Built in the 1400s as a hospital and restored in 1875, our building has enjoyed a rich history. Now, after meticulous renovation, it stands as a unique hotel, its rooms and common areas decorated to preserve the spirit of old Istanbul.

I would say the service was what stood out for me. The staff are amazing, and the location is great. One thing though is to let the hotel know you’re arriving about 15 before you get there. This way the staff can help you with the luggage as it is not accessible for a car or taxi to drop you off at the front door. But the staff are more than happy to come to you, if you give them plenty of notice. Loved our stay and will be coming back hopefully.

The main issue with this hotel was that the family room had no proper windows, only small openings into an enclosed space. While the rooms were a good size for a family, the lack of natural light made them feel quite suffocating. Breakfast was very basic for the price—no omelettes or yoghurts offered. On a positive note, the staff were friendly and welcoming.

Great Karakoy Location

Surprisingly beautiful hotel you wouldn’t expect from the outside. Walkable to the Karakoy tram station and easy access to Galata Bridge and other sites. We enjoyed our stay here with family and kids. Very clean and well maintained with friendly staff.

All the staff were nice and friendly during our stay. We appreciate their welcoming attitude throughout it. The reason for this one star is the obvious chemical smell that masks across the entire hotel. It is extremely irritating and I would warn others with allergies or sensitivities to such smells and irritants to stay away. It made the stay quite unbearable. It is also obvious they spray bug repellent everywhere throughout the hotel yet our room was still full of bugs making it very uncomfortable.

Beautiful hotel just add wifi signal booster

This hotel is absolutely superb in terms of value for money. It’s located in a great district of Istanbul—conveniently close to Galata Tower and with easy access to the city center. Taxis are readily available nearby, and if you’re up for a 30-minute walk, you can reach the main mosques on foot, which makes exploring very flexible.

The interior of the hotel is stunning, with stylish decor and a strong sense of character. Although the street outside may look a bit bleak at first glance, I actually found it quite charming—it had its own unique vibe that added to the experience.

The rooms were extremely spacious, with high ceilings and comfortable beds. Each unit included two rooms and a well-equipped bathroom. The breakfast bar was also excellent—plentiful and delicious.

What truly stood out was the staff. They were exceptionally friendly and went out of their way to make my stay enjoyable.

The only drawback was the weak Wi-Fi and phone signal in the far end building where I stayed. Connectivity was a challenge at times. With the addition of a few signal boosters, this place would be virtually perfect.

Highly recommended overall for anyone visiting Istanbul.

Hotel is located perfectly with everything all walkable to areas or transport. The staff are really friendly and were always very accommodating. Breakfast options was ok, but they don't have much to offer outside of the breakfast.
The room was clean, however it was the smallest room I have ever stayed in. When checking in the staff prewarn that we had the tiniest room and they weren't lying! Me and my cousin had to manuver between us and we both couldn't fit in the space. Think the title of the room is misleading - junior suite, if I knew how small it would be I would of paid more for a larger room. It got very loud outside in the corridors, one particular night it woke us up at 4am with some men shouting and talking loud.
If you are looking for fantastic location and decent rooms, this hotel is fine, also for the cost. However, I personally wouldn't stay here again as I like something abit more to offer and perhaps the size of the room was the main thing that really put me off from the stay.

We had an excellent stay here. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful and gave us somr local information straight away. The buffet breakfast is in an area with large windows and a great view. We sometimes went up there to get work done during the day. The hotel was generally lovely. The gym could do with some updating though. The hotel is well located and you can walk to most places for food options. It is also a short walk to the port, ferry stop, and tram stop.

I’ve been travelling to İstanbul for a couple of years and stayed at a lot of hotels. This one was the best experience I ever had! The Hotel smells amazing, it is very clean and quiet and they have a lot of additional services, as well as a huge breakfast buffet. The staff is very friendly, helpful and even walked with me to the taxi 300metres outside of the hotel! The service was excellent. Also the location of the hotel was great. İt’s located next to the public transport and one feels safe at night since the entrance is very closer to the public part. I recommend the hotel for every tourist and even people who know İstanbul.

The staff are excellent here. The breakfast is amazing. The restaurant area is beautiful and the area is perfect. The ONLY thing that made the stay uncomfortable is the size of the room that I booked. There is literally no room to open up your suitcase and open the door simultaneously. The room is so small that you have to step over your suitcase to get to the bathroom. But, everything else about the room (cleanliness, amenities, quality of mattress and furniture) are great.

We had an excellent stay at the Ferman Port hotel. The staff were wonderful! So polite and friendly. Kerem was lovely, always greeting us and helped us with our baggage. The breakfast was very good, with a lot of variety and great views of the Bosphours. Rooms were clean and kept in good condition. Would definitely be staying here again. Only issue we had was the water was leaking from the shower onto the bathroom floor. Other than that, an excellent stay!

Overall,the hotel gives off a really good vibe , but our deluxe family suite looked very tired in terms of decor - scuffs and scrapes all around the walls from furniture or suitcases- making it feel scruffy. The shower door didn't fit properly causing water to leak out onto the floor and pool in a corner , the air conditioning is not air conditioning - it is a hotel wide ventilation system that you can only turn on or off. The control panels are for air con units but do nothing except on or off. In our case (December 20 -23) the hotel was heating the place so it got very hot and stuffy at night with no cooler ventilation (no windows). Even turning the whole thing offf didn't do much. Staff were very helpful generally and breakfast on the top floor is good , though not amazing. Location is excellent as a base though a bit random in terms of arrival as the taxi can't actually get down the street so you are set down on the main road and have to find the entrance in the back alleys. Once found it's fine - just a bit worrying on first arrival. Very close to tram and ferry so really easy to get around. Overall a good stay but wouldn't really class it as a 4 star special category , more a 3 star special !

The Ferman Port Hotel was exceptional in every way. Surrounded by walkable locations from restaurants, shops, money exchange, waterfront or historical locations. Breakfast included was fresh and delicious. Staff extremely professional, kind and knowledgeable. Willing to help out in every way. A bit in the old part of town but never felt unsafe. It's a gem in the middle of it all. Rooftops Best view of harbor in the city.

Very comfortable hotel in Karakoy

We all had a very nice time in Ferman Port Hotel of Istanbul. The room was spacious. The breakfast was very good with a lot of choice and served in a roof top room with a very nice view on Bosphore and the old city. The fitness room could be a bit more equipped and the spa could be accessible for free.
But overall, we definitely recommend this hotel with a very good quality/price ratio

Definitely stay here!

Stayed in Sultanahmet neighborhood before, Karakoy is much better and this hotel is great, fantastic service, great breakfast, nice big rooms (space is hard to find in istanbul!) comfortable, clean and very very helpful staff!

Hotel bathroom was the only real issue. Difficult to access because obstructed by the door. The shower head was blocked and the under sink cabinet doors were hanging off.
Other than that, the bed was very comfortable and clean. The location is superb and there’s lovely restaurant 30 seconds away where we decided to have breakfast. The hotel breakfast wasn’t great, but was ok.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Overall we had an average stay.

Great external location, weird internal location

The room was entirely internal facing, with a corridor outside the windows so anyone could see in! We had to keep the curtains closed the entire time (and it was a bit noisy in evening as people came back to the hotel) but it was clean, comfy and a great location

Always Secure Your Values.

The front desk attendant was exceptional, the breakfast was okay and the location was fairly close to the port which was nice. However, the cleaning crew stole money from my room. I left money inside an extra cell phone case that remained in the room the entire time I stayed at the hotel and I discovered money missing my last night there. Reported it to management after my departure because I did not want to involve the police while I was still inside the country. I understood the management could not do anything to replace the stolen money, just wanted to alert them that their maid(s) were thieves.

Loved this boutique hotel in a great location. Waterfront restaurants within 5min walk. Tram stop also just 5min walk. Easy to get tram and funicular to Taksim Sq and over to Sultanahmet for Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. Egyptian Spice Bazaar an easy 15min walk.
Staff - so friendly and helpful. Very attentive.
Breakfast included on rooftop. A good variety of local/middle eastern dishes as well as scrambled eggs, toast and pastries/cakes.
I highly recommend this hotel and would stay again!

Buildings around us are two or three-story ancient buildings which cannot be rebuilt higher, so we always will save our beautiful view of Goldenhorn on the front facade from the 3rd floor and GalataTower on the rear facade from the 4th floor.5th floor has six rooms with a balcony looking through the beautiful Golden horn.We offer a delicious buffet breakfast between 07:30 a.m-10:30 a.m We installed heat recovery devices on each floor, which intake fresh air from outside and exhaust used air from the room to outside of the building.All the indoor air conditioning units are installed, all the fire alarm and fire fighting sprinkler system,all the ceilings on the room floors are closed with gypsum boards.

All bathrooms have ceramic coatings and bathroom accessory. The infrastructure of a strong internet in the rooms and general.We will be very happy to host you at Galatahan
