Staffs (including housekeepers) are friendly and check in is quick and easy. We were given complimentary vouchers with generous snacks and refill of red wine, cocktail and beer plus a violinist to entertain us at the lounge room.

The room is clean, spacious (for a family of 4 adults) and the amenities in this hotel is superb especially free laundry facilities plus hot, warm or cold water dispenser available close to our hotel room.

The location of hotel is central and within walking distance to night market.

However, the beds are too firm. My children felt like they are sleeping on the floor.

Overall, this hotel is indeed great!

I recently stayed at this hotel, and overall, it meets the expectations for a 3-4 star hotel, but there are several areas that need improvement.

The room was cleaned, but the service felt quite basic. While towels were changed and bins were emptied, the sheets were not changed, and no amenities like toothbrushes, combs, or cotton buds were provided. I also noticed a lack of extra towels.

Breakfast was underwhelming; there was one table of food,l that was dark and uninviting. The VIP lounge was subpar as well, with only house red wine available as alcoholic drink and snacks like meat, cheese, and popcorn that looked stale.

Service was acceptable and polite, but nothing stood out as exceptional. Overall, while my stay was satisfactory, I believe there’s significant room for improvement to truly elevate the experience.

The rooms could use updates. They have been maintained, but you can tell they are in need of updates. The molding was cracking in the room we stayed in and the carpet was worn. The couch also had some stains on it.

Most of the staff are friendly and providing professional service. We stayed here even with free drink and snacks from VIP bar and eco-friendly straws. It's an eco-friendly hotel, they suggest customers to bring your own toiletries and laundry bags, and they provide drinking machines on each floor instead of bottled water. And it's located close to the downtown and the night market. It's good to stay there on weekdays with parking space.

I still have some advice for my room and hope this hotel can improve - spring bed quality was too poor, after a night of sleep, the bed was still sunken after we got up for a while; the water pressure of the bath water was unstable, so the water temperature was either extremely hot or extremely cold; the sink drained very slowly, and the basin was very small, so it filled up with water while I was still washing. I'm wondering if some of these problems are caused by the old building.

The carpet in the room was dirty and dusty, causing people with allergies to sneeze a lot. Washing machines are provided, but due to limited space, there aren't enough of them available, which is a shame.

I've chosen Maison de Chine to stay for vacation with family for many times. I always appreciate their service. I will still love to stay in Maison de Chine.

Good location. Safe underground parking with staff guarding the entrance. Free drinks and snacks in the lobby bar. Nicely equipped room with ample space. Good variety of food choices for breakfast and vegetarian options. The free laundry facility was a good value added feature but the two machines could not keep up with the number of guests waiting to use them. Overall it’s an above average hotel catering to international travelers.

I had 2 separate stays at Maison de Chine, one night first, then I left for a night to visit Alishan and came back for one more night at this hotel.
The first night, they gave me a room on the 5th floor, it was one of the old rooms, which has not been renovated in many years. It felt too humid and the old carpet wasn't pleasant. Not at all what I would expect from a 4-star hotel.
For my second stay, I got a room on a higher floor that was recently renovated, and it was so much better.

Otherwise, the hotel is conveniently located near the night market and train station. They graciously held my luggage for a day while I was visiting Alishan.

Very nice location just into city centre. Walkable to restaurants, night markets and shops. Supervised underground parking. Nice big room with nice bed. Bathroom with nice toiletries suitable to the hardness/softness of the water. Nice touch with working fridge and drinks, and daily Happy Hour in the Lobby bar with free canned drinks and snacks. Very convenient to Expressway system. An excellent hotel overall.

Nice hotel in convenient area

We stayed on the third floor of the hotel, which has unique Japanese-style rooms. That was our favorite part, and we even had Japanese food delivered to the hotel so we could eat at our floor table. The location is also very convenient, within walking distance of Hinoki Village and the train to Alishan. The breakfast was just ok. My kids liked the lunar new year wish activity in the lobby.

Perfect location, good staff, but it’s a very old and out dated hotel , of course except the front lobby. Once when I entered my room, I can felt a strong smelly odour filled in the room, despite staff put in an air cleaning machine for me, but the out date old smell were still there. I probably wouldn’t go back unless they will update or remodel the place.

Nice breakfast; good for brief transfer to Alishan

Location is close to night market and railway station, which makes it a good transit for Alishan/ other places from Chiayi.
The room is comfy; breakfast is buffet served on top floor, nice panoramic view and good selection of food. Definitely recommend to other travellers.
