The rooms are spacious and comfortable with a good AC which is a must in the Marianas. My only issue is the long…I mean long trek, hike, journey from the parking lot to room 212.

Coming in for an overnight after the late flight on united air. Had a lot of bags and hurt my knee in Tokyo so the hike, journey, trek to room 212 with 4 pieces of luggage was horrible. If you are staying at the hotel and have any luggage let alone 4, request, plead and protest if they try to give you a room beyond 206. 212 was an outpost that required careful provisions to reach from the front desk. If you make it to your room, you will have a comfy place to sleep, but I wouldn’t blame you if you turn back halfway. The good thing is there are no predators on Saipan so building a fire and taking a 2-hour break mid journey will be safe.

The staff were friendly and the front desk attendant checking me in was top notch, however.

This property is the most decent choice on the island for its price range. If you have VIP access, don't expect an upgrade. I asked the front desk about it and showed that my confirmation says an upgrade when possible. They said that they've reached out to Expedia to say that they don't give upgrades.

My husband and I are residents and have stayed at this hotel many times. We’ve mostly stayed in the standard rooms, which are quite nice, with beds that are better than those in other big hotel chains in the area. However, these rooms are located outside the main building, with access limited to stairs. The open-air hallways can be inconvenient, particularly during heavy rain. We’ve only stayed in the executive room once, as it is quite pricey, but it is more convenient since it’s located within the main building. However, the higher cost might not suit every budget. Additionally, it’s worth noting that the amenities don’t include a toothbrush, which might be inconvenient for some guests. Overall the experience is good. The staff, although we had limited interaction, were pleasant.

Good Hotel needs better arrival support

Very nice hotel with a great location. Perfect for our studies of the Battle for Saipan.

Customer service could have been much better—when surveying in October I noted they had a 15 passenger van. It had a huge cargo compartment that was not available to me with a Hertz van rental. We made an awkward arrival and departure with luggage piled into our van. They could have and I think should have helped us with transfers at airport which was only 10 minutes away. Only stain on an otherwise very satisfactory stay of 32 sleep nights.

The room upgrade was nice but outside the main hotel and when it rained, I got soaked. I opted to move to main hotel.

The staff were all super nice and accommodating. Got to meet new manager- Mr Ahn and the front staff- Nesy, Lota and Dee were all super helpful. Tess of housekeeping was also accommodating. Thank you and looking forward to seeing everyone on our next stay.

Everyone was super friendly, room was clean and had a very fancy feel, there was a laundry room you could use for free which was a huge plus for me and my family. The restaurant behind the hotel was absolutely delicious and there’s a cafe just several feet away. We had a great experience, and we would book again in the future.

The staff was extremely helpful. The friendliest staff I've ever seen in hotels in Saipan. However, there were glitches...the safe didn't work, and there were issues with the floor. The bathroom floor was very slippery and it took me a LONG time to adjust the temperatures of the showers. It was overall a very pleasant place to stay, because of the staff and the cleanliness.

Great boutique hotel steps from the beach, and very convenient to the airport.

Our room was modern, clean, comfortable and had plenty of convenient outlets to charge all of our electronic devices. The laundry room was much appreciated - bought some detergent at the front desk for $1/pack. This was just what we needed at the end of a trip across numerous islands in Micronesia.

Nice beach out back, with a lovely sunset view. The water was pretty shallow for quite a ways out. Harvest Bakery was perfect for lunch & breakfast, and we enjoyed a dinner at the Surf Club restaurant during sunset.

Very nice staff, clean property. Rooms outside on the balcony had metal doors and manual key locks, a little outdated and not the best with safety in mind. Expedia advertises this property as having a hot tub and they do not. Room also did not have a safety deposit box. Toilet in room kept running which was annoying.

Good Hotel but Gold membership means nothing

Hotel not aware of Gold status benefits. When asked about early checkin, they said there was a charge if it is several hours ahead. I told them I was a gold member and person said they do not see anything in the records that says that means I get free early check-in. The person finally said I could check-in two hours earlier at no charge; but i found out it that is the normal service avaialble to all. That being the case, seems Gold membership does nothing for this hotel. Its still a good hotel though.

I plan on going back to Saipan, and definitely booking a room with Surfrider again. The staff were so accomodating and very helpful, specifically Trey, Lota, Beth, and Nancy at the front desk and the room cleaning staff. Impeccable customer service. The room was clean, the hotel looked clean, cleaning was done daily, and fresh towels were always provided. The location is great. A cafe and restaurant was available. Food at both venues were delicious. The beach is so clean and beautiful. I highly recommend Surfrider!

I really didn't know what to expect during our three night stay at the Surfrider in Saipan but it turned out to be a pleasurable experience. The Surfrider is a small, boutique-like hotel. Our room, as well as the public areas of the hotel, were clean and fairly modern. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. I had a room with double queens. The room was perfectly sized as we didn't feel cramped like some other hotels.

All the staff from the front desk, housekeeping and even the GM were very friendly and accommodating. Trey, who worked the evening shift and the ladies (I wish I got their names) from the front desk were always helpful and welcoming each time we walked into the lobby.

Parking was never a problem and it's a very convenient and short walk into the lobby. Bottled water was complimentary throughout our stay. The hotel has no pool so keep that in mind if that's a deal breaker for you. There are two washers and two dryers free to use as well as an ice machine and fitness center all on the second floor. The elevator was clean.

Note that some rooms are accessible directly from the parking lot so keep that in mind when booking as you may prefer the added security of the locked lobby overnight. Front desk is not staffed from 12am to 6am but housekeeping is available and a security guard is posted in the parking lot during that time.
