The parking lot is connected to a closed resturaunt and is incredibly hard to find at night due to no lighting. Our room reeked of pot and cigarettes from the get go, they offered us a new room but there were no more available with a whirlpool tub in it. The room itself could have used more cleaning, but other than that the stay was great.

Where & When: Days Inn, Birch Run, Michigan, on Friday, December 12, 2025 , reservation #91038EE019186. We finally pulled in late after working all day and driving five hours, so let's call the official start time \"The End of a Very Long Day.\"
The Approach: Forget a driveway, you've got a choice between a \"ski slope\" or a \"toboggan run.\" Then there was the side lot, a \"monster of a hole\" that tried to eat the car. We barely escaped and had to use a back entrance.
Outside Decor: Found our way in only to navigate a thrilling, ice-and-snow-covered sidewalk.
Check-in: The one bright spot! Honestly, the most pleasant interaction of the whole miserable affair.
Room \"Aroma\": Opening the door released a BOOM of \"I have no idea\" smell—a sophisticated blend of cigar smoke, weed, mildew, and just a hint of eau de pee.
Pre-Bed Prep: Before daring to sleep, we did a full bed-bug inspection, stripped the sheets, and emptied an entire can of disinfectant. Travel pro move, but still a terrible sign.
The Bathroom of Horrors:
The doorway was so narrow, a walker wouldn't stand a chance.
Looked up and saw what appeared to be \"Cousin IT\" living in the fan box (a.k.a. ceiling mold or just that much filth).
More mold around the toilet, a collapsing shower curtain, and peeling paint.
The shower pressure was so weak, a man with a prostate problem could have peed harder.
Electric Grievances: Most of the outlets were so worn out we had to use a Christmas gift as a doorstop.

Got 3 rooms. My daughters toilet bubbled over onto the floor while we were at dinner. Her door had a broken lock and the toilet paper was used not changed. The second room next door her toilet bubbled over as well. Our room literally smelled like an ash tray. And a very long black hair was on one of the pillows and were both blonds. The shower water did not work so no water at all. Never again.

The first room we were put in was freezing cold in the middle of the night so we called the front desk and they were gracious and moved us quickly to another room. While the heat worked in that room you could see gaps in between the door and the wall and feel the air flowing through it. We had to keep the heat at 80* just to keep a sleep able temperature. The front desk staff was friendly, helpful and professional. The rooms were not in good repair.

After getting heated they called someone and they did indeed have one. No communication there obviously. They told me I could check out and leave and find somewhere else to go. 😳 I stay in Birch Run every year, this hotel is off my list. Rude

Beds in Rm 119 had mattresses that were springy; pillows had no support and should have been replaced years ago and were half the size of a normal pillow; sink was slow draining and dirty water would not drain immediately; shower spout diverter stuck in shower mode so could not fill tub up to have a bath; bedding only had thin comforter and should have been thicker and have more weight to it; water pressure in shower very weak even when shower head was adjusted; stain on one of the bed sheets; and hair from previous guests in tub, shower, sink and room in general; complimentary breakfast only had sliced bread with no bagel or english muffin or any other option. Spend the extra money and stay elsewhere. This hotel was not worth the money.

Jasmine at the front desk was the rudest person I have ever encountered in my years of traveling. Heat didn’t work was my problem. Did not have maintenance after 5 that was my problem. Two towels in a room with a capacity of four and when we asked for additional we were once again greeted with anger from Jasmine. Breakfast staff excellent. Manager knew about our issues and not a single person offered an apology just for the inconvenience. Hotel is going through changes and renovations needs work lots of work. Would not recommend.

After reading a few reviews and the original drive by... that corner of buildings appeared a bit sketch. We were a bit nervous about our choice. The main building (Americinn?) Was vety nice and staff were very friendly. Very bare bones room but a decent place to stay for a night. Breakfast was a nice surprise, especially the gal who was in charge of stocking the area. She was filling/cleaning and very attentive to all of us. It was very refreshing. Don't see that that often at hotel breakfasts. We would choose to stay there again.

She could not show me where to find that policy. I asked to use the phone to find another hotel but she would not me use it because its hotel policy.

The room needed alot if repair. It smelled of frsh pain and we had to buy deoderizer to stay.The AC did not work correctly. It only gad an on and off switch gerryrigged unto piwer. Mattress was superfirm like most motels.it was clean enough to stay in. Probably wont book there again.

The only reason this property rated even one star was the person behind the counter. She was excellent. The room smelled. The A/C smelled. The frig was on the floor and the microwave sat on top. There was a desk with no chair. The elec plugs were so old they wouldn't hold the prongs. I didn't realize a towel could be see-through.

The keys didn’t even work the first try, back to the lobby. Then they worked and it was like going back to 1970. There was hair on the bathroom walls. There was a door between room that was broken at one point. Speckles of sand on the sheet, or something. Could hear every word the guy beside us said. We did not even stay, went back to the lobby and canceled the room for the 2 night we were to be there. My 20 year old girls were scared to even stay there. Not sure I will get refunded my money, but we didn’t even care. Will never go back. The lady at the desk was nice at least!

Room was pretty clean just normal wear and tear. Staff was very helpful and friendly throughout checking in my stay. We chose the hotel because of location and that it was pet friendly. There was a large courtyard where my two dogs could go to the bathroom and I was able to pull my car right up to the door and park, which was very convenient. I recommend staying here for an easy - quick stay.

Well yes I reserved because price was great but after my stay I know why ! So it’s two properties not just one so at first glance it looks great The first building was beautiful . . However you check in and are told you will be in our second building ( which you can’t see until you drive back there) . Drive back to second building and it’s a run down in desperate need of updates ( honestly looks unsafe ) It was for one night so I think ok I will just deal . Well then came the bed , not sure when sheets were last changed ( crumbs and stuff ) . So slept on top of those only for someone to knock on my door two different times in middle of the night ( Obviously didn’t answer) Finally said forget it and got out of there by 7am . To which the check out person never asked how my stay was . Ya pretty sure there was a reason they don’t ask . I could tell you about condition of bathroom but, I’m sure you can make those assumptions. I would not recommend staying here and Days Inn corporate should be ashamed to have name attached .

When we went to our room my husband kept trying to open the door, it wouldnt open he had to push really hard to open it was jammed and when we got in it was difficult to pull open it was jammed both ways. I booked a non smoking room. The minute we walked in it reaked of cigarette smoke. Sheets towels everything reaked of smoke. We went back to the desk and told them about the door and cigarette smell and was told the maintenance person wasn't in but they'd tell him about it when he came in Monday morning and about the smoke smell they blamed on the man next door smoking outside and it went into our room. We asked to be put in another room and they said they didn't have any rooms available. It was later in the evening and the lot was practically empty.

Place needs an owner that apparently cares

Checked in to room. Hair all over the floor and shower. Bathroom door is literally delaminated and won’t shut as well as door handle falling off door. After reporting this. They put is in another room. I was in that room 10seconds. It was worse! As if the filth wasn’t enough, Our office chair that should be at our desk greeted us on the sidewalk when we got there. The owner/manager obviously could care less about making sure rooms are clean (a basic expectation when a guest books a room)

For a Wyndham, the set up was more of a motel 6. The floors were so dirty my foot got all black and decided to use their flower towels to navigate the room. By the end of it, let’s say, that towel is now stained of dirt. The bathroom door was also broken. Additionally ,I called about an iron and board, and they didn’t have one. Not even from the front desk. The pillows also smelt like someone slept on it prior to. It was a poor experience. But we need a temporary place to stay and needed up here.

We were not aware that there were two hotel/motels owned by one proprietor. The motel (where we stayed) did not have ice or dining available. We had to walk across a paring lot to get to the hotel which had the dining area, pool, ice machine, etc. The room itself was fine. Our door looked like it was kick at. .The lady who did the morning breakfast was very sweet and did a good job. The staff in the morning were very nice but the evening staff could cared less. We wanted to use the table and chairs to play some cards and asked if they could turn the lights on and she responded that she had no idea cause she works at night!

The staff all were very helpful and friendly. But the building is very old and run down. Desk clerk said our room was recently remodeled but it looked like only new flooring & mirror. Water stains in the ceilling. Wall cracks. Toilet would not flush anything down. Front desk said it was because it had just rained, but it wasn't even working the following morning, well after he rain ended. Toilet and tub were very old and obviously not part of a 'remodel'.

Returned to office to request a different room and was accommodated quickly and given a different room. Though this room was cleaner the beds weren’t comfy.
