We love this hotel, one thing- they need to make sure the leafy vegetables salad is really checked and cleaned. We found a little slimy creepy crawler on the leafy green lettuce.. sad , we bit it was just oversight but … it kills our appetite..

For the whole duration of our stay (9 days) the swimming pool was undergoing renovation and maintenance and was unavailable for use. We were not notified of this prior to our arrival either by hotel or Expedia. The hotel provided shuttle service to pool at nearby sister hotel (Grandis) but this is not as covenient as having pool on site.

The hotel is situated in downtown with restaurants and shopping centres conveniently close by. The room we stayed was roomy, but some of the décor are beginning to worn out with the furniture and floor containing visible scratches. However, beds were comfortable and clean. Breakfast was great with quite a lot of varieties.

Breakfast was good. Room clean and comfortable but in need of some minor maintenance like repainting and cleaning of ageing tiles. Difficult for friends to visit and embarrassing as many unnecessary questions asked at the reception. Would be good to have a few more English movie channels on the TV.

Hotel check in time is 2:00pm but the staff told us the room will be ready for us at 4:00pm. She told us because of insufficient staff to clean up!!! I'm wondering why the staff can hold us RM200 for 2 weeks to pay for a hotel security deposit, he didn't cancel and give us settle down payment slip when we checkout on March 6, 2018. We won't receive back RM200 we did not spend after we check out! In addition, shower water isn't getting hot!

Breakfast area table arrangement is not organize. Guest cannot het a seat if a table of six is occupied by three. Hotel shoild change to two to foir per table setting. And waiter is not friendly due to pressure from guests because they cannot get a seat.

Smooth check-in and check-out thanks to Annalyn. Late check-out until 2pm thanks to Judith. City tour by taxi for 1hr recommended by Siti, thanks. My only concern was slow internet connection. Great hotel! Especially the location and the staffs.

Central location, part view to sea, fair value

In a busy city it was a central location for the taxi / bus pick ups for travelling to Kinabalu mountain and only a 10 min stroll to the pier to go out to the islands.
the room on a high floor ( quiet ) was very comfortable and had a sea view ( ignoring the tall Post building opposite ) although the dark walls ( bedroom and bathroom ) were a little gloomy.
Breakfast was very good, with plenty of choices - fruits / hot / pastries and a few interesting hot items
Staff were friendly and the airport bus drop off / pick up ( RM5 pp ) just outside

This hotel far behind 4star standard. More like 2-3star hotel. The ambiance when entering lobby look bit sloppy and smell stuffy everywhere includes room corridor and guest room. Here below the Management seriously need to looking into it:
1. Room assigned not up to guest reference. It's smoking floor and room. Yet got upgraded to bigger room however the room seriously not practical at all. Light switch button confusing. No table to dining and you called it grand deluxe. A.c. too noisy lucky ear plug my life saver. Shower rain not useful at all.
2. Breakfast included but if you request latte or any bit drink will be chargeable compare other hotel standard 4 star is not. Omelette station only one and the staff incompetence cause congestion and delay . Staff more gossiping rather helping the guest . Restaurant manager (wearing black suit) I guess , eating papaya front of the guest which you done discretely.
3. Front desk called 11.15am reminder checkout time . I guess standard local hotel like that. Duh..! Final bill without present straight concluded amount . Ridiculous. They unable to do reversal credit card on the spot and need call bank .
Overall , premium paid room rate but budget hotel standard. Such a wasted .

Does the job.

Check in was disappointing with our room not ready, despite it being an hour after the minimum check in time. Further when we were placed in the bar to wait, no one came to tell us the room was ready, we had to return to the front desk to check ourselves. Beyond this the rest of the stay was pleasant. The pool is small (1.2m throughout), with no shade to sit under, but it has a great view. There's a good gym. Rooms are nice, though the wooden circular bath tubs a little small for even an average sized person.

We stayed for four nights. Our room was lovely and spacious and the wifi worked very well. The dressing gowns were very comfortable and the toiletries very nice - it was good to have conditioner as well as shampoo.

The breakfast was very varied and it was nice to have a wider range of fruit than we'd seen elsewhere.

The location was very convenient, near some great restaurants and right by the Sunday market which made life easier for us.

This hotel does not live up to 4 stars! We had several problems during our stay. The shower didn't work so I had to go to another room to use one (as they said they didn't have enough space to move me). This was also despite the fact that their system had a note about the broken shower in the room yet they still put me in it! On checkin our friends room wasn't ready until 4pm (though checkin time is 2pm). Airconditioner was noisy and overall the hotel was run down.

At the Horizon for 1 night, on business. Staff friendly and helpful when the door lock malfunctioned. Great lamp in the reception - a life sized horse with a lamp fixed to its head! Not sure I liked the bath in the bedroom.... but the terrace was lovely, with a good view and plenty of space.

제셀톤 포인트, kk프라자, 마켓들을 모두 도보로 갈 수 있는 범위안에 위치한 호텔이었으니까요.
보통 한국에서 밤늦게 도착하는 비행기를 타고 가시는 분들이 리조트를 옮기기 전 하룻밤 묵기에
정말 최고의 선택인 것 같아요. 위치에서 다른 부족한 부분을 메워줍니다.

Pros: Nice, clean rooms and good location. Nice wall murals of Mount Kinabalu.

Cons: Arrived after a long road trip close to 4pm but rooms were not ready which meant considerable waiting time. Note that extra guest charge does not equal extra bed so be ready to pay additional RM100 for an additional bed.

Pleasant hotel in city centre, needs improvement

Overall it's a nice hotel in the centre, 5 minutes walking to numerous restaurant and bars. The room was spacious and clean. Cleaning team made an effort. The breakfast was good and they offered plenty of choices both European and Asian style. Wif worked amazingly well.
On the improvement side, these are are small matters but together they can decide about quality of your overall stay:
- There is a construction on one side of the hotel, try to ask for a room away from it, otherwise the workers will wake you up at 8 am
- The hair dryer in my room didn't work. To be exact it worked for 3 minutes and then switched off. I had to ask 3 times for the replacement and in the end took the hair dryer to reception to show them it didn't work properly.
- I visited during Christmas time and they were playing Jingle Bells in hotel on a loop from 8am to 8pm. The staff couldn't understand how this can be actually annoying, in particular if you want to sleep longer and can hear it in the room.

Comfort and very near to shops and restaurants. The breakfast served included some local dishes such as laksa, nasik lamak and roti jallah. As we were there on a Sunday we were able to enjoy the Sunday Market which was outside the hotel. Was able to see all sorts of local products.

Nice rooms and a very clean hotel.

The hotel is in great condition. The carpets in the rooms and halls are clean and have a new appearance. Huge bed. Big TV. And very clean. It has a nice bathroom with a huge shower. However, the water pressure isn't so good. I stayed four days, and for about two days, the hot water wasn't working. We could only get luke warm water. The hotel said that they were repairing a pump to rectify the problem. They gave me a very late check out as compensation. And as everything else was great with the room, I'll consider it just bad luck that it happened while I was there. They hotel seemed to be doing their best to make amends. The breakfast is Asian oriented, but still has enough food for those who just want a simple American style breakfast. The staff seems well trained. We enjoyed our stay, and would stay again.

I arrived at the hotel ahead of the 2pm check in time, was told to deposit luggage at the conciage first, which was fine. The hotel is located at the heart of city, close to night market, rows of eateries and shopping mall. The hotel was reasonably clean, overall it was a pleasant stay. Highly recommend it.

Nice if you want to be in town centre

If you would like the convenience of a good nite stay, within walking distance to coffee shops to grab a bite and to Suria mall, this is a nice hotel that is clean, affordable and has good customer service.
However, there are also a lot of Chinese tourists staying in this hotel, making it quite noisy at the reception area and buffet breakfast.
I wouldn't recommend for a romantic getaway.
I stayed at the P floor and was upgraded to a grand deluxe room with nice ocean view.

We were happy to be upgraded to the premium room and the room was spacious with nice bathtub and comfortable bed. The only problem we had with the room is the aircond which doesn't work well. Food spread for buffet was good. Swimming pool is very small.
