Room was clean, not the cleanest ever; but clean. The maid did come and take out the trash and gave fresh towel even though I didn’t ask for service. Laundry facility is expensive compared to other hotels; I stayed at ones that were free. The novelty of the animated dinosaur is fine, and there is staff on hand, however they don’t offer a luggage service. They give you a flyer to tell you a recommendation of a luggage shipping service. I like the hotels I can just leave with them and the service comes to pick it up. Now, it does save you a few hundred yen by taking to the place, which in this case is 1 block away at the train station. The service told me two days, but neglected to tell me there is a 4pm, cut off time. I took my bags at 4:45. I haven’t made it to my next hotel yet, let’s hope it’s 2 days and not the 3 they said since I left it after 4pm. The luggage service actually laughed, which is very un-Japanese. At that point I had no choices, but to send the luggage. I know this isn’t directly associated with the hotel, yet if they did offer the service it wouldn’t have been an issue. Location is great, but the lack of the delivery service will make me think twice about stay at a Henn na hotel again, and the 800y laundry, where my clothes weren’t even dry and I had to hang them in my room and didn’t dry for over a day.

This hotel is very close to Kyoto station and a short walk, so it is very convenient. we were impressed with their luggage storage area which was available to any guests checking in or out, free of charge. The room is decently sized, and if you get a room with a foot massager, you won’t regret it!! There is a mall nearby with good food in B1, and conveniently there are some shops with some luggage for sale if you need to purchase another bag!! I loved that the station was close. It made for convenient travel to other areas in Kyoto; however, it’s quite walkable too. Kyoto tower is close and a great sight seeing adventure!

This hotel is located right next to the train station so if lugging luggage it's super easy and easy to get around. The beds are not very comfy and it's a smallish room but cmon dinosz ya know? Would I stay again no was I happy I did it once absolutely. The front desk help was super attentive and the restaurant in the lobby is great. Locker storage if needed bus stop and 711 both very close.

The location is awesome. Two blocks away from the Kyoto station. Good storage ports for lock up your luggages before you check in and after you check out. Provide umbrellas for guest to use is very thoughtful. I will definitely recommend.

Putting dinazor puppets at front desk is pretty childish. Rooms are extremely small. I ordered 18 m^2 and it seems to me like 18 is together with toilet and bathroom. The food is awful. Eating place was at hotel's bar on very high cheers. The only plus here is that it was in very central location. In addition, despite it was right Infront of Kyoto station I didn't hear any trains with closed windows at my room.
By the way, I visited also henn na Osaka and it was the same. Besides of good location everything else was bad.

The location is very good for those need to take Shinkansen/ JR train. There is only 2 coin laundry machines available in hotel, we stayed 3 nights but couldn’t get chance to use it because the queue line was so long everyday.

Very convenient location near Kyoto station and a 7-11, two places I visited frequently during my stay. Check in was super easy with the touch screen and adorable dinosaurs. My room was on the 9th floor. It was very clean and quiet. My only complaint was the hotel says they have laundry facilities (which is part of why I booked it) but it’s only two machines. The first two days I was unable to do laundry since both machines were in use every time I checked. The machines also don’t do a very good job of drying clothes and I still had to hang them in my room to completely dry. Other than that I enjoyed my stay. The price and location make it a great choice if you’re staying in Kyoto.

Good location, across from train station and major mall. Plenty of food and shopping options in the mall. Centrally located for several local attractions via public bus. This is a very busy city with a active nightlife. Many mall facilities are open till 11 pm. Room is very comfortable and spacious and breakfast was limited but plenty in very small \"restaurant\". Be prepared for a very usual front desk experience.

I do not like the front desk being attended only by 2 robots. Communication is very difficult without a human being to attend to.

We stayed in a twin room. The hotel only provides 2 packets of green tea daily but no coffee.

Directions given from the internet as to how to get to the hotel from the Kyoto Station is quite confusing so we tried to use the google directions. But it was worse. Clear signs should be stated at the train station.

Stayed for 3 nights with breakfast. Breakfast was at the adjacent bar. Chairs and tables were bar-style with very little space to walk around. Buffet-style but the quantity of food laid out was very controlled.
Single (phiten) room was quite compact but cosy and wouldn’t be a problem for small people.
Location is convenient with many shopping options within walking distance.
The dinosaur at check-in is cute but the name used to book the rooms must match the name on passport exactly or else you’ll still need help for a hotel employee.

It is SO conveniently located less than 3 minutes away from Kyoto Station (and the JR/Shinkansen lines) and the room we reserved (Hollywood twin) was the perfect size for us with a great view of the trains leaving the station. Of course, you can’t miss with the novelty of velociraptor receptionists!

Checking in by using Robots was not impressive, staff came out and helped us. We reserved 2 twin size beds, small room with small bath/shower, separate toilet, no complement water bottles (other hotels gave 2 bottles of water). Room was cleaned but not that new. Closed to the Train & Bus station with in 7-10 min walking. The hotel provides the luggage’s lock in the lobby, so you can leave your luggage’s for a short period.

I hope to stay in the Henn na Hotel again. A taxi driver broke my foot, and the staff pulled out all stops for me. I cannot imagine a large five-star hotel being more helpful, kind, and accommodating than they were. Before the broken foot, I just loved living right across the Kyoto Train Station, with its many restaurants and amenities. I could easily take the subway and many buses directly from the train station. I had planned to take the bullet train to Tokyo, which would have just meant rolling my luggage across the street and into the station. My room was of a good size. Once I was in a wheelchair, they moved me into an accessible room, which was just perfect for me. I loved having coin-operated washing/drying machines right in the hotel. And it's reasonably priced on top of all that!

The hotel itself is very nice, great location and clean. We included the breakfast with our room. It was a surprise that it was a Japanese style breakfast, which they had pre ordered for the first day, without asking for any dietary requirements. We were travelling with our kids and they ordered eel and a strong seafood flavoured fish. It was essentially unusable. There was also no where to eat the breakfast apart from your room, which typically in Japan is very small, and with group of 4, not possible. I’d recommend to not book the breakfast with your stay.

Not too weird, comfortable and basic.

This hotel isn’t so weird. If you are expecting it to live up to that you may be disappointed. After the front desk dinosaurs and koi fish lights, the rooms and amenities are pretty basic. However there’s a long explanation in Japanese of how space age materials were used for the room to maximize comfort. It was minimal but super nice, I slept in for the first time in ages. Welcome drink was also nice.
