Air conditioning in the room didn’t work and all 3 days felt like a terrible experience. Went down 20 times to reception, they would start the ac and then it would get turned off in 10 minutes. Didn’t have a remote for ac to manage myself, had to walk down to reception after every few minutes asking them to turn it on as it kept on getting off.

Sadly we had a great experince in hostel Viajero Cusco peru. So we assumed we would have the same in Bogota but that wasn’t the case. We booked a private room, it smelled moldy and had a noise like a washing machine going on all night.

When we walked in it felt more like walking into a bar then a hostel. The receptionist at our check in was really nice but the next morning at 6 am the receptionist was cranky and unhelpful. I simply asked for an extra key to a two people room and before checking he said he dosnt have one. Then I insisted and he magically found one right infront of him on the desk.

We quickly decided it wasn’t the place for us and packed our stuff and left the next morning, at check out they didn’t even bother to ask why we were checking out three nights early.

Defnitly more like a loud smelly frat house then a hostel. And the area is unsafe at night, even the taxi driver dropping us off told us to be careful. And we are a Turkish Syrian couple. Not easy to scare if you get me.

Very social/party hostal, they host many events weekly for guests to gather and meet! Staff are incredibly helpful and nice :) Prime location, close to mayor attractions in el Centro. Bed is moderately comfortable, decent blanket. Only downside, my dorm had a lot of mold in the shower ceiling and window area which looked disgusting sadly. Overall though, highly recommend if you want an upbeat social stay in Bogota!

Okay place to stay

The location is close to the main sites but not safe to walk around at night on your own. There's no restaurants close by. It's VERY LOUD on friday night because there's a big party in the hostel until 1am and you can hear it. The security guard is excellent and friendly and helpful. The reception staff are not that helpful - when asking them questions they didn't seem to know answers or would give you 1 sentence answers that were not helpful .You can't control the AC in your room, you have to whatsapp the reception to do it, and you cannot control the temperature. The spa in the hostel was good, I did a massage. The food at the bar was okay - i had a burger.

Also, 3 steam rooms and 1 sauna included with your reservation were sooooo great for the days when you want to just relax. Absolutely recommend

Avoid at all cost.

What a horrible experience. First they gave us a room with a shattered Window. Then they gave us another, we couldn't get the AC to work. Apearently you have to ask them to set it from the main control panel. BUT it didn't work either. The hot pools, are extra charge, which seems very bizzare. Over all I got the feeling that they didn't care about us and it seems to be run by untrained kids.

Great Budget Hotel

Rooms are very nice and exactly as pictured! The lobby could use a facelift but if you don't plan on spending much time in the lobby it't not a big deal. Staff are nice and free coffee and popcorn are available.

Only one real complain is the front door/entrance, when you return at night. It's a bit dark and door is hard to slide open.

When you are traveling you have to make every cent count, unexpected and unsolicited expenses are never nice. This hotel Falsely advertise that the breakfast is included however, upon my arrival, the receptionist was quick to tell me that the breakfast was not included, it would be an additional $60 and it is a nonrefundable reservation although I paid the “insurance offered by CheapTickets”. After arguing back-and-forth and going nowhere because of the language barrier, I decided to call CheapTickets. After almost an hour of expensive international phone calls, I was told I would need to pay for the breakfast and they would reimburse me. However, the reimbursement can take up to 15 days.

Very close to Uniandes and downtown. Staff is warm and polite. Unfortunately the hotel is very dark, there was any type of meat on breakfast, bath towels set was always incomplete and to share the room with cockroaches was quite unpleasant. But I am aware that the price does say a lot about what to expect.

Super convenient to all of the sights and bus transportation throughout the city. Very comfortable bed! The staff were very helpful with transportation needs. Breakfast was good, not fantastic. Did anyone get food poisoning from the breakfast that was served on Saturday January 26, 2019? I got horribly sick after having breakfast that morning, I immediately felt nauseous and got sick. I was immobilized in my room for the next two days and worst of all I still had to fly out to another city. I tried the orange juice but other exotic fruit juices that I did not recognize the flavor are offered however, not kept cold or over ice. I had sliced fruit and butter on pastries which were also not kept over ice. I did notice the the butter had retracted but didn’t pay too much attention about it, I believed it could have been the quality of the butter but now I’m convinced, it was never kept cool and could have possibly been the cause of food poisoning.

We were happy to see them lock our bags in a closed room when we arrived early. We were not pleased when we returned to find the manager had left for the day and taken the keys. He refused to return. The kitchen staff managed to break in with a knife. Finally getting to our room there were no towels or soap. That was also locked up. They got a few small ones from somewhere. An hour wasted of our short stay in Bogota.

Exceeded my expectations

This is one of the nicest places that I have stayed in Bogotá. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was perfect, in the central area near the National Gold Museum of Colombia and the central shopping district. The facilities were excellent including the spa where you could relax and unwind. The breakfast was delicious which included a fruit plate to start with, freshly squeezed OJ, flowed by eggs cooked to order and freshly brewed Colombian coffee. Above all, it is located in a safe location.

They didn’t change sheet for new guests

I am quite sure the staff does not charge the sheet when I checked in.🙄 so don’t expect it can be very clean. The location is good and the receptionist is nice, and other facilities also meet my expectation; but the cleanliness is certainly undervalued by the management. It’s also so drama that when I went to breakfast, they told me it’s not included; but later they come to tell me it’s included.
What a mess 🙄 I think the facilities and location are still good, but if the management does not value its cleanliness and communication, it will not be a happy stay for guests.

Hotel entrance blocked during day for ongoing repairs,both elevators
broken and very old and dangerous looking.

Fresh painting producing strong odor gave me a headache,could't fall
asleep.To my opinion this hotel does not belong on your list.

Great hotel for the price.

Overall the hotel was great for the price. I had read that construction was completed in December but it was still ongoing when I arrived. One of the reasons I had decided to go to Bogota when I did is that I was having my bathroom remodeled so I was really disappointed by the ongoing renovation. The room wasn't fancy, but the location was great and everyone I encountered was friendly and helpful.

The hotel is really well located.

We had a really good experience. The staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. The lobby is beautifully decorated, and although our room was pretty plain in decoration, the beds were comfortable, and it was an okay place to hangout. The spa was a great treat, especially after a day of sight-seeing and walking.
The only downside - the walls are a bit thin, and the hotel wakes up early. I could hear guests talking, yelling or waking up at 6 am. Our room faced the street so the street noise could be disruptive. We went to Bogota in November, when it is a bit cold, so we thought the room needed a heater or at least extra blankets for the evening. The shower was super lovely. The rooms were always cleaned. Free wifi didn't always pick up in the room, but always in the lobby.
The breakfast was nothing fancy, but functional.They did try to make it special - fresh juice, fruit, eggs.
I would return to the hotel if I had to go to Bogota.

Rooms are small and bathrooms have no ventilation and thus mold is present on parts of wall and ceiling. The wifi works well and the shower always had hot water and strong stream. The mini-fridge, continental breakfast, and spa services ($17 for 1 hr massage) are a plus.

The staff was friendly and always willing to go beyond to make sure that guests were having a great stay. The staff is what makes this place great, otherwise this place would not be worth the stay.

Definitely worth staying here for 2-3 nights to explore the local area, but no longer than that.

After 2-3 nights you will want better amenities than what this hotel can offer.

The true value of a night here is around $30-35/night.

Off to a great start!!!

The location is perfect, the price was also perfect! It seems they are renovating and trying to vamp up the the place. The room I ended up with was lovely! The staff was beyond incredible they helped with everything I needed since I don't know Spanish. They were welcoming when I missed my flight and delighted to have me for an extra night! Just a few things missing from the room, like a lamp, alarm clock, etc. Otherwise, I would definitely stay again. Breakfast was really good as well! Thanks Rafael and team!

Nice and cheap hotel close to centre

This hotel was very reasonably priced, 55 dollars for 4 persons in a big room with bathroom! It's located in a busy area, with some traffic noise but in walking distance to the centre. The hotel is nice and generally clean and stylish, with a nice spa area for free use by guests. The staff was very pleasant and helpful with taxis, luggage storing and every request we put forward.The food in the restaurant was not great and I would recommend you eat elsewhere.

Great for a quiet chilled one - spa was a bonus

I had a nice stay at Montserrat. I decided to stay in a hotel after 3 months of hostels in South America, and for the cheap price I paid this place ticked boxes for me. I had a comfy double bed and made the most of the jacuzzi and herbal steam rooms which are included in the price. The neighbourhood isn't great but the hotel is right next to the mountain, where you can get some great views of the city, and taxis are cheap to get anywhere in Bogota.

Great hotel close to the Candelaria

It is really a great hotel. The room was clean and the staff were nice. I arrived twice after midnight and they made my che inc really quickly. I traveled with my girlfriend and they were not homophobic at all as you would expect from some people in Colombia. They also gives directions every time we need and they kept my computer in their main desk several times for security reasons.The location is also great you can go walking to the Monserrat mountain which is the biggest attraction in Bogota.

I didn't have breakfast so if there's a rating for that please ignore it, I don't think some of the features advertised on Hotels.com exist, like the co working space and rooftop there isn't any outdoor space, I think there was a rooftop but they built another dormitory there, and it was the one I stayed in, it is well renovated, but extremely cold, they should put a heater in it, and add ventilation until the bathroom because it's already going moudly and it looks extremely new. The hostel was really clean, and I met some nice people whilst I was staying there, but it doesn't really have any cozy hostel like spaces, it's an old hotel that was renovated into a hostel and you can tell, I think with a little extra it would be a perfect hostel. I am also not sure if they do yoga there does not seem to be any space for it. Probably if they moved the reception/bar to the front window it would make a better use of the space and it would be better for all of the activities they try to have. Also the luggage storage room exists but like it was tiny with no organization for the size of the hostel they should at least put in shelving so people don't have to move 50 bags out of the way to fetch there. There was a kitchen and it was reasonably well equipped, microwave etc. The hostel was extremely clean and the staff were nice, but distant, probably could have done with some international staff/volunteers because it felt like I booked to stay in a student union bar not a hostel.

The place itself was ok. Good location and nice rooms. The day we arrived the hostel was having a concert in the lobby at 23.00. I’m very happy with social happenings during a hostel stay, but I was tired and wanted to sleep. The noise was incredible and they kept at it until at least 01.00.

Also the rooms was more dirty than i’m used to. Dust on the floor and stains on the sheets.

Wifi was really slow.

Service was good.
