I stay for the convienence to friends and have stayed at this Red Roof several times. Pet friendly. Place is clean and well lit. Only downside is that they need to keep up with maintence. I found the toilet seat very worn and missing mount pad. AC units do not seem to remove humidity from the room and settings would not accept what was put in.

There was no soap shampoo in the rooms. Mid way through my first night i was told i was being moved to a different room. When I opened the mini fridge there was a roll of sausage that was spoiled. The breakfast was minimal on Saturday nothing was offered on Sunday. The staff was non existent except when i was told.to change rooms. It was not a good experience.

It was probably the worst hotel we’ve ever stayed at. The sheets were dirty. Our tv wouldn’t work properly. The toilet was old and dirty. The shower faucet was broken, almost coming off. There was a half drank Mountain Dew bottle in the refrigerator. Obviously, they do not clean their rooms fully.

The room we stayed in (222) had a very strong smell. My mother and daughter went to get our bags while I stayed back. By the time they returned my throat felt like it was closing and I couldn’t take a deep breath. My chest felt tight and when I would breath my lungs just hurt. I was going to tell the front desk but couldn’t locate anyone. We ended up just walking out and having to book another hotel room 25 minutes away.

The other reviews I read here were overly harsh. This is definitely a mom and pop - type hotel, and it's run that way. You'll see all the shortcuts they took, but its inexpensive and convienient to Hartselle, and the staff was friendly and accessible.

My room Stunk with cigarette smoke, desk clerk swore the room was cleaned. I washed out the BLACK air filter, and had to burn candles the entire stay just to get something that smelled breathable.

It was supposed to be hot breakfast,the only hot things were waffles (horrible batter).One kind of bread(only white),cheap,small muffins,2 kinds of cereal.Butter in a huge container and jelly.

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed at over the last 5years walkin shower was great with a hand held shower wand and a seat with a back. perfect for my disable wife. It’s a good place to sleep and has nice people working at it. The television didn’t work, but had hdmi ports so if you want to watch tv I’d suggest bring your own stick to plug into the tv. The tv wasn’t an issue for me but it was a small issue for my wife. The only complaint I have is that the shower was hard to get warm, by day 2 we figured it out. Slept wonderful at the inn though.

The women at the front desk was nice, but seemed like she was under the influence of something. The hotel is two stories but there is no elevator. The stairwell was really creepy. The lady gave me my room keys and when I opened the room door, there was a couple laying in bed. I went back to the front desk and the lady was very apologetic. When I went into the new room, it was fairly clean. The bathroom counter was badly stained and I saw dead roach.

I love that every single time I choose red roof in hartselle, my room is clean. Not only is it clean but the sheets and pillow cases are clean and have a clean smell and feel with no stains or holes. Bathrooms and showers remain clean. And unlike a lot of other places, you can actually walk on the hardwood floors with no socks and have no residue or crumbs or dirt on your feet. They mop the floors well and sweep. Tables are clean and polished. Microwaves are always clean. No stains. No anything. It's an affordable price and most definitely worth every cent with the nice upkeep of the rooms at the hotel.

IT was terrible we had to let the water run for 20 min before it got hot the tv wasn’t working myself and the front desk cleark in night shift finally got the tv to work and finally got hot water she spoke with the manager and they wouldn’t let her swap out room I was told by the night shift cleaner that the manager on first shift would give us a discount when we checked out spoke to the manager at check out and she refused to give us a discount because we got the tv to work and finally got hot water after 20 min of running I would t recommend this place to anyone

I checked in to my room around 2:30pm on a Saturday afternoon and only stayed long enough to drop my bag before leaving to make it to my granddaughters softball game. I didn't make it back to the room until 10pm. The room was tidy and appeared clean. After getting ready for bed and laying down I started itching so bad across my whole body I couldn't sleep. I got up and pulled the comforter down and noticed stains on the sheets which had very obviously not been changed. I took a shower, grabbed my bag and left at 12:40am. I dropped my key card in a drop box at the front desk since no one seemed to be working. I spent less than 3 hours in the room before giving up on sleep and driving home. I called the hotel the following Monday about the stains on the sheets and my experience during my \"stay\". I also sent them the pictures of the stains but they pretty much called me a liar. They told me they couldn't verify it was their bed and if I wanted a refund I would have to get it from hotels.com since I booked the room there. That seems very odd to me since I didn't pay hotels.com, I paid Red Roof Inn when I check in. How can hotels.com refund something the didn't charge?? I doubt I could ever stay here again which is very unfortunate since it's the most convenient place to stay when I go watch my granddaughters play softball.

Waited 15 minutes in the lobby for front desk personel to make an appearance in response to my repeated bell ringing at the front desk. House phone didn't work, clock radio didn't work. Room was somewhat rundown in spite of apparent renevation. Only plus was a great area for dog walking. Overall, very disappointing.

The 1st room hadn't been cleaned. The second room was clean but no bar soap. The lady at the reception desk had to help get our TV to work. We had to slam the door to have it shut, otherwise it stayed open. The phone in the room did not work. This hotel reuses the door key sleeves. Our sleeve had a lot of witeout over previous room numbers.
The big plus for this hotel was the receptionist who signed us in and helped us with the TV. She had put us down for a wake-up call and we were going to cancel it only to find out the phone didn't have a dial tone anyway.

This Red Roof Inn is really used for workers in the area an that is fine but you can tell they do not out in at of effort keeping it really clean & fresh. The rooms are not roomy & had a smell that was not pleasant, the beds were not really fresh nothing about the Inn was really fresh. I also had family staying in other rooms and one had blood on the sheets & one room had a bathroom faucet leaking water in the floor and had to keep towels under it. when they informed the owner he said he would have to replace it the next time he was at Lowes. I would NOT recommend this location

We have stayed at the Hartselle Red Roof Inn over the last 15 years. The facility is a shadow of its former self. The southern hospitality is lacking. The shower floor was pitched and drained poorly. There was still debris in the drain.

The room had the odor of humidity and mold.

Crazy guy in adjoining room was screaming obscenities and sounded like he was tearing up his room…no one did anything?? NOW it sounds like water is running inside our wall?? TV is broken so we cant even drown out all the noise. The attendant is on of the nicest, friendliest people and a wonderful representative of RRI and we LOVE that our dog can stay free!! Room is comfy and pretty clean….overall we just want a safe, quiet night!!

Superlative small-town hotel

This hotel absolutely exceeded my expectations. The building is a little older, but it is obviously maintained with a lot of care. The staff was super friendly and check-in was very easy. The bed was super comfortable, with very soft sheets. The whole room was astonishingly clean - I could have eaten off the floors.Overall, my stay was wonderful; I could not have had a better experience anywhere else. And that's at a budget price, too! I don't know if all Red Roof Inns are this well-kept, but I was thoroughly impressed with this one.

Took 20 minutes to find a staff member. Rooms they sent us to were disgusting. Then staff member argued with us that the rooms were clean. Not even sheets on the bed and trash in trash cans, dead bugs on floor. Other room we booked had a big live bug sitting right in the middle of the bed. Yeah, not clean. First time in my life I left a hotel where I had reservations and went somewhere else.
