The hotel design is really lovely - room without window is not ideal - It can be noisy at night as the bar/restaurant is not really separated from the beautiful gallery where the rooms are located - However, it got quieter after 11:00pm and I slept well - worth staying, if only for the design - breakfast was delicious

I would absolutely stay here again because it’s adorable but my room was right over the kitchen and it was SO LOUD! The beds are not the comfortable either but for the price you deal with it.

I found it incredible that a kitche was advertized but there were no cups or plates anywhere to be seen, and the staff at the restaurant refused to give us cups. All we wanted was to make some tea and we could even do that using the shared kitchen. They told us to go buy cups.

For a hostel it was expected that problems would arise but for one there was no water for 24 hours because the city is under water restrictions but it would have been nice to know.

In addition there was hot water only 3/5 nights, they had no tvs but only hdmi for people who had lap tops, when we asked for Apple TV as their sign promoted they did not have such thing.

They did not do daily housekeeping as I paid for in a private room therefore no new towels either, as the shower door did not close and water kept spilling out onto our bathroom floor.

The front desk knew minimal English and did not have good directions to anything.

Music was on till 11pm so just be aware if you are a lite sleeper.

Great thing is the area was walkable distance to food, markets and touristy museums.

If you did any of the famous tourist things you would have to book and it usually took 2 hours to get there and back, so keep that in mind if you are staying in this downtown area.

I would probably still come back because the price and location.

Book yours privately instead of the the hostel.

We booked the \"rockstar suite\".. my only regret is not spending more time at Selina. Beautiful BoHo property, loved the size and privacy of the suite, and the staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly. Looking forward to staying again soon!

Love the old world charm of building, staff were friendly and accommodating and people some English which was helpful! Bathrooms need repair (stalls don’t lock, no paperwork entire stay, tp holders broken), walls very thin so lots of very loud smashing in night even though i wore earplugs. Cafe on site was adorable and made a great cappuccino! I’ve stayed at hostels before but only private rooms. This was my first time to have a private room with shared bathroom. It was doable!

Beautiful building but a terrible nights sleep.

The Selina here has great potential but was a let down. A mattress with no support, creaky floorboards, thin walls, and poor quality windows meant we found it very tricky to sleep with all the noise that went until 2am, and then started again at 6am.

Lovely location, friendly staff, and decent food, but if you want to be able to sleep, consider staying elsewhere.

Looks just like it did in the pictures. They play loud music which can get annoying at times. They usually stop before 11pm. Drinks are overpriced and food is okay. There is a breakfast place up the street to the right. You will need other options. Also they have heaters so request one. Overall 4/5

We booked a room with a private bathroom.

When we arrived, we were told that we would have to use a shared bathroom.
We immediately changed locations, but the property still charged us full price.
The receipt clearly showed the room was booked with a private bathroom, but the guy at the desk said that recent rain had caused a shortage of rooms.
He apologized, but still charged me full price.

The walls in the older portion of the property are very thin ir not completely sealed between rooms. Noise between rooms is loud and can inhibit sleep in this front area.

The hostel/hotel is more of a restaurant than a venue to stay. I was in the main building above the bar in a private room (booked for peace) and live music begins very early at 7am and runs until 11pm. They had people selling goods in the foyer. More interested in profit than giving their guests a restful nights sleep. There is definitely a balance that needs to be achieved. I was told the music would end at 9pm, it went on until 11pm so I had to complain and was met with blank stares from management. I asked for country managers details to complain, I was never sent these. Terrible hostel. Would not recommend at all.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Selina hostel. It was within walking minutes of a few museums, a convenience store, restaurants, and the plaza de bolivar. The room we stayed in (rockstar suite) was amazing! The floors were creaking a lot but the views were amazing ( Monserrate, Guadalupe hill, church, city skyscrapers). Felt like we were staying at an apartment. The property was very lively, lots of young travelers! Reception was very helpful. Hostel offers COVID tests and some free tours. Felt safe since they always had a security guard in front of the property. I would recommend for any young travelers! Would not recommend for families because it does get pretty loud at night since they have a lounging area and restaurant/bar. Would definitely come back to this hostel if I come back to bogota.

The Candelaria area is the perfect area to stay at while in Bogota. It’s close to do the amazing Graffiti tour that the hostel recommends. The hostel offers a lot of activities to get to know Bogota in the best way. Lively music at night, staff is very helpful. Huge thanks to Jack at the front desk for helping me book my bus.

Location was super. We walked all over, including to Monserrate teleferico. Front desk and bar staff were excellent. Highly recommend if you want to stay in the old town of Bogota. Can't wait to return someday.

Pros: The property is beautiful and the rooms are very nice. Comfy beds. Mostly friendly staff. Junior is the best!

Cons: Noise. Walls are very thin and hotel has construction all around, street noise, internal noise, etc. If you are a light sleeper in any sense of the word, it's a pass. Some staff were unfriendly and it was difficult/very slow to order breakfast.

Great location in la Candelaria

Breakfast was simple, rooms were small. It looked like the building behind us was a brothel or some sort which didn’t make us feel quite so comfortable but all in all, we were fine and safe.

Great location in la Candelaria and close to the monserrate, but everyone kept telling us to be careful at night and to not go out so that made us feel uneasy as well.

Very funky cool place, BUT very little hot water which is an issue in Bogota as it's cold here. No shampoo, no drinking water, (available for a charge at the desk). The \"Rock Star\" room is lovely and quiet with amazing views. Definitely happy overall with my stay, but they need more attention to detail and they need more HOT WATER!

We really enjoyed our stay at Selina's - rooms were spacious and very clean, and staff were super friendly and helpful, especially the security guards. We left early in the morning and the security guard made sure we got into our Uber safely! We will be staying at Selinas hostels from now on :)

Avoid - the premium accommodation. It is ironically situated over the bar and not sound-proofed. There is loud noise and vibration day and night from below, the adjacent communal area, and adjoining room. Othewise, a cool place to hang out and nice, efficient staff.

Nice hostel and location is great but my experience with especially a girl working on the reception was not great.
She literally didn’t want to do any work when I asked I wanted to book a airport transfer for a certain time in the early hours of the morning when previous guy reception told me I could book this via them. She just said come 5 mins before and we will book you a cab.

Better than a hotel!

Best Hostal I have stayed, it looks more like a boutique hotel, even people walking down the street wanted to go in to see the place. I had a private room with share bathroom which was very clean.... There are a lot of good looking and inviting common areas. Little theater is very cool, they have yoga classes. Convenient restaurant and bar with live music at night, noise did not get to my room at all so it’s good to have a good night sleep if you Don’t want to go out. There is a small XOXO convenience store right next door with an ATM, and it’s walking distance to main sights and the free walking tours. The staff are awesome! Super friendly, helpful and very sweet!
Highly recommend it.
I did not want to leave Bogota but it was because the hostal :-)

escolhemos um quarto que chamam de unique e, pelo preço, esperávamos algo mais tranquilo e silencioso. infelizmente, o hotel é barulhento, mesmo após 10pm - pessoas conversam o tempo todo e o quarto não é à prova de som. além disso, o café da manhã, que estava incluso para a nossa categoria de quarto, era sofrível, ruim mesmo. escolhemos o selina porque nossa experiência en berlin foi excelente, mas não indico o de bogotá. único ponto alto: a localização do hotel é uma das melhores da cidade e, nesse quesito, fomos muito felizes!

Avis aux voyageurs réservant un lit dans le petit dortoir (celui de 8 lits, 14m2) C'est petit on dirait un placard! Vous ne trouverez pas de photo de ce dortoir sur Internet, les seules photos existantes sont les dortoirs de 6 lits (+ grand + d'espace + de hauteur sous plafond)
Et pour cause, le petit dortoir n'a pas de hauteur sous plafond, n'a pas de fenêtre, certains murs pourrissent à cause de l'humidité, il n'y a pas vraiment d'espace pour les sacs et valises, et il donne directement sur la cuisine commune.. Photo ci-contre. À éviter donc, préférez les plus grands dortoirs un tout petit peu plus cher.
La cuisine commune de cette hostel n'est pas vraiment équipée, très peu de vaisselle et pas de verres et tasses du tout..
Sinon à part ça le personnel est sympa et arrangeant et le bâtiment est très beau, classé monument historique.

Attention aux photos trompeuses. Les chambres Deluxe présentées avec les boiseries et briquettes ne sont pas celles louées. Soit disant Expédia et Booking auraient mélangé les photos... le petit déjeuner inclus ne permet pas d'avoir ni fruit, ni jus d'orange. Il faut payer un supplément. Bel bâtisse, bien placée mais c'est un peu l'arnaque aux touristes...

Hôtel bien placé et agréable dans l’ensemble.
En revanche accueil catastrophique. Nous sommes arrivés à minuit après notre long vol. La personne de l’accueil ne parlait pas un mot d’anglais et nous n’arrivions pas à nous faire comprendre. Il a voulu nous faire payer le soir même alors que nous avions déjà payé mais surtout il nous a donné une chambre ne correspondant pas du tout à notre réservation. Elle était propre certaine, mais sans fenêtre et salle de bain. Ce n’était pas du tout ce que nous avions réservé. Nous avons contester mais rien à faire. Accueil très désagréable !

A localização era boa mas houve muitas coisas que deixaram a desejar. Reservei um quarto com ar condicionado e sou surpresa com a chegada ao quarto atribuído sem esse equipamento. A entrada para o quarto era escura e pingava água do tecto pelo que tinham um balde la na nossa entrada mesmo.
Água era muito pouca. Aconteceu várias vezes estar a lavar a cara e a água acabar e o mesmo no banho, que ficamos sem água a meio do banho, nem quente nem fria. Quente era uma sorte ter.
A cama não era confortável, era bastante dura.
O lavatório entupia frequentemente com pouca quantidade de água.
Ouvia se também bastante ruído dos outros hóspedes.
No geral, a experiência não foi boa.
