We had a wonderful stay! The room was very clean and well maintained, which made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. Make sure you’re okay with potentially having bugs/insects in your room. We decided to leave the first night because the room was filled with highway of ants when we arrived. Cleanliness was also subpar, our bathroom had not been properly cleaned.

This hotel is a boutique hotel situated in a residential type area in the old city of Chiang Mai. It’s as if they took a home and then redid the whole thing. The room I was in was a little small, but it did have a loft and it’s OK. You know it was clean efficient. I think this hotel caters more to Young backpackers that’s not to say it wasn’t nice. It was just not a four star hotel. To be fair, I was in a jam at my other hotel where I couldn’t extend my stay so at the last minute I found this place and it was it was fine. I’m 64 now but I would’ve loved this place if I was 20 to 40 years old.

Pastell is a perfect hotel if you are staying in Chiang Mai for a few days. It is out of the main busy areas so it is more quiet, if that is important to you as it was for us. The coffee and breakfast are complimentary and excellent quality. The staff is kind and accommodating.

I booked the pool access deluxe room hoping for a peaceful stay with occasional pool dips. But kids are constantly in the pool and extremely loud. You hear everything from your room and I hoped the staff would at least ask the other guests to be considerate of others as they were very disruptive and ruined my stay. So I would say the pool room isn’t worth it but my stay was nice, clean and safe, overall.

Absolutely one of my favorite stays in Thailand - such cute, quaint little rooms with lots of nice amenities and a beautiful little pool oasis. They had delicious cooked to order breakfasts with a few different options, and European coffees included in the room rate which were awesome and very tasty!

The hotel is centrally located and very walkable and accessible for pick up of day tours. A special thank you to Puax and Mali at the front desk for their help, and friendliness during my 4 day stay, and mostly helping me with booking a local taxi to Chiang Mai (3 hour drive) during Songkran when Grab drivers declined due to it being too far of a distance! This little boutique hotel was a perfect stay for a trip with my husband. It is smaller than a bigger brand hotel in Old Town, but it packs a lot of function in its small package. The rooms are spacious than what I had expected from the pictures, and they have all the amenities you would need including a smart TV, air filter, and AC. I also really appreciated the cafe downstairs and the daily breakfast. Just like the hotel, it is unassumingly delicious. Only incident I has was that we had a bedsheet that was iffy and stained but the staff reacted quickly and changed it right away. The hotel facilities are basically just the pool and the cafe, and I think you can book private massages with them though I never tried. So if you just want a practical and comfortable option while exploring Chiang Mai, this is a fantastic choice.

Checkin was perfect, staff was very courteous and answered all our questions.
The room was lovely and clean. During our stay, the staff tidied up our room and replaced our towels even though we didn’t need them to. The included breakfast choices were all delicious and plentiful. Their barista made great coffee drinks. The front desk were helpful in giving advice on taxis services available.

We loved this place!

We loved this place! Felt like home. Very friendly, capable, and competent staff. We stayed a week and had a lovely room that opened onto the beautiful pool area. Breakfast was tasty, although limited choices. Good food. Such a great location in the old city. Clean and beautiful!

Great location, walkable to major temples, laundry service next door, several nice restaurants and massage places and 7 eleven 5 minutes walk, easy to get transportation, walking streets and night markets 10 minutes walk, very safe area, quiet, comfortable room, comfortable bed, very helpful and friendly staff. Nice breakfast. No bathroom problems. Room small with not enough furniture to store personal belongings. Small swimming pool, did not use it. Overall very nice hotel. Will stay again.

Great location and friendly, helpful staff. We selected this hotel on Expedia because they listed themselves as welcoming service animals, and they were true to their word. My wife is blind and uses a guide dog for mobility. Despite a disability-accessibility law, most hotels, restaurants and stores in Thailand do not comply with the law. We've also had hotels reject us for having a trained guide dog, even after advertising themselves as accepting them. Pastell Old Town quickly confirmed that we were welcome. Many thanks to the staff at Pastell for a great visit to Chiang Mai.

We stayed 3 nights at Pastell Old Town. It was an excellent hotel to stay at in Chiang Mai. The staff were exceptional. The hotel is unbelievably quiet for a hotel in the city.

The breakfast was great. Tge area has some great options for dining. It is also an easy walk to some of the must see sights

Very clean small hotel in the center of old town, so walking distance from all main attractions. Small pool for dipping not big enough to sit round and relax really but lush. Breakfast tasty but can get extremely busy at certain times as they are also a café.

Window wasn’t completely sealed so mosquitoes could get in at night - was a nice stay and spacious! Bathroom shower is right by the bed so you can sort of see when someone is showering. Breakfast provided was great as it is served by the restaurant and there are options. Convenient location close to tourist booths (for day trips) and walkable to the night markets. A bit quiet at night as it’s tucked away in an alleyway but felt pretty safe

Cute hotel at a convenient location

This is a cute boutique hotel. Friendly staffs and easy communications. Ours was a loft room. We were happy with the stay and building location. We were in walking distance to night markets and massages. Our room happened to be very closed to houses that raised chicken so that was an annoyance. Overall very happy with the stay. Breakfast was a nice setting. Would definitely come back next time in the area.

Fantastic property all around. Great walking distance from everything, clean, nice staff and there is parking that they don’t highlight.
Semi con- the WiFi is not great. So if you need to stream for work, you may need another option.
Super pro- there’s a restaurant next door (to the right if you are looking at the hotel). It’s a hole in the wall, maybe somebody’s house. It’s a must. The food was soooo good.

Our stay at the pastell was very nice! The pool was nice and cool with a waterfall. The breakfast buffet and egg sandwiches available in the lobby were cooked to order and tasted amazing, the staff was also all very friendly and took great care of us and the cleaning of the rooms. The amenities available and the room were very nice and comfortable, the bathroom and shower was very unique. Also great location for being central for a lot of great experiences around the area like the bizzar

This was a wonderful property! Very clean. Great location and yet it was very quiet and peaceful. It was easy to walk or Grab to everything we did. The bed was super comfortable! AC was great. The staff was very sweet and helpful. The breakfast was okay for me since I’m gluten free but my husband, who is not gluten free, said it was delicious! Laundry services were great and timely. Our only dislike was the massages - were more expensive than places outside of the hotel and not as good.
