Pleasant hotel but unless you are attending a wedding then little peace and quiet is to be had for the hotel is predominantly geared towards functions and large wedding parties, This results in the beach and water being rammed with jet skis and groups queuing to ride on banana boats.The resultant daily noice from the boats and jet skis together with the stench of petrol and the fim of benzene on the water makes it nigh impossible during the day to avail yourselves of the beach. There were several nice pools as an alternative . Prices of food and drink were VERY expensive compared with all other establishments around in Panjim .The Heritage section where we stayed was pleasant but at times mobbed with wedding arrivals, All very colourful, but clearly not for a tourist wanting to relax for at times it was mayhem

Absolutely amazing experience. It didn't start off great. In fact, they stuffed up with a couple of things with my wife's birthday surprise and spa booking but they made up for it in ways I cannot even express. It was a delightful experience after day 1. We were there for a week and every single day felt special. Every staff member at the property makes you feel special and are very warm and courteous. I'd like to thank Muskan for her amazing hospitality throughout our stay. Despite having challenges at the airport with the indigo disruption, she managed to arrange a pick up, put us in a very good room, made my wife's birthday very special by the beach and was always available for absolutely anything and everything that we needed.

While the Property is great, it's the staff that take it to the next level so keep up the great work Taj. We look forward to staying at another Taj property very soon.

We stayed at three hotels during our recent visit to India and this was our worst stay. The staff was indifferent to my wife being sick. We also needed to change our stay and they said Expedia wouldn’t allow it but when we requested through Expedia, they said the hotel rejected the request. They said there was a doctor around but too busy to actually make it to see my wife. Our hotel room was in a location where the internet didn’t work Room 108. Just too many issues.

Had an amazing time at Taj Cidade de Goa Heritage. the property is amazing and staff are incredible. There was a big food selection around the property. Pool and pool area was clean and also have staff around to assist. There is a private beach located on property that you can walk on and have many water activates to enjoy. our Room was clean and there was also one everyday to clean and provide clean towels. The staff was super fully and helped make the stay very comfortable. Would recommend the resort for families or even a calm couples getaway.

Typical Portuguese style hotel built 30 years ago. Now a Taj property. Service not upto Taj standard especially Reception staff. Bit slow.
Nice ambiance. Rooms are real heritage type n big. Portico u hv to squeeze your self.
High tea horrible. At least they gave nice dosa. Cold tea.
One small not so exciting bar. Food ok not super.
The adjacent property Horizon is supposed to be modern with great view of the sea,
The Heritage is closer to sea n few steps away. The beach is black sand . Bit muddy to have a dip. Good enough for a morning or evening walk.

One of the best experiences of service I have had. The team were very customer focused, knew their specialisms and were able to provide a very memorable stay. Riya and Nikita were stars for the whole stay and helped us with information and any requests we had. Deepak, Nitin, Malick and Thulsi were exceptional in the café/restaurant and always very attentive and served with a smile. Chef Vidhya was another star who even cooked special meals to allow us to taste some of her great food. Dattaram ensured we were looked after throughout our stay.
The property has a great vibe and resort feel with lovely open areas and uses fans more than air conditioning, which provides that more traditional experience. The room we had was spacious and had a good view.
The high tea is wonderful and has plenty of choices which vary daily.
It was hard to fault this hotel and our stay except that we should have stayed longer!

i recently stayed in a sea facing room which was excellent, almost on sea front.. My booking was with all meals. On check-in i was told to use GRAND SALA venue for breakfast, lunch and dinner., It was difficult to locate this venue almost underground , a big hall with no windows , ventilators and natural light. It had long rows of tables .atmosphere here was very depressing.,.. after the dinner i told them of my bad experience, and only then they told me that i can
go to two other restaurants at the property, which they dint tell me on check-in.

The property was going thru renovation, which we were not aware of till we got there. They did give us good rooms away from the noise but had we known that we would not have paid so much to hear the drill machine going on all day I. The lobby and pool area.
Don’t ever eat at their restaurant called Alfama- it is HORRIBLE and overpriced.
Also, the staff at the buffet was hit or miss. The last day of checkout was bad experience, the staff member Avdesh was rude and basically refused to serve us. I was shocked.
The front desk tried to charge us twice for things that were already paid for- so do check your receipt before leaving the premises.
The hotel has a private beach with walk out rooms, which is the only reason we would stay again.

Taj Heritage has such attentive staff, wonderful food and drinks, and probably the best hidden beach in Goa. The facilities are just picturesque perfection. I took pictures from each angle of the facility and I don’t know which is best. If for no other reason, I will return just for the open air sitting deck’s stunning view - I could sit there and read all day. The grounds are immaculately kept, the swimming pool well maintained, and my room had an incredible view of the water. The facility’s security is always present yet not intrusive, if you are a family and want peace of mind. The dining options - in and outside of the room - are quality, and they’re diverse, whether barbecue, traditional Indian, or Portuguese-Goan fusion. While in Goa, I visited other nearby upscale resorts for dinners and meetings - these shared Taj’s convenient proximity to downtown, facilities, dining options, and security. The two assets that separate Taj Heritage are it’s naturally secluded beach and it’s warm and attentive staff. A local businessman was who told me about the hotel and it’s beach - he and his son visit it often. But I was even more impressed by the staff. Goans are special people with a reputation for friendliness. At Taj, I felt like the hotel used this natural resource better than elsewhere. Staff were always politely inquiring if I needed anything, making a local’s suggestions, and just talking with me about this or that. They felt genuinely engaged with the patrons.

This is one of the better stays I have had in India and kudos to the Taj Hospitality team to convert my trip from ordinary to special. Breakfast experience was just about ok on both days and team needs to work had to live up to the brand name of Taj Hospitality. Lunch experience on the 2nd day was very dissappointing but post my feedback Executive Chef Balaji and his team did an awesome job to make us feel special and this experience made my visit memorable. The location to the property is unbeatable with massive open spaces to walk around and relax. The pool area is excellent and one can spend the full day hanging around there. The range of restaurant options is excellent and one need not worry to step out of the resort if not needed. Once again I thank Balaji and his team for looking after us.

Fabulous Stay at Taj Cidade de Heritage Goa

It was a fabulous stay in Taj Cidade De Goa Heritage. the Decor of the Hotel is traditional portuguese and there is a touch of portuguese home at each and every corner combined with Goanese hospitality at its finest. Right from the point you enter the hotel there is a festivity, liveliness and happiness around with the musicians and the hostel staffs greeting you with their warmth. The care and hospitality that has been provided by this Taj hotel in particular is out of the world. I have been to many Taj properties before but this the finest so far. The live music performance starting with Mr. Ashley during the morning breakfast, the musicians who played in the afternoon and evening; the care and personal chat with the chef Amarnath Pande who attended us and literally wanted to treat us with his handmade risotto which I would have loved to taste but we missed it due to a meeting, the care by Mr. Raymond by serving us the best of Taj masala tea and each and every person who were there. We are absolutely floored. God bless you all!!! Look forward to come back over and over again to this property.

We are very happy that we booked this hotel for our stay in Goa. It is centrally located on the coast and had easy access to the beach 24X7. The hotel property, lawns, restaurants, bathrooms, health spa and gymnasium all were very clean and very well maintained, modern and upto date!!! The staff is extremely professional and almost always went an extra mile and out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and made our stay extra enjoyable. I would like to recognize the Laranja manager Rahool and front desk attendant Fiona. They both were very kind and deserve this recognition. I recently stayed at a hotel in Goa and had an amazing time. From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by the beauty and charm of the hotel. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-appointed, with all the amenities I needed to make my stay comfortable. The bed was incredibly comfortable.

The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, always going above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. They were knowledgeable about the local area and gave me great recommendations for places to see and things to do.

The hotel is located on the beach, which was simply stunning. I also enjoyed trying out some of the water activities, such as the Jet Ski, which were well-maintained and enjoyable.

The food was fantastic, with a good selection for breakfast, and the restaurant and bar offered delicious drinks and snacks throughout the day.

Everything provided was impeccable. The rooms, view, pool and extensive breakfast buffet are something that we can strongly recommend to anyone. My wife and I celebrated our Silver Anniversary with friends and family at Cidade. It was based on my nephew's recommendation - and how we loved it.

The staff was top notch in ensuring our stay was comfy, and any hiccups were remedied immediately. Service was prompt. Every staff member smiles back. Rooms are spacious. Sit-out balconies, walk-out to beach etc.

We certainly felt special. Our request for a bigger cake was adhered to. The room was decorated.

Some of the hot spots are distant from the location, but it's not too bad.

I went there with my family and stayed for two nights. The beginning was great as reception has upgraded the room without my request. The reason was to provide more comfortable stay for my two kids. I really loved the approach.

The stay was also quite comfortable. The relationship manager shailesh was too humble to deal with all small small requirements projected by me for my kids.

The food at all restaurants was good and with lots of variety. They have served the dishes exactly as per my choices.

The location of the hotel is also very good. It's just steps away from the beach or we can say they have their own Pvt beach with watersports available for interested ones.

The hotel has separate swimming pools fir kids and adults with varying depth.

Finally, it was really awesome stay. Thanks to complete staff of Cidade de Goa for making the stay memorable.

This property is absolutely amazing. Not only is the staff friendly, but they go above and beyond to make sure your every request is met. Lovely Stay one more time with Cidade De Goa

It was our 2nd stay in Cidade De Goa, the first one being our Honeymoon and we enjoyed it a lot along with our two kids. The beach is very accessible, well maintained by Cidade ( even though it is public beach, but it is virtually a private beach ). Swimming pool, staff, food everything was excellent. Location is also nice with proximity to central goa and municipal market and other places of interest. The view from the room was excellent.

Great Setting/Architecture; Needs 1’st Class Mgt.

The fabulous architecture and setting of this place will draw me back again and again - but only for a day or so at a time. I love to hang out in the common areas, where superb architecture and interior design make one really enjoy the sea views. The downsides are (1) a somewhat isolated location (if you, like I, enjoy the town of Panjim), aggravated by high car service prices from the hotel; and (2) « B » grade hospitality management, which rests on the laurels rather than striving creatively to provide the services that guests want.

One of the best few days stay anywhere!!

The Cidade de Goa is a wonderful first class resort, right on the beach. The service is top notch. Everyone was so friendly and always concerned that we were enjoying ourselves and wanted for nothing. We ate mostly at the Laranja, the buffet restaurant which had Indian, Goan and western specialties. All first class and very tasties. The breakfast was one of the best I have had in India. We also were fortunate enough to be at the hotel for the first Tuesday of the month, when they hold the Fado evening in their Portuguese themed restaurant allied Alfama. The food is gourmet, the entertainment is excellent and the whole evening was memorable. The hotel has wonderful pools and of course an amazing private beach. Many activities are held throughout the day, such as archery, kids programs, hair braiding classes and so on. Plus, there is a basketball court and beach volleyball court. The coffee shop has chess boards, board games and a pool table. Every evening in the open air bar, there is live music. We also attended the spa where we had massages and an Ayurvedic hot oil treatment. Both were very relaxing and therapeutic. Again, we felt pampered and cared for. The Cidade de Goa was a real treat. In North America, I am sure we would have payed 3 or 4 times the cost and may not have had near the caring, excellent food and fun time that we had here. Highly recommended!!

Great location and privacy of the beach

Amazing view and location of hotel. Excellent staff and service.
Only thing that needs improvement is channel selection on TV and quality of the connection.

No way a 5 star resort !

The only 5 star element of the resort is the price. Also the view, if you book one of the seaview rooms which are obviously Even pricier.
Would never go back there because:
1. Resort restaurants are overpriced compared to all other locations i’ve been in Goa ( North&South). Food is At best “average”.
2. If you want to get out of the resort, the cheapest taxi ride is 400smth INR and 20 min long. This will Take you only to Panjim which is not At all enjoyable, clean or intersting. You can’t walk along the beach or anywhere else. They have an aprox 100 m private beach And that’s It.
3. If you want to eat between 3 And 7.30, there is only 1 restaurant available & the cafe which sells only sandwiches.
4. Furniture and everything else, especially the smell of the hotel (old and stuffy) , made me think I’m in a 80’s hotel. Maybe back in the 80’s this was a 5 star.
5. The smallest bathroom I’ve ever seen. Sitting on the toilet, if somebody wants to get in, they’d hit your legs. No bathtube, just shower which isn’t Even a cabin. It has a cloth curtain. Very 5 star !!!
6. There was a leakage in our room. 9 o’clock they sent maintanace. They worked for about 30 min But more And more water started dripping from the celing. At about 10 , they moved us to another room. They didn’t send anybody to help With the luggage. NexT day, they send someone With 2 indian bananas, an Apple&a raw orange on a plate saying: “Complementary fruit basket for the trouble”.that was their appology :(

Charming hotel, great food

Nice hotel with a private beach. Great food. Lovely swimming pool. Love the facade of the old part of the hotel.
Negatives were that the beach wasnt very clean (the water had some floating bottles and plastics) and there is a big construction coming up behind the hotel which is an eyesore when you are at the beach!

Refreshingly original design beach hotel

The hotel's colourful 'pueblo' style low rise design and its garden frontage onto the pleasant beach give the impression of a smaller more personal hotel. Designed by an award winning architect the Cidade de Goa is more attractive than most and a very appealing place to stay Our room was pleasing, shower room clean and everything worked. Staff were polite and cared about the service they gave. The only problem was the too clever remote control room lighting - trying to find the right button for the bathroom in the dark is highly irritating. The entrance and reception area were somewhat lacking in style so you missed the initial wow factor some hotels have. The only other niggle was the appallingly huge apartment block development under construction on the cliff behind and above the hotel. It spoilt the key view from the beach and had I seen it during our internet scan of hotels it would have put me off - it ruins what would have been the ambience of secluded charm of a rural beach hotel which it could have easily supported. This is remarkable as the hotel is only 10mins by taxi from the centre of the capital Panjin.

The condition of room sucks for 5-star hotel with full of mosquitos. No service, no redressal of issues. The restaurant is pathetic. Breakfast is not too exciting.

Great beach access!

It sounds great access to the beach, just a minute walk. We had elders with us as well so they didn't have to walk much to enjoy the beach. My kid had lots of fun at the beach, it's a private beach hence safe as well. Food options are good, we tried all the restaurants. Buffets are the best, also loved the candle light dinner restaurant. This is our second visit, would definitely visit again.

Very nice and old hotel but staff needs lot of improvement, they don't have a wallet parking. Restaurant waiters need to be more courteous. Food quality is good. Swimming pool needs to be cleaned. Overall not a very good experience.

Review of Cica De Goa

1) We reached there after a long drive of near to 10hrs from Bengaluru . No staff to welcome or give a welcome drink. No vallet parking , customer needs to figure out where to park& then carry luggage from there all the way to hotel entrance , with no help from staff.
2) The rooms are not as shown in image of hotel website or Expedia while booking. Much smaller for a 5 star classic room. They are much smaller . We had informed them that we wanted an extra bed a day before , however staff had no clue and were refusing to give initially . Classic room which is supposed to be for 2 adults and 2 kids , can accomodate only 2 adults comfortably . Hotel needs to keep the customer aware about this .
3) Exhorbitant charges for food & beverages.
4) Every staff member is looking for tip , from service boy to room cleaner . Not a professional team in terms of interaction with guests .
5) Food from their barbeque & Cafe inhouse was pathetic & delayed . Cafe took 1hr to get a meal combo & we found same curry was made different in same table .
6) staff didn't bother to help or provide valuable suggestions for Goa tour . They were all acting strange as if we are asking for donations or something.
7 ) the hotel doesn't have a private beach . The beach is in close proximity but it's public & locals are always there . Which is fine , just that hotel should not claim in website to have private beach.
8) there was inhouse parasailing which our kid enjoyed .

Nice clean hotel with private beach

Beautiful. The view was amazing. You just have to walk down from your room balcony(ground floor) and you enter beach. Where in goa you get this in this budget. Totally worth it.

Bad reception staff and not friendly when in need

We asked for a day extension but hotel staff were not helping in anyway. Not happy with the way they treated guest and we couldn't travel back due to bandh in tamilnadu they just ignored out request hence we have to struggle and shift to better hotel

What a breath of fresh Dona Paula air

My wife and I were at Cidade in 2006 and back with our daughter this time. Our child is 7 years old and this was her first time here. This trip was great and I would recommend this hotel to all. Food is good. Staff is friendly and efficient. Rooms are a bit dated but clean and vibrant. Every thing in the room worked perfectly. And the view from our Superior sea view room was to die for. I will be using this hotel as my Goa staple from here on. Thing to note for all the vegetarians out there - lots and lots of options. Thanks

Good without being exceptional

Good hotel without being exceptional. The staff can do with some training in being pleasant and warm to guests. The swimming pool had direct sun beating down and is too hot to use when the sun is out. Excellent location from a view perspective. Not well located from a convenience perspective. Nothing close by. Good variety of restaurants inside the property. If you are going there, don't expect excellence.
