The room was seemed ok, but the hallways were way too humid and had a smell to it. The most inconvenient thing was the parking. The lot for larger cars was about 1km away and I had young kids with me. When I tried to request them to confirm for pick up using the line app. I had no response. The waiting and back and forth to pick up the car wasted a lot of time.

Had a really good short stay at Kings Hotel Chiayi. It is located a short 5 mins walk from the train station which is helpful if you were taking the morning Alishan Railway or connecting to any of the other cities.
About a 10 min walk from the night market which had plenty of food options.
Breakfast was included, nice clean restaurant, plenty of food choices incl. Western. Overall highly recommend if you are passing through Chiayi and looking for a comfortable stay before or after your Alishan trip.

Staff is extremely unfriendly and not knowledgeable about the city. They refused to answer questions about local attractions. Hotel offers packets of shampoo and shower gels but would not replenish beyond their daily quota. The cleaning lady did not reinstall shower curtain after daily cleaning work. No parking is available or not in service at the time of my visit. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Stayed in room 303. Was awaken by water gushing noise around 2/3am. It was very loud and obvious as though certain water pipe has bursted. We chose this hotel for its proximity to the train station as we were taking the Alishan Forest railway next morning. It's also walking distance to a number of sights around Chiayi. The room is spacious and comfortable. There is a water dispenser in the lobby area.

One of the receptionist took us to Family Mart (7-Eleven) and help us use the booking machine to get tickets. Room is spacious. Bed is comfortable and soft. Only minor issue was bathtub is high and not easy to get in and out. Hotel is 5 mins walk to train station and bus station to go up to Alishan. Night market is 10 mins walk from the hotel. Western food outlets McDonald's and KFC are nearby.

飯店在街巷上，是電動伸降到地下室的停車場，當天6點左右抵達車很多，到飯店門口靠邊暫停下車詢問（因為又有機車又有人類站在門外抽菸，我無法全部內縮進去）急忙下車飛去大廳詢問停車的方式，接待員一個正在跟客人講話，一個接電話，一個剛跟客人講完話正在整理資料雖然客人還沒走尚未服務完，但明顯的中間適合插入一下，雖然知道這樣打岔不好，於是我上前但保持一點距離禮貌詢問不好意思請問停車....，因為怕車子暫停在門口擋人，常出國的我很明白國際禮儀，那位前台接待禮貌但語氣冰冷的直接請我等待，我只能平靜的說句好哦，但實際上內心壓力山大心急如焚（我實在不想我車後面一堆車因為我而堵塞），一句話「請幫我回頭找後面綠衣阿姨哦」其實就可以解決我燃眉之急，事實上他的做法是歐美飯店業確實有些會這樣嚴格的執行當下服務的客人，其他客人湊過來發話確實是很不禮貌的～我這樣安慰自己當下的感受，但在亞洲沒遇過，主要是亞洲的風俗文化比較接近人情的飯店式管理。但後來很快接電話小姐很快就來服務被拒絕的我了～告知我回頭的綠衣阿姨會處理停車問題，於是我道謝後飛奔去找綠衣阿姨，綠衣阿姨可能當下沒注意到我們車，所以當時不在現場，但據說我飛奔進大廳時，綠衣阿姨已經有來敲我們車車窗，其實我是覺得巷弄裡的飯店，如果注重管理與服務，了解自己飯店的缺點也了解大部分客人可能會發生的問題，或許並不一定要這麼歐美的冷漠制式，我並不覺得那位前台接待有錯，但我覺得可以做的再更好。

The location was great and close to everything. The room view was the back of a building wall. However we were only there for one night. The Wi-Fi was excellent and the bathroom clean and tidy. Very clean, friendly hotel. Close to the train station and restaurants. I was surprised by the low price, considering how well maintained it was.

The check in was quick, and the staff was friendly. The hotel was clean and comfortable. There was a previous review about the tub being 3 feet high. It’s not so high, and I could scale it easily with my bad knee. It’s maybe around 2 feet high. The only problem I had was the refrigerator wasn’t cold. That’s not good for my beer. :) Maybe you have to adjust it, but I wasn’t told anything beforehand. The hotel is located between Linsen Road and Jhonhshan Road, two of the main roads. The hotel is a 5 based on the price in my opinion. It’s nothing fancy, but it was pleasing.

This Hotel would get a much higher rating had it been more comfortable. The shower was inconvenient because it required you to scale a 3ft tube side to access it. The worst part of the room however was the bed, mattress is very uncomfortable and you can feel every movement your partner makes. Now that being said...the hotel staff are excellent. Very professional service and helpful. The breakfast was a delicious bonus.

The hotel is very old, furniture in the room aged so much that they smell badly. The chair and bed frame were also full of dust, just really disgusting. Bathroom was also quite old with a very small bathtub, the photo of bathtub shown on Expedia was deceiving! Staff at the counter were not friendly and they spoke to customers as if they hate their jobs! A really bad experience and will not stay there again!
