Location location. This hotel is walkable to everything in Candelaria. Lots of food and shops close by. Staff are very helpful, breakfast is great. If it’s in your budget try booking the 4th floor rooms - they have great patios. If not the shared terrazzo is wonderful for sunset. I’d stay here again

A Perfect Hotel in Bogota
A wonderful boutique hotel, with an excellent location. It was so artfully decorated and I perfect condition. But what makes it stand out was the staff who treated my wife and I as if we were family. I had a mild health episode while there. They found medical attention and there concern was sincere. I would highly recommend.

It’s conveniently located near the fun part of Candelaria, and there are police everywhere up there to make you feel safe after a night on the town. It’s easy to get to the best museums and attractions, so if you’re in Bogota for a few days, this is the place to stay.

The Hotel Casa Deco has a great location, within easy walking distance from the major sights, restaurants, and museums, and only a block away from the exciting "Chorro" plaza. Our room, although right above the street, was relatively quiet due to the sound-proof windows. The only (minor) complaint was that breakfasts were rather simple, consisting of cooked-to-order pancakes, egg, or omelette, plus fruit, bread, and coffee.

Great room in a great location at a very good price but the real story here is the exceptional staff. After a welcome tea that we loved ran out they brought a pot to our room. When we requested they call a taxi for us at 530a (to the airport) they offered a bag breakfast on the house.

Decent hotel, tough area
The hotel itself was fine. Breakfast was good, but the same few options every day. The pillows were ROCK HARD. As was the bed. Tough if you're a side-sleeper like I am. The area of La Candelaria wasn't that great, despite every travel guide saying it was where most tourists went. Zona Rosa/Zona T is a way better neighborhood and a lot cleaner and safer, with more to do.

This is a terrific hotel in La Candelaria.Convenient to restaurants, shops and bars. The hotel is a great old place with interior upgrades.
The staff is excellent. there are English speakers and all are very welcoming and helpful. we had a terrace room on the top floor. the room was beautiful and the view from the terrace was lovely.
Two drawbacks: there is no elevator. Staff will take your bags up and down, which is great, but you will climb at least one flight of stairs to get to your room. A least on the top floor there is no central heating, so you rely on a portable electric heater which works fine but you need to warm the room for a while to get comfortable.
This is a terrific hotel, though. I would stay here again.

A delightful stay in a great hotel. Superb location, one can walk anywhere from there, hotel very clean and very tastefully decorated. Added bonus is a beautiful terrace on 4th floor with great views. Only marred by people using it as a smoking terrace!

A Pleasant Stay
This is a lovely boutique hotel with much to offer at a reasonable price. It has a good location within walking distance of many Candelaria area attractions. Every morning begins with a hot, cooked to order breakfast of pancakes, fresh fruit, eggs, arepas, croissants, freshly squeezed juices,etc. The breakfast is excellent, very filling and you can eat as much as you would like to. The staff is helpful, friendly and hardworking. All lobby area staff speak excellent English, so there is no communication problem. Everyone is responsive to your needs: they are always willing to provide assistance with sightseeing tour arrangements, dining recommendations, as well as bringing extra heaters to the room, because Bogota can be chilly at night. The art deco style building actually appears much better in person than it does in pictures. The rooms are spacious, clean and have nice bath amenities. The rooftop terrace is charming and it offers great views of the city. The only disadvantage is that there is no elevator. All in all, I would definitely recommend this hotel for service, value and location.

The hotel carries out its theme of "art deco" in every way - from the wonderful art reproductions (including in the rooms) to furniture in the dining room. Very nice, ample breakfast. Very helpful staff. Location was very good for us, quite close to many of the things we wanted to see. Very nice roof terrace. Complimentary hot coffee and spiced cider available most of the time. Our only problem was with people sometimes walking and talking loudly outside our room at night.

Near major museums and good restaurants, I had room 403 with its terrific balcony. You have to walk up and down a staircase as is often the case in Colombia, but I enjoyed this hotel. Wonderful suites.

It's a beautiful and secure hotel located within walking distance to everything you'd want to see in La Candelaria. Its just close enough to walk to the funicular station for Cerro Monserrate. The staff was extremely helpful in arranging airport transportation. They were ready with a map of the city and restaurant recommendations. Breakfast at the hotel exceeded my expectations...its more than just a standard continental. It is an older, but modernly remodeled building...my room floor creaked a lot. Regardless, I would certainly stay again and highly recommend it

Great small hotel in heart of La Candelaria neighborhood. Walkable throughout entire neighborhood. Staff helpful and friendly, breakfast good! Beds comfortable, pillows a little high and stiff for my taste but everything is clean and lovely. Bathrooms modern with all appropriate amenities. Fantastic value for the money.

We had a bit of trouble finding the hotel as the numbering is a bit odd in this area, but from reception onwards the experience was great. Good security and very helpful staff at reception, a fantastic room (though be careful not to slip on the wooden floor) and a lovely bowl of fruit for breakfast. Personally I didn't like the open stairwell, but it was worth going up to the terrace for great views over the city.

The staff were wonderful. Coca tea, aromatic tea, and coffee were available in the lobby 24/7. The aromatic tea is FANTASTIC! One morning there was a wonderful classical guitarist serenading us at breakfast. It's special things like that that make a hotel stay memorable.

Well placed for city centre and restaurants
Interesting hotel an easy walk from the main square. The surroundings were a little worrying at first, especially as we were there during some political activity, but in fact it is a student area and safe with good restaurants. Friendly staff. Good value. Pleasant bar area but we left before breakfast

I spent two nights at the Casa Deco at either end of a trip to visit Cartagena. My only complaint would be that the curtains did not block out the street lights completely and that there was quite a lot of external noise from traffic and people.

Stayed for 3 nights here and loved the location of the hotel - close to tourist attractions - walkable to most sites. The hotel staff is friendly and thoughtful. They took note of my birthday and surprised me with a slice of cake with candle and sang to me at breakfast. The included breakfast was good - bowl of fresh fruits and eggs with pastries. Coffee, coca tea & an herbal hot drink is always available for free in the lobby. My room on the 4th floor was across the hallway from the rooftop terrace which provided views of the mountains and surrounding area. Overall, I highly recommend the hotel!

We had a good 3 nights with Casa Deco in Bogota. We arrived very early in the morning and the staff were super helpful by allowing us to have a room to rest in because one was available.

Great hotel, but a few issues to be worked out
Very friendly, helpful staff and a beautiful place overall, with great decorations. We really appreciated the 24-7 coffee and tea as well. Very nice, walkable neighborhood. A few minor issues that added up, however, were a sticky floor in our room, the fact that the doors are really hard to open, to the point that we pulled the knob clean off at one point and had to switch rooms as a result, and the absence of any heating (it gets a lot chillier in Bogota, at least in April, than we thought).

I really enjoyed my stay at the Casa Deco Hotel! For starters, I arrived in Bogota from the US at ~ 7am and the hotel allowed me to check in early (~730am) without paying any fees. They also let me have the complimentary breakfast while I waited.
The hotel is ~ 2 blocks from Candelaria and ~ 1 mile from the base of the cerro montserrat climbing trail. This means plenty of bars/restaurants/clubs in the area, but the noise wasn't too bad after I closed the windows. There are always (legit) taxis waiting in front of the hotel. There is a pharmacy less than 1 block away and money exchange 4 blocks away.
The hotel staff is invariably friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and willing to speak spanish. There is always complimentary coffee in the lobby. The breakfast is mediocre but free.
The price is very appropriate.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again in the future.

We had an excellent welcome and staff were always friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and had attractive art work as did the rest of the hotel. There were fabulous flowers and plants all around the hotel. The roof terrace had a great view and was a lovely place to relax. A good breakfast was served. The location was in the heart of the old city and it was great to have a view over the street. We did not find noise a problem, even though our room overlooked the street. There was a very handy and excellent Italian restaurant just a few yards away. We took a taxi after dark for anything further away for security reasons. The area was fine in daylight and really handy for the main sights and Montserrate.

Hotel Casa Deco was right in the middle of the Candelaria district. The old city. It had a beautiful terrace on top of the hotel with great views of the city. The rooms were very spacious and clean.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Hotel Casa Deco. It is an eclectic building and very well maintained. The rooftop deck was a great place to enjoy a bottle of wine purchased in any of the nearby shops. The staff was friendly, helpful, and easy to communicate with regardless of my poor Spanish skills. We has to leave for the airport early before breakfast so the desk staff packed us juice boxes and sandwiches, at their offering, not by my request – just one example of the staff going out of their way to be helpful. Our quarters were large, with both a bedroom and a sitting room, and a modern bathroom. My only negative note was that the hot water was not overly hot. However, to be fair, I found this to be the case every place we stayed in the country so I cannot hold it against Casa Deco. I would not hesitate to stay there again!

Great location right in hip, old Candelaria area
We loved Hotel Casa Deco. The breakfasts were delicious and complimentary, the staff was so warm and friendly and helpful and full of suggestions. And our room was a big bright space with a nice balcony looking out over a colorful block (though we were waken up a couple of times by noise on the street it was worth it for the view and for the overall great experience.)
The Candelaria was our favorite part of Bogota. The area around it is full of students and restaurants and coffee shops. Maybe not safe to walk around in at night, but we loved exploring during the day and at twilight too. We stumbled onto an art gallery and a museum and the area was so beautiful at dusk.

Bogota's fascinating museums and wonderfully eclectic historical architecture surround this great boutique hotel, situated in the heart of the Candelaria neighborhood. You can walk to all of the major tourist sites and easily catch taxis to visit the Zona Rosa and emerging neighborhoods like Macarena. Bogota's Best Hotel
The staff at Casa Deco was terrific. Everyone worked to make our stay enjoyable. The breakfast was outstanding: juice, fresh fruit, pancakes, and lots of Columbian coffee. We even had a guitarist for entertainment. The nights were chilly, but the staff provided a space heater. The staff gave us wonderful directions and suggestions for making the most of our days in Bogota. They couldn't do enough for us. I would recommend the Casa Deco again and again.

Hotel Casa Deco is a very pretty and well designed hotel. The hotel staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The only down side to the hotel was that the room was not very insolated for sound (you could hear everything in the common areas and the loby from my room) and the water pressure in the shower left a lot to be desired. If the hotel could address the noise and water pressure issues, this would be a 5 star hotel.

I spent hours searching for the perfect romantic hotel for my lady who enjoys clean, modern design and art. Hotel Casa Deco delivered. This is a beautiful little hotel located perfectly in historic La Candelaria, Bogota. Within quick walking distance of many great destinations including the museum of Fernando Botero (el Museo Botero), the Museum of Gold (Museo de Oro) and the cable car up to Monserrate overlooking the entire city. The hotel itself is relaxing and elegant. The rooms have just enough amenities but no clutter or distractions. Added-cost items like laundry/ironing and the mini bar are reasonably priced. Please note - like most buildings in the area, there is no heat or AC and the windows are not well-insulated. This means the room can get chilly after sundown and there is noise from honking taxis and nightlife. If you are sensitive to this, bring warm PJs and earplugs. Again - this isn't unique to this hotel, as most buildings are constructed this way. There are a few American hotels in north Bogota, but you'd be missing out on an amazing experience if you pass on Hotel Casa Deco. Be sure to take a hot mug of aromatica or cafe Colombiano up to the rooftop terrace and relax in the afternoon sun! I will definitely be staying again.

Price is about right. We asked the hotel to provide a car from the airport – which they did very efficiently. The hotel itself was clean and smart, and easy to find. Desk staff were helpful, spoke some English, and provided good advice. Breakfast was good - the usual large array of juice, fruit, cooked option, and of course good Colombian coffee – and the waiter was very patient given our total lack of a common language.
Minor complaints were (1) it was a bit noisy first thing in the morning – outside traffic and people noise, but also a lot of clattering about by staff at 6am (the rooms are based round a central atrium with hard walls which acts as a sounding chamber) (2) No heating in the room – given the cold Bogota climate, we were shivering by 8pm, and were grateful for the ample good quality bedclothes.
But otherwise, a nice place to stay for a few days.

A very attractive hotel in a very interesting and lively part of Bogota, convenient for the centre, the Transmillenio bus, restaurants, shops, cathedral etc. and the mountain. Friendly and helpful staff. Attractive open interior could echo noise around, and Colombia seems to be noisy throughout... We stayed 6 nights, so had full experience of the hotel & area.

I booked here based on reviews and was not disappointed. La Canderlia is a very interesting area, and a tale of two halves. Day time walk around, night time the bogey men come out. The hotel have a night guard and explained the do and donts very well. Breakfast was good, wifi fast, room clean and comfortable. One gripe is the shower. Not enough pressure, but thats a minor point.
Oh and lastly. The address has changed from calle 14 to calle 12c. This confuses all taxis drivers!

Italian Design meets Colombian Comfort
First this hotel is in a much better location than is indicated on the Hotels.com map. It is in the Candalaria, not 2 miles away near the Fruit Market. All of the Candalaria and much of the downtown center is within easy walking distance. The staff is fabulous and mostly bilingual. Great breakfasts and fruit tea and coffee all day long. The owner is from Italy but has lived in Colombia for many years. The mosaics and furnishings are top notch. The owner invited all the guests to a Halloween party he was giving for staff in a nearby colonial mansion. And he knows a thing or two about emeralds as he brokers them in Italy. You won't be disappointed in Casa Deco.
