The suite room has dust everywhere in the room. I wonder in how many weeks, there had no one checked in this room.
Toilet flushing water was all yellowish dirty water, can’t believe it’s in 5 stars hotel.
Hotel room Personal assistant responded slowly and insufficient.
The curtains can’t even block out the daylight in the morning.
The mattress hurted my back after waking up. It’s really ridiculous!
In the morning, there always just 1 staff in front desk. Not enough staff to handle and serve the guests.

This was our third stay at the Waldorf Astoria in Beijing. All three stays were excellent. The staff is great and very helpful. Kudos to restaurant manager Francis Wang and Chef Brian Wright. The Waldorf also offered great transportation service to the airport. Located by WangFuJing, it was easy walking to shops. I would not hesitate to stay here any time we visit Beijing.

My collogues booked on the Hilton app and I used Hotels.com. I paid nearly double without breakfast being included. Grossly overpaid using hotels.com

There is a lot of competition for hotels in Beijing. This one lives up to its status as a luxury hotel. The decor is spectacular, filled with lacquer, silk, and original artwork. The staff is incredibly professional. I did have a problem with the wifi and the staff went out of their way to solve the problem. And the location is really good, not far from historical/cultural sites, restaurants, and a metro stop.

Overall Excellent - Except the Wifi

This property is consistently excellent - with one exception. I have stayed at the Waldorf Beijing many times and have always found it comfortable and the staff are marvelous. However, the quality of the wifi is inconsistent. The limitations imposed by Chinese government regulations are outside the hotel's control, but a consistent wifi signal could be corrected.

This was our second stay at the WA in Beijing. We love the place and the people. The hotel is close to what we wanted to see and do. Helen set us up with Ren who took us to the Great Wall and was very informative and helpful. Everyone was wonderful. We have two suggestions - better lighting in the elevator to see what floor button to hit and more available outlets for computers, etc.

Great location, beautiful hotel inside, well trained staff. Shower flooded, fixed quickly. Stayed here a week. Breakfast was outrageous and the only option is the buffett. Even if you ask to order an entry. They will bring it to you then charge you the $40.00 USD for the buffet. Room service was cheaper. Also do not order a car service. Car service from airport 181 USD. Return by car $27. I expect to pay a premium, that is crazy. Bar service very slow and they allow for bar tables to be reserved for afternoon tea, don't expect and afternoon cocktail.

Fantastic stay in WangFuJing. There are only a couple too hotels to stay at in WangFuJing and this is one of them. Great staff, great rooms, great experience. Hotel is quite beautiful, and so are the rooms and the bathroom. I've stayed at the peninsula which is also very nice but somewhat older, can't comment on any of the other hotels.

The Waldorf Astoria Beijing is a centrally located hotel and lovely way to kickstart a trip following a long-haul flight. Beautiful hotel, gorgeous breakfast spread, helpful concierge service. The Imperial Palace is an easy walk from here as well as high-end shopping.

The only glitch we experienced was improperly booking for the previous day and having to pay an additional 3/4 again as the Waldorf didn't honour our mistake and grant us lenience. Apparently if we had booked directly through the hotel rather than hotels.com, they would have.

The Waldorf Evaluation
This is an amazing hotel. We were asked to upgrade when we arrived--to the next level if we signed up the for breakfast for two. We did so and were so happy. The room we received was just amazing. It was truly beyond expectations especially for a very reasonable price--half or a third the price of the best San Francisco hotels and clearly half the price of the best Hawaii and New York hotels. The room was 770 square feet with three rooms--a bedroom study with a separate standing desk--and a corner view of the city--wall to ceiling windows crystal clear-automated two layer blinds on both views. Extraordinary Chinese modern art throughout the suite. Tasteful combination of modern and antiquish Chinese furniture—recessed lighting in all rooms and L shaped entryway—full closets for him and her. It came with separate room for shower and bathtub—both were huge enough for two-tub—and three –shower. Beautiful fixtures and separate him and her sinks in the bath-tub room. Separate room for state of the art toto toilet—never seen one as good—with own sink. Best part of hotel was the staff and service—the concierge, both, were wonderful. One gave my fiancé some Yunnan tea from his home collection and accompanied us to the best tea store in Beijing. He spent 45 minutes with us drinking tea and explained the intricacies of Chinese tea. Everyone on the staff were extremely gracious and helpful—to the maximum.

Very nice hotel, nice location near Wangfujing shoping and eating area. However, our deluxe room is rather small, not propotional with the size of the bathroom. I think we were given a mediocre room in this property. Upon check in the receptionist insist that the rate only includes breakfast for 2 adults and we have to pay for another breakfast. In the reservation we book for 2 adults and 1 child, room and breakfast. Just disappointing and annoying for such classy hotel!

Love the location of this hotel which is close to everything essential to tourists in BJ. Also love the interior decoration and esp. the color of the hotel - the dusty green and the orange caught my eyes instantly when i enter my floor, and the blonze in the room as well. love the design. very friendly staff. Fantastic experience in Wanfujing area

If you are traveling to Beijing, are seeking a 5-star experience, and would like to be near the famous Wangfujing shopping area, the Waldorf Astoria, The Peninsula, and The Regent are the three best options. While The Peninsula is more regal, we found the Waldorf to be quieter an intimate. The staff blends the attention you would expect from a Waldorf property, with the kindness and helpfulness of Chinese tradition. We were upgraded to a suite, which turned out to be large and beautifully appointed. The breakfast (included in our rate) was wonderful and offered both Eastern and Western options. The bar is welcoming an cozy and has a seasonal selection of luxury food boxes; during our week, the hotel had a partnership with Chopard and the boxes were just beautiful. The food inside the boxes was so-so, and pricey, but the overall experience made it worth the spend.

Excellent service, right in the middle of town. Walkable to Tian’anmen Square. It’s right in front of Macau Center and a few blocks from Wangfujing food market. I had the breakfast buffet and it was outstanding!

Software is WA, hardware is \"Made in China\"

Since the hotel was rated 4.9 and given it was my first time in Beijing, I did not hesitate to reserve. Also my experiences with new WA hotels have been pleasant, especially the one in Beverly Hills. However I noted this one in Beijing wasn't at par with the rest. First, the building's craftsmanship is mediocre, so don't let the Expedia's photos fool you. There was definitely major photoshop jobs done to make it look impressive. There are too many loose ends in the hotel from corner to corner which I notice the poor job that was done on it. The service, I guess I am satisfied, because I never expected anything from mainland China. The staff are not as experienced as other WA locations. Food, also very mediocre, maybe that is a Beijing thing. I was not comfortable with too many local people staying in the hotel. The are loud, unpleasant and one guy was smoking in the lobby. I also saw another guy spitting in the elevator. My room, was on the 4th floor so I had a balcony facing west. I could not stop sneezing in the room because I notice it was extremely dusty and I am allergic to it. The balcony was also very dirty and I also notice all the windows were too. Overall I was not impressed with it.

Superb facility in great location.... BUT the staff speak terrible English, creepy cameras are watching you everywhere, the taxi cabs they hail are filthy, and the service level does not match the opulent building. We had an amazing suite for four days, but the cleaning lady would ring the door bell continually until we opened (literally 10 times like a fire alarm!). Unless you speak Mandarin it’s still a “difficult” experience.

Great service all along from the moment I stepped in the hotel. The location is at the hearted of BJ downtown and the room is spacious and comfy. Well worth 5 starts hotel.

Excellent stay

The hotel is very nice, clean and the service is excellent. Staff is helpful and friendly. Modern room setting and all the lightings, curtains, air conditioning and even TV can be controlled by a single tablet. Nice swimming pool. Great breakfast with massive choices and tasty coffee.

It’s a really nice, clean and classy hotel located in the heart of Beijing. Walk a few minutes to shopping malls and Wangfujing. Hotel staff super nice and helpful. Room is very clean, comfortable and smells good!! The only thing I would suggest is better water absorbing towels.

Great hotel in super location.

Great hotel with great service and buffet. We liked the location as we were able to walk to the malls nearby. The only thing we didn't think was up to par was the concierge staff. They were not at the same level as the other staff members. They couldn't give us any decent dinner recommendations and seemed a bit arrogant at times.
