Excellent choice near the train station. The hotel seems well run with competent friendly service. The room was clean and comfortable We enjoyed the buffet breakfast with a huge choice of nice well presented food. Everything was fresh. The coffee and tea, biscuits and ice cream in the lobby was a very nice touch. The supper buffet was an unexpected bonus, it offered quite a bit of food too.

I have very high expectation to the hotel as it listed as 4-stars hotel. However, when I got there, it looks more like a hostel. That doesn't bother me much. The room has this smell in it, and the cleanness doesn't meet the 4-stars hotel par. Overall, I'm fine with it for the amount I paid for this hotel. They do have a decent breakfast and they have free snacks, ice cream, and late snack. Their location is very close to the night market which is good.

There are a few Kindness hotels in the neighbourhood and nearby each other. For this hotel, it is convenient to walk to either Formosa Boulevard station and Kaohsiung main station. Overall, convenient and centralised. In the neighbourhood, there are eateries, supermarket and Liuhe night market. The hotel provides free flow of ice cream, cakes, tea and coffee which guest can enjoy. Also there is breakfast and dinner include too. Although the menu are pretty similar, we found it is a really great deal. We totally enjoy our 7 nights stay in Kindness hotel. Thank you.

Value for money. A1 service and staffs, hotel cleanliness and presentation. We'd gone to the wrong kindness hotel and under the heat, we walked another 10-12 there. The minute we walked in, we knew we had picked a winner. Area very central and closed to Liouhe night market , lots of eateries and 5 minutes walk to kaoshiung main train station. Everything is tops with not a thing to complain about. Room was on the 18th floor, night buffet scored high on my list as it's practically dinner. Morning buffet has a bit of western with basic cereal, toast and egg and Taiwan authentic food quite a spread, tan tzai noodle and tea eggs are very good night snack, congee, soup, cakes, ice cream. The hotel is a teaching hotel where they train ppl. We had asked the front counter to mail out postcards and both checkin and out were fast and efficient. Definitely must return.

The location of the hotel is between Formosa MRT Station and Kaohsiung Train/MRT Station. Quite convenient for taking public transport. Very close to the famous night market. The staff are very polite. Good Wifi. The free breakfast and late night dinner buffet are suprisingly good. The free self laundry service is a bonus. Will recommend to friends and relatives who are visiting Kaohsiung.

The hotel staff without exception made our stay here. They are all so smiley,friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is very stylish and the room very quiet with the night market in a street about 10 mins walk away as are the 2 metro stations - R10 and R 11. The HSR station at Zuoying is a few stops away at R16.

Love the free washer/dryer use including free detergent.
Wash/dry your clothes while having a coffee/tea in the coffee shop right by the laundromat.
Short walk to the night market.
Lots of free underground parking if you need that.
Nice free breakfast buffet on the 2nd floor.
Very big lounge on the first floor to sit and have a meeting or greet friends.
Elevators are fast.

Hotel staff were very polite and attentive. Complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner mean you could eat all day in the hotel. Free bicycles are available for hotel guests. Room was spacious and clean. The only things are that the towels were a bit old and there was no safe in the room.

We happened to stay at the same time with a large group of high school students who turned the hotel cafe into a school canteen. Not sure if it is a popular place for holding school offsite functions.

A different in taste & experience than before

Compared to previous 2 stays in the last 5 years, this time round noticed changes from good to average, good staff whom always ready to welcome guests & readily provide great advice on places of interests to visit already left the organization beside first floor game room & free ice cream corner were removed. The man at the entrance was not as helpful & welcoming as before including bad experience with an out of order air-con remote control set & noising fridge in the hotel room. Do hope the hotel management able to bring back the quality service & good old ambient including each individual to shine.

Comfortable hotel near bus station and MRT

The hotel is walking distance from MRT and bus terminus. Staff in this hotel are very courteous. Checking in and out is simple and fast on the 2nd level. They even has a corner providing free ice cream on the 1st level holding area. Room is clean with all required amenities available. The hotel provide a very wide spread of food for breakfast, including supper. The first I've came across.

But, due to its capacity, it seeme to target big tour groups from mainland China, and therefore breakfast room is very crowded and noisy. If you are travelling alone or business traveller, do not recomend this hotel, facilities are good though.

A jewel in Kaohsiung !

This hotel is within 8 min walk from the nearest MRT station and closer from many bus stations. It is tucked in a small street of a quiet neighborhood, and near a night market. There is a public lobby on ground floor that allows guests to meet visitors. The receptionists, business center and the dining hall are on the second floor. The breakfast is fantastic with both western and far eastern meals available. I was surprised to see many meat dishes served as if for dinner. The wifi connection was seamless and there seem to be many modems per floor to ensure signal coverage. I love this hotel and would not hesitate to return in the future.

It was a GREAT stay. We were a family of three and arrived with a few luggage and the staff at the door were already very friendly.
The staff at the reception, canteen and staff in all areas of the hotel in general were all exceptionally well trained and provided an absolutely welcoming and excellent service. All the staff were consistent in terms of their attitude.
They provided services that was much above expectation. A lot of things were provided for free at the hotel, free ice cream at the door, free juice, free dinner!!!
Breakfast was great! They provided you with variety and choice. Staff were so patient and willing to help. They were extremely proactive and provided service where not expected.
Dinner was not expected and when provided for free we didn't expect much. However, it proved to be yet another hugely pleasant experience. (much better than the food in the night markets!!)
Overall an extremely happy stay for a family of three. The room was spacious and nice, bathroom provided very detailed facilities.
It was a simple hotel, not a grand type of hotel but service and facilities was extremely detailed. At the top of my list if I am ever going back to Kaoshiung again. A hotel that really cannot be missed with an absolutely awesome location. In the vicinity of the Metro, Train Station and Night market. This hotel really would make your stay at Taiwan a joy in itself. Would be even better if it had a proper gym but this fact does not affect the hotel's quality!!!

Great location near MRT station (where Light of the Dome is), clean room, excellent service from front desk (help to suggest places to visit/ eat), restaurant (allow us to change our snack coupon for use after checkout), housekeeping (bring extra towels promptly), free ice cream throughout the day, afternoon tea/late night snack, buffet breakfast of sufficient variety, accede to our request of higher floor (hence further away from the tourist groups). This was a great find...we will return. Very short walk from MRT (subway) made it vert convenient for our stay. Close to night market. They have bikes you can use around the area, a game room to entertain little kids and teens ( foos table). The beds are comfy, room was very clean. Breakfast had typical and wide assortment of both Chinese and western fare. Hotel staff spoke English and helped us with a couple tourist attraction questions. Check out Cijin island (5 min ferry ride) when here, rent bikes on the other side for fun and ease of moving at your own pace. Highly recommend ( I'm particular !).

Second time in Taiwan for work and a different hotel. Stayed for 7 nights
Hotel is very Chinese with very loud family groups at breakfast and in the foyer Breakfast selection was huge but very Chinese They tried to do some Western food but couldn't quite get it right Not a complaint thought I was in their country after all. The staff generally did not speak English but they tried very hard to help me whenever I needed help. They were all very friendly and made me feel welcome.
Hotel was very clean and with the free extras like laundry, ice cream and snacks at night it is very good value for money and an made for an enjoyable stay

I have been to many hotels around the world and can confirm that this hotel offers one of the best services I have ever experienced. I was treated like a VIP ! Free breakfast and light dinner buffets (with a magician show), free bottles of water and ice cream, free laundry and free bike rentals !! The location is very convenient too as the hotel is close to the main station as well as the Liouhe night market ! I will definitely go there again any time I have a chance to visit Kaohsiung.

Best of 5 during our recent visit to ROC

Super courteous front desk staff/team! Always willing to assist with the all Chinese characters internet system. Best range of food choices at the morning breakfast buffet of the 5 hotels we stayed at thru out ROC (best go after 0830 - after tour groups leave). Free laundry facilities and ice-cream on the main street level and don't forget to check out the side garden while enjoying your ice-cream cone. Daily \"Ya-Ping Dessert\" vouchers for use between 1700 - 2300 at the 2nd floor café with their signature Christmas tree in the middle. Can be thought of as dinner - to be followed by all the food stalls at the nearby night market. Oh! There was even a (free) condom in our drawer...but not sure if provided by the hotel or left behind by previous guest?? This could be a Frist Class hotel if not for the unruly tour groups from one of ROC's neighbouring countries (this was true at all 5 hotels we stayed at).

Location is good, walking distance to train station and Liu He Night Market. The room rate comes with free mineral water, breakfast buffet and free supper buffet(and there was also a magic show!!). The room is cozy and clean. Staffs are very friendly and give us suggestion on traveling around. Though I booked 2 double room at once, yet the hotel receive 2 separate booking and arranged the rooms at different floor at first. However they manage to arrange another rooms for us on same floor at the end. Me and my family appreciate this very much.

My wife and I were in Kaohsiung recently for holidays from 25 Mar till 31 Mar 2014 and stayed at this hotel after reading its near-excellent reviews on tripadvisor. All the good things that was mentioned were true...and better (at least that was what I had experienced during my stay there). This is one hotel that really lives up to its name - showing kindness to its guests! Upon our arrival, we were greeted with very friendly staff who helped us with our luggage. And from that moment on, every staff that we met greeted us and welcome us. Amazing! You can help yourself to the free ice-cream, 24/7 (situated at Level 1). We were aware of the free breakfast (7am -10am) and snacks (5pm - 11pm), and with the very good and wide variety of choices available, we were blown away!! They even make excellent caffe latte (available during snack time)! Washing machine, washing powder and dryer are also available (with no charge!) if you want to do your own laundry. Amazing x2!! And finally, we were most impressed with the excellent service provided by the staff. If you are not sure of what to do, or where to go, just asked the friendly staff at the reception...and you will be impressed by their high level of service!! To me, this hotel is 5 Stars!! and I am definitely coming back!!

team beachvolleyball Malaysia stayed in this hotel from 26-29 march. we booked two rooms.
upon our arrival at late pm around 1145pm on 26 march, the hotel staff are readily with fast check in
and they even prepared some late supper of pizza for us is amazing service. The hotel breakfast is very good and also the 5-11pm food refreshment is totally amazing and superb. It also provide 24 hrs free ice cream and free bicycle rental which we took to tour Kaohsiung. It also have self laundry and dryer service.

We will definitely return to stay in this hotel next time.

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. The service is excellent, counter staff remembers the guests and even help shift our luggage into our room when we returned to the hotel. Breakfast and tea that was provided had an abundant variety. Icecream and coffee was available throughout the day. Staff was very helpful and made sure we were well taken care of even while we were waiting for our taxi to arrive. Even the doorman and security were polite and helpful. Highly recommended.

Hard to beat with their hospitality! RECOMMEND!

I traveled quite a bit for work and leisure, and this hotel has limitless supply of hospitality in terms of very courteous staff (everyone treats you like you are their only customer that day), as well as food (breakfast buffet and the 5-11pm evening buffet has tons of food, not to mention 24/7 \"evil\" icecream station in the lobby. To top it off, its location is great, only 7 min walk from the Formosa Blvd Station, which is right next to the Liuhe Night Market. Surrounding area is safe and quaint. Only \"drawback\" is the lack of shelves in the bathroom for personal effects, but that's nothing compared with all the good things about this place. Oh did I mention their great rates as well? This place is totally off the chart when it comes to value-for-money. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Nice hotel centrally located

Staff at every /location are all courteous and helpful. Snacks and desert bar are very good. Separate shower from the bath tub, which is modern and very functional. Breakfast is also pretty good. Subway stops, there are 2 near by, are each only 5 minutes walk away.

Great breakfast and free dessert in the evening

It is just 5 minutes walk from underground station, MeiLiTao, and from LiuHe night market, and within 10 minutes walk from KaoHsiung Main station. Room is clean and comfortable. Bathroom is separated bathtub and shower booth. All staff are polite to welcome guests. Especially to say, we had many kind of good foods in breakfast, and we had FREE desserts such as cakes, puddings and Taiwanese noodles in the evening from 5pm to 11pm!

Great hotel for family vacation!

My wife & I were most impressed by the 24 hours free ice cream & laundry facilties (the hotel even supplies washing detergent & softener) as well as the free evening tea buffet (from 5-10pm) provided by this hotel! Our room was spacious, clean & well decorated. Overall a very good hotel stay!

Nice hotel with great breakfast

The hotel looks like newly remodeled. Room has two queen size beds for a family of four. It offers free all you can eat snacks, including sweet tofu desert, noodle soup,cakes, ice-cream and etc. Breakfast included and has lots of variety.

厠內只有窄身吊櫃, 不方便放置梳洗用品。
房內 Internet 時常中斷。

名前の通り従業員の方はとても親切で、それもマニュアルに従った親切さではなく、自然な配慮がしばしば見受けられて、とても素敵なホテルでした。
コーヒーのみならず、アイスクリームは無料、コインランドリーも無料で洗濯ネット、持ち帰り用の袋も用意してあるとか、他にはないサービスもありました。
無料のレンタサイクルはありますが、借りようとしたらお水までくれました。サイクリング時の暑さへの気配りです。

気配りはとても自然だし、ちょっと他にはなかなか無い感じだと思います。

部屋も綺麗で、食事も充実してます。
また泊まりたいです。
