The check in staff spoke enough English to check in east we arrived early and was able to check in straight away without having to ask. The hotel was very nice and we had two double beds . Would stay there again .

There was a huge cockroach in my companion's room on the first day we arrived, that was very unsettling as we were on the same floor. My companion got moved to another room and there was no formal apology. Given it is the marriot group, I really did not expect that kind of thing to happen. The breakfast was expensive given the quality. There was not that much option, lots of carbs, and not the kind of quality compared to other 4 stars hotel around. We stayed for 5 nights and the breakfast really was disappointing. Cleaning carts were pushed around during peak breakfast hours and it was unappetizing to see that. Overall, the room was comfortable and large, the location convenient.

The hotel’s prime location in the heart of Wangfujing is its greatest strength, offering convenience and safety. The rooms are also spacious with comfortable beds.

However, our stay was marred by a significant hygiene lapse: we were greeted by a large very active cockroach in our room on the first night. While the hotel did move us, the incident left me and my kids feeling unsettled.

The breakfast was also a letdown, featuring a mediocre selection and quality. Our concerns were confirmed when we saw staff openly transporting in the dining room what appeared to be low-quality ingredients to the kitchen.

Despite the great location, and being a fan of Marriot group, we might not come back to this hotel again.

Unfortunately we had a poor experience. We could not check in until almost 2 hours post confirmed check-in time.

When checked in, our room smelled (they had an air purifier running so and apparently a known issue. The shower had growth (understand mold) all over.

When we complained they said they can remedy the issue the next day... We decided not to follow up, but nobody asked or checked or even seem to have been bothered.

All considering - a poor experience and cannot recommend this hotel. My worst experience to date in China.

Poor service rendered.

The manager at the counter was very rude towards me when I was checking out this morning. They had charged me Rmb $500 which my credit card company had billed me and she insisted that there is no payment. I even showed her my statement with the Rmb $500. Still refused to believe. We wasted 1 hour just highlighting it but to no avail. Even threatened me with the police when I said I won’t pay the full amount. Is that the way how the treat guests. I had left a feedback on Trip advisor. Now that you ask I am sharing it with you. No more for me.

The front desk staff are poorly trained, I called in the morning to extend my stay and whomever picked up the phone promised me that we would stay at the same room. Great staff and breakfast

Our stay was very comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful and a great way to start the day! Location was very convenient, especially with the meituan (food delivery) cabinet right outside the lobby. Special mention to the concierge staff who went above and beyond when we left an item behind in the room. I’m very grateful for their support, patience and great attitude, even when we ran into difficulty. Housekeeping staff were also very nice and friendly to us and our kids.

Room was clean and cozy, but there were a few things we noticed like cracks in the wall /flooring near the window where the carpet had come loose and a very sharp edge on the sliding door of the restroom.

Centrally located and in walking distance to the subway, two major museums, theaters, and shopping & dining in Wangfujing. Breakfast is okay with a decent variety of the basics, although the congees were never hot and the wontons were too thick-skinned. It can get a bit boring after having the same things for 3 days. The staff were most thoughtful and committed, always patient and helpful.

Stayed at this hotel for 12 days with my elderly mother. We loved it so much that we will return on the next trip to Beijing.
Staff were attentive and helpful.
Hotel breakfast is generally excellent (只是小米粥不热、馄饨皮厚).
Centrally located and close to the metro line #8. All the shopping and sightseeing are super accessible. There is a theater across the street. It’s amazing.

I live in this hotel on the eighth floor, and the room is quite big, with a comfortable bed and very quiet surroundings. It's only 2 blocks away from Wangfujing. I love this hotel and will definitely stay there next time.

The hotel is terrific and located very close to the main 1st class shopping district in Beijing and is also a 20-30 minute walk to Tienamen Square, the National museum and close to three subway stops (10-15 minutes walk). Staff very helpful from the moment you arrive with quite adequate English, especially at the concierge desk. Only off notes was that the concierge sent me to a very expensive restaurant when there were several other options with quite good food at 1/3 the price. Be careful of the Art and Tea scams in Beijing, or the iPhone switch scam. They can very deviously steal your money in the 100s of dollars. Look that up before you leave.

We booked two rooms. Traveled with my parents, a toddler and a baby. We arrived at 4:30pm, was told our room won’t be ready until 1 hour later when check in time was supposed to be 2:00pm. Bed was comfortable, most of the staffs were nice. The only beautiful part is the lobby, everything else seems dated. I didn’t enjoy my interactions with the front desk at all, checkin took forever and she didn’t seem to care about the situation at all with how long we have to wait for our room to be ready with old people and little kids. There are too many 5 stars nearby, I was very underwhelmed.

Looking forward to returning!

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff were friendly, polite and efficient, always ready to help. The property was immaculately clean, and very comfortable. Great location! The dinner buffet had a vast variety of options (but not that many vegetarian selections). Breakfast was sumptuous. Would happily return and stay anytime. Highly recommended!

Renaissance hotel or Xin mao wan li hotel is amazing. Check in and check out in a breeze. The location is good, walkable to wangfujing shopping street. Everything evening there will be troops of dancers dancing along the pedestrian walk way. The best Beijing duck is here with lots of others of eateries. Must try quan jude Beijing duck house and Haidilao hotpot. Soho, sanlitun new shopping district in Chaoyang is 30 minutes taxi ride away . Tianamen square and forbidden city is nearby but better to get there in a taxi.
Lobby staffs are very attentive and helpful and morning buffet is not to be missed.

To my surprise it was hard to find staff that spoke English. How can an American brand hotel not have staff that speak fluent English. This is unacceptable. On our last night we decided to eat at the hotel’s restaurant, not only were we the only people there, which should of been a sign, but the chef was upstairs at the concierge level and we had to wait for the services to finish upstairs to have our meal prepared. So they gave us complimentary bread for the one hour delay to bring our food. This is supposed to be a 5 star hotel in a major capital city and they only have one person to prepare meals ? Unacceptable.
Breakfast was okay, but I have had better ones at a Fairfield Inn, again a 5 star hotel. The breakfast catered mainly to Chinese taste and was poor on western options. The bathroom had mold.

We booked a suite for us family of four and requested an foldable bed (since the sofa in the sitting room is not a sofa bed), none of the other hotels we stayed during our trip to China (W in Shanghai, Kinggang in Xi’an, etc) charged us but we were charged here and that being not even available the first night of our stay. Rooms were quite dated and all carpet, did not feel clean…

During our stay in Beijing, the hotel staff was amazing. The reception desk, Daniel, and Joanna were the best!! Very helpful and accomodating. Daniel went out of his way to help me find a store that sold SD cards. The dining room team were exceptional! The hotel was absolutely amazing. I stayed on the club level and the staff alone made it worth the price especially Wendy. I have stayed at many Marriott hotels and this one is by far superior to the others around the world.

Robot Surprise at the Renaissance Hotel in Beijing

This is a very convenient location, close to the Forbidden City, Tian'anmen Square, and Wangfujing Pedestrian Street. The hotel is super comfortable and the staff is very friendly and professional and helped me reserve a driver/car to take us to Mutianyu area of the Great Wall. They provided us with a map, helpful tips about where to go and THEY HAVE A ROBOT THAT YOU CAN CALL TO BRING YOU ITEMS LIKE WATER. This was so surprising and interesting...what a cool glimpse into the future :-) Thank you for a very nice stay.

Staff are nice and helpful. Being a 5-star hotel, cleanliness was not up to standard, there were insects inside the room. I have booked a room for three adults, however there were only two single beds. Staff nicely arranged an additional bed for us though upon our request. Toiletries were not replenished daily which is disappointing.

Very nice hotel and breakfast buffet. Tip - the buffet is less expensive if purchased at time of reservation. Not so good - hotel couldn’t get taxi by phone, thereby told us to hail one on street. Usually at this star level, they would do that.

The hotel has very cozy,clean and equipped room with great view. But I don't get it why even in luxury hotel like this there is such a bad and uncomfortable extra bed. Yea,I have experienced even worse but it is such a disproportion to the rest and two people get luxury bed and one from the group has to sleep on this substandard one.But everything met our expectations of the five star hotel BUT. It is huge problem in whole China that there is not sufficient knowledge of English of the staff. And there emerge problems when it came to money. My friends went on breakfast earlier than me and I told the staff if they had signed only for 2 people and now I will sign for myself, they ensure me about it but of course that was wrong and they had signed it for 3 people so if I didn't notice they will charge me one more breakfast which is not cheap in this hotel.But worst problem was that the hotel claimed to hold 4000RMB at my card despite the fact that I have paid everything in cash in advance.I would understand that it is for some case but I asked the staff during check- out if they will release my money next day and they said yes!After two weeks I still didn't get my money back! So I called the hotel,they said that some colleague with better English will contact me.Nothing happened.So I called again and they weren't able to see how the things are and they tried to persuade me that there were some other charges,finally they said they will release it.It took one more week.Terrible.

Checkin 3:30 was not available. When we returned at 6:00 the room was still not immediately available and we had to wait 15 minutes.
The phone quality is very poor, housekeeping cannot hear us and they had to call us back a few times to clarify basic requests.
The thermostat was broken in our room. Set to 23, but it just kept going colder and colder until 19 degrees, the only way to stop it is to turn the whole system off.
When we complained about all this, they gave us a USD$5 bottle of wine (we don't drink and had carry-on luggage, so we just left it for housekeeping).
The robot was awesome.
Location is a bit far from the subway with luggage. There are no grocery-stores/bakeries nearby. Walking 15mins to Wangfujing is your best bet if you need food - but it's busy, expensive and a it touristy.
Overall - not a great hotel, not a great location, not a great experience, but the robot was cool.

Beautiful hotel but the website did not include all amenities, so I was unaware that there was a pool. We would have packed a swimsuit which would have helped with the heat. Meals were very disappointing. They had a \"special deal\" for breakfast that required joining at check in that would have cost $26.25 a day per person. For breakfast? Get real! The alternative was a croissant and a coffee that was week and tasteless for $3.30. We did that one day but from there on we went to a local restaurant a couple blocks away and had an amazing meal for less than $7 for the both of us. One day they did not clean the room and left a note saying they couldn't clean due to the condition we left it. What was wrong was beyond me. They did not even empty the garbage, nor resupply the water. I complained and they did a double good job from then on but they never did tell me what the condition was that they could not clean the room. Would I stay here again? Maybe, but doubtful.

Great comfortable luxury hotel central in Dongcheng, close to the main attractions within central Beijing.
Easy access and walk to the metro. Also close to Wangfujing Pedestrian shopping mall.
Rooms are roomy and the bathroom has been fitted out to a very high standard. The indoor pool is full size, be sure to take your swimming cap though!

Great location

Very modern hotel, good location just a 15 minute walk to the forbidden city. Lots of restaurants near by. The service from some of the staff could be better, nothing was explained to us when we checked in but overall happy with our short stay here. On a positive note the breakfast is one of the best I have seen in 40 years of traveling.
