The iRoHa Garden Hotel is a lovely place to stay. It doesn’t have all the refinement of a 5 star hotel, but it also has more character. The staff and owner are extremely friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable, and dinner and breakfast excellent. I do highly recommend this property.

This hotel is not your standard 4/5 * hotel. This is a local, individual hotel, not a sky scraper. It is run and owned by a Japanese manager as a result, the service is 10*. The staff are thoughtful and truly charming. Nothing has been overlooked to make your stay the best it can be. I had considered Rosewood but, really glad I didn’t go there. One large corporate hotel is much like another in any City and the big hotels here are all in the financial district and so no local restaurants you can walk to. The owner of this hotel made personal recommendations of restaurants to try, which were all excellent. Could not recommend this hotel more. It is small, individual and special.

What an amazing introduction to Cambodia - the hotel was so lovely and peaceful, it felt like home after long days out and we were always made to feel so welcome on our return. The owner is delightful and gave us some wonderful tips on what to do while there and checked to ensure everything was ok. The room was huge and the food delicious, with a great variety available. The staff are incredible and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable, honestly one of the best parts of our stay. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again and can’t imagine being anywhere else in Phnom Penh, thank you for everything.

Highly recommeded Hotel with excellent service

The service and staff is on par with the best in the world! The owner was there to greet us and help answer any questions we had about the area and things to do. The staff is well trained, polite and accomodating.

The hotel is so clean and comfortable. And there are beautiful specialized touches everywhere you turn. It is located in a great part of the city and a magical garden paradise within. There are even great walking spots right outside the door.

Overall, this was a very pleasant stay. Front line staff were extremely polite, helpful, interactive, respectful and always went about their tasks with a smile. The hotel manager, Susumu, was a nice fellow however we sensed he was sometimes a little disingenuous and fake towards guests. He was a little intrusive and over-inquisitive and on a few occasions overstepped the normal level host & guest interaction. We sensed he has a healthy ego, and seemed keen to want to over share about himself and all he has done for the hotel. At times, it was a little creepy and, as described, disingenuous. He seemed to cater more for Chinese guests than non-Chinese guests; and sometimes preferences Chinese guests in front of us and others. It became very clear as the week progressed who he prefers to have stay at this location. That aside, his staff were absolutely fantastic and whilst he provided a tip at the end of our stay we are somehow hoping it all goes to the hard working front line staff including cleaners, kitchen personnel and bar & beverage attendants - and not just into Susumu's pocket. It is important to emphasis that this was an overall great hotel and experience. It may not be everybody's cup of tea, and there were some elements of the physical hospitality that are quite out dated. Some elements of the hotel could probably benefit from an overhaul and update of equipment and guest amenities. Modern, streaming TV(s) would be a good start for rainy days indoors.

Five Star hotel at a reasonable price!

This is a FIVE STAR hotel at a lower price than most hotels advertised as such. The service is absolutely impeccable and they anticipate your every need. The owner, Mr. Kuroda, is onsite every day and most helpful. They have a great restaurant on the property with free breakfast! The big beautiful swimming pool is lovely. The garden is beautiful and very peaceful. The room was up to the highest of the high standards. Highly recommended!

An oasis in Phnom Penh

A beautiful hotel - The staff make you feel like family and welcome you back every time you return to the property.

A 1950's hotel, enclosed with private gardens and a lovely half sunk pool - an oasis in the middle of the city. Surrounding the pool their are plenty of sunloungers and cabanas which are perfect to relax in after a day in Phnom Penh. Sun or shade there is a spot in the garden for everyone.

Location is great - the property is down a private road that has security 24/7 due to the embassy. There are plenty of restaurants and amenities within walking distance and the hotel can get you a friendly tuk tuk wherever else you need to go.

The rooms are beautifully decorated and spacious. Our only grumble would be our shower was over the bath and wasn't very powerful and not a 'rainfall' shower as described & The wifi is also a little slow but neither of these points would discourage us from staying again.

The breakfast was a la carte and you picked from a menu - plenty of choice and very tasty and it was a great start to the day sitting in the garden having coffee.

A brilliant stay and we cannot thank the staff enough.

Outstanding! The staff here go above and beyond and are THE friendliest. Beautiful spacious rooms, very clean. They have thought of all the little touches- raid in the room if needed, flip flops for the pool, hair dryer, vanity kits, robes, safe, minibar, kettle, etc.
Great pool, garden area with lounges and a few shaded cabanas by the pool. We hit some snags at our hotel before here and making the decision to come here was the best thing we ever did... they were so gracious to us and helped us with absolutely everything we needed. They upgraded our room for our anniversary and we had a late flight and permitted us to stay in our room until 530pm even though checkout is at noon. They'll bring bug spray over to you if dining outside (to lovely jazz music I might add) and give you a personal sendoff in your taxi. This place made us feel like royalty.

Tip: if flying out of Phnom Penh give yourself LOTS of time to get to the airport (Traffic is nuts). It took us 1.5hrs to get there from this hotel even though the hotel is less than 9km from the airport

Great Air Con, best Hotel in Phnom Penh.

While on a 3 night stay in Phnom Penh we ran across this magnificent hotel unintentionally. We started at the Aquarius, on the recommendation of a friend, but had trouble sleeping through the night as the temperatures would only drop to 25-27C and would go no lower. After trying two additional rooms at the Aquarius all with the same problem, we relocated to Iroha and are so happy we did.

The location of this place cannot be beat. Though in the city, it is relatively close to everything and can be easily reached by the onsite Tuk-Tuk (separate charge) or by using PassApp or Grab (which the hotel will also help you with). Breakfast is made to order and is Excellent. Lunch at the site was also excellent. Swimming pool is excellent. Grounds are Excellent. Air Con is excellent...you are probably seeing a trend by now in that everything is excellent. There is a reason this is rated as the top stay in Phnom Penh.

Also a rarity in Asia, is the fact that this hotel/resort takes a highly progressive green approach and has paper straws, glass water bottles in the room, and natural bug spray. It felt great after staying in an hotels/resorts for 20 days to see a hotel in SE Asia implementing a green approach in an area that is literally drowning in plastic waste.

If I'm back in Phnom Penh, I would stay here in a heartbeat, without hesitation and I hope you will do the same.

Upon arrival we were greeted by the Japanese owner, a very nice man who was polite and engaging without being obtrusive, the perfect host.
The owner knew we had booked our room months ago and informed us he wanted us to have a nice room. He had upgraded us from an $85 per night room to a Villa room at a nightly rate of $130 without any additional charge whatsoever. My wife and I thought this was an extremely generous gesture which we fully appreciated.
First impressions were very favourable indeed. An excellent spacious room with a king size bed, a lovely swimming pool set in a well maintained lush garden area, and then we met the staff! Every single staff member was courteous, helpful and above all happy and smiling.
I enjoy bird watching and photography and the hotel gardens attract quite a number of different species of bird. This hotel is definitely an oasis in the middle of the city and not what one would expect.
Finally we come to the food. They say you should leave the best until last! The breakfast was very good and set you up for the day. The dinner menu was very good and we ate at the hotel on both of the nights we stayed there. On the first night we had a green curry and on the second we tried the chicken amok. Both dishes were excellent and we were both well pleased with our dining experience at this hotel.
Well that about wraps it up, a glowing report by any standard but nonetheless an honest and genuine review.

What a great little place! Great staff, beautiful garden and rooms! The Japanese owner is super friendly and try to accommodate his guests. The hotel restaurant is also good and the complementary breakfast is healthy and yummy. Great value to consider the room rate. Just a minior issue: water pressure was quite low that it took a while to wash my hair. When I cone back again, I will definitely stay again.

The most jaw dropping customer service we’ve had anywhere. ALL members of staff (and the owner) going out if their way to greet you with genuine smiles at all times, always looking for ways to help you- just amazing. Front desk even gave us a mobile phone to use during our stay so we could contact them if we encountered any language difficulties or needed a taxi/tuktuk back to the hotel - above & beyond any of our expectations! The hotel is beautiful. Great pool, lovely room, tasty fresh cooked breakfast - very quiet despite its location close to the centre of Phnom Penh. Honestly can’t fault it. While I do accept that we stayed in the best room they had - it really was exceptional.
The room is huge - with separate lounge and sleeping areas - plus a huge (even with room for more than two in the tub if that's your wish) bathroom. And a huge balcony overlooking the pool.

Service was welcoming and exceptional in every way. The owner is Japanese - and he keeps an eye on everything that is going on in a very non-intrusive way - his \"office\" is the reception area. He'll be the Asian looking guy sitting on his own somewhere around reception armed with his laptop. He'll always come and speak to you to ask how you day was.
Food was so good there wasn't really any temptation to go out in the evenings.

The local neighbourhood is good - there are many embassies around - so it's secure, and quiet.
One of the most pleasant hotel stays we have ever had - we wish we had been staying there longer, and would have no hesitation at all about going back.

I spent a month in Phnom Penh in 2018 and, of the hotels I stayed at, this hotel was my favorite due to the lovely ambiance and quiet location. I loved the decor and the staff was supremely helpful. The morning breakfast was excellent. One note: The owners and staff will strike up conversations with you during breakfast and when you leave or return to the hotel. If you are a private person, this may feel intrusive.

Wow!! This place is a gem!!! You get a chocolate on your bed at least once, an orchid on the bed every night and personal service. The owner/manager comes around during the complimentary breakfast to speak to you. All the staff makes an effort to speak to you and as if that's not enough they wa

We enjoyed another wonderful stay at iRoHa Garden Hotel & Resort during the Water Festival. The Festival viewing tickets were very helpful and made for a wonderful experience at the Festival. The hotel staff is always attentive of the needs of the guests. It was nice speaking with Kuroda and the staff to learn about Phnom Penh or suggestions for your daily activities. The laundry service was very quick and the morning breakfast with soft jazz in the background while eating was very relaxing. The garden is well maintained and just adds to your eating experience. The rooms are always clean and tidy. Their transportation service drivers were nice and understanding during a very busy time with traffic in Phnom Penh during the festival. I would highlt recommend staying at iRoHa Garden Hotel & Resort when you visit Phnom Penh. We will when we return to Phnom Penh.

The iRoHa is indeed a hotel gem. Not only is the hotel staff exceptionally nice but also most helpful and competent. The by the á la card poolside breakfast is simply outstanding. The hotel's atmosphere is both relaxing and authentic Cambodian at the same time. The rooms are tastefully furnished and very big. Mr Kuroda, the most charming owner of the hotel, takes his time to talk to his guests individually and shares his adventure stories as well as his profound happiness. We really enjoyed staying at this hotel and strongly recommend it.

When you walk into iRoha, you step into an alternate reality that’s very unlike the Phnom Penh you see on your ride from the airport to here (it was my very first time in the city and the country). There is a big, blue swimming pool as soon as you enter, outdoor picnic tables around the pool, fresh flowers on every table and wooden fixtures in the room that will make you feel nostalgic for a time and place you’ve maybe never experienced. It's away from the hustle bustle of the main city and I totally loved that about iRoha!
I stayed at their Theato Villa for about 12 nights and it was a truly relaxing and comfortable experience. The staff went out of their way to ensure everything was in order at any given point in time. They have a beautiful breakfast selection, the owner/staff always come to you and engage you in conversation, recommend places to see and just generally ask about your well-being.
I had to leave for Siem Reap in the middle of my stay for a few days and I wanted to extend my booking by a day and they were impeccably accommodating about these changes. They offered a free adjustment - gave me the same villa for my additional day's stay and even offered me a free dinner before my flight back home. I was supremely impressed by their hospitality. That, and the fact that I left here feeling extremely satisfied for a very reasonable price.

Boutique Hotel in quiet area of the city

Designed by the Japanese owner and located within a quiet neighbourhood of Phnom Penh close to many embassies, the Iroha Garden boutique hotel is an oasis of calm and greenery amongst the bustle and noise of Phnom Penh. The rooms and gardens are beautiful and decorated by furniture and traditional artworks sourced by the owner from across Cambodia. The staff are extremely welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable about what to see and where to go in the city. The menu offers a range of traditional Cambodian and western dishes (the latter keeping two older teenagers very happy) and was all freshly cooked and delicious.
I have no hesitation in highly recommending Iroha Gardens boutique hotel.

Amazing stay

Amazing hotel with great service. The staff are well trained. Hot breakfast in the morning is excellent with many different choices. It's situated next to a few embassies, so safety is not a concern. The hotel owner came out of the hotel and said thank you and good bye to me.

Besides the beautiful and very comfortable room, the hotel staff and owner are beyond impressive. We got caught in the rain (heavy downpour that flooded the streets) and they were waiting at the end of the street with umbrellas and flip flops to help get us in safe! I wish they had iRohas everywhere!

It’s just fantastic and more

It’s a fantastic place to be the staff are brilliant so lovely and supportive it’s a true oasis with a modern twist particularly in its design of spaces and the gardens
We will certainly return sooner than later as we are confident that the management believe in continued improvement which after our stay will be a very hard task ! Thanks again what a great experience including the well thought out menus - it’s a real treat

Nice hotel very helpful pleasant staff the owner was very hands on . One of the main reason for booking this hotel was because it had a nice pool that I thought would be nice to do a bit of sunbathing in between sightseeing but unfortunately there wasn’t any where to sunbathe as all sun beds in the shade would of been nice to have a choice

It was a very pleasant stay be it just a short weekend getaway with the missus. The owner, Susumu-san, lives on the property and is very involved with all aspects of the resort and as well with our stay. He and his staff will go above and beyond to satisfy needs of the guests. Good english speaking staff and also good interaction.

It's a relatively small (compared to hotel chains) and quiet location. Transportation can be easy with use of local tuktuks and uber. It's an excellent hideout from the bars and restaurants along the river.

Traffic in Phnom Penh can be a nightmare so definitely plan ahead. This is speaking from experience.

Peace in the bustle of Phnom Penh

Had a fantastic stay here. Staff was just exceptionally friendly and helpful and really makes this hotel shine. Excellent breakfast every morning. Nice, quiet room with a great shower. Easy tuk tuk ride wherever you want to go in the city.

Unique place to stay

Had a couple of lovely nights in Iroha Gardens. Very friendly staff who go out of their way to help and chat. They love to practice their English.

Rooms are huge and very comfortable. Air conditioning works very well and we had mosquito nets in the room but I didn't see a mozzie.

Pool area is lovely and beautifully maintained.

Breakfast is quite basic but fresh.

Coming back at the end of the day we were always welcomed like family. Staff also helped organise transport out the front.

Hotel is in a very quiet area (no traffic noise from mopeds) in a diplomat area.

Top boutique hotel

Very friendly staff. We were welcomed from the moment we arrived. The owner came over to meet us at our first meal. He came around each morning at breakfast to chat and make sure we were happy. The waiting staff at meals were so gracious and accomodating. The owner apparently treats the staff very well helping further their educations. The boutique hotel was down a private street and the pool and gardens were lovely. When we left, the owner and some staff came out to the street to send us off. A lovely touch I've never experienced before. A very nice place to stay! Highly recommended!

Great Hotel, Great Staff, Grat Stay!

A bit expensive for local standards but very cheap by western standards. It's a really nice hotel with a great pool and garden and amazing staff. For a relaxing stay, I highly recommend this place. The owner is also very nice and greets you personally during check-in if he is there.

An oasis to relax in!

Friendly, welcoming, polite and helpful staff. Beautiful gardens and pool. Staying over Khymer New Year meant the local restaurants and cafes were closed but this didn't matter as the food was delicious and reasonably priced at Iroha with a lovely atmospheric setting by the pool. We had a comfort room which was spacious with a comfy firm bed but was based at the back of the hotel overlooking wasteland. Rooms overlooking the pool had balconies but cost more.

My husband and I originally booked 1 night. We arrived past midnight and the night shift staff was amazing! They treated our check in as if it were the middle of the day. We were thirsty and starving and they had plenty of complimentary water for us and even recommended a great Ramen restaurant right behind the hotel that was open until 1. By the next morning we were ready to extend for the remaining days of our trip. The room was beautiful! The staff was perfect! The well manicured grounds transport you to a tranquil state. The breakfast and lunch we had were excellent. I cannot say enough good things. We cannot wait to come back! The Iroha is a modern gem of a resort!
