We stayed 4 nights at the Emerald Hotel in May 2026. It was the perfect location--right at Deak Ter but on a quiet street. The room was cleaned every day, and the shower was especially nice. Breakfast was included, and it was the largest assortment of food I have ever seen on a hotel breakfast buffet. The staff were very helpful with directions and restaurant recommendations.

Lovely hotel in great location. Friendly staff and clean rooms with good amenities. (Slight niggle is no conditioner, but not an issue)
Tea/coffee making in the room and blackout blinds too for a good nights sleep.
Central location made most activities walkable. Highly recommended

The hotel was perfectly positioned in the centre. The staff were extremely helpful, polite and friendly - nothing was too much trouble. We loved the electronic games table in the reception area, near the ‘coffee corner’. Our suite was a great size with everything we needed and was super clean.The breakfast buffet had a great choice of food and drink.

Comfortable room. The beds and linen are very good. Lobby has a drink station with coffee, tea and water all the time. Staff is courteous and helpful. Housekeeping is quick and reliable. Bathroom is on the small side but functional. The shower door does have a knob that is super hard to pull open with wet fingers. The toiletries are ok, but smells like certain public washroom…

I loved this place. Since it’s still shoulder season, I booked a week. Normally the price would be beyond my budget, but what a treat. Everything is so new and tastefully put together, the colours, fabrics, furnishings. Push button curtains as well as a breakfast in bed option. The buffet breakfast itself was top notch, great selection of hot and cold dishes. The location was superb, minutes from the metro and Danube, 20 minutes from the train station. Something else I was looking for was a gym, and again I wasn’t disappointed. Everything clean, plenty of cardio machines and weights. Do the walking tour with Andor - it leaves two minutes away from the Lutheran church and is well worth it. For military history buffs, do not forget the nearby commonwealth war graves cemetery, and for lovers of all things Roman, the new dig at Aquincum. Combining the two makes sense. Budapest is wonderful made all the better by places like the Emerald.

This place is impeccable. Breakfast buffet is very good, awesome coffee in the lobby. Location probably the best in Budapest.
The bartenders are great, articulate and friendly. Totally recommend this hotel.

Clean room. Had everything we needed for a 3 night stay. Shame it listed us as having a terrace which lead me to think that we had some form of balcony but sadly this was not the case. Regardless, the hotel is stylish. The staff are all courteous and helpful. The location is perfect for exploring the city on foot and is in a lovely area with plenty of places to eat, grab a coffee etc. Bars also in walking distance. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Budapest

We had a lovely stay at this fabulous hotel.
Hotel is spotless and beautifully decorated.
Rooms a tiny bit cramped but big enough for a few nights. Lovely breakfast.. we didn’t eat in the restaurant at any other time.
Staff are friendly and helpful at all times and the reception is 24 hr.
The location of the hotel is brilliant… central and close to many restaurants, bars and the waterfront.
A half hour walk to the castle district, similar distance to the parliament building and the citadel.
We would definitely return.

Such a beautiful city .

The only thing we didn’t like about are room was we had no shower just a shower over the bath .which wasn’t great to wash ur hair with
Having to lean over the bath .the room was nice apart from a missing free standing shower
I should off noticed this when booking .

Very impressed with this hotel. The location was absolutely perfect. Walking distance to everything you could want. Rooms and showers were great as well. Friendly service. Breakfast was good although they could have done with a better process for sharing utensils when serving from the buffet. Felt a little unhygienic when sharing the same utensil for multiple dishes. The toaster could do with being upgraded as it barely worked.

The hotel was clean and cosy, with an excellent location close to restaurants and public transport. It’s also conveniently near the airport bus (E100) and within walking distance of the main attractions. Free coffee, tea, green apples, and water are available all day in the lobby, which was a nice touch. The staff were friendly and helpful, and there are secure lockers available to store luggage if you arrive early or check out before your flight. Fashion Street is just around the corner, making it perfect for shopping and exploring the city. Highly recommended!

The Emerald Hotel was fantastic, we stayed four nights and it was very enjoyable. We had to check in very late the first night, but the staff were very kind and efficient. We woke up to a beautiful room - 14’ high ceilings, very comfortable bed, and a spotless modern bathroom. Everything worked flawlessly and the size of the room made our stay extremely comfortable. I wouldn’t hesitate to return, the hotel is a 5 minute walk to the Chain Bridge, and 10 minutes to St Stephen’s Basilica. Lots to do and see near there too! Thank you to the kind staff, and especially the breakfast crew who put out a fabulous buffet every morning.

The hotel is located in the city center, where vehicle access is restricted, so it wasn’t possible to drive directly to the entrance. However, the hotel guided us to park at a near by parking garage and kindly assisted us with our luggage, which made the arrival smooth and stress-free.

The staff were helpful and being situated in the town square made it easy to explore the surrounding streets on foot, adding to the charm of our stay.
Overall, the staff’s kindness and attentiveness truly enhanced our experience.

The room was well presented and clean, it had a decent king size bed, tv, coffee/ tea making facilities, wardrobes and a safe. The ensuite was nicely fitted out too.
Complimentary tea, coffee and water is available in the foyer which was excellent!

Location wise, it is about 10-15 minutes to the chain bridge, the Parliament, and the Jewish Quarter. The main shopping street is literally around the corner from the hotel.

Overall a great hotel and location. I would stay herr again.

I had an amazing stay at the Emerald Hotel; from all of the hotels I've stayed at in Budapest, it was my favorite. The room was comfortable, clean, and had a great view. All the staff were extremely helpful and would promptly deliver anything I needed or asked for. The location was perfect and everything we needed was within walking distance, along with beautiful scenery. Would highly recommend.

We enjoyed the hotel very much.
The location was excellent. Close to the main shopping street but in a quiet place. Close to the subway station.
We got the corner room. I caught it on sale, so it cost the same as a regular double room, however it was not very spacious. One side of the bed is very close to a closet/dresser and a pole that stood in the room very close to the bed. it was hard to pass through that side of the bed. So I would not recommend paying extra for the corner room.
The bathroom was very good, great shower. Not a lot of space around the sink for all the makeup etc.
Good breakfast. Coffee from a machine but not bad. You can order from the bar but it costs extra.
Comfortable bed.
I stayed there with my daughter- Would come again with kids :)

It is hidden away alongside a church in a one way road . The rooms look into a small courtyard and at the side of the church so if noise bothers you this is your place . Wonderful and very helpful staff , very comfy rooms with all facilities, full choices for breakfast , a bar . Great location for walking to all main attractions especially shops , fashion street 2 mins away. Perfect rooftop bar also 2 mins away

We were spending a weekend in Budapest and chose the Emerald because of its central location.

Our room had a lovely terrace (shame about the rain😢).

The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. Note there are no coat hooks so there was nowhere to hang our wet clothes.

There is a major problem in the bathroom. The large bath was excellent but there is no separate shower. There is a “handheld” shower head but it was impossible to use it without flooding the bathroom.

Others have praised the breakfast but sorry, I found it a bit dull and repetitive.

All the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful.

The Emerald Hotel is an excellent standard. It was opened around 2021 and has modern facilities and is well equipped. It is beautifully clean and the bathrooms maybe the best we've seen. Great power showers, choice of sprays, very clean and endless hot water, heavenly! The staff are very friendly, polite and helpful. It's in a great location for shopping and accessing the tourist sights. All of which are walkable. I can't recommend highly enough! We had a wonderful stay!

We could hear the lift shaft in room 424 but we had ear plugs. My only advice if youre a light dleeper would be to take ear buds or ask to be away from the lifts.
