We stayed here for two nights. Boy, was the room outdated and wallpaper is pealing. Iron is leaking. Body wash bottle was completely empty. Hairdryer - barely worked. We checked in 4 people and there were only two towels. We had do go to the lobby twice to request towels. During our stay that only had buffet style breakfast and dinner - which was way overpriced. We are not big eaters and were hopping for small breakfast. Our room was ocean view (which we paid extra for), it was not good - ocean with a side of really outdated roof from restaurant bellow. Parking was extremely hard to find. We had a disabled parking permit and there were just a few spots. We had to park on the parking spot near the little shop, even that, it was playing musical chairs waiting for car to pull out so we can get one. I specifically picked this hotel for higher $$$ hoping our stay would’ve more enjoyable. Unfortunately just a two things were good - location and decent mattresses. :(

Wonderful hotel! Welcoming, friendly, clean, good bed, wonderful view! The extra money for the ocean view with the view of Mauna Kea over the harbor is totally worth it. We enjoyed sitting on our lanai & watching the fishermen down below, & the sailboats & canoes, & even the freighters. Enjoy!

I would not recommend this hotel, unless there were no other decent choices. The front desk wasn't friendly or particular helpful both days we were there. Room was not great, none of us slept, roach on nightstand next to me. The reason I didn't give it lower was because of the bar restaurant. We were tired and hungry when we got in so went for the casual food in the bar area. Server was terrific, food was very good and live band playing was honestly incredible. This was the only good thing about our hotel experience.

Our only complaint was that we wanted to extend our stay by another night and the front desk could not do it without waiting for the reservation staff to arrive which wasn't to happen until 10am. Essentially we had to pack up, check out and be checked back in later. Needless to say we did not stay.

The bed was uncomfortable, there was a big rip in the curtain, and the wallpaper was coming off of the walls. The room was only cleaned every other day.There was a concert across the street and parking was not reserved for hotel guests. We drove around and around, trying to find a place to park on the street because there was no parking at the hotel. however, the room was clean, and staff was friendly.

We stayed 2 nights, the first room had a lot of ants so we asked them to switch the room. The other room had also ants, the third room was okay so we decided to move the room. It was 2nd floor which is no elevator. They said no other room we can use elevator but I don’t think so. Definitely not busy time.
The room is ocean front but it is partially ocean front view because of the big tree. I recommend to request upper floor.
I don’t think this is not a perfect location to stay in Hilo unfortunately.

Service was poor. Ac door was vibrating when you set fan at high speed and vents were blocked with dirt. We changed 3 rooms 650/210/810 and all room had issue. Not worth money they charged for the trip. We even couldnt sleep 4 nights we stayed there.

We stayed for 4 days in 3 rooms. First suite 650 Microwave was not working. Second room 210 had Mould and AC was leaking water. Carpets were wet. Iron was not working and leaking. There were ants all around the bathroom areas. Toileteries were missing and not filled up. Room 810 AC door has vibration on setting Fan at high speed. That room has coakroaches. At any time rooms were not back filled or towels replaced or beds made. Garbage was also not collected on daily basis. We couldnt sleep properly because of all these issues. Not worth. Done with Wyndham.

The clerk checking us in was rude, but if that was the only issue I wouldn’t be leaving such a review. The mattress smelled like urine, the Wi-Fi never worked, and after we switched rooms, the Wi-Fi continued to remain inaccessible. Called the front desk, they said IT would come by, they never did.

Balcony chair webbing was ripped open. There were tears in the drapery lining, Fridge and ice bin were in the bathroom > unpleasant double duty for bath vanity. NO MICROWAVE! The toilet/bathtub room was as dimly lit as a 15 watt lightbulb. The bathroom exhaust system wasn't working leaving the room soaked with moisture. The towel rack above the toilet had large areas of rusty bare metal. The grunge factor was everywhere. Upgrades have been done with new paint and tile but done on the cheap with unskilled labor. Tile corners were rough. Overpaint on doorknobs and towel hooks. Ceiling light by balcony door looks like it has been there since the 1970s. The very small desk area was directly under the TV. Power outlet on the desk lamp was so worn out a power cord would not stay in contact. The next closest power outlet was 8 feet away under the small table, or, it was in the mishmash of cords behind the desk that served the cable boxes. Wi-Fi was inconsistent and kept disconnecting. And after a power failure it never came back before we left. Why wasn't the hotel's system better surge protected? The noisy bar had an entertainer that thought distorted volume made up for lack of talent. The bar's Mai Tai was the worst EVER. I bottled cocktail would have been better. It tasted like canned orange juice. I ordered two Mai Tais and a French dip sandwich to go. Mai Tais were made right away. The drink ice had melted before the sandwich was served... with no dip sauce or napkins.

Reasonable price for quality. 45 minutes to Volcano NP, so excellent location for an early start before the crowds arrive from Kona! Completely INADEQUATE PARKING for the size of hotel. One night all four small lots were full because of a wedding on site and the only legal street parking was a LONG way away with a dark walk through a worrisome neighborhood. Staff could not solve the problem and were not particularly apologetic about an obvious issue. Housekeeping staff was bare bones, but reception advised us of this issue, so no surprises and easy workarounds.

The Ocean view room, had a ocean view. The staff was courteous but for the price paid, I felt the room was quite dated. No microwave in the room, if you want to heat up some food ( The town was almost dead at 7pm, with few dining options). No phone USB chargers as well. The hotel is dated, but our room was clean, and the lobby was spectacular. Cleaning staff, servers, and bartenders were all very friendly, consistently providing good service. Front desk staff and the restaurant hostess stand was less than friendly, and often unwelcoming. Wi-Fi was absolutely terrible, and needs to be upgraded. Great location, and a room with a balcony and view of the ocean was what we were looking for.

The towel bar was hanging at a 45 degree angle and had obviously been pulled out of the wall well before our stay and just pushed back into the wall but not properly repaired. Disappointed that the only filtered water fill station was outside the front door of the hotel. The lounge had great food and excellent service.

We were given rooms on floor 3 and 6 and when we requested same floor, the desk staff hastily replied no rooms available which we later found out to be false. The hotel was occupied at 60% occupancy! What a bummer! I stayed in Hilo, hoping to be off the beaten track from other more well visited spots on the island. This hotel easily seemed to be the highest ranked in the area. I instantly regretted my decision. There's no way my stay was worth its value. My first room had a ton of bugs visible on the ceiling, near our bed, and in our sink. It clearly had plenty of deferred maintenance. Service was just fine and friendly, and they changed our room without any dispute m. However, in our second room, the bed was extremely uncomfortable and very worn as if the options in the bed were to sleep in a pit or in the center on a hump. A couch could be more comfortable than this. Holes in the curtains, lots of swelling in the wallpaper throughout indicating moisture, the outside chairs were very damaged and I was a little worried about even sitting on them. Also, the non stop music from fishing on the nearby public bridge hardly made for a peaceful ocean front viewing experience. I'll stop there. You get the picture. Fair to say that the management team should invest some of what is very a healthy room rate into the rooms. Check for recent reviews in hopes of improvements or stay elsewhere. But hopefully it turns around.

Location is good and convenient, but the facilities are quite old. The sink drainage was not smooth, and the lighting in the room was dim and yellow, WiFi didn't work. I’m very sensitive to lighting and felt uncomfortable staying in such a dark room, so I moved to the Hilton next door instead.

The young man that checked me in gave us a worst room on the third floor without a balcony looking out on the dirty roof; I prepaid for the room with an ocean view; the pictures showed a balcony. When I came back asking, about discrepancy he told me that I have to pay an extra $30 to be upgraded. The hotel was half empty and there are only a few rooms that do not have a balcony. Very unhappy with check in. The breakfast was bad, eggs benedict came with salad dressing instead hollandaise, ham was very salty - never had such bad breakfast. The beds were comfortable and the view is beautiful, but overall experience was not good. Such a shame!

There are more than a dozen hairs on the sheets of both beds, and there are also many hairs on the duvet covers. It is very obvious that the room was not properly cleaned — the sheets and duvet covers were not changed and were simply re-made.
This is extremely unhygienic and unacceptable. I contacted the front desk, and the staff said they would report it to the manager, but the housekeeping staff has already left for the day.
I requested a room change, but the front desk told me the hotel was fully booked. They only provided two bed sheets and did nothing else to address the issue.
This does not resolve the problem. The room was not properly cleaned or sanitized, and being asked to change the sheets myself is not acceptable for a hotel of this standard.
I am very disappointed with this level of service and expect proper housekeeping service, full linen replacement for all bedding, and appropriate compensation for this unacceptable experience.

The hotel has a very good location and a good view if you get a balcony room, but the rest are disappointing. They claim they do housekeeping every 2 days, which I am fine with. But in reality, no housekeeping was done in 2 days. When I asked them to do it, the front desk was rude, said he will call the service team, and \"what else do you want?!\" The service team member came and gave us two sets of towels, and that's it. No removal of trash and used towels. No restocking of shampoo, toilet paper. I had to ask again on the 3rd day for the housekeeping to take place. The room has a faint smell of smoke even though this is a smoke-free hotel. On Christmas Eve, the power went out. Granted it was not the hotel's fault, but the way they panicked without a plan was annoying on top of the power outage. The food at the restaurant was OK. The food at the lounge was salty and service was very slow. The pool looked old, so we didn't even try. Would not recommend.

The front desk staff were not considerate of customers. When there was no parking available, they did not offer any help or solution. The ice machine was also out of order, and no one seemed to care or explain what to do. In addition, the room felt very old. Some outlets did not work well, and there were no USB or Type-C charging outlets, which is very inconvenient nowadays. Overall, the service and facilities were disappointing, and I did not feel welcomed as a guest.

It wasn’t terrible but it was unacceptable for the amount of money I spent for only one night. Spent about $275 on hotels app. Not only it was a bit expensive but we didn’t have a microwave in our unit when the app said microwaves. We had leftover party food but never had a microwave so that was unfortunate. Shower’s didn’t have any ventilation for heat to pass through, the bed sheets and pillow casings weren’t washed good. Could smell whoever was on it before and it was very uncomfortable to smell, and also THERE WAS ROACHES ON THE COUNTERTOP NEAR THE BEDS, UNDERNEATH THE TV, AND ALL OVER THE BATHROOM!!!. I literally had to kill it with my bare hands. This was very uncomfortable and unpleasant. I tried to talk to the front desk about it at check out time and they just said “we’ll let maintenance know thank you” like are you for real!?? No compensation, no sorry thoughtful. Made it sound like it’s a common thing but it was very disgusting. AC wasn’t blowing hard enough so the room got hot when it was morning. All in all very uncomfortable stay will not return to that hotel ever again.

Everyone there was so nice - we had our choice of rooms, and took one with a view of Coconut Island! The banyans around this area are immense, and there’s also a lovely walk through the Liliuokalani Gardens right across the street.
