Apartment 6 room floor carpet needs replacing , walls have splash marks that are from previous occupants , shower door disgusting at bottom outside.

We booked the double room. It was VERY SMALL!! Couldn’t swing a cat in it (no place to put luggage for example). Towel rail permanently on and so close to the toilet, it burned your leg if you weren’t very careful how you sat. Paint chipped and peeling. Needs updating.

Stayed overnight here so we could catch a nearby folk music gig. Everything was outstanding! If you're looking for that \"Sign of the Prancing Pony\" romantic inn experience, this is it. I half-expected to see Aragorn ensconced in the corner. Breakfast was absolutely terrific: my wife had the vegetarian full English and I had the regular, both superb. Strong, flavorful coffee made fresh. Staff were always helpful and friendly. We'd definitely stay here again in Cambridge!

The Waterman is a loverly pub doing good beer and good food and the staff are great. Have stayed there on numerous occasions and the rooms are cosy but lovely and perfect for me on my own. Great location too, easy to cross the river and be in town in under 10mins. I will def stay there again.
Staff even helped me getting a taxi to the station this morn when i thought i would miss my train bit i just made it!! So thank for that guys and thanks for a lovely stay in Cambridge!

The location by Jesus Common is excellent for walking to town and to the Wilberforce Road Sports Ground. We found parking about 7 minutes away. We were a little disappointed that our 'deluxe double room (Super King) was the same room ('double room') that we had the year before. It is quite cosy but difficult to open the small window due to secondary glazing and difficult to clean teeth due to shelf above the tiny washbasin.

Nice base for Cambridge but quite far from centre.

Stayed at the Waterman for our anniversary trip to Cambridge. Was a bit further away from town than expected however it was a pleasant walk into town. Waterman welcome was very nice. Stayed in room one. Bed comfortable apart from the pillows we both had neck ache by the 2nd night. Could have done with drawers in the room as the storage was very limited and only 4 hangers for 2 of us for 2 nights. Ceiling/wall fan didn’t work and one bulb in toilet / shower room kept flickering for the 1st 5 minutes of being turned on. Window was small in the room and obscured as it looks over the pub garden. Room had hairdryer and a floor fan and tea / coffee making facilities. Overall a pleasant stay. Breakfast wasn't included if not booked direct which wasn’t clear when booking through hotels.com especially as I had filtered for accommodation that included breakfast.

It was very hot in the room, some proper air con rather than a fan would have been welcome. Food was pretty good, more gluten free options would be welcomed. Staff were very pleasant, and the location was excellent (we were staying over night to see a gig at the portland arms!). Tea and coffee making facilities and water in the room was good (some biccies too would be nice). Shower was good too. All in all would recommend. Wish we'd actually booked for 2 nights not just one.

Great place to stay. The pub is cool, the food is excellent, and the staff are super-friendly. The room was nicely decked out and although it was a hot night, there were numerous fans in the room to help out. Great shower. Dog friendly too, with treats and lots of welcome fuss. Location is convenient and there are paid parking spots along the road so it wasn’t a problem. Recommend.

Waterman - overnight stay

Lovely pub and room facilities. Stayed during the England Euro game so extremely busy but great atmosphere. Bar and food facilities great - parking quite expensive but that applies to the whole of Cambridge centre. Plenty of room in the double deluxe and everything available in the room for an overnight stay. Only small issue is proximity to busy road and the noise from the road traffic. Ideal for our purposes as we had a late night out.

So glad my friend and I booked a room here. It's a lovely building and the pub is great with a very nice deck out back. The lunch we had was great, and the breakfast we ate in the attached cafe was delicious. Staff was EXCELLENT and so kind and helpful. Our room was a little smaller than we expected, but it was fine. We had booked a deluxe double room, so we needed to split the double bed apart to make 2 twins. The hotel didn't have another duvet for us, but we just used a few extra sheets for cover. The bathroom was also a little tight, but nicely done and the shower was good! The Waterman is a bit out of the center of town, but easily walkable and it was surprisingly so quiet at night. Didn't hear a bit of noise from the other rooms, either. I'd surely stay at The Waterman again!

The Waterman is in a good location only a 10 minute walk from the city centre, parking is not easy the street we was told to park in was full. The staff were friendly, the room was lovely the problem was there was a green safety light near the door that was so bright we struggled to sleep, as we checked out there was nobody available to speak to about our lack of sleep.

A very old pub just has 8 rooms hotel on top in walking distance to all interesting points! Food are delicious and garden is nice and crowded. Everyone worked there are friendly and helpful, especially l have a wheelchair to be stored down and forced to abandon it when our rental car couldn’t pack it in. Apologize to the managers!

If you cannot take the noise, this street corner is not for you.

Really nice staff but definitely not worth the price. It was ok, but the room was really tired, paint chipped, tiles chipped, frayed furnishings. The room was also on a main road & it was hot so windows were open & the traffic is relentless as we’re people shouting & chatting although the night. Overall we were tired the next day so never a great stay if that’s happened. Didn’t try the cafe as it was shut for breakfast.

We had a lovely 2 nights at The Waterman, the room was nice if a little cramped. The bed was very comfortable and the facilities were good. The room was very clean, maybe looking a little tired in places but that's really being picky.
The free parking is a 5 mins walk away, would have been nice to at least unload bags from outside but couldn't find space. On 2nd night managed to park right outside the door which was much easier espcially on departing in the morning.
We ate in the pub on 1 night and it was very good. Breakfast was also lovely.
Overall we'd definitely be back and recommend.

Room was above the Pub. I really didn't hear much below. The room looked out onto a busy street and the traffic in that area was slow by 7pm so the traffic was not a problem. Our stay was for 3 nights and we wish it was longer. Everything was great. Check in was flawless and as simple as you can get. The great draw was the pub. No need to walk or drive around. Good food, great company. Very nearby dining options. Would stay again.

Short stay visiting an elderly relative. Pleasant room with nice big bed. Shame cooked breakfast unavailable as the chef had resigned. Wash basin was too small and had a shelf directly above it, making cleaning teeth a bit awkward. Shower controls were loose and not easy to adjust. No hanging space. Also no lift so bags had to be carried up a small turning staircase. Very handy location though and lovely food and atmosphere in the pub.

The hotel itself was lovely, however the details on parking are very misleading. We booked the hotel as it stated onsite parking. However, when we arrived we were advised parking was around a 5min walk away. After driving around for half an hour and finding only permit only parking we were eventually directed to the correct street parking. This was a hassle especially after a 4 hour drive and a lot of luggage. The hotel was nice but would have booked elsewhere with better parking if I had know.

We enjoyed a one night stay with the waterman, It was a lovely room with an alternative interior which we loved.

Only a few little things cropped up, the WiFi connection in our room wasn’t great. This was ok for us as we were away for leisure.

Our remote control was filthy, this is not a complaint to the hotel as I wouldn’t think I’d have to clean a remote control either. I would just put this down to a build up previous guests.

Our king bed was actually two singles, but again it was comfy so not the end of the world!

It was a great location for a city break and their processes to avoid unnecessary contact due to covid were appreciated. Can’t comment on staff as we didn’t see any this time around :-)

Tip. We decided to park at Castle Hill Car Park which was only a 10 minute walk & £9 for 24hrs.

The room was very clean and well equipped with what you would expect to find. The bedding was ckean and comfortable.
The decor alittle worn/tatty in places but nothing exceptional. It is not a hotel and the accomodation met my expectations .
The place is abit quirky, staff very helpful and friendly.
There is road and bar noise but it is a pub.
My only gripe was with the two cleaners who started work in the next room 8am . They spent a large proportion of yime chatting loudly in corridor and may aswell have been in the room with us. So no relaxing lie in for us.
We didnt have breakfast but it looked inviting in cafe downstairs.
A short walk into city centre so good location.
I would stay again.

Stayed over Xmas. This is a small pub with a few (8?) rooms. They've clearly been renovating and the room we had was small but nicely furnished. Good double glazing kept the party noise from downstairs down. The bathroom was small but excellent hot water and facilities.
Great breakfast in \"No 30\" next door.
Will go back there.

No Parking, Rude Staff, Noisy Stay

NO PARKING, do not be fooled! Even though advert stated \"self parking\" they do not have a car park! Went in to speak to the staff and they were incredibly rude and unhelpful. Eventually after wasting an hour trying to park which then cost £12 before we got checked in. The room was dissapointly smaller than advertised, supposedly \"king\" but no room to swing a cat! Room was above the bar so music playing all night and next to the road which was noisy in the morning. Decor was tasteful though and what was in the room was nice. Location wasnt great, nothing near by so had to get a taxi. Check out in the morning greeted by another rude member of staff that had no interest in checking us out, would rather make coffees for another group insead. Overall wouldnt recommend, better value stays in the area, was a late descision booking and if I'd known about the parking I'd have picked elsewhere.

The establishment, which includes a pub and coffee shop, is overall very cute and quaint with a wonderful vibe and very friendly staff. The bathroom was very modern. I did find, however, that the room was not quite worth the price. There was a coffee or tea stain on the carpet by the bed with some of the dried liquid visible on the adjacent rubbish bin, making me wonder how well it was cleaned. The couch also seemed like it could use a good steam clean. One of the curtains was broken, which on its own wouldn't have been a problem, but in combination with everything else, it added to an overall grimy feeling. The shower did not drain well and overflowed after the first shower (there were two of us, so the second shower had to be rapid). I found some false eyelashes on one of the counters in the bathroom. The toilet seat was broken and permanently askew. I found that the walls of the room were very thin and could hear the couple in the next room clearly, which made us feel uncomfortable in our own room. Certainly the sound is a more difficult problem to fix, but if the room were given a good scrubbing and the shower fixed, it could have been a more pleasant experience.

Ok stay, overall disappointed

THIS HOTEL HAS NO PARKING!!
I only stayed hear as the advert suggested there was parking at the property. There definitely is not and I would not consider the paid parking on the side of the road up the street adequate it’s an extremely busy road I would not leave any cars here. Room was small so with 2 full grown adults you couldn’t spend much time in there. The shower was good however I would suggest shower caps as no way to escape water if you don’t want to wash your hair.
Nice stay, I wouldn’t stay again given the parking and size of the room which cost £125 and then I spent a further £40-£50 on overnight parking in Cambridge.

The Waterman was a good place to stay. It’s location was ideal for our needs. Parking wasn’t an issue. The room was comfortable. We had lovely breakfasts and their Sunday Roast was great

Really surprised at the quality of the rooms for the price, especially as they are part of a pub.
Location was great for sight seeing but not great if you want night life

Oriented to being a tavern not a hotel

Bathroom, especially the sink, was TINY and hard to use. Staff seemed totally focused on the pub operation and only one made any effort to be helpful re information, directions, transportation. Location not bad, but lots of traffic once you got outside. Quiet enough for sleeping however.
