A tired and weary building, in need of renovation, filthy in parts, air con noisy and rattles. The hotel joins with a similar attached hotel, and shares a dining room, so breakfast was busy, and average. Parts of the room were very aged, around floor/wall junction there was a lot of perished jointing materials. The lifts were slow and overworked, the balcony did not have any furniture.

Arrived late as we had a long drive. One member of staff on reception so was waiting a long time to check in. 1st room allocated had not been cleaned properly, safe did not work and was turned round completely ?? Patio doors did not lock and the air conditioning units for the hotel were right outside our door so it was extremely noisy. I asked to change rooms but the lady at the reception said that she had to send maintenance up to check what I had told her was true !!!!! I couldn’t believe it - this was about 8pm and we were tired and just wanted a functioning room so we could freshen up. The staff on reception were miserable and unhelpful throughout. We eventually moved up to a higher floor but again the safe did not work !! This room could have done with a good clean too. There were stains in the bedsheets. Won’t stay here again. Needs condemning. It seems to me that the residents in the hotel are second class to the people that live in the apartments.

Very run down establishment. Only 1 lot of shampoo and body wash provided for a couple over two nights.
The air conditioner is noisy and only operates at 18’.
There is no towel attendant for The Shore Hotel patrons ( share middle pool with Swisse Gardens who pay less for rooms and get towels) and vending machine was broken, so couldn’t get water or snacks.
There was always issues with the elevators.
Not much in the shopping complex.
Loved the Roof Top Pasma Bar. Staff there were absolutely amazing.

The residence didn't have WIFI but the place was good, clean and spacious overall. The toilets were clean too, although not perfect, is well maintained.

Water pressure from the shower is so-so but can do the job. The only drawback is that the cupboards seems a little dusty, so we didn't put anything in.

The aircon to the gym was also not working and equipment doesn't seem to be very well maintained. However, it should be ok for the price.

I’ve booked apartment and studio suite. Both units are quite spacious but the conditions are not really good..wall paper in the apartment being tore, no unifi, airconds are not well functioning. As for the studio, the bed sheet got some stains and some parts are tore and housekeeping should be improved.

Nice Place, Not Customer Centric Trained Staff

I booked 2 Rooms, me and my friend. I happened to reach early and wanted to check-in both rooms and get the keys as my friend will arrive past midnight. The Staff refused to allow me to check-in on behalf of my friend, unless he sees the ID of the person; even though i booked the room under same booking. After exchange of unhappy and unpleasant conversations, finally we got the room and it late night and miserable experience of checking-in.

I parked the car next to the hotel and to find that in the morning that it was premium paid parking and hotel did not update anything about parking while checking in.

The room internet wasn't working.

After few years of numerous visits and even booking this place for friends and groups, this experience leaves me no choice and i have no plans to book this hotel again.

Overall, it makes my last visit to this place...

THE WORST HOTEL NOT ONLY IN MALACCA, BUT IN MALAYSIA
- The whole unit is dirty! There are lots of dirty marks on the sofa. euuww.. The wall and toilet wall are dirty. It’s like they can’t afford a cleaner
- No Wifi! Come on man.. It’s 2022 already!
- Extra towell need to pay rm10. Whatttt???? First time in my life!!
- Oven and washing machine are not allowed to be used. Then what’s the purpose of putting those amenities???
- The parking is confusing
- RM1.5k for two nights with this bad condition, not worth ghe price at all

Horrible room. The toilet was dirty with soiled toilet paper on the toilet floor when we checked in. The phone on the table wasn’t working. The heater wasn’t working. The aircon wasn’t cold. The basin was clogged. There are no good channels on the TV. One man receptionist. Told them about the basin clog , but they didn’t bother to repair it or change my room. Extra towel is chargeable . No daily housekeeping . First and last time to stay there. One word - horrible.

Check-in process not so convenience. No Bell Boy can help for your luggage. Not Baby Crib available even in filter Hotel.com said got. Water heater not function, technician come then okay. But afterward our unit was blackout at 3 AM, but no technician available, they said we need to change to another unit. No wonder this hotel only got 3 star. Only got 4 lift available. Their level 2 the Shore Ocenarium and the Shore Sky at level 42 floor is awesome. Worth to come to these 2 place if stay here but closed every wednesday. Plan properly.

I travel alone,1st my room aircon is spoil and try to call service line ,but nobody answer the call,so that I pack my bag everything go down and ask,2nd they change new room for me, when I go in to the room I saw lizard past by beside the cup, and the door lock is doesn’t work,,and I try to call service line, again nobody answer call.i when down 2nd time, they just ask me back to the room wait for the technician ,wait almost 30min just settle the lock,well very good funny experience will be 1st ,and last,thanks

There is a stench smell at the corridor level that I stay at floor 11. Must wait Long time for the lift as once it’s full load, it will miss skip your level.

The most disappointing is u have to pay $10 ringgit for additional towel although u indicates in hotel.com website. The floor manager said if book directly through the hotel website will be different.

To use the pool service, the Swiss garden hotel have pool towels for their guest whereas the Shore hote guest have to bring their own from the room.

Not likely to come back to this hotel during my next stay!

My only grouse was the aircon in the room which was not cold enough. Luckily it was just for a night but that aside, I am very happy with the place. It was my second time there. The staffs were friendly and nice during check in. Great job to them!

Property looks exactly how it was portrayed in the photos, however issues like clogged drain at shower area, spoilt shower head at bath tub, low water pressure and time taken for hot water are issues with the bathroom. The sofa has a sweaty smell and dont even lie back on the only chair in the room, as u will definitely fall flat on the ground. Long waiting time for the lift is also an issue, on average 10 to 20mins wait, as there are 42 levels and only 4 lifts per block. There is also a notice at the lift lobby to i form guests of thenlong waiting time for the lifts.

1st time staying in this hotel. Check in was ok. First impression of room, door was covered with dust. Room was spacious. Only 2 bath towels, no hand or face towels. No bath mat. Bathroom floor can be wet and slippery as one steps out. Stayed 2 nights but no housekeeping or replenishing of water on 2nd day. Lifts are slow and always full.

We thought this was a good place to be at especially for the kids. We thought the children attractions in the mall would be good for the kids but they were just so so. The mall was boring and there was only 2 restaurants in the mall.
I thought we purchased with breakfast. We always do especially with kids. Found out that we didn't. Then we found out that the place for breakfast was in the joint-neighbouring hotel, Swiss Garden.
The pool was in a poor state. The water temperature was very cold. To cut the long story short, there are better hotels and the same rate or lower.

We had 1 night stay in a 3 bedroom apartment. Good location, very big living space and kitchen. There is a washing machine however cannot be used. Lifts are horrible, took us 30mins just to get downstairs from level 13. We had to keep pressing the up and down buttons because the lift keeps skipping the level and went on to the next without the door opening. We couldn't take the stairs as we had luggage and seniors. Staff are quick, however lobby space could be bigger with a better system for bell boys. Rooms and toilets are clean however bedsheets had multiple stains on them and furniture is not well maintained. Overall alright experience, will be better with better system for lifts.

Cleanliness needs improvement. Overall stay is fine. Only uncomfortable on the Toilet. It has a glass wall with frosting done three quater way. Not so ideal for friends sharing or family with older children sharing as can see through almost 50% when you shower. If you don’t mind it than it’s ok. Mall downstairs also have nothing much to shop. Food wise rather limited.

If you value your time, avoid this hotel

For a hotel with 41 floors, they only had 3 check in counters and the check in area is small. There was a large crowd during check in and the wait time was about 30-40 minutes. The signs to the check in counter was also confusing as we saw it was on level 3 at the parking. Later we realized that it was moved to Level G.

We stayed on level 29 and the room was NOT clean. The towels, bed sheets and pillow cases had brown stains.

We came here for the kids pool. The condition of the pool was ok. There were some tiles missing from the pool floor. You could probably get better options for the same or slightly higher priced hotels. If you really must stay here, opt for the lower floors or nearer to level 9 where the pools are. They don't provide pool towels, however they will change your room towels for you.

At check out we had to wait for 45 minutes for the lift. Another family told us they had to wait for 1 hour for the lift.

Overall I would avoid this place unless there are no other options available.

The Shore apartment

Apartment was big, however, condition of rooms were much left to be desired. Wardrobes have a very musky smell. Sheets looked dirty and there were dustballs around. There was a long trail of ants around the rooms and toilet. Though it has a kitchen, there were no pots/pans or anything available for cooking.
Convenient area though, with the river cruise just outside the residence and a mini mall next to the apartment.

The hotel would be pefect choice for normal days. Convenient things around the hotel like 3D Interactice, Oceanarium, Sky tower, nice swimming pool, very good place for kid... But dont go on public holiday, too crowded and the lift is a pain. Waiting 20-30 mins for lift is just a normal thing there. Room service was also not very good. I doubted if they changed my bed sheet after the previous guest checked out as I saw new stain in blanket, pillow smells old.

There are Absolutely no services. Rooms is not clean; rubbish left to overflow; no dishwashing detergent; no sponge or table cloth; no telephone to call for service; NO breakfast; NOT allowed to use the laundry machine; no direct lift to room ( it was a maze to reach your room if you can get into an available lifts); NO cooking utensils; No clothes hangers; No WiFi; NO cable channels on TV (just local channels)
The room is over priced for all the NO as above.

Carpark was bad. The location of the lift to the hotel lobby was not clearly shown and we had to turn round and round. Check in service was poor and slow. Good place to stay in the Heart of Malacca

The room is very basic. Two super single bed, with basic TV Channel (a bit boring), small fridge, iron and iron board, sofa bed, toilet, and balcony. The shore wont tidy up your room if stay longer than one day. Need to ask for exchange towel and top up of amenities.

Location is good. Near Kampung Morten and can see the cruise passing by from room. Only 5 minutes walk to Pirates Park. Great place to take picture.

The water park and swimming pool at level 9 were the best attraction among all. Kids love to play there. But at level 9, the wind is strong and kids cant handle the coldness. After all, will stay here again.

Unfortunately, the lift is a bit slow. Only 4 available lift to cover all rooms in 40 levels. The parking also very confusing. Remember to search for "A" parking lot.

The apartment was conveniently located, about a 5 min walk away from Jonker Walk. The apartment came equipped with basic amenities.

However, the apartment's cleanliness was a big question - there were cockroaches in all bedrooms and living room, the linens smelled bad and the entire apartment had a musky, mouldy smell. The white doors were mouldy and you could actually see the black spots/mould! While it came equipped with kitchen equipment and a washing machine, the oven was faulty and we were not allowed to use the washing machine. There were also no crockery so we had to eat noodles from the pot (which we bought). We requested for room service to clean up the apartment but it NEVER happened throughout our entire stay of 4 nights. They were severly understaffed and we had to reuse our dirty towels for 5 days. There were only 2 lift to service the whole building (26 floors) and we often had to wait more than 20 min to go from first floor to our apartment.

It was an overall, terrible experience. For families looking to book an apartment, you are probably better off elsewhere.

Worst experience ever

first and foremost this is not the first time we stay at the shore so we can clearly made a judgement call and shared the worst experience we encountered.

the sharing of lift and waiting is a trademark in this hotel if you ever like to consider staying but we are fine with that, just simply avoid the peak hours if possible.

but our stay was totally beyond acceptable standard of any hotel worthy to be included in the website, it started of with basic house keeping, we were staying for 4 nights and everyday we have to keep calling housekeeping to house keep.

not only the fact that there is no one answer calls whether is calling operator, housekeeping, customer service etc, but we were informed that there is a need to call for housekeeping? seriously?

then on day of check in safe deposit box not working, toilet glass door unable to close but credit to them issues were resolved within an hour. but the safe went dead again on the next day and the wait started from here, after 30 minutes the technician came and left after 5 minutes where he failed to open the safe which gets me worry, then he disappear from there and we tried numerous call to the office and was informed he need to get the tools, then the wait extended for an hour another hour where we gave up and left the room for dinner.

to my horror, the safe was open upon our return. the best part is they took out the belongings from the original safe and transferred into the new safe, how on earth can staff open a safe

Not worth the money

The staff (4 guys at the lobby upon check in) are very rude. Not friendly at all. I stayed at 3 bedrrom apartnent. They wont let u check in early even when the room is not occupied by anyone the day before. I reached hotel at 1.30pm and wanted to leave the bags in the room before heading out for lunch but they said standard check in time is 3pm. The earliest is at 2pm. Unlike other hotels i went before, i can even check in as early as 10am if the room is not occupied by anyone. The toilet is not really clean. The water is slow. The bedsheet got stain. The furniture is like a second hand furniture. They dont provide towel at the swimming pool. No intercom. If u need to call the lobby or the staff, u need to call the hotel directly from your handphone. And no wifi. And there's only channel 1,2 and 3.

Location was good. Shopping centre below. Pool was fun for kids. Same complaints as others. Lift waiting was horrible during peak hours. Place looks not well maintained. Paints peeling off.

Ok ok la...

Perhaps it's peak season. We had 3 rooms altogether on the 12flr. Noise from the pool was terrible. Worst is the elevator, take too long to come and mostly full load (over loaded infact). Pity the staff having to use the same lift with heavy trays. Wonder if they have service lift. Check in/out was smooth despite high occupancy. Convenient as is within the mall.
