The Palazzetto Rosso's brick façade's lay out follows multiple shapes such as large ribs and geometrical patterns, skillfully organized upon old planning regulations dated from the Middle Age, and distinctive to Siena. This outstanding historical façade is completed by ensigns and flares made of wrought iron and dated from the Middle Age as well.

Stunning hotel mixing the ancient historical building and artefacts with modern living. The staff were exceptional - friendly, welcoming and always available to help. Great location within the city with a range of parking options. Breakfast hosted a wide range of continental options and it was delicious. Definitely one to revisit in the future.

Staff was incredible (Flavia, Claudio, and others). The breakfast was magnificent. The only recommendation that we have is that the hotel could have someone available to answer questions after 2100 when the receptionist leave. We lost power in one
Side of the room where the fan was plugged and we had to wait until next morning to be repaired. However, we will stay there again if we come back to Siena. Beautiful place and helpful staff!

Super well redeveloped historical building into a gorgeous boutique hotel. Staff were extremely helpful, always smiling and always offering help. Claudio even curated a travel map for us. Everything from clean rooms to comfy beds to high end bath robes to excellent breakfast were exceptional. Have already made arrangements to return next year. A real jewel of Siena.

This hotel is located in a great part of the city and is very walkable to multiple sites to see and experience. Parking off site was a short walk and easy to figure out. The staff has also been so very friendly and helpful which makes the experience that much more enjoyable. We also enjoyed the fresh breakfast in the mornings to start our day.

Like in Home

As seniors of their 60s and 70s visiting Italy for the 1st time, we chose Hotel Palazzetto Rosso per Rick Steves tour book recommendation. Although the facility was simple and practical, it was clean, staff were warm, breakfast was ample, like come home. Great service. Thank you!

A tremendous location

A fantastic stay with incredibly friendly staff. An excellent location and the breakfast was superb each morning.

Parking was really easy. It's away from the hotel but with the card you can come and go from the parking lot as you wish.

The hotel is in a great location easily walkable to the Duomo and museums as well as a bus stop (Stuffa Secca) that takes you to / from the Siena train station (although be warned, it's a short but steep climb up the hill from the stop to the hotel). The staff is very friendly. The breakfast is generous and varied. The lobby is beautifully decorated. My room was spacious. When I come back to Siena, I'll try to stay here,

Absolutely lovely and unique hotel with helpful friendly staff. Only downfall was the bathroom-great water pressure but no counter space at all! Bring a hanging toilette kit. If driving, pay close attention to the parking instructions provided by the hotel and know you’ll have to go up 5 escalators and walk around 8 mins with your suitcases.

Quite nice

Extremely good location in the city of Siena but parking requires about a 10 minute walk and cost 20 EU/day (good price for unlimited in/outs).

Building was well converted to today's standards. Nice daily breakfast (cold cuts, breads, cereal).

Lounge/breakfast area also offers serve-yourself (all for fee) drinks throughout the day.

This is a quirky property right in the heart of Siena. We had the suite at the top and it had great views. Room is cool modern design with the bed in the middle of the room.

I loved everything about this hotel except for the shower (lack of a real one). The location is superb, staff commendable and professional, the room is huge, and very quiet (I couldn't tell there were any other guests in the hotel), and beautiful juxtaposition of modern & dramatic architecture into this middle ages building. I would have rated this hotel 5 stars if it weren't for the lack of a true stand up shower with a sliding glass door. It was a hand held and ended up spraying the bathroom the first time I used it.

A beautiful old building, lovingly and interestingly converted into a small boutique style hotel whilst maintaining the drama and historic feeling of the property. Very nice, helpful and accommodating staff, nothing was too much trouble, large clean and comfortable rooms which were cleverly designed to maintain both a classical and modern feel at the same time. Very nice breakfast provided with quality local products and interesting blended juices.

The property is gorgeous, unique and very well designed. Design and upgrades are par excellence. The staff are excellent - one of the very best I have seen. Very helpful and warm. Breakfast was amazing.
The hotel is very close to everything at walking distance in an outstanding location.
The one thing that needs serious improvement is the bath. We had booked a premium double room via expedia that was supposed to have a tub according to the description but were given a different room that has a shower without an enclosure. Every bath wet the entire bathroom and made it unusable. This needs to be clear at booking.

Beautiful hotel with so much character-built in 13th century! Yet amenities were modern and contemporary and super clean! (tub with sprayer was nice but stand up shower would be ideal). Perfect location-walking distance to El Campo, restaurants & shops. Staff was very friendly & accommodating! Will stay here again when we return to Sienna!

Attracted to the spacious rooms and architectural Re work of this very old building.
It did not disappoint in this respect, although the bathroom layout without a shower is awkward.
Staff were great, pleasant, invested a real delight.
Although there is minimum hotel dining facilities the breakfast was good.

Good location, great staff

We really enjoyed staying here. The rooms are really unique and the hotel is really something else. The location is right in the old central area of Siena close to many restaurants, shops and historical sites. Driving there however is very daunting and I wouldn’t recommend it to an in-experienced North American driver.

Cool boutique hotel and great service

Very cool boutique hotel. Loved the fusion of old architecture with modern interior design. The family who did the renovation of this 13th century building did a great job. While our bathroom was compact to say the least, it was cool to have a reading room in the attic of our bedroom, somewhere to retreat to when you want to get away from the crowded Sienese streets. The location of the hotel is excellent, minutes from the main sites, but still quiet. Staff are super friendly and nice touch to get a welcome drink, especially when it’s very good local wine. It’s also a ‘lobby’ that you want to hang out in as opposed to just pass through on the way to your room. With only 9 rooms it’s possible you’ll end up talking to the other guests. But at the same time it’s not unusual to be the only ones at breakfast. The breakfast buffet, while not as extensive as larger hotels, was good in its selection and in the good quality of its products - particularly the sweets! Would definitely recommend this place. if we ever go back to Siena I would definitely stay here! note: the lift is small & slow, and we would usually use the stairs anyway but it’s a bit more tough going when the stairs are original stone, bit worn after centuries of use and quite deep. But it’s a scenic climb when there’s so many architectural details to look at. if you ask for a restaurant recommendation, ask them to write the names down & check them out yourself. Or they will just book a place and tell you after.

Don’t drive there

Rosso is centrally located and in a beautiful old building. The rooms are modern and the staff were very friendly/helpful. Few things: don’t drive to it, don’t take the stairs, and don’t run the shower at high pressure.

Great location and beautiful hotel

Hotel was in a great location - walking distance to all attractions and restaurants. Concierge service was great and if you're driving, I highly recommend the valet service. Beautiful room; however, if you don't need handicap access to the shower, I would not advise staying in the accessible room - the water from the shower goes all over the bathroom and will go under the bathroom door into the bedroom.

Amazing place in a perfect location

Amazing hotel in a medieval building that blends ancient and contemporary very well. The room was big, comfortable and well appointed, albeit a little quirky. The location is perfect, just around the corner from the main drag and walking distance to everything. We managed to follow the hotel's instructions through the maze of ancient, largely pedestrianised streets and drove to the front door. The staff parked our car overnight for €30 and returned it to the front door the next day. That's the same you'd pay if you parked in one of the lots outside the city walls. Overall an amazing place, great staff, super location, good value. Very much recommended.

Palazzo... superb

We stayed only one night in Siena, but this hotel was without out any doubt the best place we stayed in during a week long trip to Italy. Very friendly staff - who provided perfect recommendation for dinner. Not a large hotel, but the rooms and the sitting/breakfast areas are out of this world.

Very nice hotel in the heart of Siena. The staff were very nice and friendly, the room was spacious and clean; minimalist design. The hotel truly looks like a palazzetto. The only problem: no shower enclosure and no shower overhead, which made it awkward and time consuming to, well, shower.

Very Accommodating Staff

Very nice boutique hotel with charm and some style. Cool old building. The \"modern\" furniture tries to hard and is cheap but it doesn't matter because it is comfortable enough and has a cozy feeling. Same situation with the rooms. Mix of Renaissance Italia and \"modern\" furnishings. Small elevator is nice too since there is about 3 high floors.

Original room layout was strange, like a long hallway shaped room. But we took the upgrade to the suite which had a better view of the street and was very very spacey. Bed was pretty comfortable. Weird encased glass bathtub and sinks, with like a tube shaped toilet room. But hey I am no interior designer, so maybe that's edgy now. We thought the furniture was a bit tacky but we didn't mind as long as it's functional. Super high ceiling with cool city coat of arms was a nice touch.

TIP: Don't try to park your own car here. Medieval streets are not for the unfamiliar. We used valet and it was well worth the price, BUT getting there by car can be very, very tricky. So if you need help and don't speak italian you might have some issues. We made it ok by using google maps but it didn't take us directly to the hotel and through very pedestrian streets. So be warned about Siena driving.

All in all a great hotel with very nice staff.
