Check in was easy and quick and the hotel's location is very convenient to a metro line and shopping centre (along with a number of attractions)

The rooms were clean and housekeeping kept us regularly stocked up with water and towels. Decor, features in the rooms were a little aged, but functional and did not detract from functionality.

Breakfast fare was a good variety. Although the seating area can get busy with limited space during peak breakfast times.

This is just about 4 stars hotel, the location is very good but the hotel needs a lot of attention, the maintenance department needs to do their job properly. Gym toilets are below average , the staff were polite and responsive.

Nous avions réservé une suite avec lit King. Notre chambre avait un lit Queen, il n’y avait pas de machine à café et le bruit de la rue était insupportable. Heureusement la gérante nous a surclassé dans une suite Première, cela a réglé ces inconvénients. Toutefois, la salle de bain était très ordinaire. Le bain est trop petit pour s’allonger et les serviettes élimées ainsi que les robes de chambre. Le menu du restaurant est très réduit et le buffet déjeuner très ordinaire. L’hôtel est cependant très propre.

For this part of our trip we were moved to an adjacent building. The room was smaller ( we needed to extend our stay and there were no more deluxe rooms available) but our main complaint was that the room was stifling hot. The afternoon sun seems to hit that side of the building and just made the room a hothouse. We tried to cool the room off but were told the aircon had been shut off as it was late October. The hotel did bring in a portable fan but we were still very uncomfortable. Also, being in the adjacent building was inconvenient to the lobby. Still the hotel is in an excellent location and the staff were friendly.

The property is a 3 star and in need of upgrades. The housekeeping that attends to the rooms is subpar and provided an incredibly poor service for taking out the trash, additionally, they failed to vacuum or place items such as bottled water and coffee packets where they belong. The decor is dated and the glass was cracked on the desk. The bathtub was in atrocious shape. This was a superior corner unit. The rest of the hotel is fine, room service is quick, but food wasn’t very good. I am giving this a lower rating based on the overall cost value as opposed to nitpicking minute inefficiencies. The price point is representative of the location, but not the overall condition, service, or experience of the hotel.

Highly recommend this hotel!

They allow early check-in if rooms are available—I arrived at 10 AM and was able to check in, even though the official check-in time is 2 PM.

They accept takeout and package deliveries, which is super convenient. I ordered over 10 packages during my stay. If you’re not in the room, the front desk will hold them for you 24/7—you can even pick them up at midnight. They’ll also deliver packages directly to your room without asking for tips.

The hotel has a large parking lot, and the fee is very affordable.

Free fruit, snacks, and attentive service make the stay even better.

The hotel is a bit dated, but everything else exceeded my expectations!

The place is well located near all attractions. Transport options are good. The hotel staff are friendly. They were helping us to book transport and tickets to Great wall.
The only drawback is during our last few days, the hotel shut the swimming pool for maintenance. Otherwise five stars experience.

In the description on Expedia app, it says they’ve shuttle from airport to the hotel there’s no shuttle, also mentions about hot tub, sauna and other services thats not true. Swimming pool in ok condition you’ve buy the head ware from guy in charge sitting in the pool with cash or WeChat or Alipay other than that you can’t swim.

The hotel is located walking distance to Wang Fu Jing. Location is good, but the hotel is a bit old and lack maintenance. The room door is unable to close properly on its own, the shower tap mixer was not working well. The room was very stuffing as the air conditioner was switched to natural ventilation after mid night.

Location Dream - Average Hotel

Positives - the hotel itself is situated in a great spot. Close to Wangfujing street for shopping, walking distance to the forbidden city and close to transport to easily get to and from other areas of Beijing without taking a car (which is a huge advantage in Beijing as traffic is horrendous).

Staff were friendly too when we were unhappy with our initial room. Do note there are two sides to this hotel. One which appears to be the main building. And the tower 2 which we disgusted by when we entered the room. The room smelt musky, there was dust all over the benches, the walkway leading into the rooms were dimly lit. The only saving grace was the bathroom appeared to be newly renovated but even then, streaks all over the glass and mirrors. It appeared like this room hadn’t been stayed in in months and was just left that way.

We did get moved to a level closer to family who were staying which was great and even though the room was in the better side of the towers, the room was still quite musky and old, with the bathroom in a worse state. We didn’t want to spend much time here which was good because there was so much to explore but coming back to a room that felt unclean and dusty. Our son who has eczema had no issues on this trip at other hotels however broke out into rash after 1 night sleeping here.

If not for a 5 star location, we were seriously considering staying at another hotel after the first night. Disappointing given price wise there are similar nearby.

Novotel Peace is Centrally located close to Shopping malls,LV & Branded bags etc across the road, Restaurants,Tiananmen Square 30 min walk, Forbidden City 20 min walk.Coffee Lovers Starbucks few meters fr Novotel. Reception was very helpful recommended Btg Tour which I have pre booked a Private Tour to The Great Wall wd English Tour Guide. Recommends online tickets for Forbidden city & Tiananmen Square if you visit without Tour Guide via Viator. Interpreter Application helped interpret English - Chinese made communication manageable. There is a Guide map of Beijing city including Tourist Attractions available at the Reception. Our family had a great 5 days stay at Novotel.

The hotel is located in a brilliant area very close to subway stations on different lines which is handy. Forbidden Palace is walkable and access to all the other attractions is so simple by subway.
The rooms are very spacious however could do with a little updating such as the bathroom and carpets however the beds and facilities in the room are excellent. We had a small issue where there was no hot water at 6am on the day we were going on a day trip which was not good as we are people that always shower first thing in the morning before we start the day. It was eventually warm enough to get a quick shower but when it’s cold winter outside you want a warm shower before going outside for the entire day. Not a big problem but one that shouldn’t happen in a hotel.

The breakfast was ok, lots of items made at the same time and some were cold and had been lying out for a long time. No cereal options which was annoying. Plenty of cooked western and Asian options. Coffee isn’t great as it’s a machine using long life milk and the fruit juice was from concentrate.

Lobby Bar is great with happy hour every day 6pm - 8pm. Midweek it’s different drinks but at the weekend it’s any drinks on the menu 2 for the price of one. Which is good making a bottle of Tsingtao only 20 Chinese Yen! 40 Chinese Yen for. Cocktails could be better though.

But if the hotel management are reading this review….please please please change the lobby music.. 24/7 it plays the same 3 minute track on repeat!!

Amazing location, disappointing stay

The location of this hotel is exceptional and one of its few positive aspects. Unfortunately, that’s where the praise ends. My friends and I booked two separate rooms—one a twin deluxe and the other a king deluxe. While their twin room featured soft, comfortable beds, my king room had an extremely firm, almost rock-hard bed, making it difficult to rest properly.

The biggest issue, however, was the inability to control the room temperature. Both rooms were unbearably hot, feeling like saunas, and we had no option but to sleep on top of the beds without any blankets. When we approached the front desk for assistance and inquired about switching rooms, we were informed that temperature control was set for the entire hotel and could not be adjusted individually. This was very disappointing and significantly affected our stay.

While Beijing itself is a vibrant and beautiful city that we thoroughly enjoyed exploring, this hotel fell short of expectations. Regrettably, I would not choose to stay here again.

The property is in a dire need for an upgrade. I stayed at the new wing and the old wing. Both are equally old. Apart from the convenience, the hotel rooms are nothing to shout about. The toilet tiles were cracked and the drainage in the bathroom was bad. An overhaul is badly needed for the place

The hotel is an older hotel compared to others around the neighborhood. The location is fantastic though.

The swimming pool requires you to wear a swimmer cap so remember to bring one. The fitness center is older and doesn't really have good AC. There's also no towels or water in the fitness center. There are towels in the swimming pool area and the bathroom has showers for you to wash up before going to your room.
