Reached at around 7.30pm and the restaurant was closed when it was supposed to be open until 10pm. Call for room service and was told it wasn’t available. In the end we had to drive out for dinner as there was zero food options nearby. Unlikely to stay here again.

Mattress seem old, too soft and not firm, very uncomfortable to sleep. Bed sheet was very old and has turned yellowish. Shower was good. Provides drinking water with water filter. Asked for laundry bag but was given a small trash bag. Counter staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, not very satisfied with my stay in Ibis Hotel.

Overall, it’s acceptable, except that the air conditioning in the lobby isn’t always turned on. The lounge has no air conditioning at all, and the gym’s air conditioning is switched off when no one is using it. Walking into the gym feels like stepping into an oven—so stuffy that it’s impossible to work out. I really don’t understand why they have to save on electricity like this.

A comfortable stay.

The room we were given initially had a broken air conditioner after the first night. Despite several attempts to fix the problem, it was unsuccessful and we ended up having to change room but from a double bed (which I requested in my booking ) to two singles. It wasn’t ideal but with a working air conditioner, it makes up for it.

Ibis in Malacca is located close to old town. But the property shows it's age. A pool area is much smaller, then pictures suggest and the rest of outdoor space is mostly concrete. The breakfast buffet was average.
But for one night it was OK.

We spent 4 nights here. Room was clean and cleaning service was sound. Sheets and towels can be upgraded as there were minor wear and tear - most likely related to the age of the establishment. Bottled water can also be improved as it taste weird so we went for mineral water from the local supermarket. Super convenient location and walkable to all the main venues as a tourist in Melaka.

Perfect place to stay panaroma 17 stops right outside. Perfect for travelling from Melaka Sentral bus terminal. Pool was lovely perfect temperature. Breakfast was plentiful but some food was cold. Very busy when tour groups are there. Some food empty by 7.15 had to wait to replenish it. Staff are lovely in all areas. Room was always cleaned promtly each day. Would recommend to stay there walking distance to Jonker and Dutch Square and riverboat tours.

For the price this hotel has the best value. Swimming pool is huge! The location can’t be beat, yet the hotel is still quiet.
We would have preferred a long bed, but the queen bed was so comfortable we didn’t even notice the size. One of our best stay hotels in over 2 months of travelling! More check in staff would be beneficial as the lobby is very busy from 3-7 pm

Frustrated Check-in and Extra Payment vs Invoice

Ibis Management ought to put the right resources at check-in 3pm EVERYDAY. Last Sunday I checked in and there's only ONE lady doing check-in for 20 people. Was told hotel manager on leave and so no one to look at slow bad customer service issue. This is VERY LOUSY SERVICE.

Next issue Hotels.com said I pay $x at properly BUT at Ibis I was told to pay R$xxxxx which I dispute. The same ONE LADY asked her office staff to help BUT after waiting SO LONG there's no update. I paid R$xxxxx cos I don't want to hold back the line. BUT need Hotels.com to clear with Ibis management why is your customer being charged $xxxxx instead of just $x !!

I stayed alot of times in Ibis and from now onwards I will NOT book Ibis anymore. Hotels.com as I believe will check on your prestige hotel customer service feedback and do your own investigation and REMOVE Ibis from your booking list if they keep on ignoring your customer feedback.
.
Ibis management should CROSS TRAIN their 3 staff who were sitting down at the restaurant and others waiting around. Go watch your cctv Sunday 3pm and you would agreed with my strong feedback.
.
And give an award bonus to that ONLY ONE LADY who worked so hard alone for hours to clear those check-in crowd.

Stay at Ibis Melaka

Ever since Ramada closed down, our choice are Hatten & Ibis. Ibis has good location, within walking distance to Jonker & Bukit China, that's why the room rate is on the high side. Overall Ibis is comfortable but Hotel is only 5 storey high so dont expect senic views. The front counter staff said all room has front street view but ours (#519) is on side of bldg looking at an old deserted bldg n an opened car park behind the hotel. We usually dont buy hotel breakfast but ts time paid RM66+ for 2 on the last day bcos rushed to catch an early bus to KL. Personally l feel their bfast opens @7am is late as compared to Ramada (@6am) & Hatten (@6.30am). There were abt 20 pax waiting, some lugged with luggage probably to check out immediately after bfast and all rushed in at 7am when lights on. But Tea machine and egg station not ready. Upon chkg a staff said chef is busy in kitchen. Coffee house is almost 60% full with many more coming in. Chef Archit slowly opened the egg station at 7.15am with abt 10 pax queued waiting. This definitely needs to be improved.

I slept there for a duration of two nights and have some concise feedback to provide.In general, everything is satisfactory for me, although there are areas that could be enhanced:

1. In order to expedite the check-in process, I must endure a 20-minute wait.There exists a method to accelerate the procedure.
2. When a group arrives for check-in and your lobby becomes too congested, it is important to consider how to effectively segregate the throng in order to ensure the comfort of your in-house guests.There exists a method to accomplish this task.I was present at the location, and it was too loud.
3. Your breakfast is completely obsolete.I should be knowledgeable about the appropriate cuisine to serve for various nationalities.The paratha was exquisite.The sausage abruptly departed in such a manner.I requested wholemeal bread, which was indicated by the food tags. However, when I inquired about it, no one was familiar with this type of bread.Your refills were excessively sluggish, indicating a flawed mis en place strategy for accommodating high occupancy.The service workers had previously notified the cook, and it is evident that all of you are operating without proper organisation.Let's convene and deliberate on strategies to enhance the overall quality of our hotel service.If you require any aid, I am prepared to provide support based on my extensive 25-year experience in this business across multiple locations.

EVERYTHING IS GOOD!!! Location (within 10 minutes walk to Jonker Street), clean, spacious, shower (NICEEEEEEEE with strong water pressure), well maintained, hairdryer (nice, consider strong wind for hotel), lights on bathroom mirror (convenient for make up), direct USB charger, wide variety of TV channels, nice bed and pillows, bolsters (ya there are bolsters!!!), no smoking hotel!

For improvement: The room cleanliness / maintenance can be better. There is a small stain on the towel. The floor is a bit stikcy too. I have to wear the indoor slippers everytime I am in the room. Basin water pressure is small. (Shower water pressure is superb.) But overall is still acceptable and well maintained.

Overall it's a BIG BIG LIKE for IBIS HOTEL!!!

Good choice for a Melaka stay

Overall, a good choice for a Melaka stay. 2-3 nights is the ideal amount of time to see Melaka.

Ibis Melaka (Room 351):

PROS:
1. Modern, upgraded room;
2. Blackout curtains allow for a dark room and ideal sleep, but bring some black tape to cover the red LED light coming from the television;
3. Bed is very comfortable with nice mattress and soft, comfortable linens;
4. On-site restaurant and bar are useful and convenient;
5. Available outlets/powerpoints near the bed/nightstands;
6. In-room mini-fridge & coffee maker;
7. Hot water available at bathroom sink;
8. Plenty of areas to place/store items;
9. Ideal location to walk easily to the sightseeing and tourist areas of Melaka;
10. Guardian health store and pharmacy/chemist located directly across the street;
11. Full-length mirror in-room;
12. In-room comfortable couch with footrest;
13. Very quiet at night. Good for sleeping!
14. Good security: cameras everywhere, guard positioned outside, and room keycards only give access to room floor;
15. Nice swimming pool with fountains and kid slide.

CONS:
1. The staff here, while helpful, seem very serious and rarely smile. They are not very friendly and outgoing, which is unusual for the hospitality business.

The floor feels sticky. Bar fridge and safe deposit box were spoilt. The shower screen door could not close.

They give only 1 room card, second card available upon request and requires a RM$20 deposit.

The tiles in the car park pop up and hit my car when I was driving out.

Sadly, the hotel feels poorly maintained.

The service of the cleaning crew is good as they helped to call maintenance to replace the fridge and repair the safe deposit box quickly.

The only good thing about this hotel is its proximity to Jonker Walk & night market. Less than 10 min walk. Housekeeping did not clean the rooms despite requests. 1 of our 2 rooms had a mild sewage smell and the other room smelt of cheap perfume. Parking is in an open air carpark behind the hotel. There is no gantry and I did not see any security guard post nearby. Food at restaurant was passable but tonnes of better options near hotel.

General experience was pleasant. We arrived at 2 am in the morning. The front desk staff sounded cheerful which perked up us a bit. It was nice to have a cheerful greeting when we were feeling tired. Decent room, comfortable with Astro channels. A little bit noisy if the neighbours have kids who laugh loud or slam the door. Luckily they slept early enough not to make noise in the night.

The swimming pool was not big but was clean and comes with 2 water slides, big swinging bucket of water and mushroom shaped rain shower. The children enjoyed the pool very much. Huge car park for convenient parking. Walkable to Jonker Street, Jalan Bunga Raya and The Shore. To walk to Dataran Merdeka will be the farthest, needs 20 minutes.

Hotel facilities are in tiptop condition. Air cond and water heater working well. Even bed came with pillows and bolsters. There is a workout room with enough equipment for a good exercise.

Definitely my favorite hotel in Melaka. Will come back.

Bed and pillows were too soft, resulting in bad nights sleep and an aching back. Requested a replacement towel after dumping one at the pool side which was overcrowded but never got it. Breakfast for additional person was chargeable though already stated in the bookings that we had 2 to a room. The Cafe was packed during breakfast and no SOP was monitored. Many guest were without mask and gloves while picking up their meals from the buffet. It's been a long time since i visited Ibis and after this trip I remembered why.

some of the staff are not properly trained. unable to provide correct information and thus service is quite poor. i am quite shocked that they gave guest unstable bed with legs supported by wood. it is very dangerous especially for those travelling with kids. my child was pointing to it and asked why is the bed shaky. the room have poor sound insulation and noisy because it is not carpeted. i can hear the kid upstairs running around.

and the main concern is the SOP for Covid 19 is very poorly done. just the swimming pool will be a good example. nothing was done to control the crowd.

Cool Business Hotel!

Good hotel. Friendly staff. Accessible to Jonker street within 7mins walking. The only thing was, room’s toilet not properly clean up, still got hair (previous guest) on the floor and near the water tap. I hope the housekeeping crew should be more cautious on it.

My fav hotel stay in Melaka. This could be my third time staying at this property. Still a very satisfying one.

Cleanliness tops the chart. Air-cond is strong, the room was cooled within minutes. Property is walking distance to a lot of popular eateries and attractions. I was there for leisure, driving around was easy.

On the second day, the toiletries were not replenished and the coffee sachets were missing. The cleaners made it up immediately when we brought it up to their attention.

A great stay. We will return.
