We brought our whole family, all 15 of us! Ranging from 2 to 71 years old. Everyone had an amazing experience!! Our view was just like the pictures on their website. Prettiest sunset I've ever seen!
We will definitely return.

The property is in a great location, right on Lake Michigan. The sunset views are beautiful and truly breathtaking. There is also a nice small playground for children.

Unfortunately, the room was very outdated. The description of the room we booked was also misleading and did not accurately reflect what we received.

The amenities were disappointing as well. The gym was very dirty, the game room was disorganized, and there was algae growing on the walls of the pool.

Overall, the location and views were outstanding, but the condition of the room and facilities fell well below our expectations for the price paid.

We booked through Expedia. The hotel and Expedia were not communicating, so when we arrived, we had to pay to upgrade our room (apparently, our selected room was not clean). We checked in late (9:30) so did not have many options for lodging that night. Our fee for the upgrade was reasonable, but frustrating.

The check in process was long and tedious. Printing out each form as you are standing there is time consuming especially when there are several customers waiting.

As for the rooms, they are nice. I think they will regret buying gray linens, they will show wear and tear quickly.

I was not pleased they removed the safety lock on the door, considering it is an outside door that seems unsafe to me.

The pool and grounds were neatly maintained and very pretty.

I loved this property. Although it felt like an overgrown campground, it offered all of the things that any family would want - pool, beach, volleyball, game room, etc, etc. My husband and I were only there for the night but we were very happy there - climbing out on the rocks (climber responsibility) and had a lovely stressfree stay.

I loved that it has its own private beach area, swimming pool and entertainment room for the kiddos, I didn’t like the check inn time. You pay good money and can’t check inn tell later on in the early evening. There was No complementary breakfast but I did enjoy the restaurant that is recommended with your stay, I didnt receive my 10% off dinner even when I mentioned I was a guest at the hotel. I feel that for the price I payed for a one night stay would off been better. I would stay again when it’s not a holiday weekend.

Stayed on the Erie side of the property, not the 3 story..which was fine, but the bathroom shower curtain was moldy and the shower head pointed at the wall and couldn’t be moved so showering was awkward! I’ve stayed before and will likely stay again, but in the main building.

I was under the impression that we were going to have a private balcony. However we were on the first floor and just had a walkout patio instead. It wasn't quite what I was expecting but it was OK. The views were still gorgeous. The bigger disappointment was the very uncomfortable bed. It was not supportive at all, and my husband and I rolled towards the middle. The room could have used a bit better lighting as well.

The room was disgusing and smelled like puke… the fridge stunk so bad like mold and vomit as well…the air conditioning unit/heating unit was sooo gross and dirty. When we pulled the filter up it looked like a dryer vent and hadn’t been washed in years. Pillows were flat and uncomfortable. I felt sick after leaving the room. I’m assuming some sort of mold issue is going on.

Honestly, I do not recommend it; it was completely filthy and covered in dust. There was hair in both the bathtub and the sink. The beds were dirty—the sheets were soiled and full of hair—and the coffee maker looked like it had never been washed. It bears absolutely no resemblance to the photos used to describe this place. Given the price I paid, I was in for a huge shock; it has absolutely nothing in common with a \"suite.\"

This property clearly has a lot of history and potential, but it is starting to show its age in ways that a fresh coat of paint cannot hide. While the room was a fair value, the maintenance and upkeep lacks a necessary attention to detail.

Several areas showed where old fixtures had been removed and simply painted over without repairing the drywall and the hot tub was missing its finishing trim work. More concerning was the bathroom soap dispenser, not only was it empty, it was crudely screwed back into a damaged wall without any finish work. Even the exterior felt unfinished, with blue painter’s tape still visible on the windows.

The room’s comfort and functionality also fell short. The mattress was significantly worn, causing my wife and I to roll into the middle throughout the night. The TV was off set in a weird location from the bed. Additionally, the toilet paper holder was placed in an awkward, inconvenient spot, and the hot tub lacked any instructions for operation.

Finally, the property is very \"no-frills.\" There are zero amenities on-site—no continental breakfast, no vending or pop machines and the ice machine was difficult to locate. It is a pleasant enough stay for the price, but the property would benefit greatly from a maintenance professional who focuses on the smaller finishing touches and basic guest conveniences.

I’ve never felt so deceived by a so called Hotel on this site!! When I found out that this was once a Motel, I was not surprised and it should NEVER be claim to be Luxury Inn & Suites!! It is the farthest thing from Luxury. We were supposed to have a Lake View. The only view of the lake was a back 4x6 window high up near the closet outside the bathroom. It said jetted tub, which yes my mistake, in thinking it would be like a Jacuzzi that my finance & I could enjoy together. Instead it was a small tub/shower in the bathroom that I myself would only be able to sit in. The fireplace would not turn on. We called front desk & were told the room temperature was probably too high so fireplace will not turn on. We had to air on to lower temperature just to enjoy a fire on what should have been a Romantic Valentines & birthday celebration. Fireplace finally turned on but only for an hour because then the room temperature got too high again which was only 74 degrees. They say they have a gym which appears to be a renovated garage but there were stacks of drywall in the middle of the area to workout. Morning came & we hoped to enjoy a cup of coffee outside on the deck but unfortunately another guest was out on deck with the lake view smoking which was an awful smell. After leaving I noticed I may have left an expensive jacket behind. Since we were already more than 30min away, we called to check if the jacket was there before we turned around to get it. They wouldn’t look. We had go bac

We got the room because it had a jacuzzi in it. When we went to use it, the jets didn't work. So I paid a premium for something I didn't get. Maintenance came to look at it but could not get it going. They said that we could move to another room but we decided not to since it was late and already unpacked. Also, the renters above us decided to have a party and kept us up all night.

When we got there we could not get into the room. We were given keys and it was a keyless entry so I had to get on the phone to communicate to the front office. Then we had to drive back to the office to pick up key cards. And those did not work. All while standing outside in a snow storm. The other room we rented to friends did not work. They had to replace those locks so they were put into a different room away from all of us staying. We had 4 rooms total. The lady at the front desk was very apologetic about everything. I feel like we should have had some type of compensation. The ice machine was not operational, the hot tub was not hot. The panel for the water in the bathroom was on the floor when we walked in. There was also a humming in the room continuously all the time. My husband and I didn’t even sleep. We were just waiting to leave with our other company who drove. We would have left that night if we would have driven. Again no reflection on the lady in the office but I would not choose to go back.

The location of this inn is scenic looking out the Michigan Lake on top of a bluff. This was the reason why my wife and I decided to stay in this inn. But we had a very unpleasant check in experience. The room that was given to us was NOT the one that we paid to hotels.com. We booked and paid for an upscale lake-view room having a jacuzzi and a view to the lake. The room that was given to us had no jacuzzi, no view to the lake, and dilapidated interior facilities and stinking smell. When I talked to the receptionist that a wrong room was given to us, she replied that when guests book an upgraded room through a third party booking sites such as hotels.com, they still get the cheapest room. A total nonsense. And she said that to get an upgraded room, like one I paid for, I must paid an up-charge. Not to stay a night in a stinking room and to ruin a vacation, I paid the upcharge to get a room that I already paid. A bitter experience. The photos below are the cheap room given to us initially.

Nice casual Lakeside hotel near South Haven

I had to wait for awhile at reception, 6-7 minutes. There was a sign that someone would be right back. I was pleasantly surprised by the room. Looked newly renovated, i had a sunny corner room, kitchenette with coffeemaker, comfy bed. No breakfast offered; i was told that stopped during covid. The grounds are nice, lovely Lakeside setting with lounge chairs. I also swam laps in the pool. There was slimy stuff on the walls of the pool - maybe mold? I trust that the chlorine kept me safe. Its end of season, so likely the pool will be drained soon for scrubbing.

We stayed in a two bedroom queen with a small kitchen in between them. It was a little dated, (I think some units have been updated and some haven't yet) but it was clean and mostly comfortable. My husband hit his head on the fireplace mantle because it is a bit of a tight squeeze to walk between the mantle and end of the bed. The property is very beautiful, with great views of the lake, a cute playground and sandbox for my granddaughter, twon no-frills pools (but more than adequate) and a large grassy play area great for outdoor games. Staff was very friendly. I thought the price was a little high but maybe comparable to other South Haven properties on Labor Day weekend. I would definitely stay here again!

If you just need a place to sleep.

Overall, nice property but the rooms were basically just a place to sleep and shower. Very small and dated. Not many electrical outlets and if you need wifi it’s not great, even if you use their shared network. It was clean however, and the property does have grounds with a swimming pool and fitness equipment. No real water access to Lake Michigan, as an elevated bed of sand backs up to a tall, rocky bank. Overall, it reminded us somewhat of a summer camp than a hotel. South Haven is a quick drive down the road though, so we chose to spend our time in town and just come back to sleep.

Be aware that the photo of the room used when purchasing is more than likely not the room you will be getting when checked in. Other people next to us made the same mistake and feel like we had a bait and switch situation when booking. Our building was partially painted. Our room had drawers which did stay closed and rolled out due to the floor not being fully level. The grounds are beautiful with a great view of the lake. This location was also conveniently close to downtown soha However we were constantly reminded of mismanagement with a hot tub that only partially worked and head rests falling off. Large boats parked in the parking lot old grill laying in the trees next to the parking lot. Our room had no smoke detector which was similar to the room below. Staff was friendly but likely lacked oversight to get simple tasks accomplished like clean towels for rooms

It's a good space with plenty of potential. There were some mechanical issues with the fireplace. Maintenance did come in a very timely manner to turn it on. Unfortunately it wouldn't turn off so the room turned into a sauna. Lol. The water wouldn't get hot for the shower or jacuzzi. A bit of a bummer but it was warm enough. Beautiful Lake Michigan hotel

Very nice hotel room and facility. Very clean. Beautiful view of Lake Michigan. Great outdoor pool and a separate pool for children. The town of South Haven was great for dining and shopping.

Not worth the price.

Ac didn’t work room is only half finished management was either non existent or didn’t care about their guests stay . The view is beautiful and the spa in the room were the highlights. Under better management or ownership this could be a really nice place . May just be a one time thing but get a feeling it’s not talking to other guests that were there and hearing a few complain to maintenance while I was there also no room service or even asked if we needed towels etc .
