Hotel is in a fairly quiet location away from crazy tourist crowds. It’s near Asakusa. Customer service was excellent. The minimal double room is VERY small. Like smaller than any room in NYC or others in Tokyo. If you have checked luggage, book a larger room. The comforter was very plush and comfortable but the mattress was hard. The design of the hotel is very modern and chic and it was very clean everywhere. Quality of breakfast food was quite on-par with breakfast buffets in budget hotels in the US (so basically, below-average quality).

The DDD hotel was really cool, we loved our stay. A highlight was the coffee shop on the second floor, which turns into an amazing lounge at night. The drinks and music were fantastic, and the espresso in the morning was extremely well made. The rooms were very comfortable and well designed. We would go back in a heartbeat.

DDD is such a cool hotel in a less touristy, more local part of Tokyo that was still convenient to get to many of the top tourist attractions. The highlight for us was the coffee shop / bar on the second floor, which consistently made some of the best espresso we've ever had in the morning, and then transitioned to make amazing cocktails in the evening. This is now our go-to hotel for whenever we're back in Tokyo.

Qe had a pleasanr stay at ddd hotwel. It was far enough away from the crazy streets if akihabra but was an easy train ride. We had 1 very small window thay was right up against another building so it was very dark. And as expected in tokyo, the room waa tiny but had a decent sized bathroom.

For the same price, there are better options.

Felt like a cheap efficacy hotel room in NYC but cleaner. Room is dark, Looking out at the staircase of next door’s building. No TV, and minimal amenities. Layout a bit odd, access to closet and storage is not user friendly (everything tucked in a dark narrow gap which you cannot even bend down and all interior material is black so you can’t see any thing at that dark corner/gap). The sanitizing/deodorizing spray bottle (a common item in Japan hotels) is a shared bottle placed by the elevator. Saw some guest from upper floors coming to my floor to use it. For the price they charge, there are plenty of better hotel choices in Tokyo. The only thing I enjoyed was the AC in the room. Their service and amenities is somewhat below APA hotels. But they do have a good designer style lobby and reception area. Walk to subway stop is about 8-10mins, humid hot summer day could be unpleasant. Strictly 3pm check in. I arrived 2:30 and saw the entire lobby filled with guests waiting with huge suitcases. As there is no more seats I left to find a coffee shop nearby and wait until 3 pm.

Great centre location. After crossing the river, lots of shopping places. Room and beds are clean. Bathroom is big. In the 3-person room, the bunk bed is a little hard to get in and out. Room is very small, only has a bench. Overall, it's good.

Anyone who says the room is small has never stayed in New York ! The room was an ok size for the two of us.
One criticism is there is a very very big step into the bathroom, which wasnt great if you have any mobility issues, like myself.
But overall great.

I love that it’s only two stops to Tokyo Station and the station that links me there is just a few metres away from the property . Had a wonderful time here and will definitely make this my first choice when I come by Tokyo again .

Nice location but they boast a Michelin star restaurant which is unable to be booked. There is an additional 1000 yen fee upon arrival. Breakfast buffet is very overpriced as well. Aside from what was mentioned previously, the hotel was clean and looked very nice. We enjoyed it very much. I had one minor issue with a staff member but I won’t hold one individuals prejudices against the business itself.

The hotel is very minimal but has a great vibe. You are next to the metro station exit C4 and you could use your JR pass. Nice coffee shops and a convenient store on almost every corner. My only con was the room was too small to eat your food in and if you grab food from outside you can only eat it in your room. The room we were in had three bunk beds but no tables to eat on. Apart from that the ambience of the hotel and staff were great.

An overall good value and a huge room for the price paid. Nice chic minimalist hotel. Found hair in the lavatory when we arrived and the window sills and blinds were quite dusty. Easy fixes but issues none the less. Biggest complaint, they don’t mention the breakfast a check in. You must reserve the day before. Completely ridiculous though is that they serve breakfast starting at 7am but they do NOT turn on their coffee machine until 10!!

The carpet flooring in the room was unclean.
Even after reminding the staff on the second day, the cleanliness improved but the skirting area was still left dusty.

The overall design theme is calm and nice, but most of the white paint wall area is scratched making the space looks dirty.

DDD Hotel should be proud of themselves. 5 star service and a very cool hotel for a great price. The room had everything we wanted and wasn’t too small (Especially for <10,000 yen in Tokyo). The staff was so awesome! Especially the bartender who made us really good cocktails. I didn’t get his name but he had a magnificent goatee and told me he used to live in New York. We ate breakfast which was delicious and the cafe has a unique and comfortable design. I hope to stay at this hotel again in the future.

There are plenty of restaurants a short walk over the river. he room we stayed in was a twin and was perfect as a couple but as the beds are together could be an issue for friends, bathroom is lovely. We stayed at DDD for a week and loved the design and cleanliness of the hotel. We also appreciated the courteous and multi-lingual staff. The cafe is relaxing and has excellent food and beverage options – make sure you get a coffee and tea while you’re there! I’ve seen some complaints online regarding noise, which was a surprise to me. We stayed on the 9th floor and heard very little street noise. This property is also very close to restaurants, shops, and metro stations, between a five and ten minute walk. We would love to stay here again.

Peaceful: everything you need/nothing you don't

We, a family of three (with teenager) stayed in the standard triple for 8 nights. We loved the DDD. The room isn't large, (see other pictures of the bunk beds) but we all liked it and never felt it was too small. The bathroom is very nice and the beds comfortable. The top bunk (which mom used) is a climb, so make sure one in your group is up for that. The yukata and slippers were super cozy and the fridge held more than you would expect. Staff are wonderful. We got the breakfast for the first 5 days and really liked it. It was a peaceful way to start each morning. The area is very modern and nice and the food a tasteful and plentiful selection of salad with nice toppings and AMAZING pastries, including wheat and sourdough bread, sliced meats, good butter and jam. Good coffee. Yogurt and fruit. We really liked the neighborhood for its access: close to two stations, great food near the station, easy walk across the river to the Hokusai and Edo Museums, Sumo and several parks. Do go walk to the Former Yasuda Park when you are there. Worth it for a wonderful start to your morning.

Three if us travelling to Tokyo, booked this one, a good deal!
The bunk beds are quite bunky, with only one being at ground level. The step out of the bathroom is also more than I expected ( more than once). A good option for the young at heart, avoid if you have any mobility issues.
Checkin was easy and modernist and it was quite near the station. The beds had great doonas and once we were in them comfortable. The shower is a walk-in and excellent.
Saturday morning is a bit slow, with the nearby cafes not opening until 9:00am.

During our trip we booked 3 different hotels in Japan. For the price we paid, DDD was way above our expectations. There was sufficient space to open luggage and the bathroom was quite large for the room size. The only downside is that we were facing the road and emergency vehicles passed by quite frequently. As light sleepers the sound proofing of windows was quite poor but luckily we sleep quite late so wasn't affected much by it. Would recommend this hotel.
