We were there from a Friday to Monday and did not get our roomed cleaned one time. Their policy is every other day and that is fine but on Sunday evening when we returned to our room from the day nothing had been done! No clean towels, no beds made, no new toiletries etc. Part of what you pay for and enjoy when you stay at a hotel is coming back to a clean room. When I brought this to the attention of the staff they were not helpful at all. They stated the cleaning staff was gone for the day and offered me towels to carry back to the room. It’s unfortunate because other than this the hotel was pretty nice. Not sure if I would stay again

The hotel was poorly maintained but relatively clean. Our mattress felt like sleeping in a bowl. It was worn out and needed replaced. The TV console cabinet was falling apart. The desk had a sticky trim all around that couldn't be cleaned off. The bathroom trim wall was missing. The bathtub had pink and orange mildew around the rim of the tub. The elevator wasn't working and appeared to not be working for a long period of time. For a Hampton Inn and the price of the stay and location, it should be in better condition. The staff was friendly and helpful doing the best they could with the circumstances. If we would have known the conditions of the facility,we would have picked a different one.

We did not get the room that we booked at hotels.com. We were supposed to have a room with a sofa bed instead we were given two queen beds. They told us they would be able to move us the following day then they turned around and said there was no availability. Make sure when you book going forward that they guarantee that the room that you book for is a room that you get also the hot tub kept leaking how to keep filling it almost every day they need to do a better maintenance job.

The elevator is broke and has been since last October. Had to drag my cooler from the beach amoung other thimgs, up 2 flights of stairs. The TV had two remotes and initially was a challenge to operate. The person who checked us in didn't mention the broken elevator and didn't give any times for the breakfast. Just handed me the key card, stated the room number...and that was it.

Except for the hashbrowns the breakfast was great. The breakfast host was pleasant and helpful. Dining area had outside seating.
The outside area for dogs was spacious with shade providing trees.
The elevator was was not operating during our visit. In the future I will check out this detail before booking.
We are in our 70's, had our dog with us and stayed for 3 nights.
The pool area was also closed the first 2 days. When it did open the entire area was super clean, hot tub was hot and the pool was cool but not cold. Perfect.

I'm complaining about that I called and told me that I could have ground floor and when I showed up they told me that I couldn't, so I had to lug up my suitcase up the stairway, with me having bad knees.Other complaints is people running in the hallway from 10pm to 12pm and slamming the doors,it needs alot of upgrading, the air conditionering is very loud, doors need to be fixed. What was nice was the pool and hot tub. The breakfast was good.I am definitely not going back. I do not recommend this hotel in south haven michigan.

This property is in need of some repair and cleaning. There were holes in the baseboard in our bathroom and the vents were dirty. Also, some less than desirable, loud and rude individuals in the room next to us, yelling and screaming while slamming the door back and forth at 2am!! The location is also not the best area, a little run down and noisy.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The only issue was an outdoor party going on until 1:30 a.m. right below our window preventing us from sleeping. They were right outside the lobby but it appeared that the staff didn't care if it was disruptive for the other guests.

AC was non existent. Room was hot and stuffy. Dirty run down room. Bedding was worn and cheap. Elevator was broken. Had no help carrying luggage upstairs. Bathroom had no vent, Breakfast was okay but coffee was awful, discolored hot water at best. Pool/hot tub area was rundown. Only one jet worked in hot tub, timer was broken, concrete crumbling. All outside and pool doors did not latch for security purposes. Road into hotel was worse than a dirt road. Very bad experience.

First the elevator was out of order and when we questioned the staff we were told we could cancel our rooms. The hotel was not well kept. My bathroom had chips out of the tub and my friend said hers was so bad she wouldn’t use to shower. The soap at the bathroom sinks was mounted on the wall so high many of us couldn’t even reach.
Very hard to believe this hotel was associated with the Hilton brand.

I stay here pretty regularly and it’s usually great, but the room was not as clean as it normally is - there was hair on the shower wall. Not sure how housekeeping missed it since it was at eye height and literally the first thing I saw.
The bedding seemed nice and clean and the beds were comfortable. I did not have breakfast or use the pool this trip.
It’s nice that they have good coffee in the lobby all day.

I paid more for a whirlpool tub in the room, which did not work. When I told staff, their suggestion was to fill the tub completely before attempting to use the jets, or she could move me to a different room. Once I filled the tub, which took every bit of an hour, the jets did not actually function. At this point I did not see it worth moving rooms. The standing shower drain cover was not attached and kept moving when I tried to shower and the towel rack fell off the wall when I hung the towel on it.
The main issue was the bed. I don’t know if it was the box spring or the mattress but it was sunken in at the middle and kept causing me to roll to it in the night. Trying to circumvent this by simply sleeping in the middle was no help either. It was very uncomfortable. I mentioned it to staff in the morning at checkout, and they took note of the issues with my room for their maintenance staff.
It seems as though this hotel is under renovations. The main lobby looks great and clean, but the elevator was out of service and upon entering the second floor, there was styrofoam littering the entire hallway and there were multiple large boxes (I assume from TVs) stacked against the wall at the end of the hall.
I missed breakfast and cannot provide an opinion.

No elevator, and wasn’t advised until check-in by that time we had already prepaid for the room had to walk up three flights of stairs to the room. Next morning for breakfast nothing to drink, but water biscuits were hard enough to throw against the wall. Eggs were very watery not much of a selection very dissatisfied won’t be staying again!

This hotel is dirty and well past the time for a renovation. The carpeting in the room was grimy. The elevator made a loud noise each time it ran. The room was noisy from the AC unit and street noise because the windows were ill-fitting. I'm surprised this hotel is part of the Hilton chain.

We stayed for three breakfasts. It was enjoyable because each day there was a new egg entree with different sides as well. Everything was delicious, the ladies servicing the area were pleasant, friendly, efficient in making sure food was replaced and even picked up our dirty plates to dispose for us. The poppyseed scones were YUMMY!!

Room was next to elevator therefore noisy. I was on the top floor and it seemed as though some sort of equipment on the roof (air handler maybe) made certain things vibrate in the room. The AC unit in the bedroom blew air directly across the bed and wasn’t adjustable. The hotel is badly in need of updating. Breakfast was decent.

The hotel must be under new management because we have stayed here numerous times and this time was a big disappointment. Just to name a few, elevator broken and our room was originally on the 3rd floor floor but asked receptionist to give us a room on the first floor but they could only offer 2nd floor. My sister has very bad knees and had to carry all her things and help her. One of the doors by the pool was broken. The whirlpool water looked dirty. Our room's bath room door didn't close, the night stand table was broken and fell to the side, the bathtub was very unsafe, the tub did not have a flat surface, making it unsafe for my sister with the bad knees to shower. The phone in our our room was broken with no dial tone. I reported it to front desk and they said the would put it on the list. The food was terrible! Looked like it was reheated from a few days go! Hope they improve!

The room we were in needed some updates- especially the bathroom- there was a hole in the ceiling and a metal piece coming away from the ceiling as well. The only reason we noticed it was because it was reflected in the mirror. Other than that, no complaints.

This place was interesting. The staff were terrific. Front desk and breakfast hostess superior. Because of this, initial impressions were great.

Then came the room. Not as good. In dire need of updating except for the bed which was pretty comfy. There was a car outside our room that had 2 flat tires and had been keyed on one side. Obviously has been sitting there awhile. However, they were actively updating rooms around us as we were there. If the rooms all improve, so will your experience.

We were somewhat disappointed by our stay this time. We (and many other family members) were staying here after our nephew’s wedding. The first room we were given had never been cleaned… the lights were on, dirty towels were on the bathroom floor, the bed was unmade, and the window was open. We knew the hotel was full, but Andrea couldn’t have been nicer and found us an upgraded room. Unfortunately, the carpeting and bathroom floor of this second room were dirty and the shower door didn't close well. All of this was very unusual and disappointing as a Hampton Inn is usually our go-to hotel due to their consistent quality.

A little misleading.

The hotel listed that i got a smoking room..theres no smoking rooms. I think they did that, thinking that would attract more people. The dirty yellow chair from the 70s can go in trash. They need to fix elevator. Makes a loud screeching noise. Front desk clerk, needs to be more welcoming. Smile!. WILL NOT RETURN.

This was our 8th time staying there over the last 7 years. Last year we noticed the rooms were getting way old and tired and soiled. We decided to stay one more time before Labor Day....and we were surprised that they were redoing the rooms and ours was so much better than last year. The staff was amazing and friendly (especially Andrea) The breakfast area was so clean and the ladies overseeing it was so nice and friendly. Glad Hamptonis finally in the process of updating this hotel...as it needed it. We will stay there again the next time we go up

Meh...It's Hampton Inn...what do you expect?

Room needs some updates, some parts looking pretty scruffy, e.g., bathroom area.
Also, those $%@ in room heaters/AC units are a perpetual pain. Too hot, too cold, too loud, on and off a lot. 8(
For the cost/night, which I get is impacted by location, season, I might expect a bit more.
That said, the young woman who worked at the Front Desk during the day was wonderful. She helped us with a number of needs, and was kind, calm, patient as she did so. Great job. I'm embarrassed that I can't recall her name.

Really Sweet & Awesome, just a Lil Dirty

The stay was great until the last night when I came back to the room and found that it had not been cleaned by housekeeping. But what makes it worse? Is that first starters, the owner? Ask me if I wanted my room cleaned and I told him yes. The Housekeeping Staff number was in the room across the hall from mine and I told them after I leave please do my room next. They shook their head yes in agreement. And then I left for the day. When I came back late that night after 11 PM. I found my room absolutely disgusting from not having been cleaned at all. The towels that were used for bathing. We're still there. The dirty linen from the bed will still on the floor where I have put it because it had got too hot. It became very sweaty until the air was turned on. On top of that, after I pulled the linen off, I saw that the bed head that reddish mold in places. In addition to this, throughout the past couple days, I thought it was odd that I saw the number of bugs that were in my room of all sorts. There was a millipede that was caught in a complimentary plastic cup and put on to the bed before I left. I told them About the bed and the bug problem before I left for the day. They were the only staff person who made this trip in any way negative. Everyone else was overly accommodating, professional, amazing and everything that a customer could want and more.

Uncomfortable staying in a room with features we didn’t need that perhaps someone else did. Otherwise, it was a comfortable stay. The included breakfast was versatile with an amazing person that went out of her way to accommodate. Above and beyond. Downside is not very walkable to anything.
