Pretty sketchy place. Photos look decent but they are deceiving. Cheap awful sheets, worn carpet, bathroom need a good scrub. Plastic on lamp shades a fire hazard. Good news try Uncle Giuseppe's grocery store down the road, pretty amazing place.

I was in town for my mothers funeral so I chose this hotel due to it's proximity to the cemetery. Staff was very nice and friendly at check in and checkout. Fairly clean and quiet room. However, this is an old hotel that needs a lot of updating. Faucet was rusty and wiggly, bed was super uncomfortable and could feel the springs. Mattress had burn marks in it, and sheets had holes. Overpriced for what it is. I'm glad I used my free night for this stay.

The bed listed to one side like a sinking ship. Very uncomfortable! The shower stall was not clean, and the heat could not be regulated. Finally, there were some shady characters skulking around the property. This is not a bad area, so I don't know why this was unless they house homeless people for the county. Lastly, there was no coffee although they say there is.

Cleaning person was polite and accommodating ..microwave was clean also frig. If you take off your socks and took a step the carpet was so dirty you had to put them pack on....bed had no mattress pad and sheets barely fit the bed...don’t know what the call that piece of farbric on top of bed...pillows were like rocks. Walls had damaged and they BADLY needed to be painted.
Had gotten a extra sheet from service and wrapped myself in it to go to bed. Toilet seat had chips.would not dare take a shower without putting on a pair of water shoes ..Pictures are not accurate...WOULD NEVER GO BACK...

It's a decent hotel for the price you are paying. Don't come with high expectations of room service or staff catering for breakfast needs and stuff like that as you'd get at a 3 or 4 star hotel. I stayed in a room that had two beds in there and the room was clean for the most part I noticed one hole in one of the sheets but it looks as advertised for the most part. I'd recommend it to persons who just want somewhere to rest their heads for a night or two at an affordable price if you're in the area to visit a school or job meeting and things of that nature.

We Could Have Been Told about the key being wiped clean and not opening your door if you store next to your cell phone. The refrigerator is a nice size and the room was clean. The AC work nice and fairly quick. It is what it is, clean basic accommodations.

Try it if you want to but I won't go back.

Well aside from being a non smoker in a smoking room and having to wash everything brought into the room when I got home because of the stench, and having to go to the local target to buy bedding because the comforters had burn holes in them, and the nightly 3am wake up by the same women who I'm assuming was a resident there ok there is no other side, it was yucky. We would have gone elsewhere but it was family weekend at the University and everything was booked. Next time I will gladly pay more for a better place. I'd say you get what you pay for but if that were true this place should have cost $20 a night.

The worst motel I have ever stayed in! Dirty and stark. 2 holes in the wall and dirt (?) marks running down the walls. It looked like someone had thrown a cup of coffee at the wall. Unfinished wood with carpenter's pencil makings still on it. No pictures on the walls. Several cigarette burns on the bedspread. Store plastic left on all three lampshades which was yellow and had never been dusted. Won't be staying THERE again!

Cheap for the area, but the smell

The hotel was close to my work commitments for the day and cheap when compared to other area hotels. I didn't expect much, but the room stunk like the stains on the carpet came from a lot of pets. The room had a few updates, mostly furniture, but needed a total remodel. The staff was ok, but once again don't expect too much. I recommend avoiding this hotel, because life is too short to breathe that smell.

We needed a place to stay to break up a long drive and made our reservations with low expectations. We knew it was a no frills hotel. Rarely do I post poor reviews. What was exceptionally disappointing about the hotel was the smell of smoke. Although we had a non smoking room the rooms behind us were not. The smell of smoke coming from them was so bad you would of thought we had a smoking room. I've been in smoking rooms that had a better smell.

The air was stale and stagnant. Under the bed (not cleaned in a year plus) was an old orange and tumbleweeds (only overstating slightly)

Bad Conditions, Close to Port Jefferson Fishing

Horrible , had to move us from first room because room was half clean and someone left there cloths and the shower looked dirty, second room when the attendant let us in , he started cleaning the shower stall, blanket had cigerette burns on it, it was a room for a fishing trip out of Port Jefferson for 2 guys, had it been my wife , we would have left this place , but anywayit was 8 min away from Boat dock, but I'll pass on this place next time

Wanted to like it

I was planning on staying here 3 nights per week for a month or two. I didn't have high expectations.

Bed spread, carpet and towels were all wrinkled. Yes. All. Bed side table looked like it hadn't been wiped down in quite a long time and there was old toothpaste stuck to the side of the sink.

The first morning, I left just before 5am, stopped at the office, and told the desk person that I did not want housekeeping and that I had a surveillance camera in the room. He seemed to understand.

At about noon, I received an alert that showed me someone has entered my room. I called the motel and told them that housekeeping entered my room, and I understood that people can forget when they are so used to doing their jobs in a certain way and I was just calling to remind them. It seems the man I was speaking with was the owner. He was upset and told me it was safe and he'd owned the place for 18 years and I didn't need a camera. I told him it wasn't personal and I brought it to all my hotels.

Anyway, when I'd looked back at my camera, my view was blocked. When I returned to my room after work, I found that someone had placed one of my bags if front of the camera.

The room hadn't been cleaned as I'd requested, and nothing seemed to be missing, but someone DID move my personal items to block the camera.

I will not stay there again.

The room was outdated. The mattress was filthy with stains and horrible to sleep on. The towels were old and stained. No bath mat, bare essentials. Alot of ruckus outside all night long kept waking us up. Furniture had holes. Most uncomfortable place. However the coffee offered at the office was very good.

My fiance` got athletes foot from the bathroom. Either from the floor or the shower or both. You really need to clean the rooms and bathrooms more thoroughly!!!! Definitely not happy!!!!!

Not so good! The non-smoking room was in fact smoking - the desk said that the room next door was smoking and the smoke came in the bathroom. Bath fan did not work and lighting was way below standard. Won't be back there again!

This is the 3rd time I've stayed here. It's convenient to my grandkids' place, so even though it was a bit mildewed and plain last time I booked here again. The mildew was worse, and there was what appeared to be a bit of spattered, dried chocolate milkshake on a corner of the bedspread. The water left a brwin stain inside my CPAP evaporation chamber. The only coffee machine is in the lobby, and it's good, but the donuts were stale. Not coming back.

The management was horrible and accused us of having visitors in our hotel and yelled in the parking lot that she was going to charge us more money. The bathroom already smelled like smoke and it was a non smoking. This place is awful and the woman and manager should be fired for being so extremely rude.

Fairly rundown motel with pleasant man at the desk. Room stunk of chemicals, as if they tried to cover up cigarette smell in a non-smoking room. Room doesn't feel terribly secure....big window, flimsy door, damaged key card mechanism. But, for a less-expensive option if you just need a place to sleep for a night, it's tolerable.

Seemingly quiet, minus the drunk permanent tenant

Hotel quality was fair. Office staff was perfectly reasonable. The stay would have received a 3-4 star rating, except that the hotel has a tenant who has lived at this facility for something like 10-15 years, who is a drunk. I wanted to stay at a cheaper hotel, for an interview in the Port Jefferson / Stony Brook area, so I had to wake up early for this interview. I was awoken several times an hour from 2am-6am by banging on the walls and shouting and knocking on my door by this drunk resident of the hotel. I called hotel staff, who told me he was drunk, and didn't do much else to stop the problem, and that, \"he just does that\". I was on the verge of calling the police, but did not as I was hopeful for his ranting to stop. Breakfast offerings were a single box of donuts.

Moderate Your Expectations :)

What can I say? Ya get whet you pay for. There's a roof. And indoor plumbing.
I wouldn't recommend leaving any valuables in the room as:
1) the lock on the door works like a public restroom, toggling between a red \"occupied\" and green \"vacant\" label which broadcasts your presence or absence to the outside world and
2) the clerk insisted I return the hair dryer after use so the housekeepers wouldn't take it. Really??

Worst night ever!

The first room they gave us had not been cleaned. The sheets and bedcovers were from the last users. The bed was not made. They gave us a different room on the back side of a building next to a high fence with very little lighting. Another patron reported that the front desk would not answer the phone, even after an hour. Then the people in the next room began fighting, throwing each other into the wall that separated their room from ours. Finally, the police came. We could not leave because we feared for our lives. We are two elderly ladies traveling together. This was a horrible experience. This motel is NOT SAFE!

Not the best for the rate.

When we arrived the scent of air freshener was overpowering. We went out for several hours. When ee returned the air freshener hdissapated and the awful oder it was covering was very apparent. The sheets looked dirty and stained. I would not stay here again.

We had 2 rooms for a single overnight. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The location is a little noisy but all rooms have easy access as there are no stairs. Breakfast is nothing more than a donut but the price is comparable for the area.

No where else to go

I needed 2 rooms for one night. I was attending a party and didn't want to drive back to Philly the same day. All other hotels in the area were either sold out or way to much money per night. The place was a standard motel, the room was OK the size was good the king bed was not very comfortable but it was OK. The bedroom and bath rooms were very clean. They only provided 3 pillows for a king size bed, the norm seems to be 4 two per person. There was no blanket in the room and no way to get one when it was time for bed. The office closes at 10pm we didn't return to the room until after 10pm. The staff that checked us in was very nice and tried to be accommodating. It was fine for a short stay but I would not want to spend more than one or two nights. The neighborhood was fine and close to restaurants and activities such as Port Jefferson. I think it's priced to high for the quality, but would stay again in a pinch.

By far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

Absolutely terrifying experience. Cigarette burns all over the comforter, sheets and pillows (did not request a smoking room). Cracked TV screen and taped together remote (looks like something threw the remote at the TV). Massive holes in the horribly disgustingly stained carpet. Mold and spiderwebs all over the ceiling. Tiny, gross bathroom with paint peeling off the toilet seat and -not kidding- blood stains on the wall next to the toilet. Broken clothes hanging rack hanging off the wall. No iron, no hair dryer. Tiny, gross, smelly foam pillows, and only 2 on the bed. Slept fully clothed for fear of getting a rash or disease. Broken shower head basically just poured water out. Using the shampoo once gave me dandruff for a week, to the point of having to buy special shampoo afterwards.

The room looked ABSOLUTELY NOTHING like the picture and hotels.com should be ashamed to do business with such a disgusting location. I rushed into town last minute to visit my father in the hospital and this was the only room available anywhere near the hospital. This was, without a doubt, the absolute worst hotel experience I have ever had, and a filthy, borderline hazardous hotel like this should not be listed on this site. It is a public health and safety hazard and should be torn down.

I really hope my impression is completely wrong!!!

We arrived around midnight. The cleaning staff was actively cleaning rooms when we arrived. The parking lot was full, and a woman was sitting in a car next to us when we pulled in doing her makeup. The next morning, the lot was nearly empty and the guy at the front desk was explaining to a staff member how to charge when the guest stays the whole night. Definitely not the family motel I was expecting!

Perfect for Quick Night's Rest

We stayed here for one night because I had a race early in the morning the next day and we are from NYC.

It appears to be an old motel that was bought by a big national chain. They spruced up the rooms a bit and but in some nice flat screen TVs.

Pros:
Clean Room
Kind size bed, reasonably comfortable
Competent Heater/AC

Cons:
Bathroom was neglected when re-doing the rooms. Still painted an awful green color and shower/toilet were a bit dated (the shower head was new tho and water pressure was fine).
Exterior feels a bit creepy, but there were absolutely no issues

We got stuck here because all the normal hotels were full for the weekend. At $95 for the night it was the cheapest and closest option to the race and worked out perfectly.

Its not a room you are going to want to spend time in, but if you are looking for a room to crash in for the night this will suit you needs perfectly.

If you enjoy the smell of cigarettes this is the place for you. The bed spread had more holes than some designer jeans that were in style. After leaving my luggage in the room for 24 hrs, my chothes smelled like cigs as if I were a chain smoker.

Well the staff is nice.

If you are just looking to crash for a night it is great. It's 2 miles from the train station which is kind of a far walk, but it is a short walk to go to a shopping center nearby. You can order food straight to your door which is nice too. I requested a nonsmoking room and they gave me a smoking room because it was all they had, the cigarette smell wasn't too strong but you could tell it was there. From the outside it looks a bit scary and it's kind of out of the way. The room was not bad, it had a new kind of door lock rather than a swipe and the room was pretty clean. I personally wouldn't stay in it again but the night I did spend there was not bad.

We had to take this motel because the Danforth(sp) was full for a double room. This was ok - an old fashioned motel - open to the parking lot. The beds were comfortable and the outside bathroom area was ok.
the shower area needs complete redoing and patching should be done in the doorways and painting to close holes.
