Worst experience i had with an hotel. Had left a watch in the hotel room after i checked out. It was quite an expensive watch and I Called them to request to find the watch but they said they couldnt find it. I am very sure i had left it beside the bedside table. However, they just simply said they are not able to find it and no investigation done. It was highly likely taken by the housekeeping staff since no one else had been to the room. They simply told me to report to police if I think it was stolen. This is an integrity issue from the hotel staff. Very terrible service from accor group of hotel. Had always stayed with accor group but this is the first time to encounter such incident. Had also tried to email them but did not get an answer. Hope they will revert to me and get an satisfactory answer.

The hotel is a bit dated and location wise not as convenient as others which have connecting malls, with the same price range. Can see torn wall papers and scratched bed frame. The round sofa was far from comfortable.

It was my first time back in Beijing after more than two decades, and Sofitel made it extremely comfortable. A free room upgrade to a higher floor, great room (with Lanvin amenities), friendly staff and very well stocked gym with techno gym equipment, I was set for a great stay. However a couple of things to note, 1. while it is within walking distance from the metro station, there wasn't much in the area. 2. Google maps doesn't work in China, so finding the hotel using Google maps can be slightly tricky because the hotel's signage is quite low key. 3. From a safety perspective, I left weights that didn't have a proper storage spot on the floor. However, a gym staff who came by to tidy up the gym moved it to any open spot on the rack, and told me to stack it. While I followed the ask, I wouldn't recommend it as it has a higher risk of falling and landing on someone's feet. Also, having weights randomly placed on the rack makes it look really messy.

Great place with great staff in the hotel

We were originally thought the hotel was not at part with the Sofitel brand, it was kinda small in scale and lobby facilities, however the staff and the manager of the front desk Mr. Li was very helpful to make our stay as smooth as possible, they even upgraded our room to make it at home. It was once a W hotel.

We stayed in Sofitel Beijing Grand for 7 nights. The hotel was not near any metro station but thankfully, Didi ride-hailing (the equivalent of Uber and Grab) is very affordable in Beijing. The front office staff and concierge were not friendly and could be rude at times when you asked them for more information about the hotel and help in booking Didi rides. Most of them could only speak a little English. The hotel is poorly maintained with quite a few torn cushions in the dining room. The breakfast buffet spread had little Western variety and the pastries were hard and stale. The centrally controlled aircon wasn't cool enough and there wasn't any temperature control in the room. However, the saving grace came from the housekeeper, 岳海英 (under the supervisor 冯军) who did a fantastic job in keeping the room clean and ensuring an adequate supply of bottled water and toiletries. If it weren't for the housekeeping, I would have rated the hotel as terrible.

Overall was a nice Hotel. Very quiet as guests start to come back to China. Room was over hot and no local control so after a couple nights bad sleep and feeling sick, got maintenance to open the windows. Made it just bearable. Buffet dinner and breakfast good, but dinner only on weekends and the Chinese restaurant was pretty upper class. That left in room dining, so when I finally located a menu the food was good, if not way too much. Massage downstairs was good and the gym and pool exceptional. Could easily get 2km in each day given a nice 25m length.

家人推荐一定要入住北京索菲特大酒店，来北京旅游，所以选择入住北京索菲特大酒店，酒店大堂很华丽，前台人员办理入住也很及时，态度也很好，房间舒适，设计感十足，早餐在B1层，每天都有不同种类的菜品，食材新鲜，服务也很好，Candy 对我们一家真的很好，我们入住四天，帮我们安排自助餐，从颐和园滑冰回来，饱餐一顿，价格合理，小火锅暖暖的，这次家人旅行，真的很开心，下次再来北京，还会入住.

Location-wise, it is centrally located but do not get there by subway if you have large luggage as you have to go up 6 flights of stairs to get to the surface.

The property is ok but some stains and damages on the back of the door/wall. The lighting is kind of dark and difficult to see even you do not have any visual impair. Good to have free mini-bar. Breakfast is pretty good, large selection.

Conveniently located, English speaking staff, decent food, comfortable rooms - no complaints! Have stayed here a few times since it’s opened, my new go to hotel when I need to be near the geographic center of the city. decor a bit funky for the business traveler but i like it as it changes things up especially if you’ve been on the road for a while.

Never book this hotel again! Disappointment!

Worst experience and bad customer service. Was book this fancy hotel for my Beijing trip but end up four stars hotel is better than them. First, we’ve booked it with some special request as it’s for me birthday. I checked in during my birthday date, the staff never wish me, maybe have some surprises in my room. End up, no surprise at all and what the purpose I book this hotel. Four stars hotel given a fruits plater, it’s better than them? Yes, obviously. I’m not kind of people like to ask free give, but suprises does make guests feels better. Secondly, I booked my stay for two nights in different booking, and I’ve checked with front desk that my card access can use until I check out. He says Yes. On the second day when I back to hotel, my room key is not working for the lift and room, so I have to go down and queue about 15mins to wait for my turn. I’m not sure why this is happen especially I have asked during my check in whether I need to go over front desk to update my card. Disappointment! For other traveller, if you booking this for special occasion, I recommend you to call them to confirm they have received your special request otherwise pls book others hotels which they can do better than them. Lastly, not worth for my trip, superb disappointment for the fancy hotel.

Good option

Good for business travel. They have a nice fitness center and the restaurant has a variety of options, including western food. The location is close to center of city with Forbidden City and Tianemen square a few miles down the road.

Cannot ask for more. Breakfast is unexpectedly good. Pool is good and big enough. Service is very very good. One attendant called Jacky patiently helped me call cars so that even when I cannot do didi he has cars arranged for me for every trip.

I have stayed with my family for 2 nights.
Hotel service was great and so is the room and service. We ate only at the hotels restaurant and
On the next day my wife got food poisoning.
For 3 days she was in a very bad condition.
My advice is not try the restaurant .
The food is handled poorly.

Great facilities and staff. Club lounge not comparable to other W's or other chain hotels, but an overall pleasant experience. Not a great location for outside dining or entertainment options and taxi services for return trips to the hotel are not easily found in Beijing.

Nice Stay at the W

Interesting stay at the W. Seemingly it was a different hotel before and has been redone as the W (hence why taxi drivers dont seem to know it). You can definitely tell that it is a bit dated and old. Additionally, the vibe is like a club (even more so than most W hotels)

Very cool W hotel in Beijing

First time stay in W Beijing and for two nights, very nice hotel and everywhere you see the design and lighting are very fashion. Once I got into the room, wooooo, very nicely design and big round bathtub in the room. Is design for couple bath, sadly I travel alone so abit wasted. Looking out the window can see some Beijing city view and the room is quite at night. There are different back light in the room which change colour which for me is abit feel I am in a disco. The lounge bar is very cool and worth to visit as some pretty waitress there, staff is very helpful and have a pretty DJ too. The roof top bar X25, I did not went but heard is pretty nice at night which you can overlook some city view.

Excellent hardware - poor software

Hotel is new & funky, reasonable price.
Some of the stuff are exceptionally good, but some of the staff are not well trained. It took me 2 hours waiting for check-in + the room wasn't well cleaned - biscuit pieces all over the places. it took them 4 days to recognise my SPG membership # - internal communication is just a mess.

W hotel fan

Not even a year old, every thing feels new. SPG has its credit on the furnishing consistency and I love their bed. But given that this is the 6th W hotel, I stayed. It ain't the best. Pool size is of the worst, less mention pool party maybe obscure here.

Great accommodations, but nothing is included

We stayed here while on a business trip. The rooms, gym, pool and other accommodations were excellent, but nothing was included with the cost of the room. Not breakfast, not anything in the room. The staff was as helpful as they could be (many did not speak English), but there were definitely challenges with the language barrier.

The hotel is nice and the staff are kind, always trying to help, but communication can be difficult since very few of them speak english. Compared to Shanghai, it was noticeable that much less english is spoken in the city.

Location is not the most convenien: going to the Forbidden City or joining a Great Wall tour always required taking a taxi.

One thing to note is that the hotel feels a bit less organized than others I’ve stayed in. For example, during our stay the city went into a sort of lockdown due to rehearsals for the Chinese military parade, but the hotel gave no prior notice and reception did not provide clear answers. We even had a guard on our very floor and none one told us.

Overall, friendly service but with room for improvement in organization and communication.
