Lift up to hotel was very dirty, carpet stained and worn out. Reception was dark/poorly lit.

Payment taken at check in. Bed sheets were dirty. Complained to reception and asked for linen change. Receptionist apologised stating there were staff shortages and manager offered another room.

Was unable to sleep as from 5am constant noise with people shouting in corridors moving around.

No coffee or sugar in room to make a hot drink in the morning.

Bathroom ceiling very low so anyone more than 6 foot tall will find it difficult.

Outside room, in corridor and lift area bundles of bed linen piled up all over the floor and trolleys just left about by housekeeping staff.

Breakfast was terrible. Small restaurant like a fast food outlet, very noisy/crowded. Breakfast served up to 0930 only. No plates only melamine trays with partitions for food like a school canteen. Food was horrible and mostly finished despite 1 hour of service left. Coffee machine in restaurant poured only half cup of coffee into 4inch size cup. Limited selection of drinks at coffee machine.

Had a booking for 03 nights but checked out after one night. Hotel was not worth the £145 per night charge.

Would not recommend this hotel as it is old, not very clean, noisy and not situated in an area with shops/restaurants. Would not give even 2 star rating.

Convenient location to transportation stations, friendly and helpful staff, well appointed rooms, excellent breakfast buffet with coffee, juices, hot food selection changes daily ( sausage, eggs, potatoes, meatballs, pasta, chicken, rices, soup), yogurt, fruit, salads (mushrooms, cabbage, broccoli, bean salad, tomatoes, potato, dressings), cereals, milk, breads.
Staff is particularly helpful. When we missed a connecting flight, our arrival was delayed a day. I emailed them through Expedia reservation and they held our reservation.
They cleaned and changed towels daily. Complimentary bath supplies included soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, Q tips. 7-11 store located next door accepts Suica cards for payment, which is convenient for incidentals, ice cream after a long day or a light snack or drink

The staff were very kind and helpful! The daily breakfast menu changed daily during our 5 day stay there and was delicious! Worth every penny! I liked the 2 laundry areas in the hotel too! Next time I’d choose a larger room just because, but they do have a self storage luggage area on the ground level which was used alot by the guests.

Quiet and comfortable. Excellent air conditioning. Self check in and check outbwere very fast and pleasant.

Location is perfect - literally next door to a 7-11 and to an entrance to underground passage connecting all the local metro and JR stations.

Breakfast wasn't very tasty or varied, and the included coffee was quite bad. There's a very bice but expensive coffee shop 100 meters from the hotel, and no other bteakfast options in walking distance. That was the only downside.

Overall great experience. The staff were patience with my limited Japanese and knew some English. I really like that you can request umbrellas, nail clippers, toothbrushes, etc.

My only dislike was that the AC was not activated for the building yet as it was only Spring. This would be okay if I could leave the window open, but the window has no screen so bugs could easily get in.

Also the bathroom had a constant smell of sewage, as if there were some sort of leak. Our friends in the room beside us had the same complaint.

Only 5 min walk to metro and JR station. Many restaurants by the station. The breakfast is buffet type. It includes western and Japan food. Coffee is excellent. Front desk staffs are very helpful and friendly. The room is kind of small. Only Japanese channels on TV. No air conditioning around this time of the year. You can open the window or borrow a fan. They offer free umbrellas on rainy days.

The hotel is next to the entrance of JR train station and next door to a convenience store, very handy. All the staff were very friendly and polite but we found couple of days that rubbish were not all removed and one day the used cups were left on the bench uncleaned, a bit disappointed. But it is a great hotel, happy with it.

This hotel was very comfortable. The room was ample, clean and up to date. The staff were always extremely polite and friendly, even by Japanese standards. The price is reasonable. Breakfast is very nice, with some variety day to day, including both Japanese and western items. The location is quite convenient: just a 10 minute walk from Juso station, which itself is a quick 5-10 min train ride to Umeda station.

Staying in the CH Nihombashi was such a fantastic choice for Tokyo. I am planning to go back to Tokyo and will not have any second thoughts about choosing this hotel. The hotel is right above the Bakurocho Station, although it is quite a few flight of steps ( quite a feat when you have a mega luggage). HOWEVER - and not too quite obvious whereabouts is a lift - which takes you up on a nearby street. There is 7/11 also on the street level literally beside the hotel if you don't fancy going to restaurants nearby which are great. There is a super cool grocery store with lots of healthy stuff, fruits. Worth exploring the area around for all other shops eg cosmetics, and clothes and bags retailed. The staff are super helpful and really lovely. I think however that the hotel staff could do with reconnaissance trips around tokyo, to know where they are and point it out in the maps.But all in all SUPER and highly recommended.

This is a convenient hotel for the Ryogoku Kogukikan which was our primary reason for staying. Close to JR line, plenty of restaurants in close proximity, and the breakfast was quite nice. Hotel clean, room small but a standard for Japan. Overall this hotel served our purposed well.

Was greeted by the friendliest staff I have ever meet in my travels. The complimentary breakfast was excellent too! Room for two people was a bit small as I found myself bumping into the walks often. The bathroom height as a bit low for a 6'1\" person as myself but the bathroom was clean and had free hand wash and shampoo daily.

There was nothing wrong with this place, it just wasn't quite as good as any of the other comparable hotels I've stayed in in Tokyo (of which there are many). This fits in quite well with my \"adequate hotel\" schema. I wouldn't choose to stay here again but if its a convenient location for your plans, there is no compelling reason I found to avoid this place.

Optimal Usage of Place - Better than Capsules

Rooms are optimal to spend time getting ready and for sleeping at night. You can't really hang out in the room because it kind of gets claustrophobic especially if there is more than one individual in the same room. Breakfast is complimentary, but largely a spread cooked Japanese style. As long as you are okay with salads and eggs and bread cooked in Japanese style, you won't find yourself complaining before heading out in the mornings.

We stayed there in October 2014 and found it very disappointing. We had a double room which was very small and our window was blocked by a wall of the neighboring building. It was no more than 20 cm between our window and the opposing wall, actuall there was no point in having a window at all as it was dark anyways. The worst of all was that air conditioning system switched off by itself in the middle of the night every night. Imagine waking up in sweat and feeling almost suffocated in this shoe box. Terrible! The breakfast was similarly terrible - sloppy made scrambled eggs, defrosted fruits and corn flakes. This is very deceiving for this place to be called Comfort Hotel.

Easiest hotel to find

Finding this was pretty funny. We were blessed with help from a Japanese local in Bakurocho station, but once we were outside the correct exit it was seriously one door to the left. We took the wrong exit later and we could still see the hotel across the street. The breakfast service had a nice mix of foods (more of it was western, if I remember correctly). A great, convenient hotel especially for foreigners.

For a Japanese hotel it was good. The room was small, but it is Tokyo and an Asian hotel. The bed was huge and comfy. The bathroom was clean and had a large tub. The free breakfast was AWESOME! That was the only reason I booked this hotel and it was great. I walked in an hour before check-in but the staff still allowed me to check-in. The staff spoke English well and had pertinent information about Tokyo. It was not close to any attractions except for Akihabara. Since it wasn't near any major attractions the neighborhood was quiet. It was above a 7-11, which is quite convenient. The hotel also had free wi-fi!

Basic budget room with laundry and free breakfast

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel was about a 10 minute walk from a JR Sobu line, which was convenient. The surrounding area didn't lend itself to site-seeing, however there were many restaurants nearby. The hotel and room interior could use a bit more TLC when it comes to upkeep. One of our pillows was dirty and the walls were really scuffed up and part of the nightstand was broken. The onsite laundry (3 machines on 2 floors) was a huge help and the free breakfast was great. Also, there is wi-fi (we didn't use it) and free internet, faxing, printing terminals in the lobby which were nice. If you are sensitive to smoke, make sure to reserve a smoke-free room as walking through a smoking floor to the vending machine was overwhelming.

Our favourite hotel out of the four we stayed in over our Xmas break. Right next door to JR Bakurocho station exit on one side (with underground links to the Bakuroyokoyama subway station) and a 7-Eleven convenience store on the other. Clean room, well laid out and thoughtfully furnished. Room came with a buffet breakfast with good options including rice rolls, miso soup, minestrone soup, boiled egg, salad, croissants, cereal and milk, sausages, fried potatoes, etc. Free coffee from 3pm.

Stayed here for 4 nights over the new year period and was extremely pleased with the stay. The hotel is located next door to a 7 Eleven (for snacks and cash machine) and also next to an entrance to the JR Bakurocho station (two stops to Tokyo central station) so the location was ideal!
The staff were very helpful when asking about places to visit etc and gave print outs too which was very useful or alternatively there are some computers to access the internet just by them.
The room was clean and comfortable with all the usual bits you need like a kettle etc.
Breakfast is a mix of western and Japanese in a self-serve cafeteria setup which was ok but not the best breakfast I'd eaten in Tokyo.
Would definitely stay again if I visit Tokyo due to its ease of access and location to other areas of the city .

Adequate and cheap

The hotel is probably one of the cheapest in Tokoyo. This price reflects what you should expect. The hotel appears to be set up to cater busy business travellers rather than a comfortable experience for the holiday visitor. Nevertheless, if you have a lot of activities planned during your visit and do not intend to stay in the room much, the Comfort Hotel is great value for money as it provides free wireless Internet and breakfast.

This is a very convenient hotel for Tokyo, only 2 stations before Tokyo Central on JP railway, from Narita AP to Bakurocho Station, then head for the East Exit No 4, the hotel is located at the top of the stairs, next door to the left. Only problem iscarrying luggage up the stairs, there is no escalator or lift from the tunnel to the street level. The rooms are on the small size, as is usual in Japan, but well equipped. The breakfast and the internet connection is very good, not very much English spoken, but other than that everything is A/OK
