Stayed for just one night during a layover in Lisbon. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the city. The building is historic and full of character, yet the room was spotlessly clean. The bed was fresh and comfortable, with plenty of hot water, and thoughtful touches like a hairdryer and toothbrush were much appreciated.

Room was very clean, with modern amenities and a great view. If there was a negative it would be the joke of an elevator that could not carry me up or down the 3 flights (it barely could lift my luggage, which I had to run up said three flights to make sure some did not take them). The storage room was also very unsafe, being that it was in the middle of a flight of stairs and one could easily tumble down the stairs wrestling a heavy bag out of the room, the door to which was maybe 4 foot high.

Over-priced, & basic at best. Poor rooms, bad beds and we had to request curtains ! Cold \"hot food\" and fruit that was left out for days, possibly weeks on end. Shower roulette was off you'd get any hot water, or maybe just burn.

The room itself, while small, was bright and fresh, and I loved the little balcony. Bathroom was stylish but the shower space was too small, and why is the soap dispenser at knee height?

Also would benefit from a toilet roll holder and towel rail or at least hooks.

Yes the elevator is unique, and once is enough.

Night time noise really didn't bother me, but the construction noise from 6:00 am did, and they seemed to make the worst noise before 06:30. How the local authorities permit this beats me. Luckily it only affected me one morning.

Would stay here again, but a few small changes would make a big improvement

The hotel’s location is perfectly set in the heart of downtown, which was great for shopping and eating, however, it was an issue with uber! They either couldn’t find us or asked us to walk blocks to be picked up. Also, the closest street is a tight one-way road, so if Someone is making a delivery as you’re waiting for Uber ( this happened to us on our way to the airport- 2 other uber drivers cancelled our trip because it was a hassle to get to us. We ended up changing our room after the second day. The room had a fowl smell and no view. We then had to take our bags and belongings to their luggage room which is located on the stairs between floor 0 and 1! A lot of heavy lifting. They have a tiny elevator which takes a whole minute to go up one level. I don’t like tight spaces so had to take 70+ steps to get to the fourth floor: their staff is friendly and helpful!! One other misleading information was that on day 1 they told us breakfast is included but hit us up with a bill on check-out. Overall, it was an ok hotel experience.

We got the upgraded room option including breakfast and we were really glad that we did. The room had a comfortable queen size bed with a large TV (with satellite service) and a nice bathroom. A/C also came in handy when the room got hot as the weather in Lisbon was great. Location is excellent with a lot of restaurant and shopping options very nearby and the nice continental breakfast and coffee were quite good. Overall very satisfied with our stay. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

I will write an honest review on this… the room does not look like the pictures… not sure if they are under construction/ renovations but it really doesn’t look like any of the pictures.
the property has an elevator that doesn’t work very well (or all floors).
The room wasn’t very clean either (dirty walls, doors with stains and even sink had dry paint all over it). Bedsheets had some stains on it too…
The staff was nice and friendly… the property location is amazing. Close to all the touristic attractions.
I didn’t want to give it less stars because the location is truly the best part about this…

Title: Disappointing stay – hygiene and maintenanc

Review:
Unfortunately, my stay at this hotel was quite disappointing. The bathroom had a persistent sewage smell that was very unpleasant every time I returned to the room. The shower area had visible black mould along the edges, and the towels provided were stained yellow, which raised concerns about cleanliness.

The air conditioning was also not effective – even when set to 16°C, the room remained warm and stuffy. The view from the window was of the air conditioning units of the building across, which didn’t help the overall atmosphere.

The lift used by guests looked unfinished and felt like it was still under construction, adding to the sense that the hotel was poorly maintained.

Additionally, the bathroom door handle was broken and could not be locked, which was quite inconvenient.

The only redeeming quality was the location – it’s very convenient and centrally located, making it easy to get around the city.

I had hoped for a more comfortable and clean experience, but unfortunately, these issues made my stay far less enjoyable than expected.

We checked in and were so disgusted by the conditions that we abandoned our reservation (no refund) and found another hotel to stay at. My wife was in tears at the thoughts of sleeping there. Reprehensible conditions. The elevator is unsafe (no way it meets any building safety codes.) the place needs to be completely gutted to make it suitable for guests. Front desk had zero care for our concerns. Had vibes of a homeless shelter. Description on Expedia is totally misleading.

Nice room with A/C and a little balcony. Free soap, shower caps, razors, toothbrush and slippers. Towels and extra blankets provided. Overall pretty nice and the staff were very friendly. Right in the middle of all the restaurants and souvenir shops so great location for people who want to walk around and enjoy the night life. Only downsides are the stairs if you're on the upper floors (lots of stairs and they're pretty crooked), the noise (because of the great location, that means lots of tourists and street noises) and the mattress is hard (springs hurting my hips and ribs).

We were assigned room 402. The room has one window facing at dirty area like gross view. In the washroom, when we opened the shower door you wouldn’t believe what’s coming. It smells poop/sewer, which make you suffocated in small room. Shower head broken which didn’t stay on and no ways to shower except holding it. Room is very dated and dark. Elevator allow one person very small. If you have big luggage believe me, you don’t want to walk to fourth floor. Front desk staff were not friendly or helpful. Stay away from this hotel. Their room is nothing like the pictures. Expedia please don’t recommend this hotel anymore. This is a scam hotel. Luckily a hotel guest check out next day so I can swap to another room. Other than locations can’t think of any good of this hotel. This is the worst hotel I ever stayed and fully regret to book this hotel.

Don’t know why it gets bad reviews, the location is perfect on the corner of the rue Augusta 2min from metro and 2min from famous elevator and famous arch and square. Rooms where clean and comfortable, only downside is soundproofing 1 night we had noisy neighbours but that’s not the hotels fault, lifts tiny but greatful as wooden steps are oldy worldly ok to come down but lift was great to go up in fit me and my little boy in but took a long time to go up! Just remeber to send it back down for next people! Safe well lit area on the corner of the Main Street so felt safe as a solo woman with a 10 year old walking the food on here is great and around £30 for 2 mains and 2 cokes similar to uk pub prices in the most tourist spot lovely bakery accross the road where we got pastel de natas and a juice every morning before getting on the metro. Perfect place to stay for a busy sighting trip around Lisbon we went everywhere from this location including a trip to the coast! It’s the only flat area of the old town and with the metro 2min we could skip many of the hills although obviously did lots of steps up and down the metro! The noise issues are down to inconsiderate guests which isn’t hotel fault so can’t counteract the perfect location

A nice hotel in the walking area of downtown. The gentleman working at check-in was absolutely wonderful and very helpful with restaurants and activities. The beds were very comfortable. The shower was fine once the water warmed up. Be aware there is no elevator service if you are above the fourth floor (which we were). We put our luggage on the elevator, picked it up on the fourth floor and carried it up to our floor. The location is wonderful for walking and you have access to anything you wish.

First the hotel across the street is under construction and will likely but for the next year so know that. The noise starts at 4am and goes until 5pm. The front desk people basically watched my wife struggle to get the stroller through the door. Not one person moved to help her but they did continue watching. Very odd for hotel staff customer service. Our room had prior water leak from the room above and black marks on the wall. Likely mold over all the shower if you weigh over 180lbs you would never be able to get in it. I have bigger dresser drawers than the opening of the shower doors.

It felt like a fraud and scam. I had to rent a real hotel the next morning immediately. Stairs are crooked and unsafe. No lift, only an unsafe small box freight like elevator for 1 person that goes off and stops all the time with no walls but just panels in two of its walls. Never saw anything that unsafe for a customer. The bedroom is extremely miniature. All pictures on Expedia and other platforms are a good Photoshop work. I highly discourage any customer from renting there. The receptionist lacks cleanliness and he handles your passport with greasy and dirty hands full of food whilst he is having dinner on reception area. An entire lack of competence. It was the unsafest and worst experience ever. An external agent audit should be carried out to avoid these experiences to visitors and guests.

If you plan on doing any type of remote work while staying there, recommend to seek other options. Otherwise it was fine. Although hotel is in a good location, we had issues with the facilities and staff. When we arrived after a long day of travel, there was no staff in the lobby to check us in. There was a couple ahead of us and we had to wait 10 to 15 minutes for someone to show up. We were squeezed into a double room the first night when we booked and paid for a triple room due to our room being given to another party. The elevator was tiny for one person and slow, and we also had no hot water or wifi the first night. We were moved to a triple room for the balance of our stay, but the hotel had a contractor replacing all the ac's on that floor which had no functioning ac. The contractor had to access our room for a couple of hours one day even tho we asked them to wait until we were to check out the next day. We had no ac for two days. The hotel partially compensated us by giving us free breakfast, but I wouldn't recommend the place or go back.

Hotel for small people. Room so small they felt like a cage, incredibly small bathrooms and a shower you can barely spin around in. You book a double bed, put two bags down plus carryons and you haven little to no room to move around. Rude lady at checkin with attitude. Short doorframe at the staircase that you hit your head on constantly, it is unnatural to have that short an entrance. Everything is so tight in this hotel, as if they purposely jammed in as much as legally possible.

The room was so small and the TV was so high up the wall and in an awkward position and unable to be turned which made it hard to watch TV as it was in the corner of the room. The bathroom was a joke as the shower was so small you could not bend at all and the toilet was in the corner so close to the wall you had to sit sideways and then the basin was in the way. Even though this is a 2 star you still expect a shower and toilet that can be used properly

The location was good, although very nousy on a night time early morning with restaurant owners packing tables and chairs away with no thought to the residents in the area. Unfortunately the room itself was quite run down. The tall windows didnt close properly. Chipped and flaking paint in serveral areas. No coffee making facilities. If any 'large' person stayed here they wouldnt get in the shower either. We was told we had been upgraded to a superior room!

It was a decently convenient area to stay in
but that is about the extint of the pros. Room was small and noisy and could barely use the shower it was so small. Have to sit sideways on the toilet to use it. Bathroom window wouldn't shut all the way so street noise was even louder than it should have been. \"Elevator\" only holds 1 person at a time, with no bags and takes a long time. Stairs are old, wooden and uneven making them very dangerous. Old wood floors creek with every step and you here every person coming up stairs or down the hall.

I’m not sure why I’ve seen so many bad reviews for this place. It was in a fantastic location, staff are kind and helpful. Yes the rooms are small. It’s an older historic building, and that’s what you should expect in this type of building. We knew there wasn’t an elevator, we were just hoping we weren’t on the top floor! We were on the 3rd floor, so definitely got a workout a few times a day, along with the many hills and stairs of Lisbon. If that kind of thing bothers you, or you have mobility issues, better look into an alternate place. We are in our sixties and it didn’t bother us. We may have had to take a breather halfway up on some days, but we laughed about it. The location and staff alone, is definitely worth it.

They used a very good camera because the room we had did not look like the photos . The elevator was broken again! Does it ever work ??? from what I read in other reviews . Only 75 steps to our forth floor room with heavy luggage. No compensation to be had. But I had a personal best for showering in the smallest shower in my life. the place needs a lot of work. the elevator does not work - the stairs were challenging as they seem to change as you go up. The bathroom super small - my knees touch the sink when seating on the toilet.

The hotel is conveniently located however it is an old building. The elevator is extremely slow and can only accommodate 1 person at a time so you are forced to take the stairs which seem to have some structural issues because they all slant downwards towards the middle making it feel like a fun house. There was mold along the bottom of the terrace doors but the room itself was well cleaned everyday. The breakfast very basic.

Horrible property, elevator with 1-person max capacity, the condition of the property is extremely poor, the condition of the rooms is awful and very nasty, the fifth floor don't have access to the lift and the stairs are so crooked that you hit and hurt your knees in every step, I was supposed to spend the night and we couldn't, we left that horrific false advertised placed in just hours.
Me as a Orbitz VIP member cannot recommend anyone to stay here not even homeless people, as fact Orbitz should stop promoting this place.

Overall, I’m very happy with my stay. The location was perfect to walk around and have a little bit of night life. I felt safe but I was also aware of my surroundings as it should be at any tourist place.

Not great.
Elevator is only for luggage and often doesn't work. Watch out if you have a room on a higher floor.
Breakfast is not included, not even coffee!
Rooms and basic and do the job, with air con, but have a smell. Noise isolation is bad, you can hear outside and other rooms.
Ratio price/quality is bad.

This is ah old Property that smells like mold and has an elevator that does not work
The receptionist was not there we have to wait for her 20 minutes the area is very noise and there are drug dealers outside all over the place
The whole thing feels unsafe from the state of the property to the people outside the water the linens just ugly

Hotel stay

We were booked for 3 nights. Our flight was cancelled and rebooked but we couldn’t arrive until the next day. We were charged for the night and I figured we would be but I wanted to make sure we had the room for the rest of the days. I emailed the hotel and received no response so I contacted the place I booked the room through and they also tried to call and got no answer and sent an email no response. We had to leave early in the morning of our departure day and wasn’t offered any kind of breakfast! To top it off we had no electricity so we couldn’t see to pack or shower and couldn’t see very well to leave when we asked and they couldn’t help us in any way. The room was clean and neat. So I don’t feel like they help me or it was worth my money not sure I would ever stay again
