I traveled in a large group about six people and 10 bags, including a stroller. The rooms were very spacious. I had booked two superior rooms. They were extremely clean. The staff was very friendly. The manager was very courteous. The location is excellent. Everything was perfect. My kids and family members really enjoyed their stay at the hotel.

Such a great hotel! Clean, comfortable and modern rooms, great location as it’s so close to the galata tower and so many other attractions. Really friendly staff who couldn’t do enough for you. A special shoutout and thanks to the hotel manager, Rafi, who throughout the whole stay was a delight and even posted the luggage that I mistakenly left at the hotel back to us. Would definitely stay again. I also want to mention that we felt completely safe as two young female travelers alone.

Everything was good overall. The staff was helpful, and the room looks the same as on the photos. The only issue is that it seemed that the room wasn’t completely prepared for us when we arrived, the pillows were not in the pillowcases and there was no toilet paper in the restroom. That was kind of annoying for the price of the hotel, but otherwise it is a very nice place to stay.

Clean, great design. Somewhat loud with no lobby.

Really nice detail and super clean deluxe room, with amazing rooftop breakfast space - even if you don't get breakfast, go upstairs to check out the view! Breakfast was vegan-friendly (except no plant-based milk, sadly.)

One reason I'm not giving 5 stars: there is a very loud machine in the building next door, plus a loud outside air conditioning unit which vibrated the room. Could be obnoxious to those who are noise sensitive (me). You definitely couldn't enjoy the balcony because of this sound. View was decent.

Another note: the lobby is shared with a tattoo shop, so there's no nice relaxed common area. When I arrived early, I wasn't allowed to sit in the restaurant area to wait and had to leave the hotel to come back later.

There is one room in every floor without windows - so pay attention if this matters to you!

Hotel is in a good location to access public transport and for walking but it is on the corner of several busy roads so very noisy especially at night. We only booked a standard room for a 4 night stay but the room was exceptionally small even by European standards.
Breakfast was good and restaurant had lovely views.

Very knoweldgeable and helpful front desk people, arrived in the middle of the night, made it easy to check in and get settled.

Great location to the Tram to old city, good resturants around and helpful suggestions for a Turkish bath! Have major construction going on nearby which they can't do anything about-but quiet at night.

Would recommend -good price and service.

Fair priced hotel in Galata

Minimalist modern hotel at the base of Galata hill, offers you an excellent access to all major attractions in Istanbul. Very clean rooms, medium sized, with an upgraded bathroom and working air conditioner. Also an excellent breakfast with local menus.

This hotel is a great choice. It’s very well located, has near bakeries, cafe’s and restaurants. Also near some of Istanbul’s attractions. Our plan was to initially stay 2 nights however we had an emergency last minute and the hotel and staff specially Fatih, were very helpful and attentive and allowed us to modify our reservation due to our emergency. Good for the price, excellent service!

This is a very clean hotel to sleep and that’s about it. The service by the front desk is excellent!. I booked a family room that consisted in two connected corner rooms with a common entrance. The first one was disgusting, it looked like someone had seated in the bed and the bathroom towels were wet and yellow. The front desk guy was very apologetic and quickly moves us to another in the opposite side of the same floor. Those two were perfect and mine had a balcony. We had problems with the keys every day but they helped with a smile and that hospitality that only Turkey has. There are no bars or restaurants in the hotel but they would accommodate any need with a simple phone call. Now, the rooms need improvement, although the cleaning lady do a great job, the mattress at my room 402 it’s stained and disgusting. The fridge can get a good cleaning too by the way. Also the cover is dirty and stained. Moving on, the location could not be better. There are restaurants and shops. The Galata bridge is one block away. 10 minutes walk to the spice Baazar. Would I stay there again? Absolutely!

Overall it was okey, pictures are better then the condition of the hotel. Line in the elevator most of the time.. Tok a upgraded room can't really say that it was something special. We had good help to get some document that was damand from government convid times. Restaurant and wiew points are cancelled or full booked for people who is only there for the restaurant. Good stay for a weekend if you will get a good offer price .

Cozy Boutique Hotel!

Great location in the old part of the city. Hotel staff is exceptionally accommodating and very helpful. The suite room consisted of 2 connecting rooms, both with balconies. Each room had large and comfortable beds.
The air conditioning worked but it struggled to keep the rooms cool during the daytime.

Great location, small rooms but ok for few nights, very noisy rooms , you can hear traffic during the night, very friendly staff at front desk and restaurant (Burak and Gunes) , roof terrace has a stunning view , breakfast was just ok, ( run out boiled eggs one morning it was only 8.30 am asked member of staff (not Gunes) and he said that’s it no more boiled eggs :) it was funny to be honest ,I would probably stay there again just need to bring ear plugs with me next time.

I reserved a three bed room for three people. The room had one dabble bed and one sofa bed which was not comfortable at all. I appreciate that the hotel manager tried to rectify the issue after my initial review. However, all they could offer was opening another sofa bed.
When I was checking out, they gave me a receipt all written in turkish and ask me to sign it. When I told the receptionist that I cannot understand even a word of this receipt therefore I cannot sign it. He get angry, raise his voice and repeating: madam it is your receipt, you don’t need to pay, sign it!!!
I paid the room in euro and upfront. The receipt was in turkish lire. So even I couldn’t figure out the amount I paid to sing it based on that. After I insisted I cannot sign some thing I don’t understand, the receptionist took the papers in a rood manner and say ok go. Goodbye!
As the good portion of their guest are not Turkish, I suggest they prepare their receipt in English as well as Turkish. Instead of having rood approach to their guests, and make them to sign a paper by raising their voice.

Little GEM in Istanbul ... Good VALUE!

This is a practical and affordable place ... Reasonably modern and clean, yet close to the FUN \"lively\" part of Karakoy (offering late night bars and many restaurants) which is only 5 minutes walk. Close to Galata Bridge and water-front and Galata Tower, the area is well serviced by public transport and is walking distance (between 30 to 40 minutes) to Taksim's main Shopping Boulevard at one end and Grand Bazar on the other (depending on if you head right uphill or left across the bridge) … There is a convenient \"Roof-Top Restaurant\" offering a great view, which is very popular (amongst the locals too) and the staff are both efficient and helpful and that makes a BIG difference in Istanbul too!

First day in the first floor, next to the Main Street; so noisy that sleeping was almost impossible. Second day, after room change (kind offer, thanks), AC couldn’t be turned off in the new room, therefore first freezing then hot (after we took out the card to turn all electricity in the room off). Also transfer from one room to the other was problematic as our luggage was forgotten on the hallway. Very good location, and last time stay was perfect; service quality this time was improvable, or maybe bad luck

The Haze Karakoy has a great location with easy access to the metro system. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and had everything we needed.

Street noise is significant from 10pm until the early morning, so be prepared. There was also a significant amount of street light that pours into the room at night.

All good overall. Room nice, only thing to complain was water in the shower which had very low pressure and changed temperature all the time; and the toilet flush which worked hardly. Service very good, we were even offered free breakfast even though we had not booked that. Area is great (if you know your way around; we’re locals), quite central and lots of cafes etc around.

Location Location Location. This hotel is in a very hip newly revamped cool neighborhood (its’ close proximity to the hip brand new Karakoy 10 Morgan hotel is no coincidence) nice casual clean place. Doesnt have a parking garage nor vale service (close to a different lot though). The cool rooftop restaurant with a view is a different entity (great views, wish it was the spot for hotels own for breakfast purposes)

All and all this is a reasonable casual small hotel with friendly staff. I think i overpaid because I got the family suite (essentially two rooms joined together) It is the location makes this place good.

He have been disappointed about the deluxe superior room. The name let us expecting more but the room was very very small. On one side there was no space to move. The windows were not good insulated. You heared everything what happened on the streets. The shower was very clean and with enough space. The toilet also clean and with enough utilities. In total, the location is perfect for all your needs, but you should not expect a lot from the room and from your sleep at this place.

Initially a problem with my booking but the hotel manager Rafi... sorted it out n gave us free breakfast all week as a compensation for our troubles...overall good hotel location as tram , tube n boat 5mins walk from the hotel. The staff at reception are very welcoming but head cleaning lady n a man working with her dont smile n moans a lot in their own language. Aishah in the breakfast area was very helpful n always smiling n finally a special mention about Rafi Hotel Manager who tried his best to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

I booked for family room - but Hotel does not have family room per se instead they are two adjacent rooms (not connected).

The good thing - both rooms have Balcony.

The most DISAPPOINTING thing hotel says breakfast whereas hotel has No Kitchen. Breakfast is lousy - only canned food, some cheese and breads and some poor quality fruits. only cooked thing is boiled eggs and Coffee.

Even the photo provide on the site is misleading. The view is not so beautiful as it appears.

Though we stayed for 7 nights - just because of its location and good rooms.

I stayed there for only 2 days, but enjoyed them to the fullest thanks to excellent location (close to the shopping area, and Galata bridge).
Lots of restaurants to choose from in the area.
To my surprise, I felt safe as a solo female traveler even in the evening.
Would definitely stay there again on my next trip to Istanbul and would recommend it to others

Don't stay in this hotel

I urge you not to stay in this hotel for the following reasons -
- My girlfriends valentine present was stolen from the room, theft is also referred to in other reviews.
- The dealing of this issue by the staff demonstrated the worst customer experience I have experienced.
- The rooms are not what you expect in reference to the pictures you see so you will have to pay for an upgrade.
- The sink unit was broken which caused the bathroom floor to be constantly wet.

This is a hotel of nightmares, do not book this hotel.

Perfect spot if you want to be able to jump out of your comfortable hotel right into the city and busy days of activity. Nice deal in the off season, no frills. Not for the TV watcher sprawl out shut in. Nor for the super social hostel roamer. Something in between with a nice shower.

Surprising great stay in the hotel !

We book hotel at last minute and didn't expect much however on the arrival it was a big pleasant surprise to see nice and clean room, professional and very helpful staff. The only thing was a little disappointment breakfast and the selection. However there is a lot of option on the street and it wasn't a big deal. I would definitely recommend this hotel and if occasion will arise I will stay again in your hotel.

Very well located, close to great food, public transport, taxis, the water, Galata and the bridge, etc. that said, if you are staying in a room facing the corner, it is not quiet. Sort of like a mini Times Square traffic-wise. Not really, but sometimes and definitely on weekends. Very clean.

I stayed at The Haze while on a business trip, and was out for most of the day. My flight was extremely early, and the staff arranged a transfer and offered me coffee while I waited. When I arrived in Ankara, I realized I had left behind my phone and glasses and called the hotel. They had already identified all the items and were ready to send them. Sevim mailed them overnight and I had them in my new hotel by noon the next day, along with a small bottle of perfume. Her willingness to make this all happen quite literally saved the trip and left me extremely grateful to have selected The Haze for my short visit to Istanbul. I also recommend eating dinner in the hotel restaurant -- excellent food, and a cozy atmosphere!

Great Location

The Location of this hotel is great. It is in New City and at the base of Galata with an easy walk to the tram station or the Tunel. It is also very easy walk to the main shopping street or over the bridge into the Old City with all of the tourist attractions.
We checked into the hotel around 2 or 3 in the afternoon after a long international flight and they did not have our room ready for us. I was a bit disappointed by having to wait for 30 minutes, they could have just given us another room in the hotel that was clean, the Hotel was not fully booked. Once we got the room it was nice, very modern. A few small issues like the group who stayed in the room prior to us had obviously trashed the place, not the hotel's fault but they could have done a better job cleaning. Other than that the only real complaint was that the daily room cleaning service was not as complete as I would have liked and in the week that we stayed there they only changed our sheets once and we had to ask.
Otherwise the front desk staff was very helpful with bookings, taxi, and directions. And, like I said, the location was perfect right in the middle of everything.

This is a modern well-appointed hotel. The staff are young, friendly and efficient (although their choice of music at breakfast is a bit up-tempo for an oldie like me). Some traffic noise can be heard, although it is generally quiet by midnight. My room was spacious and comfortable. I would go there again without hesitation.

Clean & New!

Room and linen looks and smells clean. Good breakfast, friendly staff. Only complain,
elevator is tiny, only 2 people at a time. Also, it's 30 minutes from airport - so, spend extra
$25 to $30 on taxi/cab.

Booked but did not stay

We booked this hotel during our travels in Turkey. When we got to our room it smelled like smoke (even though all the rooms are non smoking). There were no open rooms but the manager was helpful and arranged for us to stay in their sister hotel The Gradiva.

has lots of potential

the location is perfect and the rooms have nice decor and amenities. unfortunately, the noise of the surrounding construction is an issue (even in the middle of the night) and my air conditioning also wasn't working properly. I would recommend the Haze if they can work out what I think are early kinks.

Underperforming Staff and Pounding Outside Noise.

Be prepared for LOUD NOISES at all hours of the day. As you will read from many other reviews spanning many months noise seems to be the number 1 problem with this hotel. Weather its from the rooms next door (very thin walls with what seems like no insulation) or from the constant road or building work around the block, getting a great night sleep can be challenging. Add that to the staff not willing to help with cabs, directions or letting my pregnant wife check in early to get rest (while they had open rooms) this hotel stay was very disappointing. Beautiful modern hotel, outstanding food in restaurant and great location to explore the city...all marred by the staff's attitude and lack soundproof windows.

I just stayed in this hotel one night , I choosed it cose it's close from karakoy, Galata tour, and most of mousqe it's really clean room and new my flight was 6.6 am so I can't use breakfast I checked in 2.00 pm and checked out 4.3am

Great boutique hotel in convenient location

I was impressed with the quality of the hotel for the price we paid. The Haze is a nice, modern boutique hotel, comparable in quality to that of a W or aLoft, at the fraction of the price! Breakfast was included in our rate and they also have free wifi and an in-room safe to lock up your valuables. A 3-4 minute walk to the Karakoy tram stop makes it easy to get to all the sights of Istanbul with relative ease!

Great place with modern comforts

My husband and I had a great time staying at The Haze. The modern design was very nicely done, and we very much enjoyed the neighborhood of Karakoy. Short walk to Galata Tower, the waterfront, and even to Beyoglu, where we had stayed the week prior. Excellent proximity to take a taxi across the bridge to the historic sites. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was amazing (my husband is 6'7\" and can never fit in European showers, and he said this was the best one ever!). The front desk staff was very helpful and enthusiastic, the breakfast was delicious, and I know that the restaurant there is supposed to be great, according to friends who live in Istanbul. We walked around the corner to a wonderful restaurant, and I know there were many other great options within close proximity. The only thing that could be improved on is the lighting in the bathroom, it's just a little too dim and indirect to really see well in the mirror. But that's a small detail. We had a great time at The Haze and will be back for sure!
