The property definitely needs maintenance. It seemed expensive for the quality at that price. The rooms and the bathrooms seemed pretty old and could use some renovations. The staff however was very cordial and helpful.

This hotel is dated and definitely needs upgrading. Upon first getting to the hotel, you notice landscaping that is not taken care of at all. Upon entering, the amenities are not taken care of and mostly empty, with food or something smeared on the case. The ice machine on the 2nd floor was not working, but the one on the first floor was. Also, the vending machine on the 1st floor, across from the ice machine, was mostly empty, and God only knows how old the few bags of potato chips, that were in there, were. The front doors were open when we got there, and it seemed like the temperature in there was approaching 80 degrees. (They must have closed the front doors at night because the next morning they were shut.) You could see the wallpaper starting to pull away in most areas of the hotel.
On the positive, the room was very clean and the breakfast was decent.
Overall, I don't think I would stay here again. I would spend more money to stay at a hotel more up to date and better taken care of.

This hotel is in need of a lot of TLC. Driving into the parking lot made me very nervous because the lack of landscaping and tall grass in the rocks made me think of an abandoned property. Going inside I was relieved to see that it looked all right at first glance. The hallway carpets looked fairly new. The room was a generous size with a small sofa as well as refrigerator, coffee maker, and room safe. But there were marks on the walls, pulled threads on the sofa and suspicious markings on the ceiling. The A/C unit vibrated annoyingly at faster fan speeds. The pool area looked clean, but the ceiling was terrible. It’s fine to stay there because it is clean, but next time I’d go next door to another hotel.

The lady at the front desk upon check-in was not very friendly.
No hot water in the shower.
Hair and grimme on the cup/coffee tray.
Black out curtains cannot be closed so there was a parking lot light shining in my eyes all night which caused a restless night sleep.

The staff was horrible. She literally was on her personal phone all night sitting down and didn’t want to call a manager to help. The pool area was just as cold in there as it was outside. The pool water was freezing. They just kept saying it’s not heated pool. Well duhhhh but it shouldn’t feel like your ice fishing either. You couldn’t even sit in the pool room the room was freezing..the vent was blowing out cold air instead of heat. It’s horrible. I would NEVER stay there again. When I ask to die a compliant they just gave me a piece of paper and claim they would give it to manager. No one wanted to call manager. What hotel you know the managers are not on call on weekends? This place is so unprofessional and the host( front desk) workers smelled so bad. Do not book there.

I chose this property because it was convenient for my overnight stay. My check-in was a bit delayed because Expedia only provided me with an itinerary number but no reservation number. After calling customer service, we were able to locate my reservation and check in.
The room was clean but not well supplied (no shampoo or lotion, no shower cap). My son used the pull-out sofa but it was quite old and uncomfortable.
Breakfast was decent. Overall, the hotel was sufficient for my purpose. It could use some updating (fitness room had some broken equipment).

Tired Hotel

The room smelled of mildew. The hotel is tired and feels worn down. Weeds outside. The same 2 people working a 12 hour shift and swapping with each other. The staff were nice and the breakfast was good. (Except the eggs! Microwaved in a plastic dish which is questionable).

South Haven beach and town made the trip worth it, but we would not choose this hotel again.

We really wanted to like this hotel, but our stay was pretty rough. When we first pulled in, the landscaping was so overgrown that it honestly made us nervous about what we’d find inside. At check-in, the lobby was stifling hot, which didn’t help our first impression.

Finding luggage carts turned into a scavenger hunt — we had to search all the floors, and the single slow elevator didn’t make it easier. After we unpacked, our toilet clogged, and unfortunately, there was only one staff member working on a Saturday afternoon. No one was available to fix it, so we had to pack everything back up and move to another room.

On the positive side, the bathrooms and bed sheets were very clean, the staff were friendly, and we did enjoy the indoor pool. However, the beds were extremely hard, the pullout couch was only a twin, and the breakfast area was just as hot and cramped as the lobby. Breakfast itself was a very basic continental spread.

Overall, the friendly staff, clean rooms, and indoor pool were the bright spots, but everything else — from maintenance issues to comfort — left a lot to be desired.

Meh

The AC didn’t work. We spent so little time in the room that we didn’t realize it until 10pm on our 2nd night, at which point it was too late and inconvenient to do anything about it. The elevator was slow and was making a clunking jerking thing that felt unsafe. The pool was cold. The front desk staff person was friendly and helpful. I liked how many lights and plugs there were in the room.

What a view!

Room was clean and spacious, service was good. However there was a little mix up when we first got checked in. Staff sent me up to what I thought was going to be our room so I went barging in (with the key obviously) and there sat a woman and her husband just getting out of the shower one undressed and the other wrapped up in the towel.
Also we had a room with a pull out sofa sleeper in which there was no bedding we requested some from the front desk and they refused to give us any pillows or blankets.
