located on a Main Street close to everything! I loved the location. It was literally steps away from the Ginza train line and the Tsuba station.
Tip: Visit the samurai Ninja Museum and the Asakusa Sumo Club Annex. Both attractions are literally less than five minutes away on the same street!

This was the only disappointing experience we had in Japan. It’s marketed as a budget hotel, but even for a budget option, it falls short. During our five-night stay, the room was properly cleaned only once. On the other days, staff merely emptied the bins and replaced the towels — they didn’t even make the beds or clean the sink.

When we asked at the front desk about the cleaning schedule, we were simply pointed to a QR code on the desk and told the information was there. The staff were quite rude and unhelpful (none of them was Japanese btw)

The walls are dirty, and the overall condition of the hotel feels neglected and unpleasant. The only thing that looks nice is the reception area shown in the photos — which is misleading compared to the rest of the property.
I would avoid this hotel.

Aside from the convenient location, we were disappointed that our rooms didn’t have the in-room washer and dryer which was stated in the property description. That was part of the reason we chose this location was so we can wash our clothes since our stay was towards the end of our trip. Eventhough there were machines on the 2nd Floor, there were only 2 and they weren’t the cleanest.

We booked this hotel through hotels.com and needed two rooms. We paid about $300 per night per room, total of around $600 a night for four nights. When we got there we found that the hotel could be booked for $90 a night directly with the hotel and it was definitely only worth $90 a night. The rooms are very very small even for a hotel in Japan, which is typically smaller than the West. But to see that we paid triple through Hotels.com compared to what the hotel actually charges was outrageous. There was a rat over the ceiling of one of the rooms and was running back and forth and knocking the air conditioner filter in the ceiling around. We booked a Royal Park hotel in Ginza for THE SAME AMOUNT OF MONEY! And moved there the next morning. We had to eat the entire amount we paid in advance for b asakusa. I feel scammed. Total BS and I won’t be using Hotels.com again to book a vacation. Always call the hotel or look on their website to see what they charge for direct booking before using Hotels.com. This hotel is a good choice for college students or small families or a couple on a tight budget. It is a $100/night hotel, that’s just what it is.

Lobby and cook on areas were clean but the room itself was not. There were stains on walls and carpet and even food particles in some corners. Location was very convenient and not far from the shrine and a lot of restaurants. Staff were very friendly and helpful as well. The state of the room and how small it was for the price are the only things that make it less than optimal but if you are limited for options it’s not a bad choice.

The room was large by japanese standards and clean. Unfortunately i thought there was a washer and dryer in the room which is why i booked it. Unfortunately that was not the case. It took 3 hours to do 1 load. Thankully it was towards the end of our trip.

Hotel located in a good area. Rooms are small if you have 2 suitcases, and difficult to manage.
Housekeeping is quite basic. Only towels and trash collection done intra stay. Also, our in advance request to have 2 single size comforters for double bed had not been met. Breakfast was quite basic and disappointing for us in terms of selections provided.
