The staff were incredibly nice and efficient. The room was very clean and well prepared though smaller than expected. The images make them look bigger so if you have bigger luggage it may be a squeeze but we managed fine. The location is amazing, which I think is one of the most important factors in a hotel. I recommend the Asakusa area to everyone.

The room was clean, the staff were friendly, polite and helpful. There was a decent amount of options for breakfast. (I chose the Japanese breakfast at the restaurant with the cow on 1F. It was tasty.) There are local Asakusa food souvenirs at the reception area. I didnt try out the free drink. Locationwise, it's close enough to Tawaramachi Station that getting to the Hotel and going elsewhere was easy.

We just need 1 night stay and booked at the last minute (1 night in advance), everywhere else around Asakusa temple was up a lot and I found this one was pretty affordable and it turned out to be very cost-efficient.

The location is excellent and several minutes walk to shopping mall and Aaskusa temple, also a short walking to the Sumida River.

The hotel room is tiny but clean and that satisfied my need.

The front desk staff were nice too.

Overall, not a bad stay. The hotel could be nicer after renovation.

Staff was great, very kind and helpful. We stayed in the Triple room for 3. I think the room was better suited for 2 as they added a 3rd bed on the floor taking valuable space. Our shower/tub was not leveled correctly so water ran off the edge and onto the floor. We had to put towels on the edge to dam the water. Location was good, close to the Senso-Ji temple. Funny that they offered free beer until 7 (not sure from what time) but you couldn’t get a cup of coffee, even at the restaurant. We were there for one week and our stay was pleasant.

Service was great, location was awesome. Walking distance to Sensō-ji and Kappabashi. Had a deal for a 24 hr Tokyo metro pass for ¥800. Ice machines on 2 of the floors as well. Perfect for our short trip!

Staff was wonderful. The room was outdated and had an unpleasant…odor (mildew, musty and slightly like urine). There was black mold around the tub. The towels were thin and coarse. Everything else was fine.

The hotel’s cleanliness was the dirtiest that I have seen out of the 4 hotels that I stayed at. There was a stain on my blanket but I let it go. But what made me furious was that on the second day out of my 7 day stay, there was a cockroach on the wall. I addressed it immediately to the concierge and all they did was get bug spray. No offering of another room, no compensation, nothing. For a regular bug that’s fair, but for a cockroach, that’s ridiculous.

What made me more furious was that after the concierge who was a male, cleaned the cockroach stain after I killed it, I asked for the spray bottle and he hesitated to give it to me. You won’t give me another room so you can’t even offer me a 10 dollar spray bottle for future cockroach’s? I had to explain and make my case for him to give up the bottle.

My trip to Japan was great, but this hotel left such a bad taste in my mouth that it really upsetted my overall Japan experience.

Overall, very clean and larger rooms than expected for the price (relative to other Tokyo hotels anyway), generally quiet and comfortable enough. Bathroom has an extremely low ceiling so watch out if you're tall, and the facilities are very basic - bed, mini fridge, bathroom, and that's about it - and feeling pretty dated

I'd say plenty good enough, good for the price, but don't expect 5 star luxury

This hotel is in a great location near subway stops, shopping, and dining. The staff were very nice and spoke a little English. The rooms were small as expected but the bathroom was decent sized with a tub and shower. There was a fridge and teapot. Soft pillows were not available and the pillows were not what we are used to. There was a breakfast place in the hotel and lots of dining options. They also allow you to store your bags if you arrive before check in.

Great location to explore Asakusa. The room was rather small and no view but the wall of next building. Therefore, unlike picture, it was dark and bit depressing. But it was quiet. The room was clean with very basic service. A free glass of beer was offered when I checked in.( before 7pm.)

The room was dusty, the sheets had stains and the walls had what appeared to be blood/dirt marks. The bathroom had a musky/mouldy smell, and the bathing area had hairs in the tub when we arrived. Aside from the helpful reception staff and convenient location, we couldn’t wait to check out of this hotel!

Japan is known for a lot of small things, and this isn't an exception. In fact I think the room being pretty small is a charm of its own. Check-in/out process was very fast. The employees were easy to understand, although I did speak Japanese, so if you speak a decent amount you'll be fine. Bed and pillows are on the firm side, and the bathrooms are small as well. I'd say be careful to check if the room you're renting is in their \"new building\". If it's not then you don't really have control over the AC. There was a night where it got really warm and couldn't sleep. If you don't like it warm then I suggest bringing a pair of shorts for sleeping. Overall, I think this hotel will do just fine if you're staying in Tokyo for a few days.

Great hub for Tokyo visits

The staff here are very friendly, and the hotel is very clean. The standard rooms are a fine size for a few nights. And those that have been renovated are very nice. However, the rooms were quite warm, but at least we could open the window. This hotel is in a great location, with plenty of restaurants nearby, and just a short walk from the nearest subway station for exploring across Tokyo. It’s also near to Senso-ji, and other Asakusa attractions. I would recommend this hotel for first time Tokyo visitors

Stayed for 4 nts. Excellent price!!! had 2 oversized twin beds in room at the new building. The location is so convenient for shopping, dining, sightseeing and everything!!!
Rooms are spacious & clean, staff are friendly. Free draft beer offered at lobby daily between 4pm-7pm.
No laundry room onsite but there is one coin laundry only a min walk from the hotel.
We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Sunroute Asakusa and definitely will go back!!!

Overall good place to stay. Location was good, within walking distance of shopping and food. Water pressure in the bathroom was good. However, the bathroom did not seem to be fully cleaned, with a few strands of hair on the walls. Beds and pillows were firm. Pillows were buckwheat.

A good hotel to stay

Great location and sufficient room amenities. It’s within 5 min walking distance to SensojinTemple, Tokyo Skytree, and subway stations. The only issues is that the room is small and the double bed feels like between a full size bed and a twin. You might not have enough space to lay down a large checked-in bag on the floor. But I was told that this might be the case for most of the hotels in Tokyo.

The hotel is well kept. We stayed in the new section and are happy with the room. Breakfast is included and the two cafes offer good food. Very convenient location - lots of shopping/restaurants and very safe walking in the neighborhood . Subway entrance across the street. Will stay here again.

Great location spot and do appreciate the staff’s customer service! Room felt crowded, but it still felt cozy. My partner and I were not light packers, so this was also a factor to feeling crowded. Overall, would recommend!

Hotel is conveniently located just 2mins walk from Ginza Line Tawaramachi station. A short 5-6 mins walk from Asakusa Kaminarimon area with lots of food options shopping options around the vicinity. Property is a bit run-down but good value for money consider it is at the heart of Tokyo. Polite and friendly staffs!

Only one thing’s confusing the staff give wrong info when ask about luggage delivery service to airport. Suppose need 2 days but she inform me at least 3 days.

Location is undeniably convenient. The good pretty much stops there. The interior is old and tired. Smell from the smoking room off to the side by reception was very noticeable whenever we were in the lobby. Room is very small (which we have heard is the norm in Tokyo). Bathroom has raised floor which makes the ceiling height really short. It feels very castrophobic even though we are average height. Water leaks out of the shower/bathtub no matter how you position yourself and the shower head. There was even a sign in the bathroom warning guests to point the showerhead onward to avoid water getting onto the floor. Nothing works. We had to soak up the water from the ground every time after showering. Cleaning was not done thoroughly prior to our check-in. We found an used cotton swab on the floor. Maybe this is a case of you get what you pay for, in an expensive city such as Tokyo.

This hotel is in a great location, close to public transport, restaurants, convenient stores and the Senso-ji shrine is less than a 10 minute walk away. We arrived very early and left our bags at the reception and came back an hour before check-in time as we were exhausted from roaming around and thought we’d just wait in the lobby. The staff were kind enough to allow us to check in a little bit earlier without us even asking. The room we stayed in was comfortable and was very well maintained and clean. We had fresh towels and robes dropped off at our door every day as we didn’t require the room to be cleaned. Very nice staff. Would definitely stay here again.

The location is good and a.lot of restaurant around, near temple and subway station. The.only i did not like is the flooring of the japanese room. We've been tripped a lot of times in that floor because is was not uneven. Need to fix that flooring. It is so dangerous especially for elder.ones. But I like the other rooms. The toilet was very.clean and also the facilities. We got 3 rooms.for our family. We really had a great time. Enjoyable stay at hotel sunroute asakusa. We will surely come back.
