The hotel is decent for the price. Just don’t expect a lot of space. The rooms are about the size of a size 13 shoe box, but if you’re only looking for a place to shower, sleep, and store your luggage, it does the job.

The location and value make up for the lack of space, but if you’re traveling with more than two suitcases, be prepared to get very close with your belongings. At that point, one suitcase might end up sleeping in the bed with you while the other takes the last remaining floor space.

Overall, good value if you’re planning to spend most of your time exploring and not hanging out in the room.

We were there for 5 nights and the rooms were actually super small, totally not suitable for two people for two large suitcases. Also the hotel has over 600 rooms but only 3 washing machines. We tried using them 4 times but they were always busy with over 2 hours wait. We didn’t waste time doing laundry as we wanted to see Tokyo. Maybe the hotel should provide a laundry service? That’s the only reason why I have given it 3 stars because other then these few things the hotel was clean, staff was helpful and the property was close to a lot of food places and of course a 7 eleven right outside the door!

It is a good hotel to stay for a night or two in Asakusa, the location is very good being close to the Senso-ji temble and Ueno market district/park. I you want to see Asakusa this is a good spot for staying the night and store your luggage. Don't expect any luxury, the room is small but not super small. It is enough to feel comfortable. Staff was helpfull with check-in and english only speakers don't need to be afraid, staff can help you in english aswell.

3/5 Hotel for sleeping, not for enjoying luxury. Price is standard. Would stay again for wisitting Asakusa.

The staff spoke English and were very helpful. The hotel is in a great location. It’s in Asakusa but just outside the madness. Kappabashi is around the corner, Ueno station/park is walkable. An easy walk to the Sumida River.
Just outside the entrance are a great cafe, bakery, Izakaya, and a yakitori stand!

Hotel was fine, but value for money somewhat limited by the front desk automation process. While attendants are helpful where possible, they are limited by the booking system (for example, continuing a stay).

Oddly low frills. Room cleaning process with towels and trash is a bit hit or miss.

A pleasant stay within walking distance to many good sites and the wonderful Happy St. The room was comfortable but very small, bed against the wall so had to climb out on one side. The staff were excellent, understood our needs and were friendly and helpful. Hotel is very clean and breakfast included is substantial and tasty. A very good stay.

Great stay for the price. “Double” room was tiny for two people, (comfortable) bed against wall, with no space for clothes (hooks on wall). Super clean, lovely staff fantastic location right on Ginza line. A bit cramped for our 5 night stay but what a great price and location.

Friendly and helpful staff from the day you enter and leave from a smooth check in process to making sure your room is clean and never run out of towels, yakatas, etc. Breakfast sets were delicious and healthy at Komeda (connected to the hotel) with the soft fluffy toast, red bead spread, and yogurt with honey (to kick start that gut with all the delicious food to eat around Asakusa)

Loved the public bath! Great to soak and relax after a day of fun and all the walking. Will book again when I come back to Japan!

Since the moment we walked in the hotel the staff was very polite and friendly, they were able to to assist us with our questions and gave us directions to our places of interest. The hotel was very clean as everything in Tokyo and they provided clean towels and toiletries every time we needed. Definitely a great place to stay in the future..

Check in was difficult. It took a long time to find our reservation.

The room was described accurately, but we would reserve a different room in the future. A full size bed is sufficient for me and my husband to sleep in, but the room was too small for two people and two suitcases.

That said, the room was perfectly clean, great amenities, bathroom was fine.

Centrally located, great customer service, clean. The reason is not a 5 star for me is because of the smell in the corridor, bathroom and room. The carpet in the corridor are run down and the fact that the cleaning staff throws everything on the floor, dirty towels, sheets and garbage every day while cleaning is a bit no no for me.

The bed was very comfortable. I had a 9 day stay and was able to sleep well which was something I was concerned about especially as a plus size woman. Although the room was small it was spacious for Japan standards. Bathroom was also a good size and easy to maneuver.

Cleaning staff were excellent. They always made sure we had ample supply of linen for bathroom and trash was collected daily. Mandatory cleaning of room every 3 days. Concierge service very helpful too to find transportation route to certain areas of city. I did not care for self check in as there is no staff at counter altho there is someone to assist at check in at automated machines.
Rooms were small and tight even for single traveler but okay enough to fit my large and medium size luggage.

check in is a bit hassle when their system cannot find our reservation and it's already 1 am in the morning when arrived, but the staff are really helpful with the check-in and they're all polite, that helps us feel more at ease.

the hotel is near the 7/11. there is also a café underneath the hotel that you can order through uber eats for pick up if you do not want to fall in line and want to eat inside your room. there is also currency exchange inside and a vending machine too. it's also walkable to don quijote, ichiran ramen, sushi rrestaurant and subway stations!

I wasn't able to try to onsen (I think) on the 14th floor, but I heard that it's always busy. I also wasn't able to try the laundry area as I saw the review that they only have 2 washer and 2 dryer available for the whole hotel. I hope they can upgrade the laundry area as it's very convenient to have one inside the hotel room. they also have a luggage scale which is very helpful, put my mind at ease.

for the room, I already expected it to be small. I make sure next time to ask if they have a room that is bigger than we had because we can't even fit our four 23kg luggage and there is no storage area underneath the bed, though the room is clean and the housekeeping make sure we have fresh towels and bathrobes everyday.

also the airconditioner and heater are centralized so if you feel hot, just ask front desk for a fan like we did.

overall, I recommend this place. safe and clean.

Clean room. APA Hotels are expected to have a bit of a smaller room, but it was still comfortable enough for a solo traveler with just a standard carry on bag and a backpack. The public bath was refreshing. There is only one washer and dryer, but the downside is that the washer takes 30 minutes but the dryer needs 2 hours or sometimes more to finish so coordinating that can be a hassle. Somebody had actually taken my clothes out and put theirs in in the middle of my dry cycle which was kind of annoying. Also the temperature in the room can be warm at times especially during the day if your room faces the sun. The window at this particular hotel couldn't be cracked open to let the cool air in either which would've been perfect as it was 60F outside most nights. The cleaning lady was also very nice and helpful too.

Great hotel - for a few reasons. Tawaramachi Station right out the front the hotel. So many convenience stores within walking distance. An easy walk to a delicious little local restaurant (Asari 111). Asakusa was a great area to explore. We went to the Sumo Club for a show (recommended!!!), shopping for ceramics and homewares on Kappabashidogugai Street, Senjo-ji Temple and so much more. An easy subway ride into every attraction in Tokyo and the best part of all, a lovely onsen to soak the day away. The reception was friendly and helpful. They gave me change for the laundry, we were able to wash and dry clothes and checkout was a breeze. 10/10

The staff’s hospitality was excellent. Although I arrived before check-in time, they kindly stored my luggage for me, and they also kept it after check-out. There is a large bath on the 14th floor where I was able to relax and soak away the fatigue of my trip. However, while there is a laundry machine, there is only one, so if another guest is using it, it would be impossible to use unless you have plenty of time.

First time staying at an APA and it was amazing - room was a decent size, breakfast was via the adjacent Komeda Coffee and was toast, yogurt and a coffee.

Also a great way to try the Japanese public bath experience via the one on the top floor.

Very close (as in right next to it) to Tawaramachi metro station and not far to walk to Kappabashi Shopping or the Senso-ji Shrine area.

A great hotel for a modest budget.

Maybe it is par for the course in Japan (this is my first time) but by US standards the breakfast was pretty shabby. In general, the place was overrun with huge groups. The staff were working hard but barely managed. English was subpar, too. Not a good place for a solo traveler
