My stay at this hotel was absolutely fantastic. The room and the hotel itself were great. The staff here was amazingly incredible helpful and friendly. I was staying during my birthday and the staff actually came up to my room to deliver me a birthday cake and wish me happy birthday, which was fantastic. The hotel also had a buffet which had excellent food, and was open throughout the day. I loved my stay here at this hotel. I plan on returning in the future.

Absolutely loved it here. The room was very spacious. By far this was the most spacious quad room I have stayed in. The hotel deco is a little dated. But that u was expecting for tithe price. It has everything in the hotel.
Very conveniently located near a Halal restaurant about 2/3 minutes walk from the hotel. Overall I have no complaints and it had everything in the room… including an uiand torch if you need it!!

The only thing I didn’t like was the pool attendant. He was a bit bossy and overbearing about the rules of the pool. He made for a tense experience. Otherwise it’s a great hotel. Very modern. They could also suspend with all the security guards around. Men in black suits. Makes you feel like you are being stalked. The restaurant was very good.

Surrounding hotel are full of interesting restaurants and local eateries.

The hotel is relative old, but very good for its price. The staffs are generally nice, but not very helpful sometimes. The buffet place is not good at all. Not recommended. However, the hotel has many shops, spas, dry cleaning, fitness centers and pool and even grocery store, so very convenient.

If you will stay Lido hotel then you should choose an including breakfast. It is good!
Especially, Chinese breakfast foods are good.
油条! Good!
And you can use hotel's swimming pool & gym( including spa, not big. )

Worst hotel stay by far. First off, the staff had no way to interact with any guest that spoke English, which made it hard to ask any questions or even during check in/out. In the room, the refrigerator was locked and if you wanted to use it, then you'd have to pay a surcharge. When you place the environmental friendly sign on your bed or hang your towels where they ask you to so that it can be reused and save water, they still change it. When i was booking this hotel, one reason I chose it is because it said it had a pool (both indoor and outdoor). Their advertising is wrong. They only had an indoor pool which was not available to use due to under repair issues. Only the last day we were there, did the pool become available but in order to use it, you have to have a swim cap so that was another thing they charge you for. I probably would not stay at this hotel again!!!

Decent older hotel

We stayed at the height of Chinese New Year, so hotel was operating on a skeleton crew. All staff were kind and professional. Room didn't get cleaned some days until after 6pm, and there seems to be a hotel culture of staff entering the room several times a day for various minor tasks. Even so, ot was a pleasant, quiet room, in a clean, quiett hotel.

We were given an unexpected upgrade, to the \"Executive\" floor. The room was maybe a little larger, but since I never saw the standard room we booked, I don't know.

Room smelled of cigarettes, even though the whole hotel is supposedly non-smoking. This dissapated after the first day's stay, so must have been the previous guest? I'd been warned that all Chinese hotel rooms will reek of stale cigarette smoke, so maybe this is not really about this hotel as much as it is about the culture.

Hallway was very hot, room was very warm, we kept the heat off and the window open about a foot even though night-time temps were well below freezing. Staff routinely shut the window anytime they came into the room in our absence.

The hotel was a 10 minute walk from the #14 Subway line, and well connected to the city bus system. There is a nice park nearby that we enjoyed walking to, and relaxing in.

I'd happily stay at the Metropark Lido again.

This place is a Beijing institution. It doesn't seem to have changed in 20 years, but was certainly built to last. It may be a little worn, but has character, and it offered a very reasonable rate. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The service was 5*. Room was comfortable with a proper King Size bed. Breakfast buffet was good. Nice pool with jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Well equipped gym (although both the stationary bikes need to be replaced). Good variety of restaurants in easy walking distance. Will definitely stay here again.

This former Holiday Inn was once a 5 star hotel in Beijing. It is starting to show its age, but looked like they were starting room renovations at the end of 2016. Lots of areas to walk around the Hotel with street shops and restraunts.

Mediocre hotel in a area very far from main tourist attractions. Stayed here because I was attending a conference and this was the conference hotel. I should have moved after my work as the room was overpriced and it was necessary to take taxis to get everywhere. Breakfast was offered at the astronomical price of about CAD $25 (for China, this is insane!). Wifi was TERRIBLE. Many evenings after work I could not even connect to the internet. Surrounding stores catering to a very western audience with shocking prices for clothes (CAD $1000 jacket is the norm, for example).
I found the staff at the front desk to be curt and bordering on rude.
One positive was the bed was very comfortable in an otherwise old and worn space.
I do not recommend this hotel, especially given the price. You could get much, much better in China at a more affordable rate in in a far superior location.

Good value hotel

You won't find this level of amenities at a better price. that said, they are a little worn but that seems pretty standard at hotels in China. The no smoking rule is violated routinely, but a little airing out seems to help the smell in the rooms. The Internet is very spotty in the rooms but pretty good in the lobby.

Lots of connected restaurants and stores in the complex make this a very convenient location. The subway is about a 10 min walk and there are plenty of other restaurants within walking distance.

It's an older hotel located in shopping complex.

Metropark Lido is an older hotel and is barely a 4-star hotel. Although the room needed a refreshing, it was fairly spacious for Beijing, comfortable and clean.

The hotel is part of a small shopping and office complex. Located in the complex was Starbucks and a few restaurants, including a decent deli. The breakfast buffet was fine. Buy your ticket for the buffet at the front desk to save money.

A Bank of China branch also sits in the complex.

I stayed in the Executive Suite which is on the 5th floor. All the staff were very helpful in directing me where I needed to go. The room was spacious and clean and the bathroom has complimenrty toiletries. I was able to go and see the Great Wall which the hotel reception was able to help me arrange. Over all it was a decent stay.

We spent 3 days and 3 nights with our 3 kids (ages 1-9), and we had a great time. The swimming pool is great (even though there's no kids pool) and there are plenty of options for food nearby, even good Western restaurants if you know where to find them. Great place and we had a great time.

Good place reasonably near the airport for an extended layover. Inexpensive and about 17 km from airport. No subway connection and you will need to take a cab to any tourist spots. Very competent and pleasant staff. Rundown facilities but well maintained. Large rooms, decent gym, bathtubs and lots of satellite TV channels every room, adequate food but many choices in the neighborhood.

Good restaurants in hotel and near by and the location is more residential not touristy. This however was the first time I was put into a ground floor room and in the morning there were unpleasant odors from the sewage. I asked to be moved and all was well for the rest of my stay.

Was in Beijing for medical reasons. Hotel was close to hospital. Starbucks, Watsons, Baskin Robbins, some high end restaurants within a 5-minute walk radius. Comfy bed. Lots of good amenities in room (kettle, coffee, tea, complimentary water, mini-fridge). Thorough cleaning. Decent English from employees. Just a nice, affordable stay during my recovery. I want to point out: It's not a medical facility so there's no medical care. It just was comfy and convenient for me after a minor medical procedure.

Friends & I went to Beijing for Christmas. Arrived on Christmas Eve. There was a big party in the lobby, jazz singers, special dinner, etc. It was packed, but the check in area was clear & check in was simple. No problem with the reservation. The location is great, close to Beijing Family United Hospital, Peter's Mexican restaurant, Jenny's import store, Elements Fresh restaurant & so many things an expat misses! Excellent Vegan restaurant upstairs. All the staff was accommodating, & lots of English. Even though the place is older, the rooms were large & the carpet clean! We really enjoyed our stay.

Have stayed in this hotel many times and am always happy to be there. This was my first experience during the national holiday and things were tolerable but not the same. Most management (or the experienced people we like to see time and again) were off so there were a number of misunderstandings and not the same service. Some of which is still not straightened out, It was still comfortable and housekeeping took very god care of us - so will always make it a stop when traveling to Beijing.

Solid hotel at reasonable price

The hotel has eroded since Holiday Inn left--it badly needs renovation and the public areas are kind of grimy. But it has what you need: pleasant and very competent staff, comfortable rooms, shuttle buses and taxis downtown, shops within the complex, and a decent gym with a pool. Everything works well, and staff appears instantly to fix anything that's off. Average price in the $80 range is reasonable.

I stayed at this particular Hotel many times in the past and was very pleased with it when it was with the Holiday Inn chain. It was still fine the first couple of years under the Metro Park name. However it has changed a great deal . The rooms are ok but have not been upgraded in many years. The hotel has no cocktail lounges or bars.
Room Service is terrible. The same menu has been in the room for over 10years. I ordered a pasta dish that I always had in the past and some red wine. The kitchen did not have it or any other pasta dish. They did have a club sandwich which I ordered. Then they called my room and said they had no wine, red or white. I will never stay there again.

We swung back thru Beijing for a 1 night stand prior to our departure for NYC the next day. We chose the Lido because it was very well priced and near the Beijing international airport, about 20 minutes away. The rooms are adequate and clean, but the place had a sort of \"I need a refurb\" air about it. It's also rather isolated. For our purposes it served nicely.

The hotel has deteriorated significantly

The rooms are in need of major renovation. Requested a non-smoking floor that for the full 4 days smelled of strong cigarette smoke. Finally had to ask the front desk to spray with air freshener. When it was Holiday Inn Lido, there were competent English speakers as staff. That is no longer the case. There were constant communication issues, like when the toilet back-flowed and no one seemed to understand that service was needed. The breakfast, which is only a buffet style and no ala-carte was absolutely horrible. And the staff would start mopping the floors while people were still eating. The waiting staff would stack the dirty places, place it on your table to pick you our plate to place it underneath the dirty stack. Only a spoon with a napkin was on the table as eating utensils. On the fifth day, we moved to the Renaissance Beijing, and for a few dollars more, we got beautiful breakfasts included in the room price with clean and beautiful rooms with absolutely no trace of cigarette odor anywhere. Will never stay at the Lido Hotel again.

Would have been nice but.....

This is a difficult one to review. The hotel itself was OK, nothing special, but it was OK. The problem was that the hotel was used to put the relatives of the recent lost Malaysian flight into during their ordeal. This in itself was not a problem, it was a little harrowing to be there at this time and to witness the emotions but not a problem (and far, far worse for the people who had lost friends and family). The problem was how the hotel dealt with what was going on around them, admittedly they were in a very unusual situation but they certainly took very little notice of any other guests whilst this was all going on. During my stay there was no communication regarding the hordes of media chasing people through the corridors, no apology for the disruption to any of the guests (including the relatives) and the final straw was when they put huge security into the hotel (guards, x-ray machines etc) and refused to discuss the reasons for this when asked. This happened 5 days into the ordeal and it was a little strange to be suddenly searched and scanned every time you stepped through the door with no-one willing to discuss what was going on and how long it would last. Eventually myself and a colleague checked out and moved to the Crowme Plaza hotel next door. We could have lived with the minor inconvenience considering what was happening but not the stone-walling by the staff and management as to why all these measures were put in place so long after the actual incident.

Hotel ok, but at the wrong time

We had booked this hotel before the Malaysian plane incident. Prior to our arrival we were not advised of this hotel holding the media and families of the missing plane - we should have been informed.

The experience was awful, bad atmosphere - it felt like a prison.

The point where we made a decision to leave the hotel early was the Sunday when they decided to put security and check points before entering the hotel. This made us feel very uncomfortable; nor would the hotel staff explain why this was the case. For our safety, we checked out of the Metro and went next door to the newly opened Crown Plaza. What a beautiful hotel and not one site of media, cameras, or security. It felt like a hotel, instead of a prison which is what the Metro felt like.

I am grateful this was a busines strip and not a holiday i invested in; I WOULD NOT be a happy customer.

The point i am making is: this is a big change for a hotel, and they should have informed ALL of their bookings that their hotel was under this pressure and atmosphere. It is very unprofessional to not advise your customers; and offer a full refund if they did not want to stay in that situation.

Comfortable for firstimers and longtimers

The Lido Is a great place to stay especially the first time you come to Beijing. The staff are all so friendly and accommodating. Many speak English so communicating is not as overwhelming as you may think. The Lido will always be my first stop when flying into Beijing. The breakfast is incredible and convenient. A very happy stay

Metropark Lido Hotel has a small shopping centre attached with a pharmacy, mini-supermarket and even a Starbucks! 2 mins down the road has some cafes and restaurants both chinese and western. The rooms are large with plenty of space for suitcases and anything else. The bed was comfortable and big, controllable AC, bath, 32\" flatscreen tv, mini bar, bathroom amenities and free bottles of mineral water daily. Would definitely say at Lido again!

Excellent choice for my business visit to BJ

I stayed at the hotel twice in the course of a 2 week visit to China. On both occasions, the hotels was a great respite from a frenetic tour and a frenetic city in which it is located. I would definitely recommend it to any traveller heading in that direction. Great access to the airport and the city.

Taxi drivers don't like this hotel

Our taxi driver complained so much about how little the fare is from the airport that I told him his attitude was really unprofessional. Not the hotel's fault, and not all drivers are like that. The hotel is quite dated (I stayed there in the 90s, it was Holiday Inn Lido) and its age shows. But maintained quite well. Good place for overnight before taking plane out of Beijing.

room too smoky, even we asked for \"non-smoking\" room, too stuffy with strong cigarettes smell, very unacceptable. Your HK Metropark is very clean and fresh air with no smoking room, even thoough the room is smaller as compared to Beijing bigger room but cigarette smell extreemely strong. Morning breakfast should be included as majority of hotel in your level all did just to accomodate customers,.

One night for business

A nice clean hotel with spacious rooms.
Pleasant staff. The décor could do with a little sprucing up and the elevators to the upper floor were quite far from the lobby.
Good value for money.
