Life Saver After a Scam – Great Place but Some Issues

This place was a savior! My previous hotel booked through Expedia was a scam, and I was able to book this apartment at the airport. They responded immediately with check-in instructions, and I checked in right away—huge thanks to Expedia and the staff here!

The apartment had some downsides—pillows were too big, and the sheets felt like nylon, so I ended up sweating. There wasn’t enough toilet paper, and while they refilled the hand soap, we had to buy our own toilet paper. The bathroom carpet was just a tiny brown towel, which didn’t feel very comfortable—I had to wash it before using it. Also, they only provided 4 towels for our 5-day stay, so we had to buy soap and do laundry ourselves.

On the plus side, the location is great! There’s a pharmacy on the corner when you exit the building to your left, and a supermarket and 7-Eleven just one block to the right.

Despite the small issues, it worked out well in a tough situation, and I’m grateful for the quick help!

It was a decent property. Good size apartment style accomodations. Simple basic and clean. Best feature is the location close to tourist attraction and various food options just outside the door. The pool and sauna is a bonus. On the rooftop with a view. That deserve a 5star on its own. All the staffs are super sweet.

So so, lots of building work going on….

Tried to give me one bed apartment which was next to building site. Far too noisy. Bad service to even try putting a guest in such a apartment. Staff not very competent, eventually had to get hotels.com to contact manager to get moved.

Property is okay, good location, but really nothing special. Pool area is not so great. Gym is okay and usable. Lots of building work going on in local area so be sure to get apartment on a high floor.

Great area, walkable to many things like food, bar, stores etc.

Building and room was clean.

Check in experience was underwhelming; front desk didn’t communicate with me but to ask for my passport. They didn’t give me any information about the amenities that the property had eg where pool, fitness room were located etc. All they did was hand me keys.

They also charged me $20 USD for a towel that they said they couldn’t wash (I disagreed) and we settled at $10 USD.

I don’t think I’ll be staying here again.

We booked a 2 bedrooms apartment where both bedrooms were very comfortable.

The dinning room was an empty room with no dinning table or chairs. A big empty space...

The sitting room had a comfy corner sofa with a flat screen TVs.

The kitchen had a big fridge but we barely had any crockery, pots/pans and no cutlery. The staff did their best to help but could only provide the cutlery. So we could use the kitchen only to toast bread in a pan!

The rooftop pool was nice however, there was so sun umbrellas which makes its use unbearable during the day. Best to wait until 5PM when the shade cover the loungers.

This place could be truly amazing if the staff were better trained and the rooms better appointed.

Next to building site so not worth the high rates

The building site next door is very loud and noisy so advertising soundproof rooms is false advertising.
The balcony is useless as the outlets are placed there turning it in to a sauna.
Finally the bathtub was et working and after asking twice to have it fixed the handyman left the cork out only for us to find a pile of hair underneath which probably was the cause of the problem.

Ok place to stay

Mansion 51 was fine. It wasn't a great place to stay or a bad place either. The hotel did it's job and offered some amenities like a pool, mini playground for kids, and a washing machine (no dryer). I have stayed here twice already primarily because of it's price point and proximity to family. The one good thing about it is that it is walking distance to a lot of Western food places if you want that (Carl's Junior, Burger King, Domino's Pizza, Starbucks, etc.)

Fantastic view of the Fireworks for New Years Eve.

We were upgrade to a two bedroom apartment on the 8th Floor which was a pleasant surprise. The apartment needed tea towels for drying the dishes and hand towels in the bathroom. In Phnom Penh construction is everywhere and next door there is a large apartment block being constructed, it may end up being taller than Mansion 51, which will block the view for apartments (02). The construction starts at 8am and they continue to work under lights until 8.30pm. They finished earlier on New year's Eve 6pm. Were back the next day at 8am. The rooftop was fantastic for the fire works on New Years Eve. Our apartment was huge and we loved sitting on the balcony admiring the fantastic view.

Great location. Noisy with insect issues.

The hotel was great and picked me up from the airport. Unfortunately when I was there, construction was nearby and noisy as to be expected. The location was great and nearby a lot of restaurants and bars, but that also added to the noise that could be heard from the room. The major disappointment was that there were LOTs of insects in the room. A couple is understandable due to the nature of the environment, but it was a crazy amount of insects everywhere in the room. They were nice enough to move me to a different room which was didn't have any noticeable insects, but it took a very long time to get that room ready and since I arrived for a late checkin, it seemed even longer. The room they gave me was not as nice as the room I had originally reserved. They told me that it was the same but when I checked online, the cost was a lot less. They didn't refund the price difference. Overall it was a decent hotel with nice people. Hopefully the insect issue was just a fluke.

Mansion 51 turned out to be the right place for my 7 day stay. The room was absolutely huge. Two bedrooms, two full bathrooms (tub in each w/shower). Lovely kitchen and full size living room. Air con worked flawlessly. And the rooftop pool was just what you needed after a long day of exploring Phnom Penh. I also used the hotel’s transfer to and from the airport. Very prompt. I have to recognize the staff for their professionalism and great attitudes.

You won't be disappointed

Mansion 51 looks like an apartment/condo building with unrented/unsold units being offered as hotel rooms. The room we had had 2 separate bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. The kitchenette was decent with a full sized fridge, but there were hardly any cooking utensils or pots/pans. There were very few cups/glasses and silverware. The rooftop infinity pool was great. We never saw anyone up there while we were up there every evening. The view from the pool was nice. There are a couple of decent restaurants nearby and a decent sized convenience store a block away. The unit was clearly lived in previously with a less-than-professional job of drywall repair and painting. But, overall, I would definitely stay here again. The AC worked very well. The unit was spacious. We didn't use the stove, TV, or dining table, but we did relax on the L-shaped couch. The staff is friendly and helpful. The view from our room was of an empty lot that used to have some type of building on it.

The WiFi isn't the greatest, but I didn't expect blazing speeds while in SE Asia. You are given a code specific to your room, but I found connecting to different room's WiFi in different parts of the apartment works even better.

While Mansion 51 isn't in the heart of the tourist attractions, it's a pretty quick tuk-tuk ride to get there. Sambat (aka Richard), a tuk-tuk/taxi driver, is always waiting outside. He's very polite, professional, and we found him to be a great value. We used him for 3 days.

Mansion 51 was absolutely perfect for our family. The property was very contemporary and beautifully maintained. The rooftop pool and gym were exceptional. Mansion 51 staff are very helpful, supportive and always graciously meeting you at the door with a smile. Thank you Mansion 51 for being our home away from home in Phnom Penh.

Staff don't speak much English and they have no idea about breakfast or room service. The pillows apparently were not washed and had dried recent bloodstains on them. Rooms were of good size however the washing machine has no dryer function so it was a bit pointless.

Great stay except the breakfast

We stayed in an apartment on the 1st floor which in practice is on the third floor. The apartment was great apart from a few details. The light in the cabinet that is supposed to go on when you open it turns on and off all the time. The fridge was not as cold as one could expect. The safe didn't work at first but the staff fixed that quickly. We really enjoyed the rooftop pool, clean and well-maintained. One thing that was a bit of a disappointment was the breakfast. We booked including breakfast and because it was during Chinese New Year and the regular restaurant was closed we had to go to a restaurant around the corner and the breakfast choice there was very limited (not buffet). In practice we paid 7,5 USD per person for a breakfast that would have cost 5 USD. Overall we were very happy with our stay, apart from the breakfast.

A very comfortable stay at Mansion 51

We recently stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment for 4 nights. The room was modern and the living room, kitchen/dining area and the bedroom were very spacious. The bathroom was also excellent and a large size. The staff were very good especially the doormen. There was always a tuk tuk available outside to take you anywhere that you need to go.

Clean and pretty, but disappointment

As mentioned in other reviews, the rooms they rent for short term guests are all in lower floors, which of course sucks. All you see is wall of the next building, kind of horrible. Also the room I booked was VERY DIFFERENT in pictures than in reality, which was huge disappointment. We were having our 1 year anniversary AND having our honeymoon (finally!), and neither of those were noticed anyway, which again was disappointing.

The breakfast place was on the other building near by and they never had anything we were trying to order. Also not too many healthy options available.

The room was spacious and I liked the interior, I just really wish we would've get what we thought we booked. Also there was a huge rain storm one night and our master bedroom was flooding. Didn't get any refund nor anyone was interested when we told about this. Half of the night went listening family upstairs stressing about the water damage too (so there goes the hopes of the soundproof room also....)

Wouldn't book again.

Lovely staff, apartment and stay

Our stay at Mansion 51 was comfortable and pleasant. We had a 2 bedroom apt that was spacious and comfortable. The pool and steam room were fantastic! Pillows were a bit hard and high, but still slept well. We had a little issue with fridge not staying cold, but service folks were timely. Wonderful staff, great location--BKK. I will stay again and highly recommend.

Fantastic Stay at Mansion 51

I loved this hotel and would absolutely go back! The room was huge and very stylishly decorated. There were 3 balconies, all with different beautiful views of Phnom Penh (some of the best photos I took on my trip were from the room!). The beds were very comfortable, the bathrooms were spacious and modern, and the living area was great. It was really nice to have a laundry option at the end of the two week trip. The pool and gym facilities are great, and the breakfast in the morning was nice. The area around the hotel was good, there is a huge shopping mall nearby, great restaurants/bars, and touktouks linked up outside the hotel to bring you anywhere you need to go. The staff of the hotel is SO friendly and helpful. I will absolutely be back. Thanks, Mansion 51!

Great value for money (new serviced apartments)

Brand new serviced apartments in a good location. Rooms are spacious and clean. Large and nice bathrooms/showers. Hotel staff are friendly.

The only downfall is that there is only one lift servicing the building. Depending on the time of day you could be waiting 2-3 minutes for the lift (if you chose not to use the stairs)

New Hotel, Rooms are still fresh!

The few days that we had spent in Mansion 51 were awesome. The hotel is brand new so the rooms were in perfect shape, the only thing lacking was that the reception area seemed it was still under construction (exposed drywall). If you don't mind the asthetics of the lobby and you are interested in a great hotel at a good price, this is the spot. Tuk-Tuk drivers and taxi drivers still do not know that the place exists, so it is a bit challenging to get home unless you have a working GPS, though like I said before, I would stay there again. Anytime!

We went as 3 friends on a holiday getaway, location is quite good as it's away from the hustle and bustle of the main city area but 10-15mins away by tuk tuk to all the main tourist sights and supermarket. Plenty of cafes, local food, trendy bars and international food outlets within 10 mins walking distance. 24h front desk Concierge service is friendly and helpful. there is a cafe attached to the service apartment and breakfast was simple but yet delicious ! High recommended if you need a large apartment.
